Dreaming of Technology [Job]

Neutral Grounds were another place that Rose has never been to! It seemed that almost every single day from the point of her joining Black Rose had some manner of a new experienced prepared for the young magician. And that certainly was not a bad thing in the slightest! Young Rose loved exploring the world and people that could be found within it, making new friends as well if given the chance. But she kinda doubted that would happen today, as she literally was just randomly walking around, trying to explore. She was a wizard now after all, she had to know the nation of Fiore as best as she could if she wanted to do her job effectively. Thankfully she already somewhat knew a whole lot of places from her dreaming. It was a good thing that her big sister loved travelling, since all what she saw was projected into this girl’s dreams. All that experience at least partially stayed with her, make her a tad bit confused from time to time. It was always fun time when she felt like she knew the place but was there for the very first time. Oh well, she would no longer have the feeling once she gets to see all these places for herself with her own eyes. And right now, she was doing just that in this industrial part of Fiore! It was a really weird place with all kinds of gears, pipes and levers all around the place. But that wasn’t even the strangest part of it all! What was most weird to Rose was her magic. The moment she entered this place, it was almost as if she was no longer able to use her daydreaming abilities. She didn’t really try to confirm it, since there were people all around her, but it did feel that way. Oh well, she didn’t exactly need to use them here anyway, so it was all good. Hopefully she won’t get attack by random bandits that jump out of bushes, that would be the worst! Instead she got attacked by a random lady that jumped out of some boxes! That was alright, probably.

”Hello there young lady! You seem to be new to this place. Could it be that you do not yet own one of our iLacs? If that is the case, then let me provide with one for no price at all! All we ask is that you mention our company whenever you are asked what kind of communicating device you are using!”

Yup, this was certainly strange. Poor little Rose just blankly stared at the odd lady with confusion filling her eyes, her tiny head slightly tilted to the left side. People that were walking by didn’t seem to mind one bit however, meaning they were probably used to all this. After several seconds of dreadful silence, even the strange lady realized that this wasn’t exactly going the way she had hoped. But before she could continue, the young magician finally decided to speak up, cutting her off.

”But I don’t need any iLac! Mama always sad that I should never take any candies from strangers because they could be bad, wanting to hurt me! Are you an evil lady? I don’t like evil ladies...”

Now, those words managed to draw attention of the crowd! A child talking about candies and evil people, that was a pervert alert alright. Not wanting to get lynched, the lady had to improvise rather quickly, taking Rose’s hands and forcing the device into them as she quickly shoved new words out of her mouth.

”Oh no, no! I don’t want anything in return at all, as I said! This is no candy, it’s a communication lacrima! That said, it can do plenty of other things as well! There are even fun games installed that can keep the boredom at bay! Now I have to go, wish you luck!”

Still afraid of the crowd getting the wrong idea, the poor lady stormed off as quickly as she could, not leaving a single trail behind. But Rose on the other hand… oh, her eyes were sparkling again! Games, that was something she will never say no to! So in the world everything worked out, the employee in charging of handing the iLacs was not labeled a pervert and the little black haired girl got herself a new piece of technology for playing games. And occasional call to someone… yeah, probably just for the games.
