The process of which people assigned partners to these jobs was still a mystery to the elf. Most of the time she usually had no sort of connection to the other person, give for those off chances that once in a while she may know the person. But other than that the way they go about it seemed to just be completely random. It was as if they placed a bunch of random names inside a hat and whichever ones got chosen were than assigned. Well, at least Astrid would like to think it was that way. There was something funny about picturing a room filled with stuffy old men and them picking out small cards from one of their hats, even though deep down she knew that was probably not it. Still, she had to wonder... Who would be their partner this time around?
A well-known animal activist group had recently contacted the guild master in their quest to stop animal poaching once and for all. At first she had almost turned it down, merely due to the sheer amount of work she was currently doing. But in the end, could she really say no to saving cute animals? No. No she couldn't.
So, answering yes to their plea they had sent her the coordinates to a recent poacher sighting on Tetsukazu. Astrid had never been to this planet before, but even just being here for five minutes she could see why they would pick this place to hunt down exotic animals. There was practically a new type of species within every five feet, most likely due to the lush nature and non-industrialization. In fact other than a random structure every once in a while there was no signs at all that humans have ever touched this planet. It was... Rather nice. It reminded her of Terasu, if Terasu actually had daylight and there wasn't a bunch of families and couples visiting constantly.

Currently the young elf was seated upon a fallen log, holding her head upon her hands as she looked out into the distance of trees and bushes just by the side of the sandy path. The animal activist group said they would be sending another mage with them, just for backup. So in other words, a partner. Astrid herself didn't mind partners, but she knew Lucius did. She just hoped he would keep his cool long enough to get through this. Staying in her house every day wasn't good, not that her house was any sort of safe haven thanks to Shizuka and Wolfgang, two very noisy and loud individuals. So maybe this would even be a nice change of pace for him. Who knew.
"Who do you think our backup is?" the wizard saint would ask Lucius, though would not turn her gaze away from the forest. A smirk formed upon her lips for a moment. "What if it's Kai? That'd be just our luck."
Lucius hated Kai, she knew that. And with just their luck they would end up getting him. Though in the end it was normally more effort than it was worth to have her brother and friend on the same team, trying to keep them from fighting. So hopefully it wouldn't be.
But still, wouldn't that be funny?

    {

    }

It all began a couple of days ago. An animal activist group had come to the doorstep of Black Rose, requesting assistance to help the poaching problem within a foreign land, that the holy mage had honestly never heard of. It was called... Tetsukazu? Hikari had to think for a moment if she ever heard of that place before but the name completely escaped her mind... She still agreed to help, eager to discover more about this unknown land to her. It honestly sounded like an interesting trip. New discoveries as well being able to assist the animals that were being harmed. It was a winning combo. That is to say, in theory.

When the activist group had confirmed her assistance, they informed her that there would be two other mages from another guild. That made it sound only slightly less appealing as the other two may find it annoying for Hikari to stop and admire the scenery every once and a while. But she could probably manage to restrain herself until after the mission was over. The other piece of information the group told the holy mage was that the travel to the land was through a portal. This made it sound like a prank as Hikari didn't really have any way to know whether this new land was even real or not. Perhaps that's why the name escaped her mind. It just sounded like something else. The portal could lead anywhere and she hoped that wherever she landed, it was within flying distance of home.

The day had arrived with haste, as Hikari had almost forgot about the mission until the morning where the animal activist group showed up once again. They had to journey for a while to get to the portal and when Hikari saw how extravagant they looked, she had immediately realized that this is the real deal. Deciding not to put it off, the holy mage stepped into the portal with a flash of light temporarily blinding her. After a couple of seconds, the noble was greeted with an awing site. This new planet, as the group had explained, was basically untouched by mankind! It's a shame that people come to poach the unharmed wildlife but still, it's beautiful to behold how unscathed it is by human hands. The verdant green forest spread as far as high as the eye can see and appear to meet with the sky on the horizon. Hikari needed to take a minute to indulge in on the sights before she took a glance at the side of the pathway.

She noticed a silver haired woman sitting on a log near the path. Oddly enough, she seemed to be talking to someone who wasn't quite in Hikari's vision but considering they were here, Hikari had a hunch that these would be the two she'd be working with for the mission. Feeling a little bit overwhelmed with the new environment and soon to be new accomplices, the girl had to calm herself down before approaching at a leisurely pace. She'd be waving modestly, with her hand slightly raised while saying a Hello there! as she closed the distance between herself and her soon to be new partners.

Lucius had experienced quite the conundrum when Astrid told him that she would be bringing him along for another job, not unusual for her to do so of course, it was actually expected of her to do so at this point. Though he still dreaded it immensely, he didn't like leaving his room all that much, so he especially didn't like leaving the house. But he couldn't really say no to his elder sister, for multiple reasons. First of all, he just had an all around time saying no to her, she was the only person he liked, so he didn't like letting her down by disagreeing or declining when it was opposing her. Secondly, he didn't usually have a choice some of the time, she could phrase something like a question, but it is really just her telling him to do whatever. It's nice and cruel at the same time. So here he was, with his sister, hired by the activist group to do this job to help deal with poachers. At least here was silent, for now, unlike at the house where he would like to enjoy some peace and quiet whilst stuck in bed. But instead all he would hear was the rowdiness of the young girl who his sister watched over for her friend, Kaisto, which was also someone he absolutely despised. And of course her exceed, Wolfgang, who wasn't to quiet himself. It was hard to get some silence, except, maybe, when the sun goes down it is time for most people to sleep.
Though others could enjoy the amazingly exotic surroundings, the blind assassin, could not. For now he could enjoy the fresh air in his lungs and the foreign aromas in his nostrils. The sounds of nature was peaceful for the time being, though he felt it wouldn't be like such when they got going with their mission. And even more annoying for him, as if a s-rank guildmaster and b-rank mage wasn't enough, they had to hire another mage. He had no idea where their logic was in that, it irritated the mage. Why couldn't just the two of them be alone on a mission together for once, it's been a long time since that has happened. Why couldn't it just be the two of them hanging out like old times? Never works out like that I suppose, the shadow mage thought to himself. Might as well try and enjoying the quiet that they currently had. Which was filled with the soft voice as she spoke out into the silence. He listened as she spoke, leaning up against a tree that stood a few feet from the fallen log from where she sat. He faced away and couldn't really be seen by any that approach Astrid. Blending well within the void-like shadows of the large tree.
Lucius could almost hear the smirk in her voice as she teased him, saying that it could be previously mentioned sky dragon slayer, Kaisto. "Oh dear god I hope not" he said in response, despising the bitter thoughts of the brunet he loathed. He hoped and prayed to any god or whatever that might care, that he wouldn't have to deal with him. He was tempted to playfully mess with his sister as soft revenge for even bringing up his name, but his plots were foiled when he felt an unfamiliar presence. Thankfully it wasn't who he was dreading it would be, but his hopes weren't that high for who they might be. Soon the young regal woman greeted the siblings in a polite manner. Astrid was for sure soon to do the same. Not so much for the younger Foss sibling. The nicest thing he could manage was actually leaving his comfortable spot up against the tree and under it's chilling shadow. And standing behind his sister, doing his best to not look like he didn't want to be here and do not look like he wanted to kill the new arrival. Both of which he would very much prefer to be doing instead of being a decent human being, and not instantly trying to rid of anybody who wasn't his sister.

