The topic of Slayers and what elements they can eat has recently been brought in to question.
First off, I'd like to avoid pointing fingers at what the rules currently state in regards to this subject, and move on to figuring out a solution to make Slayers, and more particularly Dragon Slayers a little more relevant.
The issue is in regards to "Mixed" or "Impure" elements. Dragon Slayers can not eat a "Mixed" element and in my own opinion this has led to a lot of abuse in Magic Creation, in such a way as to loophole around a Dragon Slayers ability to devour elements. Literally anyone can "Mix" their primary magic element by saying "Oh, my fire's Holy. Go F*ck yourself Dragon Slayer." Taking away a Dragon Slayers primary attraction.
These rules were original implemented for the SOLE purpose of making God and Demon Slayers naturally more desirable, being the only ones who cannot be loopholed out of their own Ability to eat elements with the exception of the other and thus being naturally superior to Dragon Slayers. (Someone must also actually Pay and acquire VIP status to get.)
My proposal is to introduce an amendment to the Slayer Rules or Magic Rules in general, that make it so that a Primary Magic alone cannot fall under the "Mixed element" category. This does NOT mean people can't mix up their Primary magics. You can still call your fire Holy or Unholy, or even throw in some secondary effects. This only means that a Mage can NOT negate a Slayers ability to eat their element by throwing a few extra words in to your magic description.
Secondly, make it possible to create mixed elements only by means of a Secondary Magic. If you have Fire magic, and Holy fire... You can create a Holy Fire that can not be eaten by Dragon Slayers.
To Summarize, make it so a Single magic can not loophole their way out of being devoured by Slayers.
A more simple solution would be to remove the emphasis on Mixed elements... and make it so that it is not possible for Dragon Slayers to eat God or Demon Slayer elements Period... and leave it at that, and make no mention of Mixed elements.
Quite frankly I'm surprised everyone doesn't just throw in a few extra words to their magic description to avoid Dragon Slayers gobbling up their magic. Because as things are, that's exactly what people are capable of, and Dragon Slayers are in danger of being really really hungry and nowhere near as powerful as they were meant to be in the beginning.
