    2012 of 8400 words.

Ever since she had come back from that trip spanning three countries? Jiyu’s mind had been playing cruel and brutal tricks on her, the wind mages consciousness and sanity nearly ripped apart by her own brain. She was left waking up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and panting, a delicious but so wrong sensation running through her body, until it faded and she returned to normal, but remained unable to sleep. Lying awake on night’s like that, she would than start to consider how wrong she was and what a twisted fucked up, oh so selfish individual she was! Once the female was ripped apart by her own lustful fantasizing about a certain man, she than brutalized her own decision made concerning a woman who was one of the best friend’s she ever had. The vicious cycle? Was so merciless she cried several times during it, and felt physical agony over the mental stimuli, locked within her room in the silver moon, biting into her pillow to prevent herself from screaming. The one thing she could not do? Was scream out and thus suggest she had an issue to begin with, since her guild was filled with several demons, who would hear her shirek just as she would hear theirs if they shouted out. In Black Rose, for reasons stretching beyond her pride, she could not scream out her frustrations, if she screamed when she was not in danger, it would be breaking the trust given, crying wolf, because the only thing wrong with her, was herself. If someone she could turn back time and remove her demon blood, prevent herself from activating it on that fateful day? Kazehime would do it in a single moment, with no second thought! Right now, she despised herself, hated being a demon so much she would likely not put up much of a fight if someone tried to exorcise or slay her; If she got lucky, she would be reborn human! Every single mortal thought they were too weak, but they had it easy compared to non-humans and they didn’t even know it, Jiyu cursed them.

“I’m never getting back to sleep tonight.” she whispered it out, hand idly stroking the kitsune sleeping beside her as she bit her lip. Carefully? She disentangled herself from the super fluffy blanket she was wrapped within, and swung her feet over the bed. Considering she had not been sleeping for very long, she had her clothing on still, the only thing that needed fixed was that she had undone her shorts in her sleep, somehow. Often times? The sorceress woke with her clothing thrown about the room, but now was not the time for thinking about that, she needed to get out of the room before she woke Makoto, the fox kitten was young and needed it’s slumber, so she could not risking her up. However she chose to slip her dress, secure her cape and even grab her weapons before leaving; Encase she chose to take a mission to distract herself.

Once she had gotten outside of the building? She started walking towards the exterior of Rose Garden, aiming to cut into the forest and make sure nothing else could be disturbed by her late night strife. Arriving in the forest, with moist eyes, the female screamed out in frustration, the sound disturbing several nearby creatures and causing them to dart, because it sounded like a dog howling and a person screaming combined, disturbing, at least to Jiyu. “The fuck am I doing!” she plopped against a stone and sighed out, holding her face in her hands. If none of this bullshit had happened? She would be happily telling Leila about the fact they were the same rank now, sharing the fact she had been made the Ace Of Hearts within Black Rose, laughing about it, drinking juice while Leila likely enjoyed something stronger. Instead? She had spent the last few months ignoring the other girl and it tore her apart inside! Leila had likely made attempts to contact her, maybe sent letters or something asking for aid in missions, or just checking in. However the witch had told the mail carries quite clearly upon arriving home from their inadvertently shared trip, to send back anything sent from Leila! It was brutal and maybe even a little rude, but it was the only thing that the wind user could think to do. In her mind? She was protecting both of them, Jiyu could see no way for the Eden Mage to accept her as she now existed, and she couldn’t ask the other girl to accept her. Sure they had shared a deep emotional moment back in Joya, but well, it was all the more reason that Jiyu would not ever expect Leila to accept what had become of her. What the Eden mage needed? Was someone who was normal, someone who could help her efficiently, someone who knew what they were doing and was a calm individual. Kazehime was none of that, she was reckless, out of control, self centered and unable to get a grip on herself now that she was a demon. When someone was falling? They didn’t need someone else who was falling to catch them, they needed someone on the ground to catch them, Leila was falling and so was Jiyu, it just wouldn’t do. “It was fun while it lasted though.” she mumbled it wistfully, giggling slightly as she hugged her own knees.

Once she finished mopping around  in the forest for the night? Jiyu stood and started walking back along the path, until she saw a familiar figure “Shit.” one word left her mouth, as she stared at the back of a girl she knew very well. Apparently her attempts to keep Leila away? Had the opposite effect! No, nope, the Eden Mage was just going to Rose Garden for something, it was a popular place. “Eep, Damn what is that?!” however before anything else could happen, a portal of dimly shining light opened up beside the wind user, and she stumbled backwards, towards the very person she’d spent weeks trying to avoid. In terms of having things go wrong for her? This night mostly took the cake, and the woman wondered if she was not dreaming, biting her own lip as she looked up slightly, letting out an awkward laugh. “That looks dangerous, we should go into it to make sure nothing comes out to hurt people!” it was the quickest distraction she could think of, so Leila would not question her lack of communication, or why she was outside the city this late! If they were exploring and fighting something that needed taken care of anyways? There was no way she had to answer any questions right away. With that she took the other girl's hand and attempted to drag both of them through the portal. With or without Leila? That portal was her way out of trouble, so the wind mage was going through no matter what!

The inside of the world beyond the portal? Was filled with clouds and it felt so holy that the wind witch started to feel queasy, everything was so bright it almost felt as if it was burning her. In the first few seconds, the half demoness knew this was a place something like herself should have never touched, and part of her considered asking for god, to be purged of her demonic energies, however she doubted that was even possible, she was born like this, just dormant. Even if she hated her demon heritage? It was still part of her, and one of the few things she had left of her mother. She got lost in thought and the small pricks she felt due to being a demoness in heaven. “Demonic Intruder’s!” it was shouted by one of the winged beings flying around, angels the woman guessed, and she bit her lip. They could tell she was demon?! The female closed her eyes “To The Colosseum With You, To Prove What Happens To Demons That Try To Invade Heaven!” oh crap they totally knew what she was, even with her features hidden, and they were going to fucking execute her?! Jiyu was trembling, her body shaking as the landscape around her changed.

Jiyu almost believed herself back in the forest, but she quickly looked around and noticed the aura was still heaven. Instead of being home? She was in a wilderness themed Colosseum, heck she did not doubt this place to have caves and stuff! Tree’s rose up almost everywhere, a forest surrounding her and giving off a pure light, a pure stream flowing beside her, and she guessed stepping in the water would likely be bad for her, it was probably holy and would likely burn her. “Damn, this place-” she cut off her words when she remembered trying to drag Leila into this world with her, eyes widening. Had the eden mage been mistaken for a demon as well due to standing close to a demonic aura? The wind user whirled around, praying she would not see her friend there. How could she have known heaven was on the other side of that portal?! Kazehime had been so frightened that Leila would see her for the dark demon she was, and reject her, that she had rashly rushed into something she knew nothing about. Normally? She would have done this thing a bit differently, she would have gotten reinforcements before going in! Foolish, she’d be utterly foolish and now it was probably going to get her killed! However her own death was not what frightened Jiyu now. Instead? She was frightened that the innocent and non-demon girl who had followed her, because they were friends, would end up dead! She would be the cause of someone else’s death, first her mother died protecting her and now Leila would die the same way, she couldn’t let it happen.