Just like she thought, her brother responded instantly with a hint of irritation in his gruff voice. The smirk upon the elf's face remained.
She could not think what Kaisto might have done so long ago to piss off the assassination. Really, you didn't have to do much to piss Lucius off though. All it would take is a wrong look or word and the boy would hate you for eternity. Kaisto could be a bit... dim witted at time, and overly helpful and kind. That kind of personality was the complete opposite of his. Then again, Lucius was completely fine with her, and other than a dirty look every now and again when Astrid had to threaten him to keep him in line they were never really truly at odds. They were normal, loving siblings. It was curious. The silvernette had to wonder why despite the similarity in the personalities Lucius got along with her much more better than the sky dragon slayer. Maybe there was no reason, and it just was what it was. Or maybe context and years of being forced to endure each other helped. After all when they were children Lucius hated her guts, until eventually somehow along the line she gained the assassin's friendship. She couldn't say what she had done, she couldn't even remember exactly when it happened. But maybe just having grown up beside each other and never giving up on trying to befriend him helped... Hm...
Well, this was no time to think on such things. They had a job to do, and it looked like their partner arrived.
Astrid's attention turned from the woods to the woman currently walking toward them, waving her hand into the air. The guild master would have to assume this was their backup. Unless this was friendly tourist or something. But judging by the magical energy coming from this person she had to be more than that.
Straightening her posture Astrid smiled, raising a hand to wave back happily. "Bonjour!" she shouted towards the mage before standing to her feet to meet her.
Upon the woman growing closer Astrid was surprised to find she... Actually knew this person. Not personally, but she recognized her from the night she spent about the city with Elyx and then briefly at the beach. Purple eyes widened, her smile growing brighter. It wasn't Kai, but at least it was someone she knew... Kind of. They had never really spoken much before. At most she knew her name, but before Astrid had been afraid of her due to the natural grace she seemed to carry. And having to constantly keep in mind to carry herself as equally gracefully, Astrid had found it intimidating. But a lot had happened since that night. Grace was the last thing on the french woman's mind these days. She was just happy she kind of knew this person.
"My my, it seems fate keeps bringing us together" the silvernette chirped, folding her hands to rest in front of her. "It's nice to see you again... Erm..." A blank look formed onto Astrid's face, trying to recall the red head's name... Oh dear, what was it again? "... Lumière." Lumière. As in, the french meaning for the word 'light'. It seems she was messing up the language barrier quite badly. But she thought she got it right, so she was pretty content as the happiness flooded back onto her features.
She gestured to the man beside her, in case the girl didn't remember who they were either. "I'm Astrid, and this big rock right here is Lucius, in case you couldn't remember~"

As the distance grew smaller, the sight of the person on the side of the path was becoming a lot more clear. She had silver hair and purple eyes. Seeing these two key features had Hikari remember she had interacted with the woman now standing in front of her before. There was the night on the town where she attended a performance and gave her sweets as well as stopping by on the beach. Both times... what was her name again? It shouldn't be too hard to remember... It started with an A. Hikari stopped herself from exclaiming 'oh' when she remembered. Astrid. Either way, both times when Astrid had interacted with Hikari, she felt as though she was put off by Hikari, seemingly stiff when they spoke to each other. The holy mage was happy to learn that Astrid, at least seemed to be excited when she saw her. Hikari was snapped back to reality when the silver-haired girl commented on them always being brought together through fate, which caused Hikari to smile. Chuckling, she says They do say that fate works in mysterious ways. She kept the smile on her face up until Astrid seemed to draw a blank when remembering Hikari's name.

The red head struggled to keep a straight face as she turned her head to the side, almost letting a laugh escape her mouth. It was really sweet that Astrid remembered who she was but didn't remember her name. She left an impact but it seems her name didn't do the same. When she heard Astrid say something starting with the letter 'L', an alarm almost ran off in Hikari's head. Did... did she know who she was? Looking at Astrid with a face that looked close to her breaking her 'character', panic clear in her eyes, she blankly looked at the silver haired girl, when she said a word in another language. Loomeair? It sounded as though it had luminous as a root within it so perhaps it meant light in... whatever language that Astrid speaks. The red head didn't have the heart to correct the silver haired girl as she looked proud of herself for somewhat remembering Hikari's name. Hikari gave the girl a sideways smile to appreciate the effort when Astrid's purple eyes shifted their focus from Hikari to the very tall male near her. He seemed... irritated so Hikari wanted to keep their interactions brief to make sure she didn't irritate him. She smiled politely at Lucius and said, It's nice to properly meet you. I hope all goes well on this mission. Curtsying slightly as she said this, she looked at Astrid and smiled, practically beaming while staying slightly alert over her slight panic earlier. She shouldn't have been that close to panicking when Astrid said the other name. Her past wasn't apart of her. She could probably avoid it forever. Best to not let it consume her and try to move forward. Starting with meeting more people like Astrid and even Lucius perhaps. Her eyes shifted to Lucius once again, eyes scanning over his figure before stopping at his cane. Oh. Was he blind? Not that it really mattered, but it was kind of surprising to see that someone at intimidating as him was unable to see. He'd most likely be able to hold his own with magic, since the magic energy emanating from him was very potent and strong. Hikari bit her tongue in order to stop her normal curiosity, wanting to ask, Excuse me, but have you been blind your entire life? That's an incredibly distasteful thing to ask so the girl shifted her gaze to Astrid once again, smiling, trying to fight away the feeling of curiosity at the back of her mind

