Hello! Welcome to the code of conduct! An absolute must for anyone that is getting to know the site rules in general! Of course there are other rules regarding the site, but these rules are straight to the point and are the most important ones of them all!
1. You may not tell others what to do or that they broke a rule.
It is considered as rude to do so, if you see a rule break, it is best to report it to the moderators.
Definitions:
- Spoiler:
- Mini-Modding - Regular members are not staff and should not correct rulebreaks. When a regular member corrects another member's rulebreak, this is mini-modding.
Exceptions - Exceptions to the mini-modding rule include handling smaller rulebreaks, such as spam, on your own RPs. If you did not create the RP, you must still report the rulebreak. If a member is being disruptive on YOUR own thread, you may ban them from the thread and delete or report posts as necessary.
2. Be polite to other members and don't start drama. (If you feel mistreated by staff, PM an admin!)
Be considerate! - Don't be mean and don't talk about hurting yourself/others. This includes making rants and discussing rulebreaks and bans in public.
Definitions:
- Spoiler:
- Passive-aggressiveness - Passive-aggressiveness is being aggressive...without being aggressive. Confused? Here's an example:
That's okay, you only give out jewels to your friends anyway. ):
Bashing - Complaining about members, staff, and/or the site in its policies in a negative manner. If there is something you wish to criticize, it must be done constructively.
Baiting - Baiting is when you attempt to attract sympathy or the aggression of another player via negative and/or passive aggressive posts.- example:
Whatever. I guess I'll leave, then, if everyone's just going to ignore me... Bye. :(
Player one: I wonder why I was declined
Player Two: I know why... and I think you do too XD
Offsite Drama/Harassment - Any rudeness from members offsite (such as on Skype or Discord) will only be handled by staff if it involves:
1. Offsite issues that get onsite.
2. Direct harassment of someone offsite from another person onsite.
Note that proof in the form of screenshots and/or quotes needs to be given.
3. Be appropriate!
We are PG-13, which means NO mature/adult content. This INCLUDES asking for personal information. No explicit images or descriptions, please.
4. NO Plagiarism/art theft.
Stealing someone’s work and claiming you made it will not be tolerated.
5. No injuring or killing another person's character without their permission.
Play only your own character/s, and AIM to attack another person’s character instead of auto-hitting, which is power playing! If you have permission from the player, this is then allowed.
6. Be realistic.
Rulebreaks include:
1. Avoiding all attacks/auto hitting with all of your attacks (godmodding).
2. Not purchasing Magic /Pets/Items from the shop.
3. Using Magic/Pets/Items in a way that is not possible or goes against the way the weapon is built.
4. Shadow playing, determining anothers actions without their consent.
5. Metagaming .
- Details:
- Metagaming is when your character gets knowledge of information from private threads or other instances where they would not have realistically been able to get. This also includes having OOC knowledge about things, such as OOC battle plans that have not happened ICly.
7. You may not spam or advertise.
Please do not advertise anything outside of the Advertisement board.
Spam can consist of advertising PMs, double-posting/chain messages, and random/off-topic OOC posts in an IC thread.
8. Loophole Exploitation
What is Loophole Exploitation: Using a gap in the rules to make something that is not defined to your own gain either OOC or IC. If you see a possible loophole contact staff and tell them about it. If you feel iffy about one of your abilities or spells, contact a couple staff members and ask for advice and see if it abusing any of the systems in a way that wasn't intended. If you are suspected of Loopholing the rules, your application which is in question can be pulled at any time.
9. Quitters
Quitting the site for any reason results in the forfeit of all Equipment/Jewels/Exp. Many people claim to be quitting before coming back a few months later. If you are taking a break from the site or are going to be away, please write a thread letting us know.
There is no wiggle room here, you post a quitting thread and then drop off the 99 hour list and you will be reset. This rule is non-negotiable, and has been set down by Seijin himself.
10. Bragging.
This could fall under toxicity and drama, but please do not brag about your abilities. Bragging on this forum is discussing how your abilities could completely destroy another, or about how great all your abilities are publically. You are free to talk about your stuff or plots, but please do not use them to put another down or make others feels inferior, everyone has different levels of creativity and it can be a major hindrance on their enjoyment of the forum if they believe they can't compare to others.
11. Toxicity.
What is Toxicity in FTRP: a group/guild of members that have become harmful to the sites operations, either through disrespect of other members or consistent breaking of the Code of Conduct.
- Example:
- Player one, two and three all dislike player 4, so they take turns harassing, disrespecting and trolling them.
The above example is a very minor show of what being toxic is. Admins have the right to at any time disband/ban a guild/group of members that they feel have become toxic to the site. They are not required to give notice or warnings at all. BUT they must have definable proof that said group is toxic, such as Screenshots, Quotes, Pastes of chats and other such communication devices.
Punishments for Breaking the COC
This functions on a warning system. These do not go away over time.
Break a rule once and it is a warning
Break a rule twice it is a one day ban minimum
Break a rule three times and it is a one week ban minimum
Break a rule four times and it is a one month ban minimum
Break a rule five times and it is a three month band minimum
Break a rule more than five times and be permanently banned.
Depending on the transgression some levels of warning may be skipped