Deep breath, she had no promise the Golden Pheonix member even followed her! So Jiyu started looking around, seeing if she could spot the other female. Right now? There was no need for panic if she could not confirm the presence of her friend! “Leila?” she called out the name softly, in a near whisper, praying beyond all hope she would hear no reply, because she hoped by some minor miracle her loyal friend had not actually come with her, or that she had been the only one poofed into this arena! Biting her lip the wind mage glanced around, not seeing anything. However? This also meant she did not notice the first wave of monster’s starting, aiming to sneak up behind her and finish her demonic existence off. Considering the forest looked inconspicuous? She never even considered the need to be alert for enemies, the only thing on the demoness mind was finding her friend, of making sure the girl was not here! Once she had done that task, she would become concerned about her own life. Normally she was so self centered, but right now the image of her house in flames, her mother’s corpse already sealed inside, it played over and over in her head, the evil dancing eyes of the man who’d done it! Thinking of this sparked her will to live back into a fully stoked fire. If she died here? No one would kill the man who had murdered her mother, they had not even believed foul play was involved in the elder womans death, it was up to her to do that, avenge her mother. Kazehime would not end up having to avenge someone else, if Leila was here, she would find her and get the eden mage out alive!

Sadly Jiyu was just not in the right mind frame, she was too distracted and concerned, hand fisted in front of her chest. It would not be long until some form of shovel or sword slashed its way through the forest with clear aim towards the witch's head or heart.

Post by Noheme 4th September 2016, 5:10 am

Life was just fine after Leila's travels across three different nations. She received her reward and all those moments were still pretty fresh in her mind, even after quite a bit of time had passed. There was but one thing that was worrying her. That thing being Jiyu Kazehime, girl that Leila considered to be her best friend. Since she didn't have all that many friends to begin with, it was pretty easy pick. But this wind user was clearly trying to avoid her by any means. And by any means she meant refusing to receive any messages from her. Normally she would just write this off as some minor trouble... but this time it was going for way too long. There was something wrong with this situation and she had no idea what. Though she knew that it was clearly related to Jiyu's unusual behaviour during their last travel together. Even then she noticed that there was something not right with her friend, but at that time, she decided to do nothing. Was that wrong? Did she make yet another mistake that would cost her dearly, just like with her father. Truly, it seemed that no matter how hard she tried, she always doomed those around her. Almost like a curse that was following her around, trying to break her apart for no real reason. Or at least she didn't know the reason... perhaps there wasn't even one. And quite possibly, there wasn't even curse. It was all her own fault, birthed by her own reckless thinking, her laziness and fear of conflict. Even after getting this strong, was she still nothing more than a little scared girl inside? Just a big dreamer that was actually terrified of the world in front of her, of the knowledge that i wasn't all just happiness and sunshine.

But even despite that, she wanted to make things right again. Maybe there was still some time to act, to fix what was broken by her own stupidity. At least she was member of a guild that had vast web of information. Even if it was mostly just related to treasures, one would learn a lot more when trying to dig up info about one specific thing. It didn't take long at all after she visited their archives and spoke to few other members. The fact that Black Rose was allied to them helped as well, making Jiyu rather easily to track down. Records of people seeing her in places at certain times and such, it was all available to the Eden's mage. It was actually quite scary, knowing just how much Golden Phoenix held in that underwater fortress of theirs. But this time, it was very helpful. Even if Leila's letters and other messages were not getting to the girl, she still lived where she lived before. She was still there, doing what she was always doing. That made it quite clear for Leila. All she had to do was go and visit her friend in her own house, talk it out and force her way into whatever mess that young girl was in. It sounded good and just like something she would do! Butt into someone else's business was almost like her speciality now. But you couldn't possibly blame her with all that has been happening. And to make things a little bit smoother, she even baked some cookies for Jiyu! Surely she would be more approachable with something like this, right? All girls loved cookies after all, no exceptions! None at all! Nope! And another thing that would melt her heart, the adorable loli named Yuki. A.K.A, Leila's companion.

Dragon the poor dragon girl out of her hotel room, the two of them set out for Rose Garden. Leila filled with energy and enthusiasm while Yuki looked unbelievably bored and irritated that she was so suddenly separated from her favorite book. And this time, she was actually verbally protesting. "Leila... why are we going somewhere in the middle of the night?" Those words stopped the silver haired woman in her tracks completely, placing quite few sweat drops onto her forehead. In all that thinking, she didn't even realize that it was this late already. "Not to mention that you're bringing things that you yourself like. You cannot base other people's tastes on your own..." Turning towards Yuki, Leila now had pretty irritated look as she placed her left index finger in front of her lips. "Shhh! We're surprising her with a sudden sleep-over, got it?" Knowing that resistance would be futile, Yuki simply sighed and nodded, letting Leila drag her along, eventually entering the woods that were nearby their destination. After a while, even someone like Leila got tired of dragging her loli along and let her walk on her own, which Yuki both did appreciate and didn't. And in the end, there was quite a big distance between the two, as their walking speed differed, with the dragon girl's being slower. Odd sounds similar to dog howls echoed in the dark woods as the two of them finally got back onto the road and outside of the nature's territory. Of course, that was hardly the worst that they went through.

A strange beam of light was illuminating a certain spot on the road, looking rather suspicious. Trying to analyze what it was with her magic sensing, Leila noticed two things. First one being that this light was certainly magical and probably served as some sort of transporting device, similar to the gate of Golden Phoenix she was using to actually get into the guild's hall... and second one being that Jiyu was right behind her. That magical imprint was pretty unique and known to her at this point after all. Turning quickly towards the girl that she was searching for, she was almost speechless. Without even any words of greetings, that dark haired friend of hers grabbed Leila's hand with few words and started dragging her into the light of afterlife. Yuki who watched it from distance knew that wherever it led was probably dangerous and quickly followed. And after few seconds of an intense light, she found herself into a dream-like world, surrounded with pure prettiness. Leila and Jiyu were few meters in front of her when she noticed another being flying high above them. And with the words she uttered, all three of them were scattered. Going through more teleportation, it was clear that combat was incoming, which had activated Yuki's wings of ice. Seeing her owner flying through the air as well, she quickly flew towards her and forced her body into a thick tree where they got stuck on a branch. "Y..yuki~  What was that? Oww..." Trying to recover, both of the girls stood up and looked around. "You would have crashed into the ground without my help... also, you're heavy." The little girl stated, her look rather unamused.

This situation evolved rather quickly... one moment they found who they were looking for, the other one they were somewhere else completely. "Uh... judging by this divine aura and that flying chick from before, we're probably in the heaven, a dimension where holy beings reside. That said... Yuki, did they mistake you for a demon because of your look?" It certainly was possible. After all, the girl was a mixture of human female, dragon and a snow fox. Certainly something unique that angels could mistake for plenty of things. "Anyway, for now we have to find Jiyu again." Looking around, it didn't take much time before they spotted her moving around, seemingly confused. And around her, hiding behind trees and bushes, another angel. He had a sword and was trying to be pretty sneaking. And as Leila's friend stopped, the bugger flew into the air with intend to skewer her with that toothpick of his. Jumping from the tree, Leila give the unsuspecting warrior a good boot to the face that send him flying back quite a bit with herself face planting right next to Jiyu. Yuki landed next to her as well, letting her feel the chill of her frozen aura. "Y..yo! Long time no see. I brought cookies!" As cheery as she could possibly be, Leila produced the bag of cookies with chocolate chips and tried to hand to towards the other girl, her body still laying on the ground as she fell from the tree nearby. "That one seems stubborn. Let's take care of him before more appear." Yuki on the other hand was fully focused on the enemy at hand, ready to take him down. Just how much was the wind user surprised by all this?

