It was a bright day and Aino was just getting herself ready for a little job that she herself has signed up for, as an official guild member of Lamia Scale, she had no room to mess up, since it was plainly obvious that strangers scare her. Besides, she wasn’t used to doing stuff like this, so she thought “Why not??”
Her little job consisted of aiding a young male known as Ace, he was trying to leave his parents alone by falsely admitting that he had a girlfriend who was a mage. She can see the difficulty of parents, since her father was always a strict man who whipped her whenever she misbehaved in his eyes. Her mother didn’t help her much either and neither did her older brothers. It caused her to leave the house and go to the church where she stayed until she was at her current age. From there she decided to join a guild, probably one of the bravest things she has done so far!
Walking towards peace village, the brunette looked around at its surroundings, now she knows why it’s called peace village. It was beautiful and sunny, the kids seemed to be playing tag together and they were very happy. Gardeners seemed to be planting sunflower seeds in the ground, and all Aino could think of was how nerve wracking this could be for her… She didn’t quite like the fact that she could be dealing with people, but at the same time, she quite enjoyed the prospect of it.
Finally, Aino was in front of the door to kickstart her task at hand and to see how it feels to be a girlfriend. This will most certainly be a new experience, and it will be one of rather strange proportions. Suddenly, her heart started to beat fast. She, however, wasn’t going to let this get the best of her. Putting on the best determined face she could, she stepped towards the door and she knocked on it one, twice and three times. It didn’t take long to open up the door to see who she would be dealing with.
Two people seemed to be at the door, an older man and an older woman, they seemed to be very happy to see her.
“Greetings.” The female bowed down low. “My name is Aino Koizumi, and I am Ace’s girlfriend! Pleased to make your acquaintance.” The female was polite in her words to say the least and the parents seemed to be impressed immediately. They let the female in and to her surprise, she spotted the guy who was supposed to be her ‘boyfriend’. She must admit. He seemed very handsome for a young male, no wonder his parents didn’t want to leave him alone.
Suddenly, Aino felt two arms wrap around her, this was starting to get very uncomfortable for Aino. However, she knew she couldn’t falter now, she had to get this job done for the sake of Ace. Her heart started to beat faster, even as his hands started to rub her arms, asking if she was okay. To which she nodded, she just hoped that the panic attack wasn’t going to begin right in the middle of this errand.
Luckily, Ace offered to take her outside, followed by his parents whispering and murmuring about what a nice girlfriend she was, and hoped that they get to see more of her in the near future. It seemed Aino did a good job for just standing there and doing nothing at all.
“You did good.” He smiled softly as he looked to her. “Is there something troubling you??”
“Oh! No, none at all!” The female replied as she smiled sweetly at the guy “Just anxiety.”
“Ah, well, make sure you get a good rest, i’ll tell my parents you started to feel sick and so had to go home.”
“Will do, thankyou. I hope you have a good day!”
“You too, you too.”
With this little exchange, Aino smiled softly, and was about to turn around and walk off. But something happened that caught her eye. It seemed Ace’s parents were watching her, it was quite unnerving. It sounded like they even wanted to spend more time with her, and even offered her to stay for dinner. Initially, Aino didn’t want to stay for dinner, but it seemed she had no choice as her stomach started to rumble. She had no choice but to accept, placing her arm on her stomach, gently patting it as she walked towards the house once more, with Ace following in behind her.
It didn’t take long for the dinner to happen, and the food for the day was fish, peas, carrots, chips and a bit of lemon juice on top of the top. Aino wasn’t sure what to make of this dinner. She hasn’t really had it before, nor does she think she would like to know what it is. She just knows she has never had it when she was at the church, nor has even seen it before, well, except the peas and the carrots.
If anything, the food looked absolutely delicious, even if Aino had no clue what her opinion on the food exactly is, she decided to pick up the fork and the knife, cutting up the fish and then began to eat the food. Her first thoughts was that the food was rather nice, even eating more of the dinner made Aino realise just how yummy it actually was, it resulted in Aino eating it rather quickly, she just needed this food so it could keep herself and her belly happy. It also helps in the sense that she didn’t need to worry that strangers gave her this food. She was perfectly in a cheery mood, and she was well fed, 2 birds with 1 stone, as some would say.
After a short time, the female thanked the family for the delicious food and stood up, she knew that even though they were strangers, they were friendly. It was indeed a first step to understanding that not all strangers were bad, it in fact, was a step towards the fact that even strangers were willing to offer stuff to people they have never met before, she was a stranger to them, and they were a stranger to her, there is nothing more or nothing less to it. She just hoped that this type of understanding grew, because she was sure that if something was to mess up again, then her fear would probably get even worse than what it is now.
After an hour or so spending time with Ace and his parents, it was well and truly time to go. She had to get back in time to turn in her little task, she wasn’t sure how it would all turn out in the name of the guilds opinion, but she was sure that it was one big step into becoming a mage that she knew she would be proud of.
“Goodbye, thank you for the lovely time!” Aino would smile warmly as she opened the door to get out the house. After the family also said their goodbyes, Aino walked away from the house, praying on the way, thanking everyone that helped her do her task and thanked her heart for not wanting to explode out of her chest like it wants to almost every time she is in an uncomfortable situation.
