    Job Details:

    Part One: Following the trail.

Dirt kicked up around Mashyuu as he and Itsu stopped on a long, lonesome road. Behind them the sun was setting and the moon was rising high above them, making the stars look especially bright at the moment as they danced in the sky. Mashyuu's eyes narrowed while he thought for a long moment. This was apparently where the man in black who dared to make Mashyuu re-live the past was hiding at the moment. He wouldn't get away with that if Mashyuu had anything to do with it. "This is it. That man in black is hiding here. I've been tracking him for a week straight and his scent gets masked in the city at the end of the road. Itsu, are you ready?" Mashyuu's blue gaze wandered over to Itsu and she nodded her head at Mashyuu while drawing her weapon. The back dagger attached to the four foot long metal cable gleamed in the moon light and lit up, humming softly with a dull black energy, showing that it was ready to be used.

Mashyuu couldn't help but grin while he rested his arm on the hilt of his blade and flexed his left hand, causing the chain wrapped around his wrist to light up and pulse with magical power. After a brief moment of rest the two Sabertooth Wizards walked down the road and entered the front gates of a rather large city. Buildings sat, some crumbled while others stood tall but had broken windows or doors, clearly suffering from some sort of riot or raid. Itsu clicked her tongue while shaking her head. "Think the man in black did all this? Turned people against one another and made them want to destroy everything they built?" She asked while running a forearm over her head and flipping her weapon in one hand. Mashyuu shrugged and looked into a well near the front gates of the city. "It doesn't matter now why he did what he did. All that matters is that we make sure he doesn't hurt anyone else. Come on I want to check out the center of town before it gets too dark to see." Mashyuu activated his bow and took aim, slowly walking through the town...

    Part Two: The City

Mashyuu pulled his head out of the well and looked up at Itsu then extended his bow and nodded at her. The pair walked to a second story building, Itsu placing her back to the wall and looking at Mashyuu. The Earth Wizard pulled his magical string back, creating a single arrow and aimed at the door. Itsu kicked it in and ducked, and rolled into the front room. She looked around while Mashyuu stepped inside with her, keeping her covered from where he was standing. Itsu scanned the room first and stood up while flipping her dagger to face down. "It's a library. I don't think there is anyone in here." Itsu whispered while walking forward. "Just watch out for any traps." Mashyuu commanded the woman. He followed behind, aiming his weapon up and scanning the stairs leading to the second floor and the banister that moved around the building. "Looks like the second floor would be where someone would go to simply read if they they wanted to be alone." Mashyuu reasoned.

Itsu walked up to a desk and started to look through it, finding keys and a log of books that had been taken out of the library but nothing of note. Mashyuu in the mean time headed up stairs and looked around, spotting a book that made him blink. Mefitis called out to him from inside his soul. That book will help you, teaching you some forbidden Earth Magic when you are ready. She told the Earth God Slayer. Mashyuu walked up to the table, his right hand reached out while he lowered his glowing bow. The man picked up the dusty tomb of a book and stuffed it into his brown gi, securing it at his waist so his belt would hold it up at the small of his back. He ran down the steps and whistled to Itsu. "Alright lets move on to the next building." The woman smiled and walked with Mashyuu out of the building. Her dagger pulsed with affinity for the undead and she stopped, in the dark she thought she saw something run past her in the shadows but couldn't make it out. "Mash, we aren't alone." She warned the man and he allowed his bow to fade away, knowing that in the dark his glowing bow would just draw attention to the pair. Instead his right hand grabbed the hilt of his blade and drew it from his belt, the silver steel of the weapon flared for a moment but the light faded when the weapon realized Mashyuu wasn't going to fight yet. "What's the range on that dagger?" "I don't know yet. So lets keep moving." Itsu patted Mashyuu's back and went on ahead deeper into the city.

Part Three: Ghosts in the attic.