The surprise sleepover that Leila had intended to have with her best friend? Was clearly quickly ruined by that very woman! Honestly she had not meant to ruin the night, Jiyu would have told Leila to go away anyways if the Eden Mage had made it all the way to her room’s door; In a way this was better, it forced them together again, and that was the only way Jiyu would stand with her friend right now! Kazehime was too stubborn for her own good often times, and this was just amplified by her fear of the girl she was searching for rejecting her once she discovered the elfin ears and fluffy canine tail hidden beneath the hood and dress. It was funny, even though she believed the Golden Pheonix would hold nothing expect ill will towards her, once the truth came out? Right now, with the thought of Leila being in danger, she didn’t care anymore, if revealing herself meant protecting the other girl, she would do it in a heartbeat. Part of the woman was now considering confessing to the angels that she was the demonic presence they were sensing, turning herself in peacefully if they promised to let Leila and Yuki go freely without harm. Holy being’s had to have a heavy sense of honor right? They would likely even respect a demon to that extent, or maybe not, demons were their sworn enemies after all, but it was really the only thought she had going that seemed plausible for getting Leila and the dragon out without harm if the two had indeed come in with her. “But it’s rather dim-witted.” why would angels respect an honorable wish from any demon, even one that was half human? It went against the basic rules of nature, their only job was to exterminate evil existences like her’s, make sure she could harm no one any longer. Actually, as her most recent job with Magna flashed in the back of her head, someone ensuring she couldn’t hurt people anymore, it sounded like a blessing! The last mission she went on with the Ace Of Diamonds, resulted in her trying to eat him, and the only saving grace was the fact her body happened to be too weak to actually allow her to break his flesh before he could bring her out of it. Crap! What if she did something like that to Leila during this whole ordeal?! Maybe she shouldn’t be looking for her friend, but rather trying to hide from both her and the holy warriors undoubtedly coming to kill the demon they had sensed. No matter how tempting just giving up and turning herself over was, she had to get out, because she had things left to do and she had to get Leila out if she was here, nothing was going to stop her from escaping! Of course her own brain was over active and beating her heavily, both flashbacks and fears of the future assaulting her and distracting her, when she needed her focus the most she could not find it.

Her head turned slightly as she heard a branch break in the forest, and Jiyu’s eyes widened as her aura flared, a sword sitting inches from her chest, her aura flaring as she was now clearly in combat. “Prepare to die you d-” he suddenly choked on his words, and flew backwards impacting a tree and coughing, trying to regain his breath as her aura assaulted him and caused the angel to shake slightly. What had just happened? Jiyu had thought she was over for sure, but at the last second she had been saved by someone kicking her assailant into one of the nearby tree’s. Oh god please, no! The half demon glanced around and easily caught sight of Leila, face down on the ground right next to her, was the woman hurt?! The wind witch aimed to crouch down and check on the silver haired girl, but she popped up like a jack in the box, with cookies to boot. Cookies? Damn Jiyu did have a sweet tooth, but she couldn’t accept those, if she did that than Leila would expect to see her after this, and even if she got them both out alive, Jiyu didn’t intend currently on seeing her after this! In fact once they got out of here? She had to do something mean after this was all over, so that Leila would hate her and never be put in danger by their friendship again! Jiyu could never let something like this happen again, Leila was in so much danger, just because she cared, it wasn’t right. “Yuki is right, he won’t be disoriented for long, please stay behind her, this will just take me a moment.” she sounded noble or something as she pushed the other girl back towards her back, turning around promptly. Jiyu stepped towards the man who had tried to skewer her and he could see the expression of his demise in her eyes, scooting back until he was pressed against the tree and she was looming over him. “Die.” it was strange for Jiyu to straight out want to kill someone like this, but he was a threat to something she held precious to her heart! The woman slashed her hand forward, sending a wind blade right at him, however it did a little less than she thought it may, and thus she chose to make a risky decision, putting her hands behind her back over her hidden tail, activating its takeover and causing her demon blood to surge. Once she had the extra power necessary? Jiyu lifted her hand once more and pointed a single finger at the man in front of her, a small tornado like ball impacting him and finishing him off. Kazehime blinked to try to purge the dark expression from her eyes, before she turned to face Leila once more, gripping her cloak as the man's sword had cut it’s tie, if she did not hold it, the item would likely come off and Leila would see her ears.

She had to do something about her friends presence, she could not fight to her full potential with the risk of being exposed as a demon to Leila. Yuki’s main concern was the Eden Mage, right? The half demoness looked at the hybrid and wondered if the unique girl already knew what she was. “You should try to get Leila out of here, Yuki, more of them are coming.” she could feel the holy aura’s getting closer and smell their purifying scent, and she was clearly looking a bit queasy as she spoke. Flaring her aura to fight that last man? Had only served to prove her demon status further to this realm, and it was intent on hurting her. “Leila just go with Yuki, get out of here and don’t come after me.” she stumbled a few steps, biting her lower lip, both the purifying energy of this place and her own hesitance holding her back, before she managed to dart forward swiftly, escaping from the other girl, and praying she would just listen for once.

After running away again, something she swore never to do anymore, the wind mage collapsed in one of the caves around, laying on the ground panting. While the holy energy around her did not deal actual damage right now? It was draining her, weakening her and making it hard to breath. For now, she had to lay there, in the cave, hopefully hidden and simply hide from the enemies she felt roaming around.

It appeared that Jiyu wasn't as impressed with Leila's entry as she herself was. What a shame... and she even refused the cookies?! That meant the situation really was serious. After all, cookies were one of the best things in the world, and these ones were home made by Leila! They had to solve this situation fast so she could shove them in the wind magie's throat, force her to taste this deliciousness. For now though, she just crawled back onto her own two feet, only to be pushed behind Jiyu who probably wanted to attack. After all, she remembered this girl's destructive magic... it was not a good idea to stand in her way. Yuki on the other hand looked a bit worried, as her name got mentioned. She hated it when someone took her words and quoted them while doing something, making her look like a bad person or something. In fact, she just kinda disliked when people talk to her normally... what an anti-social dragon she was. And perhaps even bigger surprise was what Jiyu shouted when she went to attack that little angelic soldier. "Whoa, she sure got way more serious in the past few months, huh?" Nudging the little girl next to her who was covered in ice as she spoke, Leila simply watched as her friend finished that nuisance off. The spells she used were pretty small, yet effective. But that also brought up the question as to why did Jiyu want Leila to stand back. Normally she would do that only when attacking with something that had effect on greater area, but what she did was really just to attack that one guy. Apparently she was still acting weird. Well, it was to be expected... after all, she refused to communicate at all.

Shouting some more and Yuki who got really nervous now, she soon started running too, only adding to the problems as it was right now. "W..why me... there is no way I can lift anyone into the air... I don't even know how to leave this place..." Her little voice was a bit shaky, but a little pat on the silken white hair from Leila calmed the girl down. "Don't worry about it. We came here to confront Jiyu after all. There's no need to listen to her right now. But you feel it, right? That Seraph from before said that this was Colosseum. And the second wave is now incoming. Yuki! You know what to do... hit and run, track down that damn damsel in distress and then find me!" Nodding to her owner, Yuki immediately jumped into the air, her wings fully active and keeping her suspended in the air. It didn't take too long before two more winged beings appeared from behind the trees. One of them was very similar to the earlier one while the other had nothing more than a shovel. Not exactly something they should worry about too much. "Feel the heavenly judgement, you filthy demo- w..wait!" Not even letting him finish, Yuki flew between the two of them at full speed, giving them taste of the chilling aura for some early damage and then flew off in search of Jiyu. Not it was all on Leila, to take care of these guys. No biggie, they were already freezing and in pathetic state. Heavens clearly lacked in actually powerful forced lately, it seemed. Perhaps that was the case of appearing hell gates in the Earthland? She had to find that one mage again and tell him.

