Run in with a stranger

Rei had chosen the wrong place to try and steal food from a small resturaunt... 

well, she wasn't exactly stealing it, she would sit at one of the outside tables with her hood on. the place was more of fast food, so there were no waiters. she always tried desperately to hide her appearance... even if she offered to trade something in exchange for something to eat, she would still get turned down because of how much she looked like a monster. Missing limbs, missing senses, and many other countless body scars from battles she never won. If her stomach wasn't screaming at her... she wouldn't eat. she hated it, but the pain her shriveling stomach sent through her body was just trying to keep her alive, though she didn't want to live..

she had been caught at the resturaunt and chased away. she forgot about how strict the laws were enforced in lavinitir port city, and might just pay the price for it soon. she was holding a half eaten loaf of bread she had taken from someones plate, but the person was done eating about 10 minutes before and it hadn't been cleaned up so she took it. though it still made the owners angry... she could hear a couple of men chasing after her as she ran out of the resturaunt and down the sidewalk following a line of other small shops. her lack in depth perception was affecting her ability to run away efficiently, as she ran into a man who had been minding his own buissness. she toppled to the ground along with him, rolling onto the stump she had left of her arm. pain shot through her as she held it with her left and only hand, sitting up to curl into a ball wincing. everything always seemed to hurt more... she felt so fragile. she looked back to see the man on the ground too, making eye contact.

He looked around briefly before putting his back down wrapping his lips around the straw of his empty cup. People were staring at him HARD. It was probably because of his hair and creepy looking eyes. Though some of the looks let him know otherwise. Some of the crowd knew who he was and what he was. He was the one to hold the title of the most feared being in religion. He was the devil, or at least that was what his titled suggested. He hadn't gained full control of his magic yet and had been absent from the world for a while. He could hear yelling far up ahead that didn't sound like a crowd of happy go getters, but he blew it off as he continued to focus his sights on the cup in his hand.

He probably should've looked up to see what all of the commotion was about, but he didn't. He headed foot steps ahead of him then a stumble. He cried out in shock as a person appeared where his cup was as their head slammed into his chest. The momentum behind the collision tossed Zextsui off of his feet and he went tumbling to the ground. He slowly sat up as he rubbed his shoulder which drove itself into the pavement. He looked over to see a girl getting up, he assumed it was her that fell into him. The crowd gasped and began to murmur and point at her. He looked and saw she was missing an arm and in fact was covered in bruises.

He took in the situation for only seconds before deciding on leaving the area with the girl. Whatever she had gotten herself into the attention she was now getting probably wouldn't help especially the kind that she was getting. He stood up and put his hand out to help the girl up. "Um...are you...okay?" He slowly asked as he leaned in closer to help her up.

Rei was shocked that the person she didn't run into wasn't intending to cause her harm, she expected him to hold her to the ground until the authorities caught up with them. but he didn't, he even went as far to offer her a hand. Rei hesitantly look it, since she knew it would be hard to get up off the ground by herself. she saw the authorities coming around the corner... 

"you! stop right there!"

Rei's eyes widened as she started walking backwards, "uhm... sorry i.. ran into you uhm.. thank you.." she politely said to the man, before making another run for it down the sidewalk.

As the girl got up Zextsui heard the sounds or more footsteps behind him. A man called for the girl to stop as someone quickly followed behind him. The girl thanked zextsui awkwardly before hitting a sprint down the sidewalk. Zextsui turned around and without a second thought sent his Satan stare directly at the two. They stopped in fear and just looked at him as he began to move after the girl. "Don't follow." Was all he said before running after the girl. The fear those two felt would linger for a some time and zextsui figured he could use this time to get the girl out of the eye of harm.

After catching up to her and following behind a few blocks he called to her. "Hey....wait!!!" He said as he paused to take a breath. The girl was still well out of arms reach, but he hoped his voice would carry far enough for her to hear. If not he'd take up the running again.

Rei heard the same familar voice form earlier call out for her to stop, she was running down an alleyway when she turned to her left to try and see him, but due to her missing right eye misjudged the distance of a metal trash can and tripped over it, falling on the other side and the moldy contents of the garbage spilling about. she rolled over a couple times, before sitting up moaning and rubbing her head.

He was quickly gaining ground, but when he was close enough to reach her he tripped on his own foot slamming into the ground. As be slid across he could hear the girl gaining more distance from him. He sat up rubbing his chin feeling Csonka though he had lost her. He only wanted to ask her why she was being chased. Zextsui slowly got up, brushing himself off, when he heard something crash to the ground. He turned down an ally to see the girl on the floor once again. He quickly jogged towards her and reached out his hand once again. "Are you okay?" He would ask as he waited for her to get up.

Rei gritted her teeth as she heard the man run over behind her. she saw him teach out his hand, and ask if she was okay, she gritted her teeth, refusing his help. she was tired of being looked at as helpless. "Im fine..." she said, awkardly using her one limb to lift herself off the ground and tuck her feet under her. she tumbled a little as she tried to stand but gained her footing. leading against the brick wall with her arm wrapped around her torso. she didn't look at him, but she thanked him. "thanks for... saving me back there.." she said awkwardly.

"It's no problem." Zextsui said with an awkward laugh. She refused to get help from him up which wasn't all too surprising to him. As much as he was trying to be sincere it made sense that she would see it in a disdainful manner. "Why were they after you though?" Zextsui would ask next. Something about this girl made him feel as if he could understand her and she him. Maybe it was her obvious scars and the looks she received from those around her earlier. Though his scars weren't physical, the title that he was expected to uphold carried with it the fear of countless people and a wish of death from the same. Nobody truly saw him as a person once they learned the origin of his magic. He was a monster a monster of monsters.

A glint if pain slid through his eyes briefly as he thought about it, but he quickly shook it off and focused on his goal in front of him. Helping this girl in some way.