Moving on Mashyuu and Itsu walked into a large building, assuming it was what the mayor would live in. The wizards pushed the door, white in color open and scanned the room. A greeting area where a butler would no doubt either address guests or send them away if the lord of the home didn't want to see whoever came to visit. Mashyuu whipped his blade around and Itsu started to swing her dagger around in a small arc by the cord. The pair walked down the hall and into a large living room. Itsu whistled sharply and let her blade come to a rest. She grabbed Mashyuu's arm and shook her head. "We aren't alone, undead are near by." She warned Mashyuu. The blue eyed Wizard narrowed his eyes and scanned the room, a large couch sat before a fireplace with a mantle above the once raging fire. The mantle had a bottle of rich whiskey sitting atop it.

The pair looked around, waiting for anything to come at them when suddenly a trio of ghastly phantoms flowed through the roof above and started to swarm around the pair. Mashyuu and Itsu went back to back, glancing at one another then to the monsters. They weren't getting close yet thanks to Itsu's dagger. She took a deep breath and decided that she could finish these things quick. Exhaling, Itsu ejected a blast from her mouth while shouting. "Ghost Touch!" The blast smashed into the the center of the ghosts, knocking them away from one another. Mashyuu too the chance and rolled forward, spun around and condensed light in his hand while his blade lit up with golden brilliant energy while he swang the weapon in unison with his spell. "Light Dragons Holy Shower, Kings Cleave!" His left hand released a blast of golden hard light to smash into the ghosts, his sword exploded with power, destroying the ghosts and leaving the pair standing still, carefully scanning the room. "Not sensing any more. We should be okay for now. But I feel like your magic would have done the job, I don't think the sword was needed." Itsu giggled while hugging Mashyuu. The pair had been getting very good at working with one another without needing to talk. "Better safe than sorry right?"

Itsu nodded at him and coiled her dagger up around her wrist so she could launch it if needed and pull it back with the cord. Mashyuu thought about the sword for a moment longer and replaced it on his hip, under his belt. Itsu was right, his light magic would do just fine here in this situation. The last time he had fought undead his light magic destroyed the undead in single shots most of the time. That was when he had the energy to pull off the spells needed. When he didn't, his holy aura did the trick. The pair made their way through the rest of the house and found a trap door leading to the top of the roof. Together the pair climbed up and looked out over the city. "Cemetery, I bet if that necromancer is anywhere it's there." Itsu reasoned, Mashyuu had to agree. "That cemetery is almost as big as the city, if we have to fight its going to be bad, don't let them surround you if you can help it. Keep moving and if you have to draw them to a choke point like here." Mashyuu pointed down below them to the stairs ladder they had climbed up. Itsu nodded her understanding and the two jumped off the building to head for the cemetery.

    Part Four: Cemetery Drive.

The two Wizards stalked towards the cemetery at the end of the city, it seemed like they walked for hours before the tombstones were in sight. Itsu cracked a wide smile on her beautiful face and almost ran to the front gate of the cemetery but looked back at Mashyuu and sheepishly looked down at the ground and kicked a small rock. "...I just want to see what is over there and see if we can figure out what the hell is up with this guy. I don't like him at all." Itsu explained. Mashyuu laughed and patted his friends shoulder comfortingly. "It's fine. I understand what you mean, but we can't go rushing into anything that might be a trap, I hope you can remember that when we get inside the place." Mashyuu and Itsu stepped past the broken gates of the cemetery and stopped, the area filled with moans that seemed to echo and bounce off the stone tombstones.

Without question Itsu grasped her blade and hugged it tight in her hand while Mashyuu produced his bow and took aim far down the cemetery. He could already see movement and a lot of it. Mashyuu narrowed his gaze, closing an eye while taking a deep breath to steady his aim. A large magical arrow appeared between his fingers as he pulled back the bowstring. "Sniper Elite." The earth Wizard whispered and unleashed his arrow. The magical blast rocketed through the sky, slamming into head after head of zombies until it dug deep into the last zombie in range of the arrows shot, exploding and causing the zombie to blow up, drawing the attention of all the zombies.

