The Belt (Mission, Private)

The serene cliffs, this was the location of the next job that Feitan had received. It was a very strange thing to have the request made to him. The job apparently was to test a race of warrior women. He had been hired by a woman who looked very familiar to the one who had given him the sword he was now carrying under his cloak strapped to his back. She had identified herself as the ‘Scorekeeper’ and that she was testing all of those who worshipped these amazons were apparently the greatest of her worshippers so they were the ones that she had to test the hardest. He was tasked with retrieving the queen’s belt. He wasn’t sure why this belt had any special value, but that was the way of the matter and so there was little choice he had than to do as he was asked to do being that he was going to be paid very well for his work. So here he was walking towards the village in the serene cliffs. He was given instructions as to where to find the village of the amazons so finding it wouldn’t be an issue by any means all things considering.

It was nearly midday when he finally arrived outside of the gates of the Amazon’s land. Behind the massive gates were women warriors as well as on the ramparts. A pair of them looked down at Feitan and barked at him “Speak thy purpose here outsider! If you wish to live you will speak quickly!” A flash of hatred flashed over the dark wizard’s face, but he looked up at them and nodded his head “I am here to talk to your queen. I was sent by someone who identified herself as the ‘Scorekeeper’ it is in her name that I come here to talk with your queen!” he called up to them. The two women looked at one another before they disappeared from Feitan’s sight behind the walls heading off to find or do something in order to do something. Eventually, the gates opened and a whole group of cards came out to meet him weapons in hand and as if he was about to strike. They surrounded him in order to block off any kind of escape or fight that he was likely to make at them. One of them who appeared to be the leader slowly stepped forward and spoke “Come with us.”

Feitan sighed as he nodded his head slowly sliding his hands into his pocket “Fine, lead the way I have no reason to try and fight you. After all, I was sent here by Scorekeeper and she wanted me here. Otherwise I would have no reason to come this far out into nowhere.” They didn’t relax at all instead they only tightened the ring around him and guided him into their village heading towards the largest of their buildings. Feitan had to admit this place was a complete and utter waste of space. It was made mostly of wooden buildings that were little more than shacks along with thatched rooves and even clay bricks. All in all it wasn’t anywhere that Feitan would ever want to be if not for the promise of money. They led him into the biggest building through a hallway towards a great atrium that served as a halfway decent throne room. Well, if one would call it that and seeing as the Amazons viewed their leader as a queen there was no reason to think that it wasn’t a throne room. On a raised dais was a throne made of bones, leather, and other trophies a warrior would want.

The woman who was sitting in the throne was a deep tan skin color. Her eyes were green as emeralds and her hair was as black as raven’s feathers. Really she looked like an amazon, but the key to it was that all over her bodies were various lighter marks that were obvious scars from past battles and other such bodily markings that were what most would consider to be ugly. Feitan couldn’t help but find them to be very interesting and indeed in their own right they were beautiful. The woman looked at him with a face that was stuck in a perpetual scowl and spoke in a tone that was used to commanding “What are you doing here man?”

This comment about his sex made Feitan smirk as he shrugged “A woman named the Scorekeeper said that her most trusted servants were starting to go soft. She was growing concerned so she sent me here to test you. I must say that from the looks of it that is exactly what is going on around here. It is a terrible shame to see a group of warrior women wink so far as to be completely irrelevant in the world hiding in the cliffs like a bunch of old hags.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than he was seized from all sides by the various women who were standing guard around him, and they forced him to kneel in front of the throne the blade of an axe at the back of his neck. The one holding it spoke “Just say the word my queen, we shall take this disgusting pig’s head!”

The queen held up her hand slowly “no sister. We can’t, if he says he has a message from the Scorekeeper we have to at least hear what it is. Should he be lying then we can kill him, but we must at least hear him out.” With another wave of her hand they released Feitan who only smirked dusting himself off.

Now that he was free he looked up at the queen nodding “The Scorekeeper sent me to test you. She told me where I would find you. The test is to see if you are still worthy of her favoritism.” He pointed to the queen’s belt “I have been told to retrieve that belt. I was told to obtain it through a battle against you. You and I shall fight, and if I win I shall take your belt and until the Scorekeeper returns it you shall be fighting to regain her favor.”

