A breeze rustled through Neru's hair as she settled herself on a rock, sending it floating off to the side for a few suspended moments. She could certainly see how this cliff had gotten its name. The way the shore curved, creating a sort of alcove surrounded by cliffs when paired with the ocean stretching out into the distance simply gave off a sense of close peace. When one added in the tang of salt in the air, it became a place that Neru had no doubt she could easily get lost in time at. It was a perfect place to play the flute as well. However, today was not the day to sit and play her flute, no matter how much she might want to.
She'd been, frankly, surprised that the Hunter's Hall had requested her help in dealing with a Chickaroo, of all things. Killing wasn't something she ever condoned, and Neru had never been afraid to make that clear. She had no intention of killing anything, and certainly not on something as simple as word of mouth. Not to mention, they'd given her a partner. It would be the first time she'd worked with somebody else on a mission, but Neru supposed she could deal with it. It didn't lessen her suspicion in the slightest that they'd simply chosen among the mages in the guild randomly, however.
The client didn't take long to arrive; they were actually a bit early, given that Neru had ended up arriving a while before to take in the scenery. For a researcher he was rather exotic looking, given the purple hair and the long coat of the same color that practically screamed "look at me!" rather than the more hidden tone most researchers seemed to done. "I was under the impression that two of you were coming," he began almost immediately, looking somewhat irritated. Neru supposed that was something that could be accepted, given what she'd heard about the job.
"We're early," she replied, expression neutral and spheres of light retaining their peaceful blue color. Her eyes returned to the horizon, scanning the expanse of blue appreciatevely. "The other mage will show up soon."
