History/Story
History:
"It's a girl!" The middlemaid says as she cleans the newborn. The mother didn't respond. She did not respond for the entire day. She will never respond.
Hence her father, Winston Sigil, named the girl Haia Illie Starstruck, an ancronym for HIS, to show that he loves her forever. Illie Starstruck was also the mother's name.
Haia and her father was oblivious to the great power within her, her mother planned to tell her child when Haia was older but due to unfortunate circumstances, it never came.
Haia's upbringing in Seven was a tough one, Winston was such a man he had no idea how to take care of a growing girl, hence Haia tends to be a more of a tomboy which he does not want her to be. When Haia turned 5, her father was struck with aftershock of grief, he could not work, he would not eat, he would not sleep, mumbling how her mother's death was his fault.
Haia, being a child then, was not helping. She wanted to see her mother, who Winston always lied and said that she is out right now. She would scream and shout about wanting her mother.
Unfortunately, her aunt came to visit. Haia's first reaction was hugging her and calling her Mother. Her aunt was obviously shock but played along and told her to get her father which she did. Her aunt felt it took a long time and went up to hear crying. Haia was shaking her father, lying down on the bed. Her aunt picks Haia up and gives her a hug and comforts her. They moved to her aunt's place soonafter.
When Haia turned 7, she overheard a conversation between her aunt and her uncle, talking about selling her and training her to be a slave. She did not understood this in full depth, but she got the gist of it and went to hide in her room. The house disappeared the same night. Locals say that the tyrant's house suddenly burst into a pillar of light and dark, striking through the heavens in a heavenly display. They say they felt the feelings of freedom and hope the day they went to check. A small 8 year old girl laid on her bed sleeping, tears had wet the sheets. It happened on her birthday.
Haia became a village hero, she was taken care of by a hunter and his family in the outskirts of the village. She became fast friends with the son of the hunter and everyone in the village. But she could not really call them family. It felt like she was there as their hopes and dreams, not really supporting hers. The hunter's son onced asked her what her dream is. She answered.
"Do I even have dreams..."
When Haia turned 11, she started practicing archery with her friend and "father". She was shown to be the more talented one with the long bow while her friend the short bow. But because the long bow was such a hard weapon to use, she was constantly praised, growing her friend's jealously that his father favored another. He devised a plan to get her out of the village.
It was night, the day before Haia's birthday. Her now enemy, tossed her sleeping body into a cart filled with pigs that was leaving the town. He knew it would be there, he had been watching the same cart go back and forth through the village. It would leave for a place far from the village, and when his father asked, he would claim he does not know. However a village wide search had found clues that he did something to her and was exiled.
The pig cart arrived in Hargeon town, Haia woke up to find herself being licked by pigs and a very surprised pig farmer. He wanted to bring her back to the village but she declined, stating that she felt like she did not belong there. But as she was hungry, she took residence in a tavern, with money given to her by the pig farmer. As she reached for her door, she was stopped by a strong hand.
A mage, had sensed something about her. While he was drinking, he felt the presence of another mage, to only find a 12 year old walk in asking for a room and food to be brought to her room. He had to have a conversation with another mage, Hargeon lack them in a sense. Hence begun a small step towards magic.
The mage was a practioner of Lux de Hope, but was not very good with it, sometimes he could not cast at all. But he taught her the best he came, and realized that he was getting better as he taught her. So they became friends, and a strong student teacher relationship. Haia would often tell her about her past, which he gave a listening ear. In return, he would make Haia run laps, it helped him shame of anxiety. They parted ways when Haia turned 13, as he could teach her no more. Haia became a traveller, wandering between town to town.
She came to Fiore after a long trek through the mountains, she made herself a tent at the outskirts of the Eastern Forest and oftened hunted her food and took baths in the river. She would sell rare hunts for jewels and bought herself an ironwood bow(she was using traps and bolas which were not as effective) and arrows soonafter. She left Fiore after a year, on March 14.
Now 19, her travels had brought her to Talonia. Oddly enough, the first thing she did was look for a job. She got one, kill a large monster. She came back weeks later with its head and with the jewels, bought a house in Talonia. The place was often locked however, as she oftened went out of Talonia for jobs, but she would always come back.
RP Sample: "I always wonder how is it like to have family..." Haia looked up to the starry night, her eyes glistenning with tears. If there was ever a moment she was emotional about, it would be now, a 1 to 1 talk. Her eyes trail to the ground, her head tilting, following its lead. She was a firefly slowly glow. "You know... ones who you can rely for support..." The firefly takes off. "Ones you can gladly come home to..." The firefly drops a bit, as if listening to Haia's words had struck a cord in the heart. "Ones who can keep you filled with determination."
