A Sinless City {Job/Elyx}

Surely there had to be at least one thing fun to do in Era. Lynn had been walking around bored out of her wits with her hands shoved into her pockets, dragging her feet lazily on her aimless journey to nowhere in particular. In fact, the only aim she had for the day was to go to bed at night at the right time and not stay up doing stupid, unproductive things for her life. Zlatan wasn’t here beside her right now, he was soaring above the city like the winged divinity he was, not even bothering to check if Lynn was safe because he, like everyone else, knew that Era was swarming with Rune Knights as it was the city that housed the famous Magic Council, that she never saw did anything useful to the general public, but she guessed it was supposed to be that way. Because in her time, she hadn’t actually seen anything threatening enough for the Magic Council to reveal themselves and show up on the battlefield themselves. Speaking of which, she didn’t even know who occupied which Council seat. Mysterious. But it wasn’t for her to worry, anyway. She was barely an important wizard. A Rising Star before, but nothing now, although what she had done as a Rising Star will still live on in her legacy.

Recently, Lynn had given up her Rising Star position numero uno for the next worthy wizard to take. According to the rules, Rising Star is a position that only those who are below A-rank could hold. And now that she had just finished her A-rank examination with the notorious guildmaster of Sabertooth - Frederik. She acquired the rank almost effortlessly, which meant that she must have been really deserving of it or Frederik saw great potential in her. Lynn knew that she wasn’t the strongest mage in the world, but if she tried hard enough, she could get there at the peak in her life. Everyone has a peak in their life where they are at the most successful situation, and if you can keep it up, you will never descend from the peak, but if you can’t keep up with it, you will not only descend, you will tumble down, plummet to the ground where you are a nothing once again. Lynn had seen this happen to people, which is why she accepts this concept although it is an old traditional saying that she had heard of long ago. In due time, she would be at her peak, and if such a thing really did exist, she hoped she could keep up with it because if she tumbled down, she wouldn’t know how to pick herself back up.

Rolling around at the speed of sound! Got places to go, gotta follow m- Well, that was fun. But that was the first song that came to mind as of currently. He was cutting through forests when he slammed his heads against the trees, causing them to fly away as he continued to fun. This was urgent, many murders being caused by another group of people. More dark guilds to fight? Always fun. Ignite was not here this time, no more things for her to do. There was another edition of the magazine she had always wanted, more rifles. And so she had picked it up and decided to read it rather than actually get involved in the fights. That was fine, she was going to be an expert with them. In battle, she would have the best aims and can fight battles easily. A sniper was always useful to have, and in the parties on jobs he has taken, there normally was never one in the first place. But now he was going to solo the job, or so he thought. He did not remember being in Era, and if he recalled this correctly, this would be the first time he had ever been in the place. Oh well. He would continue to dash as he created an unofficial road through the forest, the trees flying everywhere. Those things were heavy, he had hoped that he did not end up making one of them fall onto a village. He'll repair the place himself, it would take about an hour if he were really lazy, but that was an hour of time lost from his life. Right now, he needed to be on the job, and so he would just hope. Hey, he felt lucky today. For some reason, the Sky Slayer felt invincible. The air around him tasted sweeter than ever. This was going to be a great job, he just had a feeling in him. Maybe this was what it was like to have no stress and be happy at the same time. Everything seemed bright and happy, and he would like to embrace with all with a big hug.

So of course, Lynn had to be in Era as well, his movement stopped right in front of her, nearly giving off the impression that he might run her over. What are you doing here Lynn? Elyx would ask, concern on his face before tilting his head to the side, his hands in his pockets as his light brown eyes would show the worry. His lips were neutral. Do you not know that it is dangerous to be here during this time? Random murders are going around here, and we could be in serious trouble if caught from behind. What are you even here to do anyways? The Wizard Saint would ask. Yeah, Lynn could defend herself, but that did not stop him from worrying about her. She was a sweet young lady that was older than he was, and she was a nice person despite being the last person he would consider a role-model.

Lynn was just walking around the Council’s residing town when she got a familiar scent. Rather fascinating, who could it be? When she rounded the corner and bumped into a very familiar face, she blinked, shouted, “Elyx!” and almost jumped into his face. But the other wizard did not seem too interested in exchanging greetings nor was he excited to see her, but in fact he was...worried? She could taste the concern in the question that he asked. “What am I doing here? Having fun of course! What about you?” she joked. She understood very well the reason for his anxiety when he spoke the next sentence. “Oh, right. About that. So it seems you’re here to find the killers as well,” she said, nodding her head to show her understanding of the reason he was here. Then, she would order Zlatan to descend. “I have actually been walking around a bit and I see nothing out of the ordinary. I am guessing that they have received some sort of news about our arrival, making them wary and hide.” This was all according to hers and Zlatan’s observation. The Rune Knights of course, were missing in some parts of the city, unlike before. She remembered the last time she was here, and it was actually swarming with Rune Knights not scarcely situated like it was now.

