A Cursed Supper (Job - Solo)

Jozuma arrives at the perimeter of Beanstalk Village greeted by a gust of wind carrying the wondeful smell of countless fruits, veggies, and meats. Such a pleasant scent got Jozuma's bottomless pit of a stomach rumbling. "Ooh that smells so nice, I'm getting so hungry right now. I heard that this place is famous for its food too which just makes me want it even more." "Then what are we waiting for, I'm sure the village wouldn't mind giving us a forward payment of food before the job." The demon Jozuma is bound to named Calcifer, Jozuma also calls him "Cal" for short, shares the same pleasures Jozuma does so a hearty meal is enjoyable for him too. "Ya Cal let's kick it into gear." Jozuma picks up into a sprint towards the village. As the village comes into view the beautiful scenery he saw leading up to starts to become twisted and he notices an eerie green light emanating from the crop fields. "Well that's very ominous, we should probably hurry to the client to see whats going on." He makes his way to the village center, where the home of the village elder and the client lie. The village streets seemed almost deserted with everyone hiding in their homes, staring at the new arrival from their windows. He eventually arrived at the town center.

Jozuma arrives at the village center a notices an old man accompanied by a teenage girl waiting a large wooden building. The building clearly stood out among the others in the village. Jozuma approached the 2 in front of the building and gave a proper greeting. "Hello, my name is Jozuma I'm a wizard from Infinity Hydra here to solve the problems you've been having with your crops." He turns to the glow in the distance. "I can see that things are very serious over here please tell me what you can about the situation." "Of course, thank you young wizard for answering our call for help allow me to introduce myself; I am the village elder Oltum, I'm in charge of overseeing and advising the village, and this young lady is the Anya tour client and the daughter of the village's head farmers. They..." The girls looked down and her face scrunched up a little, clearly trying to hold back tears. Jozuma is all to familiar with that look, they're either missing or more likely dead. "Oh, I see, I'm sorry for what happened Anya but I'm here to help; what can you tell me." sniffle "It all started when a mysterious man, wearing strange dark robes, came to our village in search of some our famous food. We brought him a few plates really enjoyed it. To show his gratitude of our hospitality he offered to grow our upcoming harvest early. We never heard of such a thing and were very hesitant but we allowed him to perform the ritual out of curiosity." "I take it that didn't go well." "No it didn't, the crops grew and we were amazed but after a closer look at the fruits and veggies we found that they foul and tasted rotten, the harvest was ruined. We decided to kick the wizard out of village; my parents personally escorted him out and told him never to return. The wizard swore his vengeance for our supposed 'ungratefulness'. A few weeks later a green light spread across our fields and all of our crops withered, their vines turning black with thorns. We haven't been able to harvest our crops in days. So..." Anya took another pause, tears started to drip but she lifted up her head again and started to speak. "We formed a grou-" scream a loud scream came from the direction of the fields. "Something is going on." they all ran towards the fields to a very unusual sight.

