- Mission:
Job Name: Outbreak (Infection Series 1 of 5)
Job Requirements: 2 C-rank or one B-rank minimum, Minimum post count of 30. Minimum Word count of 300
Job Location: Ancient Ruins
Job Description: A strange door was found in the ancient ruins last week, upon its open all contact was lost with the excavation crew. At first, it was thought to just be a issue with the communication lacrima, after a extra twenty-four hours of silence the foreman of the crew grew worried and sent a security team. They reached the main camp and then came under attack by the excavation crew… then silence again. The remaining workers decided to seal the ruins and call for Rune Knight intervention. A Rune Knight Assault team arrived, using weapons and gear that made it clear they were aware of what they were dealing with, and entered the ruins. They never returned, so now the remaining survivors have called upon the guilds for help.
You arrive three day later to find nobody waiting for you, just blood and destruction but as far as you can tell no one has left the ruins area. Many discarded weapons are found on the ground and there are signs of a fight. But there are no bodies, with the amount of blood on the ground and walls when there should be quite a few. Whats going on? Enter the Ruins and find out what's going on.
Enemies:
Weak:
Infected person x4: They seem to have lost all sense of themselves and just wander about until a food source makes itself known… and their food source is you. They will try to bite you and swing at you, with each attack dealing B-rank damage. Thankfully they are quite slow and not hard to avoid. For some reason, they seem to be rotting as if they were dead. each person takes 2 B rank hits to take down.
Normal:
Infected Dog x2: These Dogs are scary fast, hard to hit, and they will try to kill you. They deal B-rank damage and will try and pin you to the ground. Try not to let them get too close. If you fail to kill the dogs in three post they will howl and another 2 will come running. Each Dog can take 1 B-rank of damage but they are hard to hit.
Strong:
Hunter: Huge scaled creatures - you're not even sure what they are honestly. They have scales that reduce damage by half and long sharp claws that deal A-rank damage. They are incredibly fast and clearly very smart, smart enough to ambush you. Note: This enemy will run from you and get an ally if it fails to kill you in three post rotations. If it escapes, it will return in one post rotation with two buddies for a total of three hunters. Each hunter can take 5 B ranks of damage
Boss:
Tyrant: Only one exists but running into it will ruin your day. This thing stands over ten feet tall and its very steps crack the ground. On its right arm are four three-foot long claws capable of cutting stone and steel. It can run over sixty mile per hour so running is not really option; and if it charges, you only have a brief time to get out of the way. The Tyrant can take 10! B-rank hits before falling to its knees you then have to deal another 10! B ranks to it heart to kill it. it will stand back up after one post rotation causing is base HP to reset but not its heart HP.
Reward:
Job grants B-rank EXP and access to the second job in the Panic! “Infection Series 2 of 5.”
Zhu frowned as she walked into the camp to behold the devastation and the evidence of a battle that had just happened, or rather had happened at all. Truly this was a war zone, but the strangest thing was that there were no bodies, no casualties, only blood. That didn't add up in Zhu's mind. She had seen war before, she had seen combat, attacks, and other such things before, and there were usually bodies everywhere. So why weren't there any here? It was a complete mystery to her, and one mystery that she wasn't happy with solving. It didn't add up, it wasn't right. Still nothing could really be done about it at the moment. She walked around the camp looking around for any clues, but the only ones that were visible to anyone were the blood drops leading towards the ruins. Whatever had come for this camp left to the ruins.
She finally stopped at a broken wall that used to be part of a gate support and stared at the road towards the ancient Ruins it was clear that she would have to go in there in order to figure out what was going on. However, she couldn't and wouldn't do so alone. There was no telling what was waiting for her, and she would need assistance. However, since leaving Lamia Scale behind she had no one she could turn to. She placed a hand on her now bare stomach wondering if she had done the right thing, but quickly shook the thought away. She was doing this because Lamia was no longer worthy of her honor, and her blade. So now she simply fought for the scorekeeper and spread the word of her greatness, and taught more warriors. She was currently waiting however for a mercenary she had hired from a guild she hadn't heard much of until recently known as Laughing Coffin.
It was clear they loved death, and perhaps if they loved death then there were warriors who could be turned to and counted on. Perhaps she could spread the light of the Scorekeeper to the mercenary to see if they were worth anything. However, she would have to wait for the mercenary to arrive.
