Shinrin is a very simple man with fairly simple tastes. Despite his large size and generally stern bearing, he is actually a kind hearted person and loves to spend his time helping friends and common folks in whatever endeavors that he can. Much of his life has been spent on the road from one place to another over the course of his career as a mercenary and as such he has a pretty good affinity with languages and being able to pick up local customs and traditions in very short amounts of time. In addition to this, Shin is generally considered to be fairly wise and is always willing to lend an ear or a few words if it will sort out a problem in short order. Shinrin takes great pride in his significant musculature, and is willing to pit himself physically against anyone when it comes to a contest of purely physical strength. While he may show kindness to anyone, it takes a consistent showing of courage and goodwill on the part of others to earn this giant's respect and those that have done so are worthy of his every effort when called upon.This is a man that doesn't wish to be a hero or have his name known, all that interests him is that whatever he does with his life leaves things a better and safer world for those that follow after.
In Battle/Leadership
Despite his somewhat gentle nature, Shinrin is a true master when it comes to the art of combat and few his size have the speed and prowess that he is able to display to those who are unfortunate enough to be his enemy. Long years among a number of mercenary bands has given this man tremendous skill in the use of any number of weapons and styles of combat. In addition to his learned skills, Shin has the mass and muscle to lift and move several times his own weight without having much of an issue so most normal folks are not willing to get on his bad side after seeing what he can accomplish without any magic whatsoever. The use of magic however, has been a major game changer to Shin as he is well versed in its capability and use in various combat situations but he has only just recently come into his own powers so it has never been something that he has had to deal with learning so he has yet to master its use. All that aside, Shin is a capable and intelligent tactician and strategist with a lot of experience behind his belt and is comfortable leading any number of men or women into battle be it, straight forward war time or guerrilla warfare against a larger force. When it comes to someone else leading however, Shin is usually only willing to follow those who seem to have a sound head on their shoulders or those whose planning actually fits in the skills and knowledge of those that they are leading to good effect.

-Fried Food:His one minor indulgence in life.
-Travelling:Travel was actually the original reason that he became a merc to begin with and is the only reason that he ever met his wife.
-Manual Labor:Shin greatly enjoys being able to put his body to work in the simple tasks that require little more than a strong set of shoulders as it gives him time to ponder things over while keeping him in top trim.
Dislikes:
-Alcohol:A professional merc tends to respect the effects of alcohol and will never imbibe more than a very small quantity and only when it's use outweighs any possible loss of mental or physical sharpness.
-Bureaucrats:Small minded office officials have never done much for him except making things a pain when it came to finding who abducted his family so many years ago.
-Swimming:His large size and weight couple together to make swimming very difficult.
Motivations:
-Retirement:When everything else has been dealt with and he is no longer of use to the younger generations, Shin wishes to settle down and enjoy the rest of his life in peace(Hopefully with his family intact.).
-Start a school:Shin wishes to teach others what he has learned over the years about the art and practices of combat and hopefully instill a sense of honor similar to his own to those who would fight to protect the things they hold dear.
-Justice:Shin has never found out who or what took his wife and child from him and searches constantly to bring those responsible for it to justice.
Fears:
-Drowning:Shin's inability to swim very well makes him leery of large bodies of water.
-Autophobia:The loss of his wife and child triggered this phobia and now he is very scared of losing those close to him.
-Musophobia:Is very frightened by mice and rats but will never admit to such a thing.