Like always, Lynn had a plan. “We will not split up under any circumstance,” she told him firstly, then thought through her plan again. She hoped that Elyx listened and didn’t say no. Well he was not the type to be like that in the first place either, because she had worked with him before and their last job was a success. The real problem now was that it was not the same nature. They were not facing monsters in a different world. They were dealing with actual people - humans, and in a town that houses the Magic Council, the town of Era. They could not risk anything, even though Lynn did not even know what these ‘risks’ were herself now that she thought about it actually. She was just being cautious and making sure they did not do something that they should not. Zlatan landed beside her gently, a while later, he had just been flying to a different area, trusting that Lynn would not be harmed in the time he was away flying around alone, because she was wandering rather close to the council building and that meant that she was safe right? The Magic Council had like a bunch of guards placed everywhere around it, so she had to be safe, unless the guards were evil, or there was someone evil in a guard’s disguise.

Well, at this point, he would not be too surprised. Lynn was on the same job that he was on, and probably a few more mages as well. This did become a huge event for some reason, not that he quite know why. Dark guilds attacking seemed like the bigger threat, which was a lot to say at this point. Then I assume we are going to party up then. The Sky Slayer would tell her, his hands being placed on his hips before he would tilt backwards. This was just so that he could stretch, his lips letting a yawn escape before he returned back to normal. Just the scenery made him want to sleep, was this some effect of Era? Maybe. It did not matter though, sleeping effects can't touch him, only a natural sleep would do. Even then, with his Vivid Dreaming effect, he could literally fight battles while he is sleeping... That isn't a joke or an overstatement. The Ice Slayer would then tell him the plan, in which he thought she might have had an idea as to how they could complete the job. So the first part of it was pretty clear, stay together so that they could handle ambushes. It would require them to look out for more than just themselves, but they had a good flow in battle, their moves connected and they were able to keep up with each other when it came to pace. But disappointment would wash over as she just ended it there. Well okay then. Well Lynn, that is a plan for how we keep ourselves alive. As a Bounty Hunter, it is my job to search for the enemy, rather than let the enemy find you. I suggest we go stealth for now before we look. That way, we reduce the chance of an ambush. The Wizard Saint would explain to her, his hands in his pockets as he would look to the side. Nothing seemed too odd... Which was the problem. The quiet nature for some reason gave him an odd feeling. I think we need to get out quickly, before we end up being caught already. We have to walk casually, letting them think that we don't know that there are enemies here. Once we do that, we quickly lose them and hide. Sounds like a plan?

The reason why he suggested this was because of the possibility where they already have been caught and are on watch. Elyx had his aura being much different from the average human, so they were unable to miss him. However, if he chose to conceal it, they will know that he knows of their existence, and they might strike too early, putting the people in danger. It was a risky plan, but it would save many innocent lives if it worked.

Party up? Lynn was not exactly sure what he meant by that, but she paid no heed since it sounded like a joke, or something to crack her up..? Instead of thinking further, Lynn decided to continue with her plans, until she was interrupted. With an ‘are you serious?’ look, she added, after he talked about the plan he had, “I wasn’t done…” And now that he had given her his plan, she blinked. This was completely the opposite of what she had thought. “Stealth? What is stealth? Are we seriously going to creep up on them!? My plan might prove to be much better yours. We don’t need to hide or anything. We fight them, head on,” she told him with firmness. “Except for the fact that we don’t know where they are. We have to find them first, of course,” she added a little hesitantly. Elyx would then talk about how they were supposed to get ‘out’ immediately. To be frank, he was making the least sense to her. First of all he was talking about sneaking up on a bunch of enemies they did not even know the exact locations of. Secondly, she was saying that they needed to ‘get out’ immediately. Exactly where did he plan to sneak up on the nonexistent (until then) enemies? Outside of Era? Lynn shook her head to get rid of the confusion.

“Okay you have thoroughly fucked up my mind, so let’s be clear now. Where are we going, when we’re ‘getting out’? Outside of Era?” she asked to clarify things. Well if Elyx was certain about his plans, they were a little too late. Zlatan was too big for anyone to not notice and now that he had already landed - which the townspeople will have noticed surely seeing how big and attention-grabbing he was - and was standing next to Lynn and Elyx. How exactly would they carry out such a plan with such a big flaw in it? Lynn almost slapped herself, for not listening to Elyx before ordering Zlatan to come down to where they were. Then she would tell the Wizard Saint, “Well, you know. Since Zlatan is here and all, I think it’s a little too late to play stealth,” with a sheepish laugh. Obviously she was not feeling the least bit discouraged by how she had ruined his plan. She could always come up with new plans! And their new plan was: “Alright so, together we will scour every crack and crevice of this town until we find our enemies and crush them into dust!” A bit harsh, but she did not mean it literally. She had never tried crushing a human being into dust.