The graveyard started to roar with the agony of zombies realizing that their cohorts had died. Itsu knew what was coming and waved her dagger in a strange pattern, summoning skeletal soldiers. "Call of the dead: Huey, Dewy and Luey!" Three skeletons with swords rose up out of the ground and started to chatter happily among one another while looking to Itsu and tilting their heads. "Okay guys, all I need you to do is keep me safe okay? Don't let any undead get close to me." The skeletons looked at one another and poked one another in the eye sockets and laughed then nodded up and down while looking at Itsu.

The ground started to rumble under them and Mashyuu started to fire arrow after arrow into the darkness, hitting zombies left and right, sometimes killing them and sometimes seemingly doing nothing to them. Mashyuu started to sweat, while the firing of arrows was near effortless it did start to tire out his arms. Itsu ran to Mashyuu's side and opened her mouth. "Ghost Touch!" She shouted, unleashing a blast of magical energy that sent a small group of the monsters flying through the air, together Mashyuu and Itsu had slowly thinned the herd that were starting to run at the Sabertooth Wizards. "Itsu, I'm going deeper, stay here and hit any stragglers, try to thin them out with your ghost touch blasts." Mashyuu ordered the woman and ran into the cemetery.

After sprinting for a moment Mashyuu slid to a stop while dropping to a knee and aiming at a small cluster of zombies. "Hail of Arrows!" he shouted, pulling his bowstring back and firing a blast of energy that rained from his bow like a shower out, slamming into the zombies before him, either blowing them back or killing them outright. As the last zombie fell and stopped moving Mashyuu stood up again and allowed his bow to return to the cross chain wrapped around his wrist. As he did this smaller zombies cleared the way around Mashyuu, making room for a massive zombie, the size of witch Mashyuu had never seen before. "Shit." Mashyuu whispered while drawing Excalibur. He gripped the handle with both hands and decided he needed to make the first strike against the monster that was nearly three feet taller than he was. He placed his blade behind him and let if flare with brilliant energy. "Kings.. The energy from his sword whirled, twisted and started to slide Mashyuu on the ground. Charge!" He shouted. The magical blade launched Mashyuu forward at a rapid speed, he pulled his arm forward and stabbed with it, stopping right before he would have ran through the zombie. The end of his sword lit up and fired a blast straight through the zombie, doing what Mashyuu thought would be a killing blow, but the blast seemed to do little more than bug the beast. "Double shit." He muttered under his breath. Before the zombie had a chance to act Mashyuu slashed up the belly of the beast while he jumped backwards, narrowly avoiding a slam from the monsters fist. Its clawed hand cleaved the ground under it, sending stone high into the air. Mashyuu landed and inhaled, swallowing the rock and restoring some of his power.

Mashyuu sighed, it looked like he was okay in terms of being faster than the beast but if he got hit it would really hurt, maybe even kill him. Mashyuu whipped his sword around, cut the air around him and backed up a few steps. The monster roared and pounded its chest then charged like a gorilla at Mashyuu! The Wizard jumped to the left, his left foot touching down while his arm slashed up, cutting through the meaty flesh of the monster but it managed to swing and catch Mashyuu in the side, knocking him aside like a small baseball. Mashyuu was hit so hard that he was lifted off the ground but landed on his feet, slid backwards and stopped while shaking, his arms numb from barely getting them up in time to block the strike and save his life. Mashyuu found his grip on the hilt of the blade and looked at the brute who was patting its arm to try to sooth the burn it felt from Mashyuu's golden light. It snarled and looked down at Mashyuu in annoyance then picked up a dead zombie and hurled it at Mashyuu. The earth Wizard slashed his blade through the body of the zombie, cutting it in half with no effort. The Earth Wizard lifted his arms up high and called out. "Kings Cleave!" his hands dragged the sword down, slashing the sky and unleashing a massive blast that swallowed up the monster, leaving a billowing stack of smoke where the brute had once stood.

