Job Title: Seeing Double
Rank: D
Player Requirements: Max 2, Both must complete iLac
Job Requirements: 1,250 words Words, 5 Rolls, defeat all enemies
Job Location: Neutral Ground
Job Description: A place where mages and humans are on the same playing field in terms of capability; Neutral Ground is wisely avoided by those who rely on magic entirely due to the fact that it disables magic. However, there's been a rumor going around that one of the labs in the city made an item that can quickly copy other items, and create exact replicas that are indistinguishable from the original. This lab has been asking for mages to bring magical items for them to test their device out on, which is where you come in.
Upon arriving, you find the doors are taped off by the local law enforcement and a guard outside tells you you're not allowed to go in. How you get past them is up to you, just know that mentioning you're a guild mage, or a wizard saint(if applicable) isn't a good enough reason; the guards are very much into their jobs. Upon entering you find the entire place in disarray. Rows of seats overturned, lights destroyed, and all the other cliche 'something happened' stuff included. One thing you'd notice is that there's no bodies in the building. An elevator on the far end seems to work, and near that is a stairwell. The elevator can't go up for some reason, and the top half of the stairwell seems to be blocked by rubble from the floors above; only one way to go.
Both routes lead straight down to the bottom of the building where you find where all the workers went to, and why the guards didn't let you enter. After clearing them out you find that the lines on the floor seem to lead somewhere as they're all colored differently depending on which hallway you go down, and only one line is consistently colored- a black line. At the end of this line is a locked metal door that you'll need to use the key-card from one of the corpses on. Inside is a computer with various video and audio logs from the scientists before things went south. (The enemies here don't have specified health so you can kill them as quickly as you see fit, try and be reasonable. Bear in mind that all of your magic, gear abilities, pet abilities, lineages, everything is disabled.)
Enemies:
Weak: Engineer x5
A human-shaped creature with brown skin that has pustules growing, popping, and reforming in other areas to release steam. Its' eyes glow bright blue, and looking it over you notice that its' fingers are claws, its' feet are hooves, and its' teeth are similar to an angler fish. Its' not particularly bright, and it immediately reacts to your presence by attacking you and trying to tear your heart out.
Normal: Scientists' Assistant x5
These ones are closer looking to people once you look past their hunched posture, spikes growing from their backs, scaled faces, steaming pustules, severe case of snaggletooth, and glowing yellow eyes that is. These ones are able to heal themselves by absorbing their fallen allies, and can reconstruct their fallen allies by using more of their fallen allies. They're pretty smart, but lack any combat experience.
Strong: Transporters x5
These ones seem to be about as intelligent as the engineers. They're build to be strong with their thick arms and legs, with tiny heads and bodies. Their fists are massive, and perfectly built for sending you through the wall. Oh, and they can teleport at random.
Boss: Ivan Letz
The original infected as you'll find out later in the mission, he's got a different look to him. His claws glow bright green, and he can lung forward at an incredible speed to slash you with them. He's immensely intelligent, capable of adapting to your attack patterns if you don't switch them up. He's extremely tanky as well, so try and keep your distance if possible. If you didn't roll a boss, he'll be spawned automatically.

- Log 1:
'Project replicate is a failure, the device is incapable of copying organic material. It only seems to be able to copy synthetic items, things made by man that can be mass produced with the right materials. In other words, it's completely useless to us. Chambers has advised us to sell the item instead of erasing the data. She seems to be under the impression that the wizards would find use for such things as it's capable of turning memories and experiences into a solid form. While this would let them re-experience something and learn more, the device is... unstable in this feature.'
- Log 2:
'Chambers was poking at the damn copying device again. Her fascination with the obsolete toy has pushed her to find a way to retrofit it to fit on the back of those experimental communication devices... what the devil were they called again? Ah! Yes, the iLac; such an unimaginative name. I've noticed a strange fellow in the building as well, he's constantly skulking around and keeping eyes on us as though he were planning something. I called security on him twice already, but each time they find him unarmed. My instincts are never wrong, that guy's up to something.'
- Log 3:
'Engineer Chambers Laski, audio log 432. I was able to expand on Dr. Pertroski's design and shrink down the duplication device. Now it's perfectly able to be carried around anywhere, and it seems to be able to duplicate a lot more than I thought! We made it to duplicate food to help with issues in the Cursed Lands, but it failed at that. It can copy other things, things that the wizards might find use for. I put up fliers for them to bring stuff for us to copy. This will help me find the limitations, and probably make a few sales.'
- Log 4:
'That shady guy was massing around near the vents. Don't know what he was doing, but my gut tells me it isn't good. I went and checked the vent he was working on and didn't find anything, but his job is transport. He moves things from one lab to the other, so he's got no reason to be messing with the vents.'
- Log 5:
'Some weird thing showed up in lab 54, the biological reconstruction lab. Dr. Pertroski said to keep our distance, that it used to be one of us- his assistant Ivan Letz. He took it on himself to kill it, but things didn't pan out so smoothly. She attacked him, killed him, and did... something. Dr. Pertroski's on the other side of the door as whatever the hell his assistant was. I'm sealing the duplicator in here with me and sealing the door shut. If you get this message, take the device for yourself as a thanks for killing my co-workers. When you connect it to your iLac it'll download instructions on how to use it, just don't try and duplicate something organic unless you want it to turn into its' base components. With that... this is Engineer Chambers signing off for the last time.'

Reward:
Normal Job EXP
Normal Job EXP
- Magic Doubler:
- Magic Doubler (single use) - The magic doubler is able to double one of the rewards from any job you desire, with some exceptions. The device looks like a case that goes around your iLac with a strange camera on its' back. It works by scanning an object before using 3D printing to create an exact copy. Experience is produced by creating a cube that you absorb by touching (read rules before using on XP). It appears to run on charges that you can measure by the color of the bar on the side of the case. This jobs' version has a Red bar. After the item is used, the bar turns dark meaning it needs to be recharged.
- Rules:
- • If cannot double the rewards of jobs above the rank of the job you completed to obtain it.
• The exception to the above is by using multiple doublers at once; two of one rank equals one of a single rank above.
• Magic doublers cannot be 'split up' into multiple lower rank ones.
• Magic doublers can be used to either gain more EXP, OR double ONE non-unique item from the job.
• If the job was one completed with a non-team guildmate, the exp is increased by 75% instead of 100%.
• If the job was one completed with a team member, the EXP is increased by 50% instead of 100%.
• If the job was one completed and a Lacrima Milk is used, no EXP is gained from this item.
• You may only use 1 Magic Doubler on the job, and this item is consumed by that use.
• You may complete this jobs once a month to gain another doubler charge. This causes a dot in the same color as this jobs' version to appear at the top of the case.
• If you complete a higher-ranked version of this job, you do not gain another doubler, but rather this one is upgraded to the rank of that job.
• If you own multiple doublers, only one will be upgraded.
• To use a doubler, link the completion of the job you completed to obtain it and state which reward on the job you're enhancing.