And so of course she would then begin to question why they would go through the town with stealth. Because that was the better idea when dealing with enemies you have no idea about? Maybe because they could all have the same amount of strength that he had? Elyx wasn't scared in all honesty, but he would always plan when in battle. The number of mages that were considered H rank were getting lower and lower every day. There was becoming a big scarce of them, he was able to lift up only two fingers currently when it came to the number of top ranked beings. The first one was himself. The second one was Deniel. That it. The quantity did not even fill up the fingers he had on one palms. So to lose himself, or to lose a potential legal mage like Lynn was far too risky. But... Then again, he could not let himself trail on his own instinct. If he wanted to learn more about the world, he was going to have to be a lot more open to other ideas than thinking he knew best. And while there was more logic to go stealthfully rather than make a mess of the town, he would not engage in a debate or an argument. All right then, since Pride let us be exposed, we would need an area to attack first. If you know which crevice to strike first, lead the way. I will catch up, so no need to hold back on your speed. The Wizard Saint would explain, placing his palms in his pockets. His aura was still concealed from the enemies, in case they already were around him. Now the party leader was Lynn, she was going to be the one to guide him around. Of course, when he thinks something is too risky, he is going to stop her. But at this point, what could be any riskier than the plan of looking for them without any clues or evidence. Didn't she was to try to get information from some sort of bar? Or maybe some alcohol, Rum even since he heard that stuff was heavy as hell and would force her to relax. But despite these thoughts, he'd remain silent and obey. He was pretty much under her control for the moment, only until they went onto the battlefield, or when he sees and extreme that they are about to cross. Hopefully that would not be the case, the enemies were going to get more kills as more time passes. They could get a killstreak by the point. Something about that felt familiar, but nothing seemed to connect, and so the phrased would be ignored. It probably was not too important anyways.

The problem they were going to face now was what to do next. Since Lynn suggested that stealth was not the best idea right now it seemed she was responsible for finding a solution. Elyx assured her that he could catch up wherever she decided to go now, so there was no need to worry about that. Lynn nodded, thinking long and hard. She did not realise she was staring in Elyx’s face the entire time she was thinking, making her eyes widen when she noticed finally, immediately turning so that she was not burning a hole in Elyx’s face. Huh, that was ironic. An Ice Dragon Slayer, ‘burning’ a hole in someone’s face. She almost chuckled at the thought, but controlled herself. She had already stared him down, she was not going to make a fool of herself as well. Zlatan grunted, licking his feathers as if he was trying to clean them. He did not need to do that to have them clean anyway. They were automatically clean after every battle, or anything that would dirty his pure white wings. She then looked up, locking her eyes on Ignite, then turned to Elyx again. “Er, maybe we should go around looking for them instead of standing around and thinking of stuff,” she said, rubbing the back of her head a bit before continuing: “For this we will have to split up. Since you said that you wouldn’t have a problem catching up to me with your H-rank speed then once I find the enemy I will send out a signal and you can come to me. If you’re the one who finds them first, then I will come to you. Don’t worry I have Zlatan who can fly pretty fast.” She gave Elyx a promising wink, then hoisted herself onto the back of her pet lion.

The next moment they were already in the air, soaring above Era, the city that was supposed to be swarming with Rune Knights and guards everywhere, basically. She sighed as she looked around, trying to find a hint of enemy. Soon, she got bored and so descended to the ground. “Alright Zlatan now would be the perfect time for you to use your senses,” she told him, and Zlatan knew exactly what she was talking about so he listened to the Earth. They stood there waiting to receive something, but soon the Earth responded with a series of vibrations nearby, from the east of their standing point. Once Zlatan passed this information to his mistress, Lynn released a diamond shaped ice structure into the sky that began to release snowflakes as soon as it was high enough for everyone in the city to see.

Split up? Well if Lynn was that sure of herself, he was not going to doubt her again. Besides, if she needed help like she did last time, he will get to her easily and execute devastating spells to send the mages away without a fight. Provided they be so stupid and stick around, they might end up feeling a taste of his H rank spell. Not yet has a being that he faced off against endure the transformation stage of the spell, and for some reason, he had doubts that these enemies would be any different. Nodding his head, he would agree with her plan. All right. If we find nothing within the next hour, we will meet up back at this area and rethink our plan. The Sky Slayer would explain before looking over to the side, he can cover one part of the city while she handles the other side. I will not be on my way. See you in a bit! The God of Ishval would explain before pressing his legs downwards, then extended them like a spring to launch himself upwards, his feet landing on the roof of a shop. Another hop would be taken, allowing him to exit Lynn's eyesight and look around. The mages had to be among the people, hidden as well. Activity that deemed suspicious should be checked on first. A bit of recon needs to be done. The most common place any fool could have their identities exposed are in bars, where many rumors were spread. So that was a possibility to check out the intelligence of their enemies. Provided there was nothing there to get info on them, he would understand their minds and how well they could blend into the scene. However, if there was information on them, they were probably not going to be too hard to take down. Bars were common for people to talk and get details off of their chest, and most of the activity is checked on. If any person later in time came to ask for the details of someones actions, some bartender will arrive and gladly give away the details given to him.