Post by redheadedstepchild 24th February 2017, 4:43 pm

Mashyuu stood, blade in hand, panting heavily while watching the smoke that was billowing from the ground where the zombie brute had done battle with the Earth Slayer, now there was an eerie silence hanging in the air around Mashyuu but in the distance behind him things were very different. Itsu was fighting for her life...

    ...Moments ago..

Itsu watched Mashyuu rush into a swarm of the undead, doing battle with the hordes and taking them out one by one, first with his bow and then with his blade until he could no longer be seen in the distance. More of the undead started to swarm upon Itsu and her skeletal soldiers who all formed a protective shield around her with their bodies. It seemed like for every one skeleton there were a hundred zombies and they were all converging on Itsu's location. She gritted her teeth together and started to compress power on herself. "Phantom Speed!" Itsu shouted, then vanished. She appeared above a small group of zombies, smashed her hand down crushed the skull of one zombie then vanished again, appearing next to her skeletal soldiers. The three laughed their silent laugh and readied their weapons as a small group started to come in on Itsu's flank. One skeleton darted ahead, its blade gleaming under the moonlight. Dewy cleaved through the brain of a zombie, slashing a chunk of its head clean off before the skeleton twisted around, stabbed into the spine of the zombie and pulled up, ripping the zombie in half in one clean slash. Dewy stood up and spun its blade around then cupped the area its scabbard used to rest when Dewy was alive, sliding the sword into the empty space it gave Itsu a thumbs up. It was Hewy's turn to show off this time. Hewy raced forward on his bone feet, clattering along until it was within striking distance of three zombies. His blade hand stretched out at his left side and he spun on his feet, ripping through the zombies bellies, blood and bile spilled from their bodies while Hewy shifted his blade to face up, he raised his hand and chopped the fronts of the three zombies faces off just as they started to grab the skeleton but their grasps did little more than bother Hewy. The skeleton batted the undead hands away and went back to back with Dewy, waiting for whatever came next. All the while Luey used his light weight to jump up into the air, spring off his brothers and aim his long blade down, impaling the last remaining zombie in the group with his blade, entering the zombies head and exiting through its lower back. As the last zombie fell, Luey pulled his blade out and the three skeletons clanked their blades together while cheering. Itsu smiled at the three and twisted to face a still oncoming horde of zombies. Her hand pulled back and moved as if she were pitching a baseball, the dagger in her hand sailed forward until it went taught thanks to the cord attached to the handle of the weapon. The blade dug deep into the eye of one of the monsters zombies and when Itsu pulled the weapon back she dragged the zombie forward towards her. The beauty teleported behind the zombie and smashed her foot so hard into its head that flew off the body of the zombie. Itsu used her dagger with a head stuck to it as a flail, whipping the weapon around in the air to build momentum.