Delivering this message every amazon in the room began to laugh at him shaking their heads as if they found something to be incredibly amusing. Feitan stood there unamused and yet, the queen was looking at him dead in his eyes as if she was well aware of just how serious of a challenge this was. She surged to her feet suddenly bellowing “Be silent!” all fell silent and most knelt. She looked down on Feitan nodding her head “We are better than that. His challenge was clear, and made with the determination of a warrior! Despite him being a man he deserves to be treated with respect for coming to challenge me head on! We are the daughters of the Scorekeeper and as such we shall treat all warriors with respect!”

All of the women were clearly abashed by what was being said, but Feitan only smirked behind his overly long collar. He said nothing as he looked around the room and then looked to the queen “Lead the way your highness and we shall have this battle done with today. We are both very busy.”

The woman shook her head slowly “This is a fight to the death little man.”

This only made Feitan shrug his shoulders showing how bored he was “Then let’s hurry it up. I am a busy man and I have plenty of things to occupy my time with.”

A murmur of anger flooded through the gathered warrior women being that they were not okay with the implications that were clear as day to everyone who was gathered. Still, the queen didn’t rise to the bait that easily. Instead she walked down from her throne and headed out towards the doors where Feitan had been brought in earlier. Slowly Feitan turned to follow after her only to be caught up and roughly dragged after her by several of her guards.

With a groan Feitan shook his head annoyed “I was going to follow her anyway!! Let me go!!” he bellowed in anger as he forcefully shook the ladies off of him swinging his arms and body around wildly so he could get free. The women let him go nodding their heads as they prodded and poked him with the butts of their spears. With another loud groan of anger he followed after the queen as she led the little group and more importantly him towards a giant circle that was their ‘arena’ if such a pathetic place could be called that.

As they arrive in the center of the arena the queen slowly turns around and looks at the dark wizard her eye filled with rage and anger shaking her head “You have called for a battle, a test to prove your metal against me. So here we are, and we shall do battle in the traditional style here. What weapons, do you wish to bring to bear?”

Feitan smirks as he slowly flicks his wrist in the air. Just then a sword emerges from the air falling into his hand. He smiled as he nodded his head once “I shall use this weapon along with all my magic. I will not hold back, it shall be only you and me. No one else.” He said with a smirk slowly drawing the blade. It didn’t look like much at first, but Feitan slowly slid the sheath into his cloak where he could leave it in his waistband. Holding the blade in one hand he smirked “This blade was given to me by a one-eyed warrior. She claimed to have served the Scorekeeper and even called herself the “Herald” of the Scorekeeper. I think it would be most appropriate to slay you with a blade that was owned by this herald being that she is the most loved of the Scorekeeper as far as I understand.”

The queen looked at the blade and the flash of something akin to reverence went through her eyes. Yet, she was not going to back down from the fight and she slowly weaved her hands through the air drawing two blades from a different dimension and holding them ready. After a very moment, the battle was joined and she rushed forward. The two let their blades ring out crashing out loudly in their desire to destroy each other. Feitan could hold his own at least for a moment until the Amazon queen struck out at him kicking him squarely in the chest sending him staggering back. This made Feitan snarl and he focused his magic through his blade before he swiped it through the air in front of him. Doing so sent five slashes of energy through the ground shooting towards the queen. She herself used her two blades to focus magic sending more slashes to counter the ones coming at her. These twin slashes however, were only able to counter two of the three coming at her. The remaining sent her sprawling through the dirt slamming through the ground before coming to her feet in a roll ready to go again.

She coughed up some dirt from her mouth, but stretched herself out brandishing her blades again slowly spinning one in her right hand before throwing it as a buzzsaw at the demon soul wizard.
Feitan snarled as he dove off to the side rolling away from the blade focusing his magic into his arms he came up his arms aglow with the aura of the Mujin. He brandished the massive blade with only one hand now as though the blade weighed only a pound. Launching himself at the amazon he brought his blade down in a devastating slash trying to cleave her in twain, but both of her blades shot out to cross over her head so that she would survive.
The first blade cracked quite seriously nearly breaking in half, but she deflected the blow rolling out of the way throwing the cracked blade at Feitan in her retreat. He only twisted the blade so the width protected him cracking the weakened blade to pieces. She on the other hand only reached into this alternate dimension and drew forth another sword that was curved, and more akin to a long sword than a short sword. She snarled at him shaking her head slowly “I am going to gut you.”
He smirked “Try it.”

With a smirk, he shook his head and decided that he was not about to continue on with this fair fight bullshit. Throwing the blade aside he cancelled the partial transformation he was under and decided to go with another one entirely. Reaching into his cloak he pulled out a jar of sardines. The Queen stopped dead in her tracks tilting her head in confusion as she slowly lowered her blades “What the?” she began to say, but Feitan only smirked “Yeah, I hate these things, but one must do what they must do for their power.” He said swallowing down five of the little fish in only a few gulps.