Now where to find a bar... A bar... He would think, regretting the splitting up already. If anyone knew where a bar would be located, it would be Lynn. And now he left her behind. And it was not likely she stayed in one place for as long as a few minutes. Though he could catch up to her, he did not want to make a scene, and so he would keep his peace, hoping that he would be able to locate her or a bar quickly. After all, he did place only an hour onto them.

'Monster Dice' :

Apparently her new friends were not all too friendly. In fact, they attempted to intimidate her! Lynn was completely unfazed by this action. She wondered if she was the first one to meet their enemies. With a smirk, she watched as a group of around ten men stood in a curve in front of her. They were not surrounding her, which meant that she would not have to worry about any surprise attacks from behind. How would she know if there were no sneaky enemies behind her, you would ask. Well the answer was, simply because Zlatan had the ability to sense vibrations in the Earth and right now he could hear no similar vibrations from behind them. Lynn hoped that Elyx had seen her signal, and hoped again that he was not also meeting a group of enemies otherwise there was no way he could come and help her with the ones she was facing right now. But thinking of that again, she also realised that Elyx was an H-rank which meant that he could handle pretty much anything and so she shrugged, coming back to reality. The men snickered and made fun of her, which was only natural. It would have been awkward if they went straight ahead to fight her without actually commenting on her large breasts or catcalling her, and the like. Zlatan almost pounced on them but with Lynn’s telepathic command, he refrained from doing so. “Alright girl, what are you here for? You don’t seem like you’re just a passerby. Are you planning on fighting us?” one would laugh. Right. That was definitely what she was here for.

“It seems that you are correct, my friend! I am here for the sole purpose of fighting and your little friends. Don’t know you all are, but looks like you’ve been doing some bad things around here! Time to put an end to that,” she said in a rather loud and booming voice so that each and every one of them heard her loud and clear. She could see the change in their expressions now, which made her feel accomplished in a way. She had struck a nerve or something because the next thing that the previous guy said was not too friendly. In fact, it was the most hostile thing she had ever heard. However, it did not affect her. She did pretend to be intimidated and said, “Ohh, I’m so scared! You’re going to beat me up? That sounds like the opposite of what’s going to happen! Especially once you see the surprise I have for all of you.” She was actually referring to Elyx as the surprise, so it would be good for her if he arrived soon.

Well, the bar was not quite what he had expected. There were a lot of poles, and a lot of women sliding their bodies against the poles. A lot of jewels being thrown at them, also something he could not understand. Lots of the people in there were undressed, and asking anyone would have been a stupid idea. Lust was not something that he was new to, but he was unwilling to address it. And since that place seemed to have a lot of it, it was just better for him to just exit the scene before an actual scene started. Besides, if there were people following him and asking him about what he was doing over there, it would place a terrible reputation onto himself. Could one imagine it? What is up Sorcerers Magazine? I'm your reporter, Nimpha Yukino, and lets get right into the news! Today we have got live footage of Elyx Reiaki, the third God of Ishval, coming from the Strip Club! That's right, he came from the strip club! No puns intended! Not only did he go there, but it turns out he took a harem of strippers with him to his house! Oh man, just the thought of that made him shiver cold shivers. Enhancing his senses, he would try to look for any hidden cameras or recordings. This did not seem to be the case, but he was able to pick up on something nearby. Words. They were blurred for the moment, but after focusing on the noise, he picked up what they were saying. Lynn was involved, and she did not seem to be alone. Though he had missed the first part of her conversation, he was able to catch onto the second phrase that she had said to the enemies. “Ohh, I’m so scared! You’re going to beat me up? That sounds like the opposite of what’s going to happen! Especially once you see the surprise I have for all of you.” Well... If she had any surprise, it was going to have to wait. Because this sounds like a trail for Elyx to take in order to get to their targets.

Once again, he would leap up into the air towards the direction he heard this coming from, over the building once again before he saw multiple dots onto the ground. Taking a chance, he'd dive downwards towards those dots, landing on the head of one of them before placing his fists up. Surprise! Elyx would exclaim, losing the element of surprise. He'd stomp onto the ground below him to cause a huge sudden gust of wind to fly their way, launching their bodies into the air and back a good distance. It was not even a spell, and he sent them flying. Come on, you wanted to play a numbers game right? We're just two compared to you all. Come at us!

