Job Title: Wanderer’s Journal 3 - For alchemy!
Rank: C
Player Requirements: Has to be done by Leila
Job Requirements: At least 6000 words
Job Location: Earthland ; Seven
Job Description: Come to the doorstep of great Decoctor and offer him your help with collecting rare samples for his newest potions! The payment is grand and will surely not disappoint you! Those are the words that echo through Seven these days, as fliers appear to be everywhere you look. This alchemist must really be desperate for help with collecting these ingredients and is willing to pay a good sum for job well done? Who in their right mind would not try to help this poor man out! Well, perhaps those that would stop and think about it a moment, asking the question of how come someone who offers a big reward is so desperate for help. In any case, you probably find yourself knocking in his doors one way or another.
Once they open, a man who is strangely close in appearance to a human-sized monkey will introduce you to his makeshift alchemy station, as well as give you a list of ingredients to gather. It turns out that all of them have to be harvested from monsters that roam nearby fields and sometimes even streets of this very town at night. And that they might be pretty dangerous too, so you should be careful! Hopefully the reward will be worth it. And remember that you need to defeat each enemy at least once to get all of the ingredients, else there will be no reward at all!
Enemies:
Easy: Lesser Vampire
These guys can be found in the town at night sometimes, just kinda aimlessly wandering about until they find a warm-blooded prey. They can appear humanoid from far away, but once approached, it is revealed that they’re more like mixture of man and a giant bat with fangs the size of a hunting knife. But despite their threatening appearance, they are actually quite weak as their attacks deal only about the same damage as a drunkard’s punch. Their bodies are not all that sturdy either, so they’ll most likely go down in few attacks. Don’t forget to take some of it’s blood for the alchemist.
Normal: Bound Wraith
A poor soul that died a tragic death. Their ties to the corporeal world were far too strong, binding them to the town and nearby areas, cursing them to float about aimlessly with no real sense or purpose. Some can attack you right away, others will be completely passive. In any case, you have to slay one and gather some of the sparkly dust that hey leave behind once banished. Physical attacks don’t work at them at all, but anything infused with magic (so pretty much anything in this nation) can make a quick work of them. But be careful, they can be rather fast and their swipes can tear a normal human apart with ease.
Strong: Ghoul
A disgusting creature that almost looks like a bloated man with no skin, only rotted muscles. These beasts devour dead bodies and thus can be somewhat difficult to find in more peaceful lands. But there were reports of some being in nearby area, so maybe you’ll get lucky. And while they do generally feed on the dead, they have no problems attacking the living as well in order to make more food for themselves. They are hard hitting, but slow. However, their muscle-like skin is actually quite tough so it may take several hits to take these ones down. Once taken care of, take a sample of that rotting flesh with you!
Boss: Nightwraith
Specter said to be born from the spirits of unwed maidens that died tragically before they could form a family. It is said that one of these roams the nearby fields when the moon is high in the skies. If you do manage to encounter it, pray to have luck on your side. These monsters are fast and perform piercing attacks with nails transformed into long claws. They can also absorb the moonlight and make it several times more intense, blinding their foes and tearing them apart when they cannot defend themselves. Thankfully they are not that sturdy so you might actually win if you get some lucky shots in. Once banished, they leave behind purple puddle of ethereal essence that you should bring back to the alchemist.
Reward: 10,000 Jewels and guarantee to be hired in the future by mighty alchemist Decoctor