The redhead approached them and struck up a conversation with his social butterfly of a sister. Who appeared to of forgotten the elegant young woman's name, before supposedly remembering it. The way she did so, Lucius assumed that it wasn't her name, but the young lady didn't correct her. Either because she was right about the name, or because she didn't have the hard to disagree with the young guildmaster. He might've been able to tell if he had the ability to see, because he could easily read people by the expressions they showed on their complexion. Though he still can read people through various other methods, it isn't as easy, being blind was such a hassle he didn't like having to handle. But it is something has learned to deal with these past few much, not very willingly or very happily. Then again he didn't deal with anything happily, even before having depression. Depression being something he had gradually gained over time, but due to becoming blind and having to go to his sister for help, really pushed him over the edge.
He silently listened to his elder sibling introduce him as a big rock, and Hikari be all polite, well this was going to be fun. Having to deal with another kind soul who is most likely naive and just wanting to help people all the time, hopefully she wasn't as bad as she seemed and that these assumptions weren't true. He'd just have to wait and see, Lucius also hoped that she didn't have the temper and do-good combination personality that Kaisto has. Which is part of the reason he loathes the brunet dragon slayer so much, because when the dark wielding assassin would do any normal thing that he usually does. Whether that be a snarky remark, not taking a mission seriously, or whatever sarcastic and psychopathic people like himself do. He would get mad at him, and attempted to boss him around, which has lead to some disputes including the black haired young man breaking the older boy's finger.
Though this was back before the darkness fully embraced him changing his hair color and making him even more intolerant and sensitive to light, and before he was blind. I doubt his feelings for the man has changed much at all, he just hoped he never had to be on another mission, hoping the one having to deal with that little demon girl was the last thing he had to do with him and his pet goddess. It was bad enough having to deal with his very, very annoying adoptive child on a regular basis, it would be horrible if he had to deal with him on a regular basis also. At least this incompetent prat, Shizuka, didn't do much more then be loud whilst running through the halls. And didn't go into his room asking for trouble, or talk to him when he did leave the room, considering he only every did so at night on the rare occasion that he did (well besides when Astrid takes him out for mission such as this).
He assumed that Astrid, who acted as the child's caretaker, told her to not bother him. Though he was not sure, he never bothered to ask, he was just thankful that he wasn't bother by the child. Children being more annoying then normal people, well that and drunk people, but that's because they act like children and/or complete idiots. Well more annoying people like Kaisto were also included, but you could've probably guessed that on your own at this point. But for some reason he didn't hate Astrid, even he didn't know why he grew so unbelievably attached to the silverette considering she is very much a type of person Lucius doesn't like. Still a mystery to this day, perhaps because of how much he had to deal with her growing up or some other reason, who really knows and who really even cares at this point. At least he likes somebody.
Feeling this was a good time to interrupt because he didn't want the two chattering forever, not sure if they would because he wasn't listening towards the end, tuning out and tuning into his own thoughts. He spoke out to the two young women, but mostly to Astrid, actually probably just Astrid. He's probably trying to just ignore their job companion "Shouldn't we be moving along now?" he said, very slight amount of annoyance accidentally crept into his gruff tone. As he spoke he hooked his cane over his arm and pulled his hair to his chest proceeding to untie it from the ponytail that it was in, and started braiding his extensive amount of hair. He did so with such precision since it was just second nature to him at this point, luckily not even needing to see what he was doing. He still stood behind his older sister, most of his tall figure guarded by the dark shadows of the trees around them. So much so he seemed to oddly blend with them in his black clothes and his long and silky black hair. That hair of which he finished up braiding, grabbing his walking stick he placed it back to the ground and held it firmly, his free hand rested in his one of his pant's pockets.

"As do i" the slayer responded happily to Lumière's wish for the mission to go well. Not that any of them were hoping this mission to go bad or anything, that would be stupid. But saying it out loud into the universe like that was said to bring luck, so hopefully today lady luck would be on their side. Astrid could tell the red headed maiden had grown in power since the last time she had seen her, maybe an entire rank even. The same level as her brother. So they really should be able to get through this mission without any trouble, especially with her own recent training. She had achieved S-rank not too long ago, which was not something a lot of people could say they have done, and it was all thanks to Sirius. She was now within one of the most powerful groups of mages within Fiore, maybe within Earthland. Not to sound like she was bragging or anything, oh gosh, she hopped she wasn't just bragging in her own thoughts. So flustered was she by her own thoughts that Astrid almost forgot to return the noble's curtsy. It took her maybe a few seconds too long to realize this, and by the time the elf finally did, it felt a bit awkward. She had totally left that for too long. She defiantly probably looked like a complete buffoon in front of their backup.
When she popped back up from her curtsy Astrid's face would turn to a light shade of red, fumbling her hands together and overall just embarrassed.
Lucius managed to butt in with his comment, making a good excuse for them too move on without more awkwardness than she was already producing. "U-Uh yes, w-we should get going... Those animals aren't going to save themselves... Haha..." Turning her brightly blushing face Astrid was thankful she finally managed to discontent their eye contact for now, not wanting for the woman judge her on the small action of the greeting. All of her past anxiety about keeping up her image was flooding back into her mind. Why was it that Lumière was one of the only people to bring this out in her? No, she was the ONLY person who did this to her. No one else did, unless she was in front of very important people. But even then she managed to mostly keep her cool. She was like this also with Elyx at first, before becoming more comfortable with him as time went on. So why was it this random girl brought out so much anxiety from within her? And how did she seem so naturally graceful without breaking a sweat? Somethings just weren't fair... Some people were just born with it.
She walked past the two before stopping just shy of the nature trail. The silvernette let out a breath, trying to calm her nerves enough to track some sort of human souls. If they were human, they were most likely poachers. "I will try and trace any signs poachers in this area, though i can't exactly scan an entire planet... Not without going to a higher place anyway..." But there was no time to climb a mountain or anything, or even find one. So they really only had one option.
She turned back around towards Lucius, forcing on her most serious face ever before pointing an index finger towards her sibling.
"Lulu, you're tall enough. Put me on your shoulders. It's the only way." No jokes. No laughs. She was serious. Super serious. Any other time she would have maybe been playful about it, but with Lumière here she felt like the only way to redeem herself was to come off as a strong and confident lady in power.
Plus yeah Lucius was tall so...

Honestly, Hikari didn't really, for lack of a more polite term, care for whether Astrid curtsied back or not. It was simply within her nature to act formal to people, no matter how many times you seem to run into them. However, when Astrid replied after her initial gesture, the silver haired woman seemed to... blank out for a couple of seconds. Appearing lost in her own thoughts, seemingly jumbled up on... whatever she was thinking about. So much so that when Astrid returned the curtsy, it was almost an awkward amount of time in between the two. It seems Astrid picked up on this time as well considering how flustered she seemed to get after she had finished. Then, the formerly introduced 'rock', Lucius interjected his thoughts on what their interaction was. Ah, so he's one of those people. Hikari remembers reading about people like him. Those who are distrusting to new people. He was very clearly annoyed based on the tone of his voice, but Hikari wouldn't really put it against him. After all, to him, she was just a stranger who was sent as random backup on a mission with him and his sister. Oh well. Breaking barriers people set up around themselves isn't stuff that Hikari likes to do, so she'll try to let him adjust at his own pace. With her teasing occasionally of course. No one gets out of her teasing, no matter how close they are to each other.

When Astrid stammered through her sentence, Hikari had a sly smirk on her face. Even if awkwardness was an emotion that thoroughly annoyed the girl, she found it funny that Astrid, who seems like someone who could remain cool in all types of situations, was becoming this much of a mess due to the situation. It was pretty funny. She walked slowly because Astrid seemed to not want to show her face at the moment which was fine because she was enjoying seeing all the surroundings of this new planet that they were on. After all, a little sight seeing would be fine considering the poachers wouldn't be moronic enough to hunt the animals this close to the portal... Would they? That would be a road they cross when it comes to it but for now, the holy mage was perfectly content with enjoying the fresh air and the scenery of this planet.

They continued walking until Astrid stopped at the nature trail. Watching her take a breath had Hikari amused, what was the mage ready to say. Based on how she's feeling it could be serious, or it could be something really funny. Honestly, Hikari was ready for either outcome. She let out a disappointed breath she didn't know that she was holding when Astrid had said something serious about her tracking those in the area. I mean, the red head should have honestly expected that considering Astrid seemed to be trying to calm down after the awkward curtsy return but other than that, she wanted to hear something funny but maybe another time.