Lynn started to count the seconds until she Elyx arrived. Of course at first the guys were sort of confused about this ‘surprise’ that she mentioned, but after about five seconds they began to laugh at her, making her want to slap her own face for making such a useless assumption that Elyx might be here anytime soon. Of course he might be meeting his own gang of pricks! But, she still had hope. Hope was all she had and hope was all she would give up in about three seconds because hope was not going to save her today! The first thing that happened was one of those mages charging for her but midway stopped and launched some kind of dark ball. Dark magic? The spell was rather weak, like he was testing the waters and was repelled by the protection bubble that Zlatan put up. Lynn was tempted to taunt the mage that tried, but then she was not sure if Zlatan’s bubble could withstand if all the ten or eleven or twelve mages attacked them all at once. Probably not. Certainly not. Lynn sighed mentally, she was not going to show her frustration to the enemies. They would take it as an advantage and maybe joke with her even more. She was not going to have that. No more jokes!


The Ice Dragon Slayer spun on her heels at such a delightful sound. “Oh good gods! You’re late!” she scolded Elyx who had dived towards the enemy straight away. Zlatan made sure Lynn was safe, lifting her and placing her his back with his tail and raising his feet off the ground, perfectly in time to miss the shockwave that Elyx’s arrival had caused. The darkness mages lost their balance, since the shockwave was accompanied by gusts of wind that blew them away slightly, or at least made it look like they were blown away. “Nice,” said the ice slayer to the sky slayer. Once the trauma had passed, Zlatan returned to the ground, allowing Lynn to get off him so she could help Elyx, though of course he was always in front of her in battle, well most of the time. Zlatan would then perform his signature move (not officially), a deafening roar that had a debuffing effect on enemies. They would attack and move slower, essentially, and would kind of sort of be shocked by the roar. It worked mostly on lower rankers, but it kind of stunned them to an extent. Lynn hoped that was enough for now since Elyx could probably handle the rest. She would stand back and observe how he fought. Being a God of Ishval and all, she knew that watching him fight would teach her a thing or two.

The mages were more silent at this time, being humbled now by the presence of the new mage that had arrived. Lynn would greet him in her usual Lynn style. Hey, Gods of Ishval never are on time! The Wizard Saint would reply to her, a smile on his face before his head turned back to the dark mages in front of them. Now it was time to play with them. Each of them had their own set of dark tendrils, which definitely showed him what they planned to do. Overwhelming him was a nice strategy, but there was no way he could lose to them, not while they have that as their only tactic. Placing his right fist into his left palm, he caused the wind to spin around his body heavily as waves of air was beginning to cut. His eyes were turning from light brown to a violent shade of violet. His eyes locked onto each enemy, the Sky Slayer had been awoken. The blood running through his veins were insane, instincts were on a much higher ground than it was before. Lets dance ladies and gentlemen! The brunette would call out to them. One of them accepted his challenge, firing a tendril his way. Instead of moving out of the way, he'd place his palms around and wrap his hands around it, stopping it from piercing his body. In return for that attempt, the enemy would try to pull back the tendril to reuse it. However, Elyx did not want that. The man was trapped, as his strength was nowhere near enough to match his. Nope, this is mine now. A hard yank would cause the man to fly toward the Sky Slayer, and once within arm reach, an impactful fist, launching the man into two more of the mages. and knocking all three of them out. The rest however seemed to want to have a go at it, which will bring them to a final result that they will not enjoy.

With a simple snap of the finger, they would be held in place, unable to move due to the air pressure around them being much too strong for them to fight. They were now jailed, unable to escape his next action. Sky deity... He breathed in to have air in his lungs, the more air added, the more air pressure. Once that had been done, he's release by exhaling, a huge spiral of dark wind emitting from his lips. BELLOWS! Like a bullet train, they had all been ran over. They were all launched a huge distance away, as in, towards the sky as dots before they just disappeared. So what was that surprised you were going to show them again?

Lynn rolled her eyes, folding her arms now as Elyx said that Gods of Ishval were late. Really? “What a show off!” she shouted loud enough for him to hear from where she was standing now, a bit far so that she would not be blasted by Elyx’s attacks with the enemies. She then realised that he used wind related magic and that she was not going to learn anything that she could use with her current magic. Unless she learnt a different magic that had something to do with wind. Zlatan would stand behind her, keeping quiet as he knew that from this point on Elyx knew what he was doing and did not need his help. Lynn refrained from commenting when he said something about dancing again. She had never seen him dance, not even at the bar that they went to last time after their previous job. Maybe she should take him to a club this time and see how well he danced. With that thought, she chuckled, looking at Zlatan and petting his head because he obviously knew what she was thinking, not because of the telepathic link, but because of the mischievous look she had on her face. The telepathic link did not let him know everything she was thinking, just like how Lynn could not read everything Zlatan was thinking. But that was not needed. They had been at each other’s sides for more time than you could imagine, so it was easy to tell what one or the other was thinking.