In the fields were 5 giant Corn Plant Demons with white legs and arms, comedic red eyes, and mouths with sharp teeth. They appeared to be eating the crops causing them to wither even more than they already were. They honestly looked kind of cute and Jozuma would have felt a little bad about taking them out if it weren't for one little thing rolling in his mind. Oltum was terrified of the corn beasts. "What are these monsters!" "Our veggie culprits it looks like." Jozuma smiled and dashed toward them with frightening speed and one thing, one question going through his mind. What do they taste like? Jozuma hasn't eaten anything since he arrived at the village despite that being the thing he was most looking forward to. He was hungry, very hungry and the group of corn monsters before looked like a walking buffet. He tried to get the jump on one of them but it turned and saw him. "Corn?" The Corn Plant Demon ducked when Jozuma jumped at it causing him to fly over it. "Corn!" The Corn Plant Demon then proceeded to ram Jozuma in the gut for his uncalled for assault pushing him back a little. "Well that didn't work." "I HAVE TO KNOW!" Jozuma jumped again at the Corn Plant Demon this time sinking his teeth in it's body and getting good mouthful. "CORN?!?!?" The taste was odd but not exactly terrible to him though not exactly great either but it was good enough and more importantly there was ton of it, 5 giant corn creatures full of it in fact. So Jozuma's stomach took over and the most graphic devouring of produce the village has ever seen began. Jozuma rapidly started eating the Corn Plant Demon until there was nothing left, taking mouthful after mouthful in mere seconds. The Corn Plant Demon's screams echoed thoughout the field but he could only express himself in one word "Corn corn corn coOOOORRRNN!!!" The other Corn Plant Demons stood horrified at the sight of their brethren being devoured. After only a short moment, only the disembodied white legs and arms remained but Jozuma wasn't done, his stomach wasn't satisfied. "Hungryyy." He immediately dashed towards the pack of 4 a sunk his teeth into another one. "COO-orn..." The other Corn Plant Demons broke out of their shocked trance seeing that this had to stop before they were all eaten. "Corn Corn Cannorn!" one fired a stream of corn bullets as he was eating its brother hitting him dead on. groans with mouth full The corn bullets hurt like hell but it didn't phase his rate of feasting, his stomach was calling the shots now. He finished the 2nd Corn Plant Demon and moved on to the 3rd eating it as quickly as before and showing no signs of slowing down. "Corn Corn Cannorn!" The Corn Plant Demons fired another flurry or corn bullets but Jozuma was now on to them and threw the Corn Plant Demon in front of him using him as a veggie shield as he continued to devour him, their efforts unfortunately only put their brother in more pain. "Corn CORN CO-O-ORN COORN!!!" The Corn Plant Demons stopped firing and just watched as their 3rd brother was reduced to nothing but limbs. The villagers gathered outside the field following the sounds of "corn" being screamed and they were just as shocked at the sight and weren't sure if they were more frightened by the Corn Plant Demons or the hooded monster devouring them. The 2 remaining Corn Plant Demons were now terrified and started to run but Jozuma caught one of them before they even got a few steps away. "COOrrrnnnnn..." it's screams became quieter as the last remaining Corn Plant Demon, panicking, ran for it's life to get as far away as it could from the same fate, it didn't get far. Before it knew it Jozuma stood in front of it, tongue licking bits of corn from his face, and pointed to his stomach. "You. In my belly. Now." "Corn... corn... CANNORN!!!" In one last final stand the last Corn Plant Demon fired a flurry of corn bullets at Jozuma with all its might, it missed. Jozuma began devouring the last Corn Plant Demon as it spoke its last words. "Corn... you'll regret... cooorn." He finished the remaining Corn Plant Demon. burp "Ahh, that was great, wouldn't you say Calcifer." "Yep, but wow Jozu you were starting to scare even me a bit there." "What can I say I was hungry, but what did that last guy mean by I'll regret corn?" stomach bubbles "Uh oh." The thought finally hit him and he wasn't going to like what was going to happen next. The bubbles grow louder as he rushes back to the crowd of villagers, hand over his mouth.