Or right now. With a scarily serious face, Hikari deadpanned at the girl who very calmly asked her brother to be let on her shoulders. With Astrid deciding to do something like this, Hikari's thoughts were on those 'mecha' shows on her iLac that she sometimes watched. She let a snicker slip out of her mouth before she covered her mouth hastily. Looking blankly at Lucius and then to Astrid, who in fact, was still pointing, the holy mage shrugged and teasingly said to both of them, That is a fair point. She wouldn't be able to see much on my shoulders. Smirking, she looked at Lucius You got this. Just don't drop her. Hikari took a few steps back in order to avoid any... unexpected outcomes, smiling all the while.

While she took her steps back, she channeled some magic into the hands, which she casually moved behind her body. With this magical energy, she placed the crest of Petasos on her back. That way, when this awkward plan that Astrid has come up with... probably doesn't work, she can help with this spell. But, where's the fun in helping right away. Almost teasingly, Hikari cups one side of her mouth and says, Good luck! I'm here to assist in any other way. Hikari smiles at the two as she thinks to herself for a moment. Considering Lucius seems very careful around new people and untrusting, he may have sensed when Hikari used the magic on herself. That would probably cause him to call her out should he sense it. Ah well, if it happens, it happens. It's going to kill her fun sure, but if Hikari hides what she did, she feels as though Lucius wouldn't hesitate to kill her if she puts him in a situation where he doesn't know what magic that she used. Either way, it could be entertaining either way.

After he butted into their small talk, that of which was wearing on his nerves, his sister started to act all flustered. Her normally fluid speech turned to stuttering, long pauses and faltered words. Shaking his head slightly while he rolled his crimson eyes, figuring she did something that he didn't see, to make herself look like a complete idiot, and upon realizing this she got all embarrassed. Typical Astrid behavior. Another thing that he wasn't surprised about happened, his elder sister started rambling on about how she could lookout, all she needed was a higher place. Lucius knew what was coming, it wouldn't be the first time. He felt the silvernette's violet gaze penetrate his figure, he released a sigh from his lungs, he looked downward in her direction. Not that the placement of his eyes really mattered. The assassin listened to her speak in a tone that was deadly serious, but he just found sort of hilarious, it was a smart idea yes, but a funny thing to ask none the less. Though despite his amusement he showed no emotion on his face besides total aloofness.
He took note of the slight chuckle that he heard escape the caster's lips, before she quickly silenced herself. Then when she gained her composure, released a snarky comment upon the two of them. Well at least she wasn't as much as a goody two shoes as he thought she was, seeing as she was in a rather mischievous mood at the moment. The tone of her voice suggested she was plotting something, so he kept a wary eye (so to speak) on her. In the meantime he did as his sister requested of him, after pulling his long black braided hair to his chest so she wouldn't sit on it. Leaning down he reached out his large pale hands and braced her waist. He lifted the petite young woman up off the ground as easily as someone would lift a feather pillow, he lifted her over his head and placed her onto his broad shoulders. Her short legs hit against his chest, he disguised his reaction to the sudden blunt pain, she was tiny but stronger then she knew. The pain quickly faded and now it just throbbed slightly, so now it was just sort of annoying, thought it soon to be forgotten.
His sister sat upon his shoulders, now being a lookout for the group of three. Now collectively, the Foss siblings were approximately over eight feet tall, more or less. Due to his sister being short already, and she was sitting, so she didn't add to much to Lucius height. He loosely gripped her chin and calf with his mechanical hand, his left hand held his cane and still prevented him from running into anything. He didn't really know if this silly plan of his sister's would work, but he has learned to just go with her shenanigans. And then pick up the mess after it didn't work, or be pleasantly surprised if it actually work. There job companion, Lumère as his sister called her, though he was unsure if that was her actual name, (but he couldn't correct his sibling if he didn't know the facts, and he didn't care enough to find them out,) seemed to think this plan wouldn't work also. He guessed this by her comment that was basically teasing.
Then he became even more suspicious when he felt magic emit from her, as if she was casting a spell. Thoughts coursed through his head as to what she might be doing, but he stayed silent. Though his guard was up and he readied himself to attack the young woman if she dared do something threatening towards them. Which he doubted, because she didn't seem like that type of person. But you could never know, Lucius taught himself to blend into society by being charming and cunning. So he wasn't trusting of anybody, just in case they were similar to himself. Because psychopaths knew how to blend in with the rest of the world, by copying the emotions of everybody else. Though people like himself were rare to come across, but he was naturally mistrustful of everybody anyways. Even if he didn't think they were psychopaths or sociopaths or whatever you want to call them, it's just in his nature to be skeptical.

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

The elf was picked up swiftly by the colossally sized man and placed atop his shoulders with little to no trouble. Not surprising seeing how Astrid practically weighed nothing with her small stature. Any sort of weight anyone could ever feel would probably only be from pure muscle, since despite her appearances she could pick up twenty elephants and not even break a sweat. Some might think she must have trained for years to be able to pull off such a feat. But no, not really. Some people are just born with super human strength. And despite being born human, Astrid was also just one of those people. Perhaps it was in their genes, as many of the Foss women before her were capable of overpowering their male counterparts, given some of the hilarious stories her grandfather had told her about him and Vivian. Apparently she had quite the temper, and the strength to boot. But who could really say. Astrid was simply a little tougher than most girls. The only bad part being, she's never been aware of it, and therefore could not notice when she was letting her strength become dominant in her actions.

Being up so high reminded the slayer of her childhood whenever she could convince her sibling to carry her like this. Being short even back then it was always a nice change of pace whenever she got to see the way he could. It was... Empowering.
Allowing nostalgia to hit her she began swinging her legs back and forth like a child, kicking her heels into Lucius' chest repeatedly. Rather hard. It was only after a brief moment did the wizard saint remember what she as doing. Oh yeah, right. Tracking down poachers. She almost forgot.
She fidgeted slightly in place, trying to adjust herself to fit comfortably on the dark mage's broad shoulders. For good measure she also loosely held onto his darkened locks. Just in case she lost her balance for whatever reason.
Lumière said she was prepared to assist, but Astrid would not take the woman up on her off. Anyone who knew the silvernette knew how passionate she was about keeping her pride. Asking for help was not one of her forties, and not something she did so easily. Especially not now, when trying to prove to both herself and the red head that they were on equal levels.
Astrid sat up straight before closing her eyes, and allowing her muscles to relax. She solely concentrated on focusing upon the soul energies around her rather than all of her other senses, drowning all of them out until only her soul sensing remained. She wasn't so much as making a map in her head like most people thought, but rather trying to sense which direction a large group of menacing souls were located in. At first there seemed to be nothing. A few animals here and there, some humans (most likely tribesmen given she was able to sense their attachment to the area around here) calmly scavenging. She was even able to sense some small bugs and underwater life not too far from here. Which surprised the slayer greatly. Such small creatures usually didn't give off a lot of energy, therefore went undetected. It seems as though her soul training had strengthened her senses quite a lot.
All seemed in order. Until, she felt a sudden and quick rush of menace just slightly out of her range. Rather, on the brink of her range. The mass of negative anger and desperation made the slayer shiver and wince back, unprepared to feel such strong emotions so suddenly. She tried to pushed her range out slightly, trying to get a better feeling of what was going on. But when she tried all she was met with was a painful migraine and a single streak of crimson blood trailing out from her nose. She had pushed herself too far. Unable to take the painful emotions anymore she cut her ties with the soul energies, allowing back her normal senses to return to normal. Astrid leaned forward, almost off of Lucius's shoulders had she not been gripping his black locks tightly through that entire experience. She gasped for air, feeling her chest tighten from pushing herself too far. Beads of sweat formed upon her forehead, trying to calm down her rapidly beating heart with controlled breaths.
"... E-East" she finally managed to speak out through shaking lips. She raised her head upwards, and turned her gaze to the left, where east was for the three of them. "There's something going on just east of here. Something horrible..."
She wasn't able to tell what those souls were, or who they were with given all she could feel was their pain and anguish. But something told her these were the guys they should be looking for... If they were poachers or not.