But for now, she had to take care of these two. Their wings were really cold and they clearly now had trouble with using them, unable to fly away from the scene. The warrior managed to get few centimeters from the ground, but that was it, not any higher than that. Smirking, Leila extended her hands forward and called upon one of Eden's weapons. "Ah, the great bow of moonlight, I call upon thee... aid me in my task!" It was odd how her incantation was different every single time she used the spell, but it worked so it was fine. The silver bow appeared in her hands, shining brilliantly along with the great arrows Leila conjured out of pure magical energy. And suddenly, there was a shovel in front of her face. Thankfully her reaction time was pretty fast, just as her body, and she managed to roll under it. There was a third angel that apparently got stuck somewhere. But now he was here, equipped with the shovel as well and ready to smack someone with it. "Ugh, you're all annoying, I'll just end you!" Tuning around 360 degrees, she fired three shot, all of them hitting their mark. Every single one of the angels were now marked and their defenses taken care of. "My own power as well... the rewriter's gear!" Imagining a pedal and stepping on it with full force, activating the hidden force withing her. With that, her damage was through the roof, as she indeed intended to end this quickly. On the other hand, the angels decided that it would be best if they attacked all at once, not giving Leila much of a fighting chance.

And so they did, jumping into the air and trying to slash her into pieces with their shovels and sword, all at once. That actually played into her cards, however. Crouching down and punching the ground, a circle of wooden spikes rose from the ground all around her, hitting the angels hard and knocking them away. The weaker ones were finished off right away, their bodies disappearing in a holy light. But the warrior managed to stand back up, some life still inside of him. Not for too long, of course, as the ground under him shaked for a moment before a giant rotating column made out of three roots shot out. It drilled directly into his stomach and sent him flying into the air, even without wings. And as he fell to the ground, he too disappeared completely. That was that fight done, and there was still a while before Leila's bow would be gone as well, so it would help her with fights that were surely incoming. Suspending it on her back, she started tracking down Yuki's magic and running in it's direction. After a while, she found a lovely looking cave, the young dragoness sitting in font of it. "So... she in there?" The girl nodded and yawned. It was clear that she wanted to remain outside, and it was better that way too. At least they had someone that would look out for the incoming enemies. Entering the dry cave, she soon found her friend, lying on the ground almost lifelessly. That was until she threw those cookies at her again, making them land on Jiyu's body. "Jiyu~~ we're far from done here. There's still plenty more to go. And don't you think you can get away from me without providing answers!" It was a friendly advice that clearly said that Leila was willing to go into a great lengths to get Jiyu to confess what is up.

If the conditions had been different from what they currently where? Jiyu would have been beyond impressed with Leila sweeping in like some warrior princess, to save her best friend and preserve justice in the world, or something like that! However right now, conditions were anything but right for her to allow such a trivial thing to make an impression on her mind and things quickly were heading further to hell, which was funny because they were in heaven. Kazehime did not even let herself think of the warm sensation brought from a mortal trying to save a demon from an angel, which was what had just happened. The only thing she could think about? Was the fact that Leila was here, needing to fight against these holy warriors, strictly because she existed, if she had never existed, Leila would not be here right now, fighting for her life. Jiyu wanted to help the Eden Mage so badly, but she knew well enough that her presence near the other girl would only draw more holy warriors to her, even now the half demoness could feel them gravitating towards her demonic aura, their only objective being to eliminate the demon or demon’s who had tried to invade heaven! Part of her? Wanted to believe if she explained ending up here was an accident, they would believe her and let everyone go, but she knew that angels would never trust the word of a demoness; Even if it was the truth. All the girl had desired was to prevent her friend from asking her about the reasons behind the distance between them, the cause of her new behaviors, and she kind of got what she wanted, but in a way she would have never desired it. While they fought here, in heaven? A true and lengthy discussion about her rude, unexpectable, unfriendly behavior, was impossible. However Leila was also in danger at the same time as she was distracted, and she had never wanted that, she had just wanted the other girl to forget about her, move on and find someone who was better suited to friendship than a half demoness like herself was. Had it been so wrong that she wanted someone superior in morality to herself for Leila to call her best friend? A entity that actually knew what they were doing both with other people and themselves? There was no way she was wrong when she’d been seeking the best, maybe she’d went around and about it in the wrong method, but her desire was pure, haha, purity within a demon that was hilarious, but in it was true, she had not been maliciously in her actions towards leila! Even if everything seemed angry and rageful or such? It had all been done out of love, due to how much she cared. With Marschal? It was different, he was half demon too, the only thing standing between them had been the logic between cat's and dog’s, but he was a panther so it didn’t apply in the end. With Leila? It was a full fledged gap in species, how could that be overcome. Jiyu was doing what was best for Leila.

However she really wished that someone was there, her body prone as she tried to catch her breath, claws digging into the dirt beneath her. Fighting through the purity of this place? Was difficult for anything demonic, and she was no exception, even with half of her blood being human. Lying there she thought about her friends comment she’d gotten more series in the past few months. To a degree, that was true, but a good deal of what the Eden Mage had just witnessed was due to her amplified temper, her overwhelming desire to kill the being who had attacked her and someone her inner dog already deemed an extended part of her pack. They had noticed her darkness, but had mistaken it for something else. How could she possibly ever correct Leila about that after this? If they ever even me again! Jiyu wanted to snarl and howl, but that would just draw attention, while she figured out some way to counter the energy slowing her down without truly showing her face as a demon, attention was the last thing she needed! Especially the attentions of one little silver haired mage. However the wind witch was unlucky today, her mind was too focused inwards towards her current problem, she had too simply assumed Yuki and Leila listened to her for once in their lives. Thus, the female did not feel the dragon circling over head, nor the approach of her friend. When she would finally notice the two of them nearby and attempt to stand, put more distance between herself and Leila? It would already be too late, even if she had not collapsed onto the floor of the cave once more, dizzy from trying to stand, she would have never been able to run fast enough in this state, she was incapable of putting that much distance between them now. "Jiyu~~ we're far from done here. There's still plenty more to go. And don't you think you can get away from me without providing answers!" The voice shattered through her consciousness and added to the vigor she pushed herself up with, something impacting her shoulder, making her eyes focus in on them. Before? She had not even really noticed the cookies, but now her nose flared at the scent of them. Leila did not know when to give in for her own good.  How could she make the girl give up on her without ruining their memories? She was at her wits end, nothing else was left to her, this needed to happen, there was no other way to….. She closed her eyes tightly, before struggling to stand. After this? Everything would be different and Jiyu knew she was going to hate it! One more glance at the sweetly prepared but tossed about and abused cookies convinced her, this was the right thing, no matter how it would hurt.

The only way to get Leila to abandon her and make it out of here entirely unhurt like Jiyu desired? Only one thing was at her disposal to try and make that happen! Giving the other girl exactly what she wanted. Kazehime stood slowly, not caring where their enemies were anymore, if they saw this it was all the better, they would know that the innocent girl had never been aligned with the invading demon. Considering what she was about to do, she didn’t not even bother holding her torn cape closed, it would be shed soon enough. “Answers.” her voice echoed darkly in the cave, eyes gleaming low in the pale light as her hand slowly rose, so slowly that her claws were clearly visible on them, fully grown now. “Let's start with the fact I would have rather torn that man apart and devoured him.” her fang’s showed clearly as she spoke, no attempt to hide them being made. With the claws she made sure were visible at last? She slashed down the front of her dress, ruining the poor fabric, her hand rising to sweep it off her body as one leg twitched to force her forward. Almost as if she had teleported the female was in front of leila, hands planted against the wall of the cave, as if an attempt to pin Leila against it, without actually touching the other mage. “Than you can take a good look at me.” she snarled it, not even attempting to hide how her transformation had changed her vocalization anymore. When the other girl looked? She’d find the wounds that should have still been healing even now, had completely vanished, save for some insignificant discoloration around Jiyu’s wrists and lower legs. A low dancing dark laugh emitted from the witch's mouth as she moved to grab Leila’s chin. “Just leave me be Leila, it’s not you their after.” she dropped her own moves, stalking deeper into the cave slightly, she didn’t want to see Leila’s face, she had told the girl when they met that she was human, she had lied. Even if she had not known it? Jiyu had lied, because she had been a dormant half demon since birth, the only change now was the activation of her blood. “This is your answer, I’m not human, I’m half dog demon.” she accented the word demon, but there was also something Jiyu often forgot about her status. Even though she knew her father was human? Since she was so disjointed from him, Jiyu often forgot half of her blood was indeed human, that she was not all demon.  Either way, the other girl had her answer, and the enemies were quickly closing in again.