Jozuma spends the rest of the day at the elder Oltum's home... barfing up chunks of evil corn bits. He lied on the floor of the restroom faced down towards the toilet. barf "Oh gosh!" barf "I told you the crops were rotten, what did you expect would happen eating a giant monster version of them." Anya stood outside the door to the restroom. barf "Ugh but I was so hungry, and they literally walking fo-" gag barf "You know I had a feeling this might happen, those things gave me odd vibes." "Thanks for the warning Cal!" barf "Hey, you were way too into it; you probably wouldn't have listened to me." Anya knocks on the door. "Are you talking to yourself now? Perhaps those veggies were worse than I thought." "No, I'm fine, well, not really but i will be soon enough." gag "I just... need a moment." After some time had past Jozuma had left the restroom and returned to the room Oltum lent him. Anya was there with some medication and some water. "Here, this should make you better in a jiff." Jozuma took the medication and in a few moments wracking stomach started to calm down; he then took some water and tried to continue where their conversation left off. "So before you were talking about some group after this curse started, I take it it has to do with what happened to your parents." Anya took a short pause and then started to speak. "Yes, when the curse arose we formed a group of my parents, myself, and some villagers to find the source of this crisis. We eventually found the wizard and it wasn't hard to put the pieces together, what happened after is till a blur to me. All I remember were vines erupting from the ground, screams, and my parents telling me to run... so I did." Jozuma could tell that this was a difficult subject for and gave her some of the water and a tissue, she drank and continued. "Though the entire village agreed with banishing him it was still my parents' decision and it was they who personally escorted him out. He wants them and now just me more than anyone else here, so though that the only way for us to fight a wizard was with a wizard which is why I sent a call for help to the guilds." Jozuma places his hand on her shoulder. "Well I'm here now, don't worry I'll get this guy for you and put an end to this curse on your village." Oltum's voice is heard from downstairs. "Anya, Jozuma come down dinner is ready!" Jozuma's face lights up. "YES, finally something edible!" "Are you sure you can still eat?" "You have no idea." Jozuma rushes downstairs, Anya walking behind him, and they enjoy a wonderful dinner. Jozuma loved the taste of the food, it was better an he imagined, and he had a large pile of plates next to him before long. Jozuma then went to sleep for the night to prepare for the challenges tomorrow would hold.

Jozuma woke up in the morning and started patrolling the perimeter of the fields with Oltum. After a short while another pack of Corn Plant Demons arrived bent on determined to to give payback for yesterday. "These guys again, well considering eating them is a bad idea I'll just have to fight." "Wait Jozuma, please be careful with your magic there might be some hope for these crops but not if you destroy them." sigh "Well that makes things a little more difficult but alright." Jozuma dashes towards to pack. "Eeh, we're more adept at breaking things but your Blitz Stance won't cause too much damage." "Yeah the Railgun too, it's small and I can just aim it over the crops." Jozuma stops in front of the Corn Plant Demons, their eyes glaring at him in anger. "CORN!" "Oh, so you remember me good. I gotta say I didn't appreciate the stomach ache you guys gave me. Maybe you'll be better as popcorn, BLITZ STANCE!!!" Jozuma's body becomes enveloped in lightning and he dashes through the pack, giving them a good shock and paralyzing them as he aims for the Corn Plant Demon in the back. Jozuma flashes all around it dealing 10 punches all over it's body each punch becoming stronger than the last. The Corn Plant Demon fell and Jozuma's attention turned to with an theory he had now now confirmed.

During his beat down of the Corn Plant Demon, he was able to confirm a theory he thought of while he was eating them the previous day. Besides on being very fast on their white, phantom like, legs they also use magic from their bodies to form their limbs so the area around their limbs is weaker and has softer skin than the rest of their body. If he focused his strikes on those points he can deal much more punishment to them. The Corn Plant Demons stood glaring at Jozuma, their bodies stiff and fidgeting as they were unable to move no matter how hard tried due to Jozuma's paralyzing touch. "You guys seem to be having a bit of trouble there. Come on I'll even give you one for free, give me your best shot right here." The Corn Plant Demons struggle and then finally start to move again. "C-o-o-rn." The Corn Plant Demons slowly get into position all fire a flurry of corn bullets at Jozuma, all the bullets fly through him though causing not so much as a scratch. "No? Alright then, I should probably finish you off before this state runs out." Sparks fly off Jozuma as he sprints at the remaining grouped Corn Plant Demons a full speed. He stops between them and lands a roundhouse on all of them giving them another paralysing shock and separating them from eachother with him in the center. He focuses on two of them going back in forth between them between each punch and focusing his attacks on the area around their limbs where their skin was softer. His fists punched into their bodies and he could feel their cold, squishy insides. The landed 5 blows to both of them taking them out as they fell into a mush. "Only 2 more left."