    IF NOT NOW,

    2735/4000 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SUPER SMALL NOTE

    WHEN?

As Astrid scaled the tower... er, her sibling, Hikari had to cover her mouth to stop herself from chuckling at the situation in front of her. The way Lucius calmly and more importantly, wordlessly demonstrated that this either was or still is a normal thing for Astrid to do. The thought of this happening in other places such as in public made this a lot funnier in the red headed mage's head. Even if it was something like, playing together as kids, it's still more entertaining to think the fact that Astrid might still do stuff like this from time to time. It makes the silver haired woman feel a lot more approachable in all honesty. From her magical energy to her near flawless appearance, it's almost intimidating to approach her. Seeing her act all awkward and this childlike made her seem more human. Even if she wasn't human, if Hikari was to venture a guess.

Ouch. Perhaps they don't do the whole 'let me go on your shoulders' thing anymore because of how strong Astrid is. Those kicks to Lucius' chest must have hurt. The holy mage winced in sympathy when each of those heavy hitting kicks made contact with the younger sibling's chest. Perhaps the silver haired mage even forgets how strong she can be at times? After a brief delay, Astrid looked extremely focused on whatever she was doing. It was calming. The three mages stood on the pathway, surrounded by the nature and the natural beauty of the land that was untarnished by the poachers. It motivated the Black Rose mage all the more to find and capture these poachers. They didn't have a right to be ruining this world.

All was calm until Hikari noticed a small streak of blood coming from Astrid's nose. Hikari was startled when the silver haired woman began gasping for air. She must've felt something horrible to have such a reaction to whatever she was doing. The panting mage got out a direction and Hikari realized that she was tracking them. It was incredible that she was even able to sense the direction that they were in. She must have worked effortlessly to hone that ability to the level that she has now with it. Hikari looked eastward. Obviously it was hard to tell that there was anything there, which was good because it meant the wildlife was still fine. But, still, something felt off about this area and the holy mage was worried that they might find something they weren't looking for in that area.

Hikari frowned at the mage who was controlling her breathing to get it at an even pace. It was very helpful that she did what she did but it didn't seem worth it when she pushed herself that far to do it. Hikari almost felt like it was her fault it happened as she could've told Astrid that she could have scouted the area, so the purple eyed woman wouldn't have put herself in this condition. Sighing, Hikari spoke That was an amazing ability that you demonstrated. However, the minute you detected those we were looking for you could have stopped... Hikari crossed her arms and her gaze fixated on the ground nearby. You are the strongest out of all of us. I can already tell that. We need you in peak condition should anything happen. Smirking slightly, Hikari switched back to her somewhat playful demeanor. Also, you could have asked me to do this and scout. Activating the mark the holy mage placed on her back, elegant gold wings sprouted and stretched themselves out. Beginning to flap, the holy mage flew up higher in an attempt to get a higher vantage point potentially. It still looked the same, which again was still good. But, it made this job a little trickier because the poachers could potentially be hiding within. However, from this height, the holy mage noticed a pack of green deer like creature that were closing in on the two sibling on the ground. Flying back down, Hikari said, quietly, There seems to be a bunch of creatures getting ready for something. They are surrounding us right now, but they don't look hostile. They seem like they are just observing. Ready to intervene or something of the sort. Just be on guard. Hikari was going to summon a weapon, but that might set the creatures on edge. Oh, and Lucius too.

Lucius had to stop himself from constantly glaring at the regal young woman that was accompanying the two siblings on this mission. It wasn't a very nice thing to do, not that he cared for trying to be nice or at least trying not to be a depressed psycho-maniac. But doing it to much might get him a scolding from his elder sister, and as delicate as she looked, you should see with previous things that she is a force to be reckoned with. The unintentional pain given to him by her just absentmindedly kicking was bad enough, he didn't want to deal with what she could do if she was actually trying to hurt somebody. Though he knew she would never hurt him that bad intentionally, but being the bit of the ditz that she is, she has the tendency to put a bit more force into her movements then she means to. That's how she got him to stop swearing, as much as he used to as a child, after all. Either smacking him over the head with a book or a hand. The assassin had enough headaches on his own, he didn't want one caused by his sister when he swore or misbehaved.
That and other things, not just violence against him, she isn't that mean or stupid, also helped him start building up his false persona of being a generally nice and charming young man that he... clearly isn't. The false face that he no longer keeps around in public due to him not caring enough to do so anymore, to much effort, for what? Being liked by people who he couldn't bother giving a crap about? Not worth it. So now he acted how he wants to act, apathetic towards everybody's lives, constantly annoyed and unapproachable. Some days are worse then others, really the amount of tolerance he has just depends on what kind of mood he is in. Well that's what he does when around other people that isn't his sister, which appears to be all the time nowadays. With how busy Astrid is he can barely hang out with her, and since other people besides just the siblings live in the house, it's basically just hell. The dark mage sometimes wished he could just go back to living on the streets, it was much better to be on his lonesome. But of course, the young guildmaster would never allow him to. Which was nice of her, to want to help him, but he felt bad with how much work she was carrying and that he was just adding to it.
The eighteen year old pushed himself back out of his thoughts, now wasn't the time for self-pity and misery. He could always do that when he gets home, lock himself away in his room to just lay and contemplate his miserable life and thoughts of death, putting off eating or showering or anything that would cause him to leave. It isn't an enjoyable thing to do at all, it's actually rather horrible, but he'd rather do that then anything else, like all this socializing (really shows you how much he loves being around people). Especially with this redheaded holy mage, who appeared to just want to constantly mess with his elder sister, which he wasn't very appreciative of. She's hard on herself enough as it is, she doesn't need someone making fun of her and messing with her constantly.
But perhaps it could help toughen her up, but also maybe not, it's hard to tell with Astrid. Though she has appeared to have gained some semblance of an attitude or sass, maybe from Lucius or from other people she's been around. And of course, she's always had that, dreadfully horrible temper that he would prefer to never deal with, ever again. He's had to in the past, and it was never pretty, he still doesn't know how he has gotten through his entire childhood without dying. Whether it be to the darker side of the seemingly perfect Wizard Saint, or to something else, it was truly baffling.
The assassin felt delicate fingers dig harshly into his black locks, brought him some pain, but nothing that was to bothersome. She was concentrating on her spell, and this was the one thing from keeping her from falling backwards. Though Lucius' reflexes would keep her from falling off, so it wasn't that much of a problem. His long hands still resting upon her pale shins, ready to catch if needed. His crimson gaze looked up, as to try and see what she looked like when casting and using this spell, or something of the like. Of course, he couldn't see her though, being blind and all. It was really annoying, this disability that he has, though it has helped him have a different perspective on things and the world. He'd prefer being able to see then not, though he has gotten used to it at this point. The thing that bothers him about being blind is not the fact that it hinders him from doing things, but the little things that he used to enjoy seeing without even realizing; blood pouring from his victims, tortured faces of the damned, how his sister looked, the light slowly faded as someone dies. It's the little things. Things that over these months, probably a year or over a year at this point, that upsets him more then anything.
The boy listened to his sister as she weakly spoke, spending quite a bit of energy to sense the presences of the people that they were looking for. One of his hands would go to the top of his head to rest on his sister's hands, giving her a slight pat, as if to tell her that she did good without actually saying it. The point would probably get across, them being as close as they were with being brother and sister. The weird sort of unspoken language that people, especially siblings, have between each other that not much other understood. Then he would proceed to use both his hands to gingerly take her off his shoulders, getting her into bridal style hold in his long arms, before gently setting her on the ground. Though keeping his hands on her so she didn't fall. When hearing what Lumière (he still didn't think that was her name) said, his gaze shot towards her direction and gave a sharp, piercing glare. He didn't appreciate the belittling she was contacting upon his sister, even if that wasn't what it was or if it was but was not intended, the assassin was not happy with her. Though when was he ever? He decided to keep his mouth shut, refraining himself from snarky replies, curse words and maybe some threats. She did actually provide some use after all, though he still did want to kill her. But who did he not want to kill besides his sister? Exactly.