Leila simply stood there, watching her friend’s actions. They were pretty forced, that much was quite obvious even for someone as little observant as Leila. But in fact, she almost didn’t understand what was actually going on. Well, that was until Jiyu finally fully revealed her new features. Changed ears and addition of a fluffy tail! This situation was hardly something to laugh at, but Leila simply couldn’t take it 100% seriously anymore either. Her eyes were sparkling with interest and many questions were swirling around in her head… but they all had to wait a little bit. So for now, she tried to keep her composure, still standing firmly and forcing a serious expression on her face. It sure was a weird mixture, seeing those excited eyes with stoic face like that. But that was how it was, no way around it. Leila was that type of character who loved to joke around and test everything as soon as possible. If she didn’t know that Jiyu was breaking down, she would jump at her right now, feeling that fluffy tail and playing with it until they would get bored or satisfied.

Though she didn’t quite like how Jiyu tried to play tough and pin her to the wall… that chin grab was something that a sadistic guy would do to a little innocent girl he was trying to get into the bed with him. When her friend was the one doing it, well… it made it even harder to keep that serious facade on. Not to mention that when their faces were close like this, it would probably be fairly easy to see how Leila truly felt. Thankfully it seemed that the little doggy was too distracted by her own thoughts and acting to actually notice anything, which was very good. Because if she noticed right now, things would probably go south very swiftly, which would not help much. It took a while, but the girl finally confessed to being half demon and half human. Was this really the problem? Leila had quite the trouble deciphering what was actually going on… because if Jiyu was avoiding her for this reason alone… not, surely not. After all, Yuki, who was waiting outside, was also a hybrid! And one of three different things non the less. Dragon, fox and human. She was even bigger amalgamation than Jiyu, and yet, Leila was having her as her ‚pet‘. Surely her friend realized this? After all, she was right outside the cave, they met! Even before today, the two girls already knew one another, and Jiyu surely knew what Yuki was.

In fact, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that Leila was attracted to these things. After all, she wasn’t exactly human herself. Though in her case, it was still unknown what race she actually belonged too, that information was still hiding and waiting to be found by her. It was something for another time, however. Leila sighed and scratched her head, nearly knocking her own top hat off with the motion.

“Alright, you’re a half-demoness… and? C’mon, stop making this long and dramatic, just spew out the reason why are you avoiding me! That’s what I wanna know~“

With her childish pose and speech, Leila really wanted to know the full reason already. But it would probably have to still wait a little bit… as a magical frost started reaching her legs, slowly creeping along the ground of this cave. It was her adorable pet’s signal. The angels found them, and it was time to kick some butt again!

“Aaah, just wait here or something. I’ll be right back!“ Throwing those words at Jiyu, the girl quickly jumped out of the cave and looked at the flying people in front of the entrance. “Alright people… you interrupted something very important! So prepare to face the consequences!“

Angels were unamused by her threatening words and prepared for attack, this time not even bothering to talk back to her. They sure were arrogant… and it would cost them dearly. It was time to bring out the big guns, after all! With Yuki standing next to her, the two of them were indeed completely combat ready! And in a moment’s notice, Leila produced a shining, golden key out of her pocket, aiming it at her enemies. It would be the first time she actually used this in real combat outside of training… well, everything had to be done for the first time at some point, right? And she would help greatly here, especially against so many opponents. With a confident smirk on her face, Leila started chanting and channeling her magic into the key, making it shine brilliantly like a star in the distance. And then, a magical circle appeared, forming a gate between world and a bridge that would allow creatures from the other side to cross over! “Golden gate of Heavenly Scales! I open thee, Libra!“

With those words, a figure formed on the battlefield. A woman with ebony skill and dark hair, her exotic outfit swaying in the wind just like the two golden scales she was holding with chains by her fingers. “Libra, make them collide, please! I need them all in one place!“

Nodding quickly, the women called Libra moved her hands in a specific motion and used her powers. And with that, she easily turned the guardian angel into a new source of gravity, pulling all other enemies towards him. In no time at all, they were all forming one big ball of angelic energy and white feathers, making their situation rather comedic for those who were looking. Taking her bow, Leila quickly took all the shots she could, hitting the guardian along with the two warriors. She deemed it not necessary to hit the two shovel wielding angels, not to mention she had only so many arrows conjured right now. Well, as long as they were together and marked, all her preparations were going great! Gesturing to Yuki, the little girl took action as well. Flying to the helpless cluster in the sky, she would start efficiently kicking all of them while also applying her frosty aura. Soon, they all took damage from it and their bodies were covered in ice, making them even more vulnerable. In the end, Leila liked to end things without wasting to many attacks. And for that to happen, she had to increase her own damage as much as possible. And right now, it was at it’s peak! Using the altered gravity from Libra, she jumped to the flying ball herself, punching the guardian into his face and placing another mark. Jumping back down, she simply snapped her fingers and the mark exploded into rotating branches, making it rather bad for the angelic ball of whatever. That managed to finish the weak ones instantly. But it still wasn’t enough!

Growing a plant with a big and bright blue fruit was her next move. Grabbing the pretty ball, she knew fully well just how destructive it was. Not even looking, she simply threw it behind her, showing the angels her back as the fruit fell on them and exploded with great force. That finished the warriors as well. All that was left was the guardian. The gravity-altering spell slowly stopped working and the pile of unconscious bodies fell to the ground. And soon, everyone except the guardian disappeared in a holy light, making the battlefield less of a mess. Preparing to finish off the last man standing, Leila was rather surprised when he laid down his weapon and shield. “N..no more… I yield. You are too strong for someone like me…“ With those words, his body disappeared in light as well. Apparently her attacks along with the impact from other bodies and Yuki’s aura was enough to get him to a point where he knew that another punch into the face would be fatal. And only now did Leila notice something was a bit different about her body.

“Oh… boy… no, wait! This is perfect! Jiyu~~“
Shouting pretty loudly, Leila used her adjusted gravity to literally fly into the cave and crash into her friend, knocking her down onto the ground. Now she was on the top, ha! “Here… you’re not really alone.“

Turning a little bit, she revealed a silver tail coming from her backside, probably reminding her of a fox. And on her head, a pair of ears that were the same color, wedging the top hat in between them. While attacking earlier, her little bell must have activated it. So, now there were three girls with animal features. Truly, a little piece of paradise. Yuki and Libra stayed outside for now, knowing that these two wanted a little bit of privacy for now.

Even if it was not for her attempt to act tough and make things better for her friend? Jiyu’s movements would have been forced, because the heavenly aura around them was weighing on her demonic one. As it already stood? She was being shown to be incompatible with this world, and it was getting worse every second she stayed, if forced to remain too long it was highly possible the purification energy would actually start to damage the half demoness. At the moment she had no idea how long this would last, and no idea if Leila would join the attacking holy warriors once she found out the truth. Everything was spinning out of her control and for someone who had survived on her own for so long, that was a very bad thing. Everything was confusing, and she was the one standing here who was suppose to know what was going on! Damn it, how must Leila feel if she was this lost and knew more of what was going on, but she could not back down from her stance now. Even if Leila was confused beyond compare? She had to make the other girl see the truth of what she had become, realize she was a demoness and the reason they were in this mess to begin with. She couldn’t let her friend get hurt because she was a foolish woman, someone who hopped too much to preserve her own memories and let things fade away slowly, because she was too frightened to face most problems head on! Heck, her first major problem in life, her mother’s death and no one believing the woman had been murder, Jiyu solved that by running away. For someone who solved almost every emotional strife by running away and dealing with it on her own? Being backed into a corner like she currently was, ripped into her heart and tore it to tiny shreds, ingrained the fear wriggling within her, allowing that seed to grow into a massive tree threatening to kill her with it’s growth.

