When nature meets slime [Private/Social]

It has been quite a while now since Leila visited Earthland. Ever since her guild was destroyed in her absence, she felt… unwell whenever it came down to that specific world. She simply was not ready to interact with it in any way. And so, she retreated back into her world, the Gardens of Eden. There, she had spent most of her days for the last few months. However, while it was perfectly fine to stay there, the other spirits started to be somewhat worried that the girl would lose her touch with the world. And so, here she was, once again traversing the border between worlds.

Straight from the Gardens, she had warped to Tetsukazu. It seemed like a perfect world for Leila to spend time in. Filled with nature that was completely untouched by humanity, no settlements anywhere. The air was clear and easily breathable compared to Earthland and wildlife ruled the land. As usual, she also transformed her own body so that no one would recognize her from distance. Once again she had taken on the appearance of a white wolf, whose top half was covered in lush green moss. This way, she appeared to be but another magical creature of this world rather than a mage.

This was what she would do every time she visited a different world now. Not to mention that such transformation would make her fit in with the rest of the feral animals, so they would not run away. Unless they saw her as a local predator, of course. But she was not too interested in trying to interact with the animals here right now. She just wanted to relax a bit, lay down in the tall grass and be bathed in the Sun’s warm embrace. And so she did, finding a sunny spot and lowering her wolf body on the grass-covered ground. A loud yawn would escape from her as she closed her eyes.

But not for too long. Something was happening it seemed. The ground started vibrating and eventually forced the transformed girl to get back up and look around. Many different animals seemed to be running out of a nearby forest. Was something happening there? The fact that the wildlife was moving out in such numbers and with such hurry that it became a little bit suspicious. Since Leila had absolutely nothing else to do, she figured that she might as well check it out, too. As she closed in on the forest, a strange smell has entered her nose. A strangely familiar one. Was that… slime?

As uncommon as slime was, Leila actually met a slime mage on her journey. Megumi Tireheart was her name. She was a self-proclaimed slime witch, though she didn’t actually have proper magic and was only researching the living type of slime. And there was not much in terms of results, either. But there was no way Megumi could be in this place right now, she was on the other side of the continent of Earthland! There was definitely something strange going on. Only a few seconds of walking into the forest, she saw it with her own eyes. There was slime all over the trees, slowly working its dissolving process.

The way it was all around, it didn’t quite seem natural. Unsure of how to react to this or how to research such thing, the girl would jump into the air, flipping her body as it transformed inside of a whirl of magic. The form that landed back on the ground was her humanoid one rather than a wolf. Though she still had her wolf ears that replaced the regular human ones, as well as a wolf tail coming from her lower back. Her outfit was rather fancy for the area and of a midnight blue color with crimson red inside. This way, she could interact with the environment a bit better, using hands with thumbs and all that.

Walking a little bit further, she suddenly felt something else. A magical signature, there was something with magic around. Not too powerful, but strong enough for it to on the same level as a regular mage. Rather curious, the silver-haired maiden would walk through the forest until she found the source of this magic. A seemingly young girl with pink hair and wearing some kind of uniform. “You!” She would try to get her attention with a simple shout and then make few steps forward. “What are you doing here? This are appears to be infested with slime, it’s a bit dangerous.”

Leila had expected several things to possibly take place here. But none of them transpired as she instead got something extremely unusual, and frankly, a little bit concerning to her. Whoever this female was, her confidence in her actions spelled trouble. Especially when she knew perfectly well that the slime was actually harmless and perfectly fine for consumption. Or rather, it was safe for her. If anyone else would attempt the same, the end result could easily be much different. This already placed the seeds of doubt within the wolf girl as she started intently as the pink-haired one.

Her eyes would only narrow as this continued, the other girl nonchalantly getting up and completely ignoring the possible severity of this situation. And the more the other girl spoke, the more concerned Leila got, as she took a step forward and assumed a slightly more aggressive stance with one hand on the blade that adorned her back. In the corner of her vision, she saw the slime moving and confirmed her theory. It was most likely this very female that spread it all over this place. To what end, she had absolutely no idea as of right now. But it clearly was for nothing good.

And yet, the Void Spirit would remain perfectly still. At least until the moment when her cheek was suddenly licked, a point at which she would jerk back and unsheathe the weapon, moving it toward Nishi’s neck in an instant. Though, of course, it would stop before it would actually cut the other girl’s flesh. “Stop playing games and tell me who you are! All this slime is your work, isn’t it? What are you hoping to accomplish here?” Honestly, she wasn’t quite sure why she was confronting this other girl about it all. She really shouldn’t care at all. But here she was…