Run Back to the Wild • Private, Job [Lucius & Hikari] Empty Re: Run Back to the Wild • Private, Job [Lucius & Hikari]

Post by Guest 6th December 2017, 10:26 am

The noble's intentionally, or perhaps not intentionally, scolding hit like dagger's into the elf's skin. The only reason she had pushed herself so far with the ability in the first place was because she was trying to impress the woman, and to also kind of assert her dominance as the toughest mage among the three of them. It was kind of like an animal's instinct, trying to take down a new contender for alpha. Hikari was not stronger than her, even Astrid knew that. Their rank gap was too big to even be comparable. But even so just the sheer amount of grace and holiness the red head gave off seemed to be intimidating Astrid more than any X-rank mage could. She saw it as a threat to her pride, to all the times she had to push herself to act like an actual noble herself.
But even when she tried, it only seemed to make matters worse. She tried to impress Lumière, but all she got was a scolding, like some kind of child.
The slayer visibly winced at her words, clearly wounding the pride she tried so hard to protect.
It was like she was back in school again, getting told off for being too clumsy and dropping things.
Purple eyes looked away from Lumière, a small frown forming onto her lips.
Her words were right, she did push herself too far. She was the strongest out of all of them, and when the time came they would need her power to push through the enemies. She hated admitting it, but she was wrong. She had made a novice mistake of trying to show off, and hurt herself in the processes.
Astrid wiped the streak of blood from her nose with her arm. A little gross to some people, but well they didn't exactly have anything else to clean it up with. She would just need a shower when she got home.
She let Lucius bring her down, still visibly somewhat depressed by her idiotic actions. The young guild master might have been taking her words to heart maybe a bit too much. In reality, the holy mage was simply trying to help her. But any scolding the silvernette received still took quite the blow to her. She had never been good at taking criticism, as she already had a tendency to dig into herself from time to time. So hearing someone else criticize her, especially someone she was trying so hard to impress, it was more heartbreaking than anything else.
Which, is probably why she didn't refuse to let Lumière use the ability she had kept hinting at all this time. Flight.
Now standing next to Lucius firmly upon the ground she watched as the young woman flew upwards to get a better look around the area. While Astrid's ability allowed her to know where living creatures were, Hikari's was maybe more practical for actually navigating around the area. Now that they knew where their targets where, now they needed to know how to get there.
During this short time Astrid exchanged a glace with Lucius. Not that he would know, as for the whole blind thing, but she did it just to check up on him. The pat upon her hand before he brought her down from his shoulders had not gone unnoticed, just simply pushed to the back of her mind while she concentrated on the scolding. It made her not feel entirely dumb or useless, as now that she was calming down from the initial blow it was just her own mind messing with itself. Which was good, seeing how much of this mission they had left to go. Her brother could be compassionate, he really could. She wished people could see that side of him. But for some reason, it didn't tend to come out that much unless it was her.
Her frown eventually formed back into her small smile, before she looked back to the holy mage.

... Creatures? Gathering already? Astrid had sensed quite a few around here, but none that were particularly bothered with them or angry. They must be fast, if they managed to change their course within such a sort time frame. But still, they should not bother with the animals of this world. They were not the threat.
Astrid began to sense the heard surrounding them. A few hiding in the bushes to the left, a few to the right. Lumière was right, they did not seem to want to fight. Merely watch, for now at least.
"We did not come here to fight innocent animals. If they wish to observe, let them. But if they do get in our way, we will have to ward them off. Violence is the last option." She wasn't one for fighting animals, not most of the time anyway. The last time she punched a wolf during a mission with Kite, she had literally broke down crying. But that was ages ago. Now she knew sometimes, even animals could be against her and own own goals. Just like humans. It would not be her first call, to fight the animals. As long as they did not interfere with their objective they would be fine. But the minute they bore their fangs, the group would have no choice.
The elf grabbed a hold of Lucius' hand, and squeezed it lightly before dropping it and looking back to Lumière.
"I will go on ahead to scout out the area near where i sensed the intense emotions. I can still feel their soul energy, so i will have no trouble pinpointing their location. I am trusting you to look after him." Splitting up? What could possible go wrong? Well it's not like Astrid didn't have her reasons. She needed to get closer to that area, and fast. She was the only one who could handle her light speed, as her body had grown accustom to it.
That and well, she just really didn't want to keep focusing on how the holy mage made her feel useless. So she felt like she had to do something to redeem herself.
Lucius would be fine on his own for the most part, but she added in that final sentence just because you could never be too careful. He could look after himself, but that didn't mean she wouldn't worry about him.
"À bientôt~" Before either one would be able to respond to her plan, the elf would disappear into a bright silver light, and seemingly just vanish.

    IF NOT NOW,

    ■ 4001/4000 WORDS ■

    WHEN?