If Jiyu had ever been thinking clearly, she would recall her friends thing for the cute and adorable, have used her tail to pacify any potential ill feelings Leila could have upon finding out her closest friend was not who she claimed to be when they met. However? The wind user had all of it sprung on her, and when she had to solve how she would deal with it in concerns to her friend, Jiyu had not yet dealt with it herself. Now, she had dealt with much of it, even started accepting herself to a degree, even if it was a small one. In terms of gain? She had acquired more after becoming half demon than she had ever dreamed to possess as a human. Even if Jiyu had moments she could regain the time she had believed herself to be fully human, she wouldn’t actually trade being half demon for anything, it was one of the few solid connections to her mother she had. Leila had to move carefully, Jiyu was still very prone right now and vulnerable, past the deathly expression on her face, were the wounds that had never healed, everyone had them, but sometimes they surfaced years after they had been inflicted. The wound on her heart from her mother’s death? Went further than just the woman herself, no one had believed her, no one had been there for her, and no one had been by her for a long time afterwards. The very first time she had not really felt alone? Was when she met Marschal, joined Black Rose, but it had been solidified when he held her to his chest and purred, saved her life. Now the Eden mage was in a position that could near a new scar over that dripping wound, or help place another stitch into it, and Jiyu did not really even know what was going on to that extent.

“Alright, you’re a half-demoness… and? C’mon, stop making this long and dramatic, just spew out the reason why are you avoiding me! That’s what I wanna know~“  she was throwing a fit, Leila was acting just like a child. Listening to her friend? The elfin ears on either side of her head twitched, and she bit her lip. Even when she laid it all out in the best way she could think of, the other girl did not realize what was going on, could not see the truth past her own affections. Was it bad that the wind witch actually liked that? Jiyu got swept up in her own thoughts again, thinking back to when she had taken in Leila’s scent on Seven, the way her canine instincts had surged than, how unique and exotic that had been. Normally? She only got the pleasure of her body surging in energy from consuming blood, not something like smelling someone, she wonder who else could elicit that sort of surge if she shoved her nose in their neck! However she had not done it yet, as the action was one of the last good memories she had with Leila, it seemed wrong to do such a thing with someone else, when it was a precious memory. She closed her eyes, listening to the fight, and then looking to the cookies, bending down to pick one from the bag as Leila fought, bringing it to her lips and biting. Even if she was basically a wild dog these days? Jiyu still enjoyed a healthy dose of sweets, chewing the cookie and laughing slightly. How could she be standing here letting Leila protect her, when she was the one wanted to protect her? That was shameful, the Ace Of Hearts being protected by someone from an allied guild, what would Izayuki say to her about that! She couldn’t keep doing this, her mind had to make itself up and her heart had to stop playing with her, this had to go straight.

“Here… you’re not really alone.“ People had told her that before, but being told it directly did something weird, and she looked away from the other girl who was pinning her down, trying to hide the expression it caused. Jiyu couldn’t think straight, she was a domineering dog in most ways, and being pinned down was making her brain act up between whimpering and attacking her friend to establish dominance once more. “You know it’s different when it doesn’t go away right?” she sneered it off to the side, digging her claws into the dirt, and biting her bottom lip until it brought blood, so she would not lash at Leila, even though she knew from trying to eat magna that even in blood lust driven rage her body was fairly incapable of harming another healthy humanoid. “I’m sure you’ve noticed.” she was winded, panting and yet she’d done nothing, arms raising to wrap around Leila’s torso and pull herself up somewhat, face dug into her friends bosom to an extent. “I’ve gotten weaker. It’s because this place is trying to purify me, just being here is slowly killing me because my body, my soul, is that of a demon, it’s never meant to dwell in heaven.” than she remembered what happened the last time she consumed blood, what happened when she took the blood of another in, that could very well be her saving grace, in two ways! Jiyu needed proof more than words that Leila did not hold any different emotions now that she knew the truth, and the half demoness also needed another way to fight off the aura suffocating her. “If you're really not afraid of me, angry or anything like that, give me some of your blood.” talk about a creepy and weird request! The female did not even realize it for a little while, until she thought over what she had just asked Leila for. “The blood will cause my own to surge for a while, it happens every time I consume blood,  I should be able to fight off heaven’s aura enough to actually fight them efficiently if I take in someone else's blood.” she could take in her own blood, but it was just not as effective, it lasted less time and the sensation was less intense! Oh well, now it was all up to Leila, the dog put something out there her friend could do as proof, something to settle this now. She was asking for help, after pushing Leila away, she was giving the girl a new entrance, something to do in order to bring them back together, and all the other girl had to do was cut herself.

Leila laughed. Her voice was gentle and innocent, keeping it's unique feeling even in this situation, with all that was happening. "I suppose it is a bit different when the tail and ears don't actually go away... but..."

For the next few moments, Leila started searching through her coat, her fingers quickly emptying all of the pockets that were on the outfit. And soon, she would pull out that bell of hers. Rosen glöckchen, as it was named. It was made out of gold and it's shine was almost otherworldly, indicating that this was no ordinary trinket.

"This is Rosen glöckchen, my golden regalia. I suppose that word has it's own meaning in this world... but for me, regalia is something like a reflection you would see in the mirror. It's a little piece of my soul, an item that is more important to me than anything. I don't even know how... but somehow, my soul was partially shattered at some point. Perhaps before I was even born. And I just found this piece recently in the world of eternal gardens, the dimension most people call 'Gardens of Eden'. It's a dimension that gives me power, it's my magic. And it's part of me. Even if the tail and ears eventually go away, the fact that they come from this regalia... it means that they were originally part of my body, permanent part. You see, I'm not exactly something that you could call human, either... I don't rightly know what I am, but it is not what you think. You or I for that matter."

Sighing gently after that long explanation, she hit the bell again, keeping it safe. If something was to happen to it, the consequences could be rather devastating for her. And yet, she trusted Jiyu enough to actually show the item to her. She was filling to put a small piece of her own soul into her hands and feel safe, not having to worry about it. About being betrayed or the item getting damage because it wasn't protected enough. She truly had put faith into the doggy demon, not questioning her existence. Some people were human, other machias, and some dog demons. It didn't matter at all to her... as long as they were all sentient and capable of understanding, everything was just peachy. There would be no need to worry about anything at all.

Moving one of her hands to Jiyu's mouth, she tried to carefully wipe the blood that had come out of her lip, smile adoring her own expression, her blue eyes as deep as the ocean itself staring gently at her little frame. There was not a single hint of hate or disgust anywhere. True, Leila was rather good at pretending, even capable of partially changing her own personality to get by. But this form of hers, it was genuine. And no one could possibly doubt that. But it was apparent that Jiyu wanted to be absolutely, one hundred percent sure of this. Hence her little request. It actually made Leila chuckle a little, forcing one of her hands in front of her mouth to partially hide that childish smile of hers. Her fox ears twitched and her tail wiggled a little as she placed one of her hands under the collar of her clothes.

"You ate one of my cookies, and now you want some blood as a dessert. Sheesh, your tastes will be hard to satisfy in the future... and I had no idea that dog demons were basically fluffy vampires, exchanging sparkling for fur."