Jozuma's electrified body started tho flicker a little bit, the time for the Blitz Stance was running short. "The state is starting to fade, better make this quick." Before the last 2 Corn Plant Demons started to move again, Jozuma dashed towards them and, like the last 2 he killed, started throwing blows back and forth between them while focusing each strike on the area around their limbs. As the the last 2 Corn Plant Demons fell into a mush a crowd of villagers started form on the perimeter of the field. The villagers were amazed of Jozuma's display of magic as well as a bit relieved of the confirmation that he was here to help since his graphic scene yesterday didn't exactly leave the greatest first impression. Cheers erupted from the crowd as Jozuma started to make his way back from the field. Jozuma then stopped as he could sense another presence and felt the malefic aura wash over him again. "Looks like we're not done yet."

Jozuma turned around to see something different from what he had encountered so far. "Broc." A group of of Plant Demons with an unnerving shape. "Co." Their bodies were large and stretched, their heads split a and spread outward with bushes of green at the ends. "Li". They had glowing red eyes like the rest but theirs somehow felt fiercer; their fists were clenched and Jozuma could feel a huge wave of malefic aura emanating from them. "Broc-co-li." As they came into better view they appeared to be a squad of Broccoli Plant Demons. Jozuma could feel that these guys weren't like the Corn Plant Demons, they were stronger, much stronger. Jozuma ready himself for battle but before he knew it one of them was right in front of him and tried to throw a punch, he dodged the punch but only barely. To his surprise the Broccoli Plant Demon started to speak in words besides "broccoli". "Nice dodge you putrid shit, you have some feet on ya, formation boys." The Broccoli Plant Demons surrounded him with their fists raised. "This doesn't look good." The Broccoli Plant Demons started rushing him one after the other throwing punches. The Broccoli Plant Demons were much faster than their corn brothers, while Jozuma was still faster it was only barely and their fists were only a few centimeters away from him when he dodged a blow. "You can dodge us now pipsqueak but for how much longer can you keep this up." The rushdown continued. "We're in a tough spot here Jozu we need a plan." "I know! Damn, these guys are quick I can't get a hold of them." He dodges a few more blows, the Broccoli Plant Demons start talking in sync. "You think you can just waltz up." dodges "Halt our mission." dodges "Eat and slaughter our brothers!" dodges "And just walk away all dandy!?" dodges "HELL NO!!!" A Broccoli Plant Demon finally lands a punch in Jozuma's stomach and the pain jolts through his body. "You've caused us way too many problems shit stain, we're going to crush you and bury you like the smelly pile of fertalizer you are." "I don't smell that bad." "Quiet worm food! And after we're done with you we're going to get that girl and burn the village to the ground, the fields will be ours and our master will finally have his revenge." Jozuma continues to dodge more blows still barely keeping up as the villagers watch in horror. Anya's voice is heard from the crowd. "What the hell do the lot of ya think you're doing? This man is risking his life for us and you're just going to stand around and watch?" The crowds attention turns to her. "Beanstalk is our home, we worked hard every day to grow these crops. Are we going to let some overgrown veggies push us around and ruin our harvest!?" There is mumbling among the crowd until they erupt with a loud response. "NO!" "Then let's take arms to defend our home and show these bad seeds who's boss!" The Broccoli Demon Plants start to giggle a little bit. "Oh really? What are you going to do, hit us with shovels?" "YES, FOR BEANSTALK!" The villagers charge at the squad of Broccoli Plant Demons armed with pitchforks, shovels, and undying determination. "Uh oh." They quickly overwhelm the Broccoli Plant Demons, stabbing and beating them into submission. One of the villagers hands Jozuma a pitchfork and shovel and he joins the uprising. The battle was glorious and while the Broccoli Plant Demons tried to fight back they couldn't handle the shear number of the villagers. It wasn't long before one Broccoli Plant Demon remained and Jozuma stood before it, staring it down pointing his pitchfork. "I got this guy." Jozuma then throws the pitchfork at it's face, hitting him in the eye and causing it to writhe in pain "ARRGH SON OF A-."