If looks could kill, Hikari would have been far past the point of death. Between Lucius’ death glare and the smile of Astrid that didn’t entirely seem to be in the right place, it just felt like she was doing it to potentially reassure her brother that she was fine. But, when the noblewoman had expressed her concern, or perhaps based on her word choice, it might have been a scolding, she saw the way each word impacted Astrid. But at that point, it was too far to take the each of them back. The truth was always better than blind praise. It was amazing of Astrid to pinpoint the location of the poachers, however she put herself in a very vulnerable position. Had someone attacked while she was focusing, it could have resulted in someone ending up wounded. Although, while both Hikari and Lucius were standing by, you cannot just assume the best will always happen. So, Hikari felt like she had to point it out as opposed to praising the silver-haired woman, but that wound up hitting her a lot harder that expected. Hikari looked at the ground and sighed. She had the tendency to overstep her boundaries, and say a lot more than she really meant to but that was just a part of her that she could never get rid of. She meant well but she doesn’t know what Astrid is like beyond her name honestly. She’s never truly gotten to know her. Upon looking at Lucius once again, Hikari was not phased by his piercing gaze. Perhaps if this right after the moment they met, she might have reacted to the glare. However, upon seeing how well he gets along with his sister, Hikari knew she needed to be careful about how she acted with Lucius, but forgot to consider how she acted with Astrid. She took her teasing somewhat too far and now the towering male probably wants to kill her but, the redhead had seen glares far more intense, not that his wasn’t. It’s just that she has already seen people look at her with such disdain that she is almost numb to the effects of a glare. If anything, Hikari was more upset with herself when she saw Astrid’s sad face because she’s always used to people hiding how the feel. It’s pretty easy to hide behind a mask so seeing Astrid be truly sad kind of shocked the holy mage. It made the atmosphere between her and the two siblings feel even more tense than it was before. And just like majority of the time, it’s her fault.

Hikari had heard Astrid’s comments about the animals loud and clear. The main reason she had pointed out this is solely due to the fact that it might have alarmed one of the two if the animals had spooked them further along on their job. In the panic, they might have assumed it was a poacher and attacked. These animals felt like guardians and they might have been alerted by the use of magic, ready to defend in case there were more poachers. Hikari’s playful smirk that she had been upkeeping immediately fell when she noticed Astrid’s small hand grab Lucius’ and squeezed it for support before saying something to her. Hikari had more of a pained smile on her face as she nodded to Astrid’s plan before ready to say something until Astrid mentioned looking after Lucius. The thought of that made the redhead want to fall over laughing. He’s ready to attack anything, especially Hikari right now, why would she want to be the one watching over him. Hikari wasn’t going to protest but wanted to wish Astrid safety while they split up but when the thought came into her head, the silver-haired woman already had disappeared in a flash of silver light. Sighing, Hikari looked at the forest ahead of her and then switched her gaze to Lucius, she really didn’t need two things to worry about killing her today. So, despite the pained expression on her face, the Rising Star would say with confidence, Instead of thinking about all the things you want to insult me, threaten me with and overall how much you might despise my being, please just say it to my face. Hikari would begin to walk around Lucius and further down the forest trail before stopping and turning to speak once again. I know I overstepped my boundaries, I know I can’t want you to hurt me any less than you do right now, but I’m sorry for what I did and I intend to apologize to Astrid. I… don’t know her well and it’s simply in my nature to act teasingly. Hikari put her hands behind her back, Just insult me, threaten me, and make any comebacks you feel necessary. I deserve it. I pushed her too far and I hurt her unnecessarily. I won’t ask anything else of you. I feel like I’ve burdened you enough. I’ll be telling Astrid this too, so don’t worry. This isn’t just something to get you to not want to attack me, even though, it probably won’t help that. I just want it to feel even. Say whatever you feel is necessary as I won't tell Astrid anything. After all, I feel like I don't deserve to look her in the eye after seeing what I did. Walking forward a little bit before pausing and breathing a deep sigh, Hikari wouldn’t look back at Lucius but would say, If you ever want to curse my name, it’s Lilium by the way. She’d keep on walking but not dwelling on the fact she dropped her real name as opposed to her alias. It only felt fair. If Lucius ever did care enough to remember her name, he’d probably find out with ease about who she once was. But, Hikari felt like she burdened the two enough today, so now he can hold something against her should the two ever run into each other again.

The walk eastwards was making the two walk slightly off the trail so, now careful steps and paying attention needed to be made, as Hikari was unfamiliar with this landscape.  There was a lot of extra foliage, so while walking, there was many branches at her face height that needed to be moved. Sighing, she would look around before noticing a distinct glowing green aura. Athena warned Hikari of the hostility present moments before the bushes rustled and a pack of green wolves hopped out and growled at Hikari and Lucius. In this case, violence was the only option as these wolves seemed bloodthirsty but out of control, and upon further notice, the wolves had anklets on their legs. They had already been captured by the poachers and someone was controlling them. Perhaps violence could be avoided. Hikari didn’t want to have to risk Lucius wanting to attack her as well in this situation, but she whispered, These wolves… they are attacking us against their will. They are wearing anklets to be tracked but I think there are poachers nearby sustaining some spell on them. Hikari looked around but didn’t see anything in direct line of sight. Looking at the wolves, who growled once again, they seemed ready to pounce onto whoever moved first, so Hikari stood firm, ready to defend or attack based on what Lucius’ response was. The holy mage didn’t plan on moving until one of the wolves actually attacked one of the two so, unless Lucius moved, the wolves would remain ready to attack.