Joking a little, she moved away from the girl's body by herself, undoing the tie of her attire and few of the buttons that were underneath it, making her blouse rather loose. And soon, she would have her neck and right shoulder completely exposed, completely bare for Jiyu to see and do with as she pleases. If Yuki or Libra were to enter the cave right now, they would probably be very much weirded out by this scene where Leila was removing her clothes partially for another girl.

"W..well? Don't stare so much... it's my first time, it can't be helped! Just do it already... but be careful around the corrupted skin, it's harder and saturated with ethernano..."

Teasing the little doggy demon with her suggestive and innocent words, she was internally laughing maniacally like some stereotypical villain in a game. While they were doing this, they might have at least some fun with it, right? It wasn't exactly everyday situation where she would be offering her body and blood to someone else for the sole purpose of increasing their power and recharging their child against holy powers or whatever. In all honesty, the aura of this place was slowly starting to weigh down on her as well. After all, she was mostly commanding the corrupted part of Eden's gardens. In it's core, that power was demonic as well. In the end, these two girls had more in common than they even knew or acknowledged. But they still had a long future ahead of them, plenty of time to get to know each other even more than now. But for the present moment, they probably had to hurry, as their lookout Yuki spotted another wave of enemies slowly closing in. There was still some time left for the two of them, but not much. And Yuki with Libra alone probably weren't strong enough to stop that small army.

“My mother was a demon, thought I didn’t know it until I found myself a half demon.” she guessed her fear did seem illogical in this light, but it had been valid for her, frightening and almost life ending. “When I was born, my demon blood was dormant, rendering me basically human, no proof of me being half demon besides if someone could prove my mother was a demon.” she swallowed hard, glancing up at Leila, she hadn’t really told much about this,  but it was basically nothing more than she told Iza, but it was still frightening. “Someone tried to prove she was a demon, and she died so they couldn’t, so they wouldn’t come after me next.” of course she’d always known her mother was murdered, but realizing she died protecting her precious daughter, that was something new and you could see that in her eyes, the pain shining in them as she chewed on her own lip again, but since Leila had wiped the blood before? No more was brought, just a soreness that brought in her focus and centered her. Something had to give within everything, and that moment was coming, she could feel it, ebbing through her.

The female had changed since her demon blood activated, the Jiyu who Leila had met first, she was still there, it was clear to see that demon blood becoming active could not erase over a decade of life so swiftly. However her demon instincts did a very good job of drowning out the person she had been before transforming, sometimes. Somehow the other girl saw threw those changes enough to trust that this half demoness version of her friend, was not actually any danger to her, enough so to bare herself, expose vulnerable flesh to someone with razor sharp claws and fangs. The exposure? Was enough to rouse her instincts, a bared neck barely feet from her mouth, made it water and her pupils dilate. Kazehime should have specified that it was best for for Leila to cut herself however, because the dog demoness was very weak in body in spite of her demonic power, her body had been unable to be aided. Recently? She had tried to bite Magna and had been unable to break his flesh even with her fang’s and claws alike working. Was there a difference between a girl and boy, between one’s hand and their neck? Jiyu had not studied to kill people or anything like that, she did not know tons about bodies or even genders! However she could feel the thickness of the holy aura’s drawing closer to them, she did not have time to ask leila to cut herself and explain why it was needed, if she was going to join the fight it truly would be now or never.

When Leila spoke up? The little control Jiyu had possessed over her instincts, shattered into thousands of tiny pieces.

Jiyu moved swiftly, almost teleporting once more, placing one hand on Leila’s shoulder and grabbing her hair with the other, aiming to tug her head back slightly, eyes shining with the light of a predator. Most of this? Would be blind luck, her demon instincts knowing where she could get the required blood, more than Jiyu herself knew where to get it. The drive of a demon to kill? Knew where flesh was thinnest, the most likely place she could make an initial break in it to access the blood flowing beneath. One fang pricked at the skin right behind and under the ear, causing a small drop or two beginning to flow. Such a small amount? Would never sustain her surged state, but it sparked it to life, and allowed her fangs to move lower, to the spot right between the shoulder and neck, biting into it, avoiding anything vital, but hitting a few decent sized veins so she could take in a decent amount of blood, barely able to get the spot past corrupted flesh, but somehow managing to bite down and bring the blood she needed. Several moment’s? Were spent with the wind user sucking hard to pull out and swallow the blood, likely hard enough on Leila’s neck that she’d might leave a hickey of sorts around the bite mark. Later she would have to set the girl straight on the vampire comment, but with blood coating her throat and filling her stomach slightly, she could feel herself start to return to a neutral mental position, except for her brains cry for more blood.

    “They're all going to die.”

Her giggle erupted as she released the other girl's neck, pushing her away slightly, bringing her hand up to wipe blood from around her mouth and lick it off her own appendage. Now that she had blood and could function past the area trying to exterminate her existence? The female covered her ears with her hands, bringing forward the fluffy ears of a dog, her hand moving to hold over her tail, causing that take over to activate. For the final touch? She held her hands together and clicked her heels, causing the tip of her finger’s and toes, up to the bends of her elbows and knees, to become a dog’s paws, claws included. “They’ve arrived, join me after you’ve rested sufficiently, if their still alive.” there was a slightly crazed look in her odd eyes, but she wasn’t completely gone, well physically she was, considering her speed was now doubled!

Jiyu took in their enemies, eyes coolly staring at the poop shoveler, the random sword wielders. “Is there any chance of you realizing I’m stronger and leaving?” the warriors lunged, and she jumped backwards, digging her claws into a nearby tree and scoffing. “Figured not.” but she had given them the chance, a chance that the weakest of them now realized they should have taken, because those holding shovels were backing up trembling. Even in heaven? Her demonic aura still worked very well at damaging people. “Gave you the chance.” she slashed her arm forward as she pushed off the tree she’d rooted herself into, letting wind slash cast upon them, with that done, the normal sword wielding warriors and the poop shoveling runts fell to the ground exploding in balls of light, the other warrior was putting on a brave face had more fight left, but the wind user was stronger by a long shot “Just leave or die!” to finish them off, she used a combination of her other weaker attacks like Wind Dance and hunter’s shot, smirking when they fell or retreated before she could kill them.

All those romantic novels about sparkling vampires she had read in the past were clearly not based on actual reality. Having your blood sucked out of your own veins was not pleasurable! In fact, it was was just about the same as being hit by your enemy during battle and starting to bleed. Not exactly something you would go for, unless you had some crazy fetishes that Leila didn't even want to know about. And well... right now, all she could really do was to stay still and wait for her friend to finish. Of course, that didn't mean she was incapable of defending the last sliver of her life if things went south, she was skilled in close ranged combat... but in the end, nothing like that was necessary. The doggy demon was good and didn't try to go for every last drop inside of her, leaving once she had just enough. Which was still a solid amount, leaving Leila in a little bit of a daze.

"They can't die... angels are mostly composed of holy energy, just like this world itself. Instead of dying, they temporarily change form and become one with the world. And once enough ethernano is recovered within their soul, their bodies will return to them like nothing ever happened."

She tried to explain to Jiyu before she left the cave, showcasing her surprisingly vast knowledge about places other than Fiore or even Earthland. But who knew if the girl was even listening... it appeared that she was in quite the hurry to rid them of the angelic forces, no matter the price. She sure matured quickly if she was worried about killing someone during their previous contracts, and right now she was willing to butcher them all. Indeed, thinking back to all those times they were together, it sure appeared that everything was simpler back then. With a sigh, she let her body hit the floor and yawned a little. "What a pain..."
Yuki and Libra were quite surprised too when they saw the wind user bolt out of the cave rather swiftly, not even paying any attention to them. And since they were allies as fat as they knew, they were ready to help the demon. Though, that was clearly unnecessary. Even against a group this large, she was more than capable of taking care of it on her own now. Extra magic in wizard's body clearly went a long way, that much was clear. And after it was all done, even Leila slowly walked out of that cave, the skin which was damaged by Jiyu's fangs now completely covered by gray substance which seemed similar to bark of a tree, just like on the rest of her body. Eden was already trying to fix what was damaged, it appeared. But what now?

