Description: Dark Écriture is a caster type magic that uses dark oriented runic script to achieve an effect or a set of rules. These runes are able to be written absolutely anywhere, including on the air. It is a tremendously versatile magic that is limited only to the amount of time the user has to write out their parameters, and can be used to create extremely complicated spells and traps if given enough time. Some of the many uses of this type of magic is using it to harm or poison someone, to trap someone or a group of people, to increase one's own physical or magical limits, and to reduce an opponent's in the same way. The mind and one's grasp of the language used is the only limits to this magic.
When in Mitsuo's hands, he uses Dark Écriture in a fairly defensive way. If given time he will lay intricate traps that will ensure that his enemies have difficulty harming him, and inflict a multitude of different effects on them. He also uses it in order to give himself and his comrades boosts to certain of their own physical attributes, though this is generally not his preferred way of using this magic. He ideally chooses not to fight and to instead trap his foes, but when it is needed he will use his script to augment himself.
Strengths:
-Extremely Versatile magic, able to be used defensively and offensively
-Runes can be written absolutely anywhere, so long as the user can move his hands or a tool in his hand.
-Able to be strong in any situation depending on the power level of the mage using it
Weaknesses:
-You must be able to use your hands/writing tool to cast these spells, as it is all written text
-You must have knowledge of the correct runes to use for the spell before it is cast
-If written incorrectly, the spell will either not work, or potentially have harmful repercussions to the user
-Depending on the complexity of the spell, spells cast with this type of magic can take an extremely long time with high concentration, as it is writing.
Lineage: Maelstrom
Description: One of your many, many ancestors was an experienced and renowned sailor. The reason he was so good with the water was because he was also a master water mage, being able to literally "push" even the biggest of whirlpools aside to another area to make way for his ship, the S.S. Maelstrom. He was respected by every other sailor who knew of such feats and perished along with his sinking ship, as he waited for the rest of his crew to escape the quickly falling boat first, a true captain's death.
Ability: The user of this lineage is able to move any water spell up to their own rank or lower(S Max) aside for what the MP would be for them to cast to move it themselves. Also, the user gains a water spell(Max S) in addition to their spells where they control nearby water for some use.
Usage: Moving a water spell has a 5 post cooldown and is not a redirection but simply moving it. The water spell created will need a water source to be used.
Unique Abilities:
Eidetic Memory: Mitsuo has an eidetic memory, meaning that he is able to remember anything he sees. He has used this to gain a mastery of the runic language and utilizes this in order to cast his spells. If he ever comes across new runes he is able to instantly put them to memory to use them later. If the runes are used in lost magics he finds them nearly impossible to read, as he has no knowledge of their origin or personal language.
SwordScribe Mitsuo has learned how to write his runes using his sword, and is able to write on the air with the tip of his blade in the middle of battle. He uses this ability to cast his spells without having to have a free hand or a pen, a very useful tool to have in his arsenal when he is presented with a situation where he must defend himself.
Keen Hearing: Mitsuo himself is well attuned with his surroundings due to his anxiety which has made it so that he is always alert, his sense of hearing having been used the most for this. He therefore has exceptionally good hearing due to always trying to detect how many people are around him and where exactly they or any moving objects are within 15m of him. The drawback to this is that it is impossible to turn off and if there is an extremely loud noise within his range it can temporarily disorient him, and if it is something like an explosion temporarily deafen him for 1 post.
Touch of Darkness: All of the spells that Mitsuo casts using this type of magic are a tainted with darkness. When he casts them, dark runes surround the magic and the spell turns black. This taint, if eaten by a slayer, will cause the vision of the slayer to darken, causing them blindness for one post the first time used, two posts the second, and three the third. Any time after the third time. If the consumption of the magic lapses 1 round after the effect has worn off, the stack will reset to one post. They will also lose the benefits of eating a pure element, causing them to only gain half of the force they normally would gain.