"Guys, hold em!" Itsu shouted. Hewy, Dewy, and Luey all charged together, their blades at chest level stabbed into three zombies, holding them in place while the Skeletons ducked their heads and Itsu swung her weapon out, smashing the zombie head attached to the blade into the heads of the other zombies, knocking the zombies heads off their shoulders while crushing the head on the dagger. Itsu pulled the weapon back a bit with her cord and whipped it around in a small circle. The skeletons took a half step back while kicking the bodies off their weapons and wiping the blood off their weapons. Just like Mashyuu the zombies started to clear out when a massive zombie came upon Itsu and the skeletons, making Itsu swallow hard, fearing what might befall her. "Gorilla warfare guys! Hit and run!" Itsu ordered. The Skeletons darted around, running as fast as they could while spreading out to draw the giant zombie's attention in different areas. It spun around confused while roaring, Itsu took the chance and vanished, appeared behind the monster and slammed a glowing fist into the back of the monsters knee, knocking it down to a single knee. The beast swung its fist back and smashed into Itsu, momentarily caving in the side of Itsu, she dropped her dagger and slid across the battle field and fell to her side in a daze. The skeletons all twisted around and drove their weapons into the monsters chest, doing whatever they could to keep the attention off of Itsu. The monster roared in pain reached out with both hands and clapped, catching all three of the Skeletons and crushed them in the giants hands. Itsu's eyes lit up with rage, her friends had been destroyed in a single blast of the mighty monsters attack but it looked like it was on its last legs itself. Slowly Itsu pulled herself to her feet and drew a breath of energy. "Ghost touch!" She shouted, killing the zombie when her blast smashed into the back of its head, causing it to explode. The zombie hit the ground hard and rattled the earth below, leaving Itsu safe at the gate of the cemetery. Itsu grabbed her arm and started to wince while winding up her dagger and keeping it close to her chest. She was hurting, and badly. She wanted to go help Mashyuu but in her state would be more of a burden than a boon. She dragged her feet back to the gate and rested against the wall that cut off the cemetery from the rest of the area. Her big eyes fell shut and a smile creased her lips. "It's up to you now Mashyuu, don't let me down." She whispered and looked up at the stars, wondering if when she died again if she would become a zombie like these poor souls or move on in peace.

Part Five: Battle of the Dead.

"Very good Mashyuu and Itsu! I'm truly impressed. But you have yet to face my most deadly creature to date. This is....BACOR!" The man in black shouted from the darkness and vanished again, leaving Mashyuu to face whatever it was that was being summoned. The ground rumbled, Mashyuu looked around for Itsu to make sure she was safe. He couldn't see her but he could feel her magical power off in the distance. He was glad she was alive, even if she wasn't actually doing perfect. he took a deep breath and watched as from a deep grave rose a massive hand, then another. A massive, bloody body with puss filled sores rose from the dead, Mashyuu couldn't tell what was its head and what was its neck. The wizard gulped a lump of sudden fear and took a half step back. He didn't need to deal with this monster if he could beat the necromancer who made it right? It didn't really matter considering the man in black had once again vanished, the Earth Slayer couldn't sense the man's magical power any longer, thus crushing any hope he had of ending things once and for all. "Another time then. For now its me and the big o'l puss monster." Mashyuu spoke to himself, a calming device he used on himself. The Wizard looked at his blade and placed it back in his belt, wanting to make sure that he knew everything he needed to about the beast that had now stood up. Mashyuu was shocked to see it was nearly twice the size of him, and its teeth were on its chest. "Don't get bit!" Mashyuu called out and started to back pedal through the cemetery. He released his bow and pulled the string back, magical energy formed an arrow and soared through the sky as it was released by Mashyuu. The arrow dug into the chest of the zombie below its massive teeth that were chomping on its torso. It seemed like the blast did nothing to the zombie and Mashyuu cringed with annoyed worry. The monster roared and charged the Earth God, Mashyuu pulled one last arrow back and called out. "SNIPER ELITE!" The arrow whipped through the air and drove into the shoulder of the monster then exploded, knocking the zombie off balance and causing it to narrowly miss cutting Mashyuu to ribbons. Mashyuu let his bow vanish as he started to move again this time running in front of the monster. He pushed his left hand out towards the zombie. "Earth Gods Combo: Part One!" Mashyuu called out, sending three pillars into the zombie, knocking it back into the grave that it crawled out from. Mashyuu grinned, thinking he had beat the zombie with no effort. The Wizard started to walk towards the grave when suddenly the zombie jumped up and dragged its claw up Mashyuu's chest, ripping his body and his shirt. The Earth Slayer fell backwards, landed on his back and rolled while drawing his sword.