Of course, since they did not know what Elyx was capable of, one of them would test him, like they tested her, with a tentacle...that Elyx grabbed with his hand and claimed his. Lynn almost laughed out loud, but too keep things on a serious note, she stopped herself, face reddening, however. With that, Elyx yanked the tentacle towards him and gave the guy a powerful punch that would make him fly towards their little group, knocked away two more of them. “Ouch,” Lynn said then giggled. Before she could say anything more, Elyx had already activated a spell that would be the end of them. With eyes wide, Lynn would walk closer to him as the spell had finished and the enemies were blown away into the sky and completely disappeared. Elyx then turned to her and asked what the surprise she was going to show them was. Lynn could feel her cheeks heat up as her eyes widened. How did he know that!? How in the world did he hear that!!?? She definitely did not want him to hear that! Because the surprise was him, and she hadn’t asked him for permission to use him as her own surprise for the enemies. But there was no use in lying anyway so she blinked and looked down at her feet as she didn’t want him to witness how red her face was becoming. “You,” she said, biting her lip. She had to muster up a lot to bring herself to admit to him. “Sorry about that,” she added then looked up at him with a sheepish laugh.

He'd blink when her face began to blush, it was only a question, right? If Lynn did not know, he was able to hear the wind and anything in it, including sound. Being H rank as well, sound is magnified. Basically, nothing within a mile or two can go without being unheard clearly. While this is the case, he tends to block this hearing for the most part, allowing him to listen to things like a normal human. But Lynn had her own tone of voice that stood above any crowd, perky, happy, a little bit stupid, but overall recognizable voice. With one weak little reply, she'd give him his answer. Him... Okay then... Was he a piece in the plan? Did she actually expect for him to hear it? If so, that meant she was definitely a good planner. After all, he did not expect that to be her signal. Still though, it was kind of awkward. What if he had not heard her? But before given the chance to just as awkwardly reply, she'd then apologize to him. One right palm would be placed behind the back of his head, scratching a bit awkwardly before he just as sheepishly chuckles as well. He'd close his eyes and smile, hopefully that being enough to comfort her. That's fine. I'm just glad I got here in time, you know? So how about we just continue on... Without splitting up this time. I ended up in some weird places you know. Elyx would humbly explain as if it were casual. Both hands were placed in his pockets and his eyes would avert from side to side, looking at the many shops around them. This area seemed a little bit more innocent that he had expected. Maybe there was just some dark area that he was in previously. Last he checked, there was a weird building with too much light skin and bodies. But before given the chance to speak of the tale, he'd then stop in place, sensing something else along his radar. Wait... Wait... Wait... There it was.

We are not done yet, some backup is on the way. Should we bail out and save our magic power? Or should we take them out and take on the incoming wave? Elyx would ask, bracing his feet against the ground. It seems like he was going to have a fun time, whether it be on hot pursuit or in the heat of battle. Once again, the Sky Slayer was letting Lynn choose their fate. Either way worked, they both sounded fun in his opinion. Make your choice fast, or else I'll pummel through them regardless. A warning. The mages were arriving, looking like dots out in the distance, but the dots were getting bigger.

The fact that Elyx was not angry at her for using him in her plan made her so relieved she almost sighed, but succeeded in keeping her cool. “Oh really!? I would love to hear about your adventures without me!” she said, laughing. She really wanted to know what happened to him when he went out searching for enemies himself. What he said made her so curious, you would have no idea. Because she was the one who made weird things happen in his life such as alcohol, bars and the like. He was also a passive smoker since Lynn smoked like fuck. She probably spent more money on cigarettes than on beauty accessories because she knew a lot of girls who spent so much time and money on making themselves look beautiful, even though it did not work for some of them. Okay that was a mean thought, but true anyway. Some people just can not be helped. OKAY STOP WITH THE MEAN THOUGHTS. As a matter of fact, she barely bought beauty accessories. Actually she had never bought one. She really needed to stop thinking about this.

“Okay not splitting out may be a better idea,” Lynn nodded, now walking further. Reaching a few meters from their previous location, Elyx seemed to have noticed something that Lynn could not. “What?” she would ask at his first sentence then add, “Oh? Bail? That is not a word in my dictionary,” with a wide grin. Well she was that type of person. She never let anything go past her if they proved to be a threat. She would purify their souls, which could mean killing them most of the time. “There’s no such choice to make. You should know me by now,” she told Elyx who was telling her to choose between bailing or fighting. Saving magic power? Pfft. Who did that? If there was anything they needed to save it was the innocent population of Era. Elyx hardly needed to care about his magic power. Lynn on the other hand barely used her magic power, so...yeah. Lynn looked at the approaching mages who were the size of ants that were growing every second. They were probably there to avenge their dead brothers. Little did they know that only meant they were going to join their brothers in death. Zlatan followed close behind like always, keeping an eye on the group that was coming.

