Sticking around the city in which she had recently committed a dual assassination was probably not the best idea, but since the Rune Knights weren't looking for anyone, and the news media made it out to be as if the pair of undesirable political candidates had suffered a stroke on the same day. Convinient, no? Why, then, had the snow mage decided to stay in the city of Era for a prolonged amount of time? In truth, it was one of the few places she could tolerate being in for extended periods of time. Although it was a hotbed for political antics and speeches, the culture of academia in the city was strong as well. For the past several days, after being mailed payment for her previous job, she had been staying in a hotel and spending most of her time in Era's library, and today was no different. Sitting outside the library, it was clear that she was enthralled in the book she had open. Having been a scientist and an explorer at various points in her life--occasionally at the same time--one of her favorite subjects were the cultural aspects of magic and how people from around the world utilized it: the book she had open was titled The Role of Human Culture in Magic. Despite her normally conservative manner of dress, Grace was clothed casually today. Wearing a black tank top and a pair of jeans, the only accessory she had worn today was a pair of blue crystal earrings. Her pale, snow white skin contrasted sharply with the raven-colored hair on her head, her icy blue eyes adding to her appearance of an "Ice Queen" of sorts. For a while, she sat on the bench with one leg crossed over the other, not bothering to look up at the world around her as she absorbed the information on the pages in front of her...and then she heard someone clear their throat. Closing the book, she looked up to see a rather dwarfish man dressed in a manner that could only be described as tacky. With a tie-dye shirt, khaki cargo shorts, long white socks with a pair of sandals, and clearly overweight, her first thought was that he was homeless or unemployed. "Good afternoon miss, um...I have a little bit of a problem." Quirking an eyebrow, she crossed her arms and let the book sit in her lap. "I'm listening," she said icily. Whatever it was, he better have had a good reason to be bothering her. "Uh, yes..." he started, "Just around the block, I'm..uh...I'm trying to direct a shot for a short film. Unfortunately, none of my actors know how to act..." "What is the scene?" Grace asked. "A..uh...a date scene," he said, "I..I just need someone to show them how it's done. A couple quick clips for reference, and that's all." Sighing, the woman sat back in the bench for a moment. Part of her wondered how actors with zero experience could even get a role, or why he was asking someone off the street to help them clean up their act, but thinking about something as idiotic as the situation presented made her brain hurt. She got up--the difference in their heights quite comical--and asked, "I presume someone else is in this reference scene as well." "Uh...yes," he said, twidling his fingers together, "I'll...go and find someone else right now..." |

Usually people didn't awaken six foot ten inch tall homeless men who wore all black, while also sleeping at the entrance of an alleyway. But apparently, this man was an idiot, probably thinking 'Oh look, a pretty looking young man that is totally intimidating, I should wake him up', it was rather upsetting to the young adult that there was some people that were that stupid. Waking up to a nudge of the shoulder, which had to be done a few times do to him being a person that was rather hard to wake up. Convenient for the man, he was already sort of half awake. Upon fully wakening, he shot a glare that could make people run in terror, at the tourist looking man, he asked in a gravelly and very unimpressed tone of voice "What do you want?" shaking slightly now, Lucius didn't blame him for being scared, wasn't surprised at all. This was probably worse then he normally would've been, due to the still sort of half awake dark mage had his black aura slipping out of him. Though the guy couldn't feel it, he was still very much affected by it. Though some how the overweight man managed to form some sort of sentence "C-c-c-could yo-you possibly-y hh-help out with a ro-romantic-ic scene, f-f-for my sh-sh-short film-m" though hard to understand what he was saying due to the constant stuttering, and rather unbearable to continue listening to this idiot speak without punching him to a pulp.
After some consideration and thought, the assassin released a sigh from his lungs, letting out an inhuman growl with the word 'fine' hidden in it. He pushed himself to his feet, the man's eyes widening to a larger size, and he started shaking more if that was possible, the young man wouldn't even be surprised if he wet his pants then and there. Why was he so scared? Well it appeared as if this man just realized how scary he was, slightly muscular and standing taller then mostly everybody else that he meets. "Let's go and get this over with" he grumbled to the man, still debating whether or not to kill this man and go back to sleep. This said guy didn't appear to hear his grumbling statement, and was still standing in shock, thinking that he was going to die, which might not be to far off now. Rolling his eyes, he stomped his foot right in front of the man, getting all close up and personal, a terrifying gleam in his blue green gaze "I said, Let's go" the last word being more of a growl then anything. Stumbling away from him, he lead him back to the other mage that he had got to do this job, constantly looking back all anxious like.
Walking behind him, he finally stopped by a young woman who was sat upon a bench, though he was expecting another idiot, he got this. A woman with longer black hair with an icy blue gaze filled with knowledge. So she was just another person that just got dragged into this whole ordeal, thankfully, they were in the same boat. Continuing to study the woman while not being obvious about it, he also got the feeling she was doing the same to him also. Though who know what she would end up getting from him, he often hid his true emotions and intentions behind an unbreakable wall, but it was rather unpredictable now considering he has just awoken.