Description: Mitsuo writes on a surface “All who step within this ground who wish ill will against Mitsuo shall not speak”, setting into place the parameters of the rules of the spell. This script will cover a ground with a 30m radius and anyone who steps within that area who is hostile towards Mitsuo will not be able to speak. Once this spell nullifies one hostile spell it is removed.
Strengths:
-Prevents magic that uses a vocal component from being cast
Weaknesses:
-Only useful against magic that uses the voice
-If the enemy is not hostile towards Mitsuo, it will not work

Description: Mitsuo writes on a surface “Let he who casts this spell sprout wings so that he may know the freedom of flight.” A pair of dark magic infused wings will sprout from his back made of the runes for air, allowing him to take flight at 5 meters per second for the duration of the spell.
Strengths:
-Ability to fly
Weaknesses:
-Flight speed is fairly slow, being similar to running speed
-There is a very limited time on the flight ability
-If the user is in the air when the spell wears off they will fall.

Description: Mitsuo writes the runes “Orb of Darkness” in the air in front of him. When this is done, the runes will spin together, creating the orb out of the runes used for the spell, and they will then project themselves towards the target in a straight line. Once the orb has formed it will move forward 15m at a speed of 10m/s and if it strikes it will do 20hp of damage.

-Damaging spell
Weaknesses:
-Linear so can be dodged fairly easily
-Runes surrounding the magic make it fairly easy to spot.

Description: Mitsuo writes the runes “Let he who steps into this area be consumed by darkness and be hindered by it.” in the air in front of him. When someone steps within the radius of the spell a dark magic oriented haze will cover the 30m area, making it difficult to see through. Anyone of equal rank will have a 50% harder chance reacting to visual queues, one rank above will have a 25% harder chance of reacting to visual queues, and anyone 2 ranks above or higher will completely ignore the effect.

-Makes it difficult to see

-Effects foes, friends and the user himself.
-The other four senses work perfectly, meaning that non sight based reactions will not be effected

Description: Mitsuo writes the runes “Refusal” in the air in front of him. When written out, this spell will redirect one projectile within 30m of him. If the spell repelled is one rank higher than Refusal or higher, it will simply have its damage reduced by 25% instead.

-Only works against projectiles
-Only works on a spell that is in front of the script, does not block Mitsuo’s sides or back.

Description: Mitsuo writes out the words “Let he who casts this spell walk the veil between the worlds so that no damage may come to him.” He will become semi ethereal, taking on a faint purple aura from the dark element that infuses all of his spell. His speed will be increased by 25% for the duration of the spell. Physical attacks of the same rank will hit him 50% less, one rank up will do 75% damage, and anything above that will be able to do full damage. Any spell entering C Rank max range will be effected by this spell. This ability will cause his weapon to similarly shift, making it so that it does 25% less damage than usual. With this ability, assuming it is within his normal walking distance to do so, Mitsuo will be able to walk through thin walls.

-Makes him tougher to hit in close combat

-Non physical magic still does full damage
-Damage dealt is cut down in this form

- Name: Dark Écriture: Darkness Spike

Description: Mitsuo writes the runes “May the target of this spell suffer in agony, Darkness Spike” in the air in front of him. When written out, this spell will cause a circle to form underneath a target, a spike of dark magic coming out of the ground from the circle. There is a delay between the circle being formed and the spike casting. This delay works like a projectile speed, moving at 60m/s towards the distance, which can be anywhere within 120m of the caster. It will inflict 40hp of damage if it hits.

Description: Mitsuo writes the runes “Ray of Darkness” in the air in front of him. When written out, this spell will project a ray of dark elemental magic at the target surrounded by runes, provided they are within blast range of the user rank (maximum S Rank). This travels in a straight line, so it is possible to be dodged.

Description: Mitsuo slices his sword in the air in front of him and the word pain appears on his target's chest. When written out, this spell will cause the user to feel immense pain running through their bodies. This pain will cause them great discomfort and physical agony, but will not do any real damage (will not immobilize) other than being distracting. This spell can effect someone within 20m of Mitsuo at a speed of 20m/s. This spell is purely cosmetic and does no real damage.