The weapon lit up, flaring with brilliant energy. It hummed lightly while Mashyuu readied for a harsh battle. He pointed the blade back behind him while holding it with two hands. It started to pulse with power and nudge Mashyuu forward towards the beast who had just landed. "Kings Charge!" He shouted. The sword pushed him forward, shooting him across the battle field. Just before he would have smashed into the monster he pointed his blade forward and unleashed a blast of magical power right into the mouth of the monster. It howled in rage and kicked Mashyuu, knocking the air out of his body and crumpling the Wizard to the floor. He slowly lifted his blade and stabbed it into the knee of the zombie, then let the weapon go. The zombie grabbed the hilt of the blade and tried to remove it but thanks to not being a god, the zombie couldn't budge it. Mashyuu grinned and whispered. "Earth Gods Molten Blast!" The ground exploded out before Mashyuu, washing the zombie in hot lava. Mashyuu stood up while the wave of red molten stone blanketed the zombie in a wave of pain. The Earth Wizard sighed happily until a hand shot through the lava and grabbed him by the waist. His mouth twisted in agony while it squeezed and brought Mashyuu to its chest. The zombie bit Mashyuu's neck and pulled a chunk of meat from his neck and tossed him aside. Mashyuu rolled to his chest and weakly grabbed his neck. He whispered some words of prayer and ended with "Light Dragons Healing Word: Cleanse." The infection in his neck stopped harming him and started to slowly sooth.

Mashyuu got up and screamed, golden light flared off his body and changed the color of his hair to golden blonde. Some of his wounds started to heal and Mashyuu smirked wide. He rushed the monster before him, his right hand pulling back and compressing light in his palms. He pushed his palm forward and shouted. "Time to die! Light Dragon's Holy Shower!" He called out. His right hand released a wave of light that blasted into the monster, making it howl in pain as the puss sores on its body started to explode. The monster finally ripped the sword out of its knee and tossed it aside but couldn't help but fall to the ground from the ripped bone and muscle in its body. The zombie punched the ground as hard as it could, causing the ground to rumble and knock Mashyuu over. He hit the ground with a thud and swallowed a dry lump. The zombie seemed like it couldn't be killed no matter what the God Slayer threw at the monster. "Come on... Earth Gods Extension!" He screamed. The ground around Mashyuu shot up and floated like a pair of fists and feet a few meters in front of the Wizard. Mashyuu ran up to the monster and stopped three meters before the monster and threw his hands forward. The boulders shot forward and into the mouth of the monster, knocking its teeth out and causing it to bleed from its wounds.

There was a long pause while the monster started to quake and convulse where it stood. A moment later it exploded, guts hitting the Wizard and the tombstones. The zombies that were walking towards the Wizard all fell to the floor as if they were indeed somehow linked to the beast. Slowly Mashyuu hobbled to his weapon and picked up the bastard sword and placed it between his belt yet again. He twisted to face itsu who had stood up and slowly made her way towards Mashyuu while he battled. He lifted his hand to stop her and smiled. "It's okay. I got it." The Wizard stated. He walked over to Itsu and wrapped her in his large arms, hugging her and healing the woman with his golden light. "Mashyuu, your neck is bleeding." She stated. Mashyuu shrugged his shoulders and ruffled her hair. "I'm going to be fine." Mashyuu responded. "Those skeletons saved my life. I wouldn't have died if they hadn't stabbed that zombie brute when it hit me. Gave me just enough time to take it out. How about you? Where's the man in black?" Itsu asked. Mashyuu pulled away and looked over his shoulder. "He was here but he got away. Not much could be done about that. Honestly he didn't even show himself. Just taunted us from the shadows. But that means he was afraid. It won't be long till we find him now. I can promise you that Itsu. How's your side doing?" Mashyuu could see that one half of her body was bruised terribly and likely sore as hell. She grinned and shrugged. "It could be worse, luckily I had a strapping hero to heal me a few moments ago. Come on, lets get back home and grab some beers."