As the dwarfish man left to go find someone else to bring into the scene, the snow mage sat back down on the bench and opened her book back up to where she left off as she waited. As interesting as the topic was--she truly wanted just to continue reading on it--about ten minutes later the gaudishly dressed man was back with another person, presumably the person she would have to act with. Looking up from her reading, she glanced him over for a moment: standing at about a foot taller than Grace (she was already quite tall, for a woman), with green hair and a bean-pole like figure, as well as a currently unpleasant demeanor, he looked something like a "Not-so-Jolly Green Giant". As amused by the thought as she was, it didn't show on her face except for a small smirk. Closing her reading selection, she got up and tucked it under her arm. She looked over at the shorter man and asked, "Are you going to show us to the set, or not?" "Oh, y-yes..." he said, "Right this way." Grace followed the man's lead--presumably the other person in the group in tow--and was soon enough led to see a variety of film equipment set up to record around the outside of a café. It was a bit of a cliché, in her opinion, but considering the fact that everyone running the equipment seemed to be a starving college student or uneducated, it was probably a low budget film. "Lovely..." she muttered. |

Letting out an exaggerated sigh, he followed the dwarfish man with the young woman walking by his side. Turning his head forward instead of looking down at any of the two, stretching up his arms to get himself fully back to proper posture and fully awakened. Not dropping his hands fully back to his side, but instead grabbing his hair and running his fingers through it, getting out any knots from his hair that tangled itself while he slept. After getting out the majority the tangles, he started to quickly braid it, nothing special just a normal one to get his hair out of the way. When he was done, which went rather quickly, you would probably think it would take him longer due to how long his hair is. But he was rather experienced in this art of hair tying, so it took him no longer then a couple of minutes. Tying a hairband at the end of the braid, he the flicked it behind him so it gently planted itself, resting on his back. Now that his hair was neatly tied and out of the way, he stuffed his large hands into his pockets.
Stopping to see the set, were they would be acting as a reference for the actors. Rather funny how that worked out, and rather annoying for the young adult that he had to participate in these shenanigans. Standing next to the girl, seeing the same situation as she did. How did he let himself get dragged into this, then he heard the young woman mutter to herself in a rather sarcastic way. Just barely hearing what he said, he let out a slight huff then said, also at the same volume "Tell me about it" saying in reply to her as he shifted his feet to change to a more comfortable standing position. Finding that the previous one wasn't suitable.

The snow mage let a small, dry laugh escape at the green-haired man's comment. Given that the disdain for the situation they were dragged into was mutual, it might prove to be a slightly better experience than she was expecting. With a sigh, the woman asked the director, "So, what exactly do you want us to do?" "Y-you see that table over there?" he said, pointing towards the one with cameras set up around it, "I..I need you two to go ahead and sit down at it--act like y'all are on a date." "Mhm...." she muttered. The possibilities of what could possibly go on during the "date" ran through the woman's head...most of them unpleasant. That being said, she had agreed to do it, and it would only take a little while before they were done and out of the way. She turned to her fellow conscript and back to the table before shrugging and walking towards the set. It was a simple set up: a neat white table cloth, silverware folded up in a napkin, and a small candle in the middle of the arrangement. A bit cliché, in her opinion, but it was forgiveable; she had actually eaten at the café they were filming at before, and almost all of the tables were as picturesque as the one being used for the film. The food was also quite enjoyable, but she wasn't hungry, and she doubted the other mage was either. Taking a seat, she set her book on the table and rested her arms on top of it. Waiting for both her "date" and the director's cue, Grace was extremely curious to see if the other mage would lose his temper at any point--it was quite obvious that his demeanor was far more aggressive than her own--but kept her thoughts hidden behind that pale, snow-colored face of hers. |