Lucius kept his crimson glaring eyes on the holy mage, though they were blind, the look on his face and how he was staring right at her made it seem like he could see just fine. Though angry with the redhead, he didn't ignore the words his elder sister said beside him. But he didn't really take it to heart. Violence is the last option? Yeah right, he was going to keep himself under control enough not to kill their job partner, but despite them being here to save he animals, he doubt he could keep himself from bringing upon their demise. A shame really, but if you didn't want anybody to die on a mission, maybe you shouldn't have brought along a psychopathic assassin who let's off steam by doing just that. Though he stayed silent, saying anything like that to his pacifistic sister would surely get him solid smack to the back of his head (sort of ironic am I right?). His gaze softened slightly and was pulled away when he felt Astrid's hand squeeze his, probably doing so for some sense of support, or just saying she understood this wasn't where he wanted to be and he would have to deal for a little longer. It could mean many things.
The rest of her words confused the young adult, first of all, why the hell was she going to leave him alone with this stranger he was currently upset with. Where was the intelligence in that exactly? I suppose she assumed he wouldn't do anything to hurt her, in fear of what the silvernette would do to punish his behaviors. Secondly, why did he have to be watched over, perhaps it was just her protectively instincts saying such. But why would this 'Lumière' even want to watch over him, he was pretty sure they got off on the wrong foot just a minute or two ago, so why exactly would she? This confusion was shown on his facial features for a second, two at most, before he turned it back to the grim and irritated expression that he was wearing beforehand. He finally decided he was going to speak, simply to say something in objection to his sister's plan, mostly with the fact that he was going to be left alone with this stranger. But before he could, she vanished. He swore rather colorfully under his breath, great, just great.
So the first thing he did after that was just glare at the regal young woman, he didn't really want to talk to her, and was showing that very obviously on his expression. Lucius was surprised the words she spoke, I guess it was rather obvious that he was thinking some rather dark things to bring upon her, but he wasn't expecting her to be so blunt since people usually aren't. His red gaze followed the sound of her footsteps, hearing her walk around him and proceed down the path in front of them. His face remained expressionless besides the neutral one he usually has, as he listened to the words that escaped the woman's lips. Her voice showed that she was clearly apologetic, criticizing herself for her actions, regretting what she said and excepting verbal punishment from not only herself but the young man behind her.
Most people would probably forgive her, be the normal people of society who have actual empathy. Lucius on the other hand, well he wasn't much for following and doing what people suggest he should or shouldn't do, took Lumière up on her offer. Though as she just revealed to him with her back turned, her actual name was Lilium. He knew what Astrid called her wasn't her actual name, how his sister was sometimes this ignorant and forgetful was beyond his understanding. Though I guess a lot of people seemed idiotic to a supposed genius like himself. But the holy mage said it with reluctance, enough the be confused about, and to wonder why she said it like such. But he wasn't curious enough nor did he care enough to try and get her life story.
"Well Lilium" he said in his slightly gravelly voice with resentment, exaggerating her name, saying it with such distaste that it made it seem like he was referring to a rotten animal that had been rotting on the side of the road. "I wish to flay you slowly while you still live and breath. After that I'll tie you to a stake and burn you." the boy paused, taking a breath, he wasn't quite over yet " And if you don't die from the shock and unbearable pain before I put the fire out. I'll leave you to die alone where nobody will hear your painful cries for help. Animals will pick at your disgusting, rotting, skinless flesh as if you were dead. And you'll be a pile of bones before you're ever found." he said bitterly like spending all that time killing her might even be to much for him, spitting venomous words at her, the threats were not empty and he would full well carry them out with ease. He walked behind her, and to calm himself he took in a deep and heavy breath, as he released it he said with solemn displeasure "Though I suppose that'll have to wait for another day"
The dark mage just continued on, walking behind her, waving his cane from side to side in front of him. He stayed silent as if he didn't just threaten to bring brutal torture and death upon the Black Rose sorceress. The boy groaned slightly upon hearing her speak again, of course they couldn't just deal with everything quickly and silently. His crimson gaze looked in the direction of the wolves that he was guessing just stood ready to fight, waiting of a bit of movement, just one twitch to justify their attack. He guessed Lilium would do as his sister instructed and not kill them, they are just being controlled after all, so it's not fair to them to end their lives. It isn't their fault. He really couldn't care less, why would he? He's never cared for the welfare of animals or humans.
Without considering the damage it might do to her if she didn't dodge, well he might've and is why he is doing this attack in particular, he sent out a pulse through the ground. It would knock back people nearby and hit them with a nice chunk of damage, as long as they were on the ground. Ignoring the redhead he unsheathed his sword from his it's hiding place as his cane and suddenly teleported into the shadows next to the weirdly colored alien wolves. He stabbed the flank of a wolf that was just getting back onto it's feet, twisting the blade before slicing it down the span of their side. Before another wolf could attack him he teleported into a tree, sheathing his sword he'd shoot repetitively into the one that was about to attack him. Three shots into it's skull and another couple in their heart. A bit much, but with everlasting ammo, he couldn't care less.
The some if not all of the remaining wolves would go to attack him, or attempt to, snarling and growling whilst clawing on the tree he resided in. He'd manipulate the darkness around him, shaping it into a needle. With unbelievable precision for being a blind man, he threw it into the skull of one of the wolves beneath him. Purplish black veins would spread from the needle in their skull, they'd drop back down to all fours, completely motionless. Then suddenly it'd lunge at it's pack mates, biting into their throat and ruthlessly tearing it out. If you could teared your eyes away from the grueling scene of the wolves, you could see that Lucius was controlling this wolf. He used it to bite and scratch at the other wolves, biting at vital areas to end them quickly. While doing this he'd shoot any that would attempt to defend themselves.
When he saw that the some that were attack him were dead or at least close to that, he'd leap down from the tree directly onto the wolf he was in control of. The pure force of his weight with the momentum of him falling added crushed the canine's skull like it was an egg with a satisfying crunch. The assassin took in a deep breath, enjoying the aroma of the freshly spilled blood, the silence and tension that hung in the air after he massacred a pack of innocent wolves. Well maybe not all of them if Lilium managed to save one from the young man's wrath. After taking another deep breath he spoke in an aloof tone of voice "Well, moving on." He looked in the direction of the mage, as if waiting for her to lead the way, he couldn't see the path after all, and it was sort of hard to feel where it was with his walking stick.

Run Back to the Wild • Private, Job [Lucius & Hikari] Empty Re: Run Back to the Wild • Private, Job [Lucius & Hikari]

Post by Guest 2nd February 2018, 9:17 pm

It was time to put this situation to a stop, once and for all. Not because she was embarrassed by her actions, though that did help fuel her as she continued onward by herself through the thick forests of Tetsukazu. But, even if they had forgotten during their initial meeting, there were animals to rescue and poachers to teach a lesson to. Illegal animal trading and killing was just wrong, that would be obvious to most if not all people. Just because they were animals doesn't mean they have any less right than humans. In fact, with having human hybrids species all around both Fiore and Earthland you would think they would be a lot more strict with their laws and rights regarding them. But she supposed a few stragglers would pass by the Magic Council's noses, and they wouldn't listen to reason or consider the animals they were hurting's feelings. Which just gave Astrid even more of a drive to shut this operation down, being quite the animal lover herself.
The elf raced through the enclosed branches and shrubs, a trail of silver light following closely behind. It was a little tough to traverse this terrain, mostly because it was overrun by the vegetation. Every once in a while Astrid almost got caught up in a loose hanging vine or a conveniently placed rock, but going as such high speeds, it did not really effect her balance much.
So when she so close to the destination of which the soul waves came from and she found herself becoming trapped, it was a problem.
A misplaced step was all it took. Something had caught her foot. It through her off course, and despite having a fast reputation, even she could not react to everything that was happening so fast. At first, she was falling, and then her body hit full force against some tightly knotted ropes. A gasp could not even leave her lips as her body was thrown against itself and she was hoisted up into the air.
Wide, purple eyes blinked, unsure of what just happened. It took a couple of seconds, staring at her round prison of ropes until it clicked. She was caught in a trap. This specific kind kind of looked like the kind of traps cartoon characters would set in order to trap one another. A simple, yet apparently effective way of doing so. "You've got to be kidding me" the elf mumbled under her breath, violet orbs narrowing with a frown. First she was scolded, now she was caught up in a trap. This was already beginning to look like an annoying job. To think she wanted to get this done quickly...
In an attempt to break free she wriggled awkwardly in the small space the rope trap allowed her, tugging free one of her arms from behind her back. A silver glow covered it, forming one single sharp pyramid shape on the tip of her index finger. She raised it upward, beginning to try to scratch at the weak ropes in order to break them in half. But a few moments passed, and the rope seemed completely fine, not a single scratch one it. She gritted her teeth, filing more intensely at the ropes. But still, nothing happened. "What?? Come on..." she grumbled, continuing to file even more intensely, only to get no results. This was some pretty intense thread... Not a single tear anywhere. Though that did make sense. If they were going to trap magical animals, they needed strong enough traps to hold them... But she didn't realize this would be THIS tough.
Seeing no progress she leaned backwards into the ropes, letting out a defeated huff.

    Now what?