She waited for a moment to see what was going to happen now. Raising his right hand up to his mouth he sank his teeth into it biting down as hard as he could which drew blood as he did so. In that moment, he was covered in bats and blood warping his form and figure until he looked to be the tyrant Valvatorez. Once his transformation was done the amazon queen rushed him again, but this didn’t bother him as he moved back away from her pulling out the can of sardines from his pocket “This is going to be fun.” He said ripping the can open and swallowing down the whole thing.

As soon as he finished swallowing the whole can his body began to change and warp out growing larger than life. Covered in darkness he was obscured from vision and then burst out of the darkness in the full power of the Tyrant. With a bellow of rage, he slapped his tail forward slamming it into the queen as hard as he could which in turn sent her skipping through floor of the arena like a stone. He wasn’t about to let her get off that easily however, with one flap of his wings he rose off his feet and flew across the arena. She had just got to her feet sending a slash of energy from her blades out towards him. He was far too big to dodge the attack, so he took it, but in turn he opened his mouth and breathed out his great breath of fire and darkness bathing the amazon queen in the attack even as she screamed out from the pain for the attack. The amazons gathered in the stands cried out to match it. Feitan didn’t listen instead he lifted his tail and slapped it down on the queen again being that she wasn’t moving very well from the intense pain of the previous attack.

The queen’s body was injured and she was in serious pain. Still, she slowly got up to her feet pulling another sword from the dimension putting it into her mouth and summoning up another she could hold in her hand. With her body glowing up in power she began to slash at Feitan with her blades each slash of blade was powerful, and truly they cut deep rents into the Tyrant’s flesh, but he wasn’t done here and with a roar of pain he slammed his tail down onto her again and again until she stopped moving. She stopped resisting, and she just lay there dead from several dozen broken bones, and a body that was smashed almost into complete paste. Feitan smirked in his great demonic form as he slowly reached down. What he hadn’t been counting on was the fact that this woman was only playing dead and she was ready for a strike. She rushed past him all three of her blades flashing out at him slicing his body in various places. He snarled loudly as he writhed in his agony from the various slashes and cuts to his body. The queen landed behind him panting and wincing as she had many broken bones, but she wasn’t dead yet.

Feitan bellowed his rage, his pain, and his great irritation at this worm who was here batting at him like a mosquito that one couldn’t kill. He whipped around his right hand slapping the woman full force in the side of her body sending her tumbling and bouncing through the floor of the arena to the wall where she slammed into it with a sickening crunch and crackle. Rushing in a half jumping half flying motion he slammed himself down to the ground punching his fist into her the size of it completely enveloping her body obscuring it from vision. He dragged her out only to rag doll her from one side of him to the other dropping her to the ground. Watching with great anticipation he stood over her, and waited watching ready to strike. Yet, she didn’t move. She was no more, and that was all there was too it. He smirked licking his lips slowly as he reached down and snatched the belt from her corpse holding it up “Behold! Your scorekeeper has punished you all for your weakness! I shall take this from you and only your Scorekeeper shall be able to return it! Good day!” He snatched up his sword in his other hand flying off to the predetermined meeting place.

As he flew he could see the deep dark black blots of his blood oozing out of his wounds splattering on the ground below him. Not only that he could see them staining the trees that were below him. It took him a lot longer than normal to reach the spot where he was supposed to go. He landed with a great terrible thunderous crash sinking from his legs to his knees and to his chest in his hands were the belt and the sword that he had. Glancing up with a groggy and weakening look on his face. He groaned as he shook his head and let the transformation end all at once. No sooner was he standing there in his weakened form than the woman who had hired him was standing over him “oh, my, my, my. It seems that even though you succeeded my daughters gave you quite the fight.” She bent down and took the belt from his hand as she pressed her empty one on his head “I shall heal you enough to get you to your home where your payment is waiting for you. You have done well little wizard, and I am most impressed.” With a flash of light, she was gone.

Hours later Feitan slowly rose to his feet his body aching in agony his slashes were only light patches on his skin. His cloak had been slashed to pieces, and there was nothing to hide the giant Laughing Coffin tattoo on his back. On his upper arm was the mark, and the scar of his new home Basilisk Fang. He touched the mark with a smirk on his face “Time to go home.” He muttered to himself as he hobbled through the forest heading back to the Basilisk Fang guild hall.