“Er, maybe you can toss them out of the game, like you did with those guys just now? I don’t think you need my help,” she said folding her arms and pouting slightly. She liked to be useful, but with Elyx she felt unnecessary. She was only thankful he would accept her as a job partner, but him doing all the work, she felt useless.

'Monster Dice' :

When she declared that she wanted to hear of his adventures of light skin and ripped clothing, he felt like unleashing another Sky Deity Bellows as an excuse to puke. The wind would probably take care of it, he was sure of it. Now that he thought about it, if a slayer were to puke, would they actually spit out their element? A possible experiment to try out one day maybe. But that was besides the point. Placing his hands in his pockets as he saw the next incoming group, Lynn would then choose to agree with him, in her usual style. Of course, he could not help but smile as a thought ran through his mind. You have a Dictionary? What? He could not help it. It would be in good humor if he actually said it. It's not like he actually thought she was stupid. Maybe she did not think things all the way through, but who was to say that he did that all of the time. Then again, Iza never really did think anything through, so that nulled his question completely. It was like the word drama. Drama was a word that was used WAY too often. In his dictionary, he would consider that a non-existent word. Instead, he would replace it with two different terms. Good Drama. And bad drama. If drama were Elyx saving Fiores water supply after getting into a verbal argument with someone... And rape allegations were drama... Why the hell would both things be labeled as the same sort of thing? Shaking his head violently as his thoughts would clear up, he'd prepare himself as the oncoming enemies were approaching the scene. All right, I'll take them out. Or rather, a partner of mine will. But don't expect this to be the same way. You should have a crack at them as well, they are kind of fun to swing at once you get used it them.

With that, both of his palms would face forward as the wind from his body would release, crafting some art in the process. The outline took form of a miniature bird at first. Nothing too much. But as more wind would spin, the bird began to have a form. The size grew big, the winds growing violent until eventually... It ended up being a huge size and had a free will of it's own. The bird would emit a loud call, shaking the ground below a little bit from the impact of the sound. Servant of the Sky Deity! He pointed over to them like they were Bowling pins. Charge! And so the Phoenix Bird would lunge over towards the enemies, mowing them down easily and sending them all flying.

Elyx looked sick for a moment, but he was not really sick, maybe he was pretending to be sick because of something she said. She did just talk about wanting to know about his adventures without her, but it looked like he did not have so much fun on them, which was obvious when he said that it was weird and all. He did not say anything though, so she wondered what he was thinking about when he made that sick face. Lynn decided she would not ask him further, so instead of bombarding him with more questions, she decided to focus on their job more now. So now they were going to be facing MORE darkness mages who were already nearing them. She did not know what Elyx was thinking but when asked if he needed any help, he would say that she should try a swing at it because it was fun. She shrugged then nodded. “Alright, I think I will give it a try, not like I don’t want to, I’m just not sure if you’ll need my help,” she laughed, then stuck out her tongue at him. He would then summon his spell he was going to use against the enemies. A phoenix! “Wow,” she said. It was beautiful. Well mainly because she had never seen one before.

It seemed that the phoenix was what Elyx was going to use to get rid of the incoming enemies. Thankfully, it was not made out of fire, or it was going to melt her spells. Rather, it was made of wind, since he was a Sky Slayer. So while his sky phoenix creature would clear out the darkness mages, she would call upon a blizzard, falling down upon the darkness mages who were already having trouble dealing with the phoenix. Of course the bird would not be harmed at all since Lynn had deemed it an ally. The ice that fell from the sky would explode upon contact with the ground, dealing damage to the darkness mages who would be knocked out in the end, already done for. Lynn shrugged, her blizzard fading away as she folded her arms, flipping a lock of blue hair behind her back. “That was kind of easy,” she said with a laugh. Obviously it was easy because Elyx was there. She noted that she should not get so used to dealing everything this way. She was not going to do every job in her life with him. She twisted her waist to one side then another, producing loud cracking noises and then saying, “Oops,” then letting out a loud sigh. “Alright let’s keep going then.” And she would begin to take the lead once again.

And with one strike, thanks to the ice magic that had been holding them in place, Elyx's servant would charge through all of the dark mages. In the end, they were all flown away by the rippling winds that the beast was made out of. Placing his hands in his pockets, he'd watch as the beast the returned back to where it belonged, right by his side. It was rather elegant while tame, it's noble and majestic facial expression that it emitted was more than enough to lower his own tensions. Placing his right hand away from his jeans, he'd begin to pet the top of the Wind Phoenix with a smile on his face. Very well done. He'd tell it before looking over towards Lynn. And how was he supposed to forget what she had done to give him an assist? Thanks for the help, the fight might have lasted longer if you had not done that. And as of currently, time is the last thing that should be wasted. So you are right, we should probably get out of here. All right, and so with that, he'd begin to walk forward. On second thought, ·however, the Phoenix was already there for him, why did he need to walk and ache his legs? So instead, he would jump onto the back of the servant before laying his back against its own, crossing his legs and stretching his arms outwards. A small sigh of relaxation would escape from his lips when he had executed this action, how good it felt to get a ride. What more? The fact that he did not suffer from motion sickness. For some reason, only the Sky based slayers seem to be immune to that sort of thing by default. What a special weakness, but if that was the only one, then they can be very fearful on the battlefield.

