Obtaining a Driver's License (Job, Solo)

The very moment Samira entered Motor City all she could hear was the clink clanking of all the tinkering going on throughout the area. It was distracting and the whole city itself was one she would of wanted to avoid altogether. The smell of used machinery and grease was not at all pleasant and a lot of the workers were absolutely filthy. She forced herself to ignore all of it for the sake of successfully obtaining a driver's license. It was not an item exactly required since using the train transportation system was a common option and she was quite capable of walking. Still, one could never know when the opportunity to drive a vehicle would present itself. Not to mention her spirits had convinced her to be more responsible and to be prepared for any scenario, including driving. While she took no issue with driving a vehicle unlicensed if it came down to being the only solution some of her spirits frowned upon the idea and like some annoying parent would surely scold her if she did so. Rather than argue, she traveled to the city of engineers, mechanics, and tinkerers to get through the required driving test.

'Monster Dice' :

Eventually the Motor City streets led the summoner to the building that issues the licenses and the tests. Upon entering there was a rather long line that went at a speed that made the passport giveaway line look fast. All of the desk clerks moved at the speed of a sloth! Apparently suffering through the wait was what happened when someone did not bother to make an appointment for the test. She stood in the line and waited patiently until it was her turn to speak to someone and once that was over and done with she was led to another area of the building where she would do even more waiting. Exciting.

As she sat in one of the rather uncomfortable and cheap chairs, Samira allowed her mind to drift off until a woman approached her. "Hey, you here for the test?" Her current thought process was destroyed as the voice broke her concentration and her green eyes stared at the woman with disapproval. Surely the strange woman did not work there. She was dressed in old clothes that likely hadn't been washed in a few days with a large jean jacket tossed on in a likely attempt to cover up that fact. Her hair was pulled into a messy ponytail with a cap covering the top locks. Going with her theory that it must of been some other test taker Samira ignored the question. The woman yawned and stretched out her arms. "Well if you don't want to take the test then that's okay. I can take a nap instead." That settled it. The lady that did not seem to have a care in the world really would be her driving instructor. "No, forgive me," Samira said as she stood up and lightly bowed her head. "I am ready for your instructions and will do my best to pass." The woman just laughed and waved the words away as she turned to head out the door to where the test cars were kept. "Don't take this so seriously. Really."

Don't take it so seriously was the right advice. It was hard to concentrate when not even the instructor seemed to give a damn about her own job. The two were soon in one of the test vehicles and once it was started up Samira took it to the streets. She was careful to read all of the signs and to keep her eyes on the road. Doing such a thing naturally came easy for her with her personality, but even with her amount of patience she was beginning to lose it. The driving instructor made all sorts of redundant distractions from messing with the radio until her favorite song came up so she could dance in her seat and sing, to opening the passenger side window and shouting at random pedestrians and other drivers asking them if that old lady gave them their licenses since they completely sucked at driving. A few eyetwitches were made throughout the twenty minute process but eventually the test was over and Samira could leave the vehicle to get some much needed air. Being in a cramped vehicle was enough trouble, but to have the most chatty person beside her made things even worse. Thank the celestial realm she passed so she would never have to come back and meet the woman again.
