Fade does what he wants, when he wants. He's rigid, stubborn, and very caught up in his own head. On the outside he's just another punk ready to pick a fight, on the inside he's a living legend, and that statement is rightfully earned. He can plot angles and hit genius level trick shots in any sport, create field advantages in his liking simply by tricking outside factors to his bidding, and is natural born war commander. But he isn't aware of it yet, because well, he's just beginning to discover his history and the ancestry that makes up his family. To tell you truthfully, Fade never had the things other kids did growing up, in fact, he had to hurt others to get what they had. Social Darwinism man, survival of the fittest.
While this does in all actuality; make him a bully, it speaks mountains that what he does is merely to help his family. Fade has two younger sisters, and a sickly mother who doesn't want him in their lives. So, instead of getting angry at his mom, he set off to make jewels which he constantly drops by his mothers home. Every few months or so, give or take, he's even able to drop by and see the girls on their way home from school. Fade loves his family very much and if it weren't for his self-righteous step-father he might've still been in a happy, safe, and healthy relationship with them. As it currently stands, that prick is the only one around his hometown that Fade absolutely holds no ability against. For one, even with all his talent, the man is just as good, and smarter. So Fade holds heavy resentment for those with intellects as keen as his, and he shows no respect when he finds them. Honor is a joke, ability is joke, this is a world meant only for the elite.
Fade has sworn that before he dies, he will kill his step-father, not because he's angry. But because he knows that the guy is leaching off what little his Grandfather left to them. This is a man who has tricked him in so many ways, that accepting nothing less than a pike would be shameful on his family's reputation. This deep level of animosity, rage, turmoil... It is what gives him the dark, cold nature, a violent, but yet even oblivious way of seeing the world. After all, it made him lose his mom's love, and destroyed his future to be anything other than some 'mage.' Speaking of mages, Fade once scoffed at them, just hookers in tight clothes and fuckboys who could breathe fire, right? Well fuck those guys-- he thought to himself. Honestly, that's exactly how it was in his head until he ended up leaguing to make money, and in turn becoming one of those bastards, to his great displeasure and annoyance mind you...
The story is long and 'very' annoying for him to explain, but, one tournament led to another and eventually he was enlisted by a private magical academy, he argued joining but they offered him a free home and food which he admits bought his attention for a year or so. It wasn't at all what he wanted for himself though. Unfortunately, with a life of crime behind him via blackmail, being the entrepreneur he sought to be in his early teens was a thing of the past. At least he'd have all the qualities of a business leader for later-- though it didn't mean much at his point.
It was a different era for him "from bitch to bull" as the saying went, Fade ended up casting away all interest in business and focused solely on martial combat, which he strangely enough found himself to be a natural in. The boy was an animal on the battlefield and was born pre-installed with every ounce of battle tactic because of his lineage. In reality, his exterior could be seen as some shield from the studious and calculative person he was on the inside.
When he found that ancient soldiers deriving from some monster was in his blood. He admitted that perhaps fate was moving his forward instead of anger, but that didn't make any damn sense either. Sure enough though, fate was his ally, and Fade ended up excelling in written essays and examines, the man later moved out to become a true warrior. However, contrary to his belief that a union is stronger than a task employed by a single force, he has decided not to join up alongside any guilds and looks out merely for himself or his kin in this world, at least until a guild can muster enough courage to request him on their own-- then why be there? It's worth mentioning that Fade is attracted to females, but isn't so thirsty as to let them control or dictate his actions. The mage looks to better himself on the streets, before bettering himself in the sheets. ~