While looking up at the sky, he would then try to spark up a conversation with his partner. So now that we are here, am I to tell you of the weird story that I have? It's in a weird location, and with people just as weird... And slutty. Lets see, there was a lot of women, a lot of skin showing, a lot of metal poles... A lot of music, a lot of drinks. I swear it was the weirdest bar I have ever been to. Is it a nude bar or something? Well, that was a short explanation of it. Maybe Lynn had the answer that he was looking for. In case he needed to refer to the place as something, and while he believed it would be unlikely to be there again, it did not hurt to get some information about locations.

Lynn was glad to see that Elyx appreciated her help, nodding enthusiastically as she said, “You’re welcome! Even though there is no real need to thank me because we’re on the job together, we’re supposed to do things together,” laughing. He agreed to keep walking, so they were now walking towards nowhere in particular. The atmosphere felt safe now, like there were no more enemies incoming for a few more miles. Because Zlatan could feel activity in the earth and for the time being he did not receive anything. Lynn relaxed a little now, lacing her hands behind her back as she walked. Since nothing much was going on, she decided to talk, but Elyx was faster with that. He talking about the things that he saw in the time they split up. The way he said it was super hilarious, Lynn almost burst out laughing, but she was able to control the laughter to a shorter, quieter one. Clearing her throat, she chuckled a bit before telling him what it was all about.

“It was probably a strip club,” she said with a wink. “You saw a lot of women rubbing their bodies against the metal poles right?” She laughed again, wondering what Elyx face looked like at the moment that he saw those women doing their thing. “You’re old enough to know these things, don’t worry,” she added. Now they were walking side by side because it was weird to talk to someone who was walking behind you. It felt like she was talking to the air, or to herself. So now Lynn was in the middle, Elyx on her left, and Zlatan on her right. She reached out to comb Zlatan’s pure white mane, that felt like the smoothest thing in the world. Even though she never took care of it for him, and he did not take care of it much himself, the mane remained ever soft and smooth magically. Lynn could never find the time to take care of Zlatan. She barely had time to take care of herself, especially these days. Slender hands fell back to her sides as she continued walking. Now it was just awkward silence between them unless Elyx thought of something to say. She clearly was out of ideas on how to start a conversation so she shut her mouth tightly. So this was one of the times she really wished some enemies popped up. Never in her life had she thought that she would want enemies to show up but guess what, now was it. Now was the time she wanted some enemies to just pop up in their faces to get rid of the awkwardness that was happening right now.

Enlighten me then, because I am curious. It was true that Elyx was not too bright when it came to businesses that involved lust. In fact, he was barely able to grasp the concept itself. It was not because of his sexuality, he was most certainly a heterosexual. But it was just due to the fact that the effect of the medicine that Nimpha gave to him was still there in him. Just a bit in his body. From the other parts of his body, the medicine had weakened since it was drained with the blood. But the tiny trace still in him was able to prevent him from having lustful feelings. At least, ones without any true purpose. And so whenever he saw a scene such as that, he was more confused than excited. It was weird, he had grown up and in public, looked like a child due to that alone. The same reason why he does not normally go to bars and clubs. Placing his hands into his pockets, he would look around and decide what to do from that point. Think I should pull back my Phoenix Bird? I don't think we need to exhaust it too much, and I can think of better ways to use it than by simply riding on its back. He would explain, looking up at the sky now. It seemed rather clear, nothing that would strike any form of intimidation into him. At least, not yet. There were a few mages of darkness approaching, something about their aura was not too good. They were very unfamliar, and if they were anything like he thinks they would be, he was going to have to get off his mount. Lynn, careful where you walk, I am beginning to sense something. The Wizard Saint would explain, his feet brushing against the ground as he would then look towards towards the street once again. Nope, nothing there yet. Was it his imagination? The magic traces seemingly disappeared. But that could be answered, since concealing magic could be a thing. And if that were the case, they just made themselves more obvious. That means that they did not want to know that they were there. An ambush was approaching. Lynn... Stop. Not a single step further. They are watching us. Get ready to attack. And with that said, he would look at the top of the buildings. I see... There was an idea of where they could have been. What did they have that could catch them was the question. There was only one way to find out. Attack from above servant! A sudden command, his right palm face out towards the building as it would fly. Surely enough, there was retaliation.