The young assassin stayed quiet as he watched the events roll out before him, following the snow mage to the picnic table. Sitting on the opposite side of the young woman, he leaned his elbow on the table and leaned his chin in his hand. Nobody gave him a cue or anything of the sort, so why would he have proper table manners. Letting out a sigh he looked from the woman before him back to the director, who signaled with a couple of gestures to start doing, whatever people on dates do. Rolling his eyes he let out yet another sigh and he dropped his hands off the table "Time to get this started I suppose" he said before changing his irritated face into a rather calm happy one. His smile was convincing, not much people could read through it, though besides this mage...maybe. Though he was unsure of what to say, it wasn't often that the young adult was on dates. Usually girls just tried to pick him up at a bar, not literally, to try and sleep with him, so the whole 'date' part was usually skipped.
Gazing at the table before him his sharp and calculating blue green eyes, he examined the food, all of it looked delicious. Well besides the sweets, which for this whole acting thing, he guessed he would have eat some. He had to prevent himself from gagging, he never understood why people liked all that confectionery sweetness. His sister was one of these strange people, she had a sweet tooth for sure, could never say no to sweets. Deciding to get his mind off of that, figuring he would deal with that when he got there. He just smiled at the young woman and asked a simple question, he was curious, she was good-looking or what was considered that in normal society. Lucius wasn't really attracted to anybody, and if at all, usually it was to his own sex. "Ever been on a date before?" he asked as he gently grabbed some food and placed it upon his plate.

The mage kept an observant eye on her partner's movements and expressions. Part of her was curious about his state of mind and what went on inside of his head; the other part of it was a small concern for her own safety. There was something...off, about this particular individual, and she couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly. However, with the cameras starting to roll, she hid those slight feelings of mistrust well under a charming smile and a pretty face. She unwrapped her silverware and placed the cloth napkin in her lap, looking at the food that had been placed on the table in front of them: salad. While the creamy, peppered dressing on it wasn't her particular favorite--she preferred something with a Mediterranean flavor--for the purposes of the scene she decided to go along with it and tentatively nibble on the leafy vegetables. Wiping her face, she heard the man's question. "Well...not exactly," she said, "There was a time or two in college that I went out with a couple friends, but for the most part I kept to myself and my books." Although most didn't know it, Grace actually had a doctorate in magical arts, and one or two associates degrees in related sciences. That being said, she hardly ever had an opportunity to use her magic beyond small applications, so most of her more powerful abilities had withered away...she made a mental note to practice more. After taking a sip of water, she asked, "And what about you?" |

The young assassin could feel her calculating eyes, she suspected him, of what she didn't know. Though Lucius knew of course, it was common for the young adult to unsettle perceptive people such as herself. They could only ever peer slightly past the mask of which he almost always wore, only enough to see that there was something unsettling within him. What that was, they either never found out, or never got to tell. Though there might be a couple of exceptions, but we won't get into that right now. Following the young woman's example, he unfolded the silverware from the napkin, that placed the cloth upon his lap. Though he wanted to just grab the entire plate of meat and scarf that all down, he calmly and politely grabbed different foods from all the food groups, well at least the ones that were spread across the picnic table before him. Even the sweets, of which he so despised. Placing it all on his plate in a neat way, he started to eat, listening to the words of the ice witch as he did so. Good he was actually hungry to eat, cause otherwise this would be absolute torture, having to do things for people, be around people and eat sweets. Though he was almost always hungry, with the usual exceptions of course.
After she finished speaking, asking him the same question afterwards. Fighting the urge to lean his elbow on the table, because apparently that is bad manners for some reason. He finished the food in his mouth and was about to fabricate a story when he realized he had actually been on a date before, not that he enjoyed it at all. And he only did it to be trusted by that person, this person having a large crush on him already, it wasn't to hard getting on their good side. Releasing he sigh he said simply to the black haired woman, twirling the silver fork between his fingers "Once, not to long ago. He asked me out on a date after we finished a job together, I agreed, though mostly just to humor him of course. I have no interest in that sort of thing." he said honestly with a slight smile upon his pale lips, though the innocent facade didn't fit right on his complexion, it never did.