Indeed the wind user had matured quickly, it could be looked at like that easily, however the closer truth was, well it was a sorrowful fact of most demons liked the smell of blood and she was no exception. If she was entirely in her right mind, calm and collected? Blood actually made her feel sick, but the second her emotions swayed, her mental state changed even a pinch, she wanted blood and nothing would stop her from making someone shed it. When she had first rushed out of the cave? She had not even noticed Yuki and Libra, forgotten they existed, really she only remembered Leila was in the cave, prone, and thus needed protection, part of her pack was in danger and needed her to protect them! Right now, leila was the only one outside of Black Rose that Jiyu was capable of getting so protective over, not that she would ever mention it, her high wearing off as they poofed away and left, she only cared that they were gone. “That makes it less fun.” she seemed to be making the comment to the fact they couldn’t actually die, but hey maybe being struck by a demon hurt them more than being struck by a human or such! "I seriously hope it hurt than.” she huffed it out, swishing her tail from side to side and yawning slightly, stretching her arms above her head, but it looked weird considering she had dog paws now, it felt weird to stand as well because soon enough the female was on all fours again. Considering this was Leila and she wasn’t holding anything against her right now? It couldn’t hurt to act slightly more like a dog, since she was afterall a canine.

“The one from earlier, she’s coming. Apparently they're tired of fucking with us, we should prepare so we can take her out swiftly when she reaches us.” As the wind user spoke? She made a circle with her paw, towards Leila, Yuki and Libra, casting Storm Howl to give them a boost in magic damage by 25% for the next five minutes or so. “I don’t want to mess with a real angel too much, if she truly realizes I’m a demon she likely won’t let me go even if we win.” after all the mission of angels was to get rid of demons! So this was serious business, the wind mage walking and starting to set the net required for Wind Game. While it was not such a powerful spell? Combining it with other moves could prove effective.

There was not a single angelic warrior in the sight, which meant that Jiyu truly did manage to defeat them all without any help at all. But at what cost? Well, Leila didn't know that, so it was probably pointless to be asking the question in her own head and not out loud. But she didn't want to stir any drama right now, scolding her partner that she was doing her things wrong or too recklessly. They just had to get out of this arena, then they could talk to one another freely. At least she hoped that would be the case, but who knew. Jiyu could freak out again and try to run... but since they were so close to one another now, and she knew that was actually going on, there was no doubt in her mind that she would be able to stop her friend if needed, even if she would have to use force. But that aside, the girl was nearing Leila and she was on all four. Resisting the urge to pet her, she instead karate chopped her right down the middle of her head. Not with enough force to actually hurt the poor doggy, but to make sure she would stop for a moment.

"Watch the language, young lady! The fact that you're not a rebelling demon or whatever doesn't give you right to swear randomly, okay? Sheesh, at least try to act cute innocent when you look like that...

Seeing as the two girls were having a lovely chat, Yuki and Leila's summon came closer as well, examining Jiyu's new form for now.

"She really is a dog, huh..."

    "Dog indeed."

    "Yup, she's our little puppy~"

Making a little chain of their thoughts, all of the three girls giggled slightly. But now wasn't the time for jokes like this... indeed, the one who welcomed them was on her way.

"Not good. Judging by her appearance, she might be an actual Seraph.. the highest ranked angel. They are mostly tasked with protection of God's throne, but it wouldn't be too out of hand to purge invaders if the need arises. You all better be prepared..."

Leila prepared was, prepared as ever. Though she never faced opponent this strong, there was simply no way around it. They had to defeat her and make her open the gate again, otherwise they would never be able to leave this place on their own. Or, well... maybe they would, given Leila's knowledge of celestial magic. But it would take way longer and would be way more painful than just fighting the damn angel. So there truly was no way around it!

Out of everything she had been expecting from Leila, getting karate chopped in the head was not among it, and that made the lithe female rather upset! Instantly once the ebbing pain started? She snarled, a clear growl rising through her throat and her claws tearing into the dirt so she could not lunge, fang’s bearing down on each other as she showed all her teeth at the action, backing up a single step. Some might read it as Leila screwing up and making the dog frightened of her, but the truth was Jiyu was scared she’d lunge if she didn’t move backwards and right when she was getting this girl to trust the new version of herself, the last thing she wanted to do was pounce and ruin that. “I’m a half demon, innocence isn’t really part of the deal for my kind, we’re more blood and destruction.” however she had seen some cute little demon’s, like Makoto her little kitsune! Innocent thought, even the infant fox pup she kept, had almost killed people before, went after them. Demon’s were ruled by passion and lust, sane and calm thinking did not happen to be friends to them most times they did not even know what that was. Anything demonic simply did what it wished, and did so happily, satisfied it’s own desires and each day Jiyu became more of a demon than she had been before, as the now active demon half of her blood took root.

She didn’t say anything for a few moment’s, after clarifying that demon’s did not do innocent, well they did but only when they were taking it’s innocence. Wait she did have some innocence, she was still a virgin, eh Leila was a little right, she was innocent in one way! Looking down and digging her own fangs into her lower lip. “Am I really that cute like this?” She had thought she appeared as intimidating or such, considering she was currently half humanoid and half canine in appearance. Most of the time? She only entered into this form when she needed it for battle. Jiyu did not like them calling her a dog, but well, she had never considered this form being cute to anyone. “I’m a full grown bitch thank you!” and it was accurate, since a female dog was called a bitch, and she was not a child, which would be a puppy. Now the few times her mother had called her Puppy? Made sense, she hadn’t thought about it back then or even recently, but now that she was called puppy again, it clicked.

“You can’t say I sweared, a bitch is a female dog!” she darted out of the way before any other form of karate chop could come down on her head, tail lashing back and forth as the scent of the angel got closer. “Oh I’m Prepared!” it almost sounded like a cat’s purr but it was still a dog’s pleased rumble. “Don’t let me die now, kay?~” she laid the last part of Wind Game, and then started up one of the tree’s, jumping and using her claws to hold while she prepared for the next jump. Climbing? Was for cat’s, she was not climbing, she was jumping.

The angel would not have time to know what hit her, since she wasn’t an all knowing being. When she started to circle the area the girls where? Jiyu leaped up, striking out her two forepaw’s swiftly, slashing across the angel’s chest and pushing them both a little higher from the force. “You!” the angel shouted and swung at Jiyu with her sword, but the wind user kicked one foot up and landed it in suriel’s stomach making the angel cough. The second swing of the sword hit the wind user, but she also got her last kick in, hissing in pain as she turned and slammed her wind covered tail against the angel, doing damage and sending them towards the ground, slashing her arm to make a wind blade fall at the shocked angel. “Tornado Ball.” it did the rest of the force needed and took the angel to the ground, where another small explosion happened, but it wasn’t from wind game, that happened right after as Jiyu was still falling, it was from one of her take overs. “Wind cloak.” she closed her hand in direction of the angle, causing the wind to encase the seraphs body and then Jiyu decided she was done as her aura had even done it’s damage. However Kazehime was clearly winded now, panting heavily as she crashed to the ground near the angel, face down, claws digging into the dirt. “You Demon, how dare you bring this much harm to me!” the angel looked like hell, it was clear to see that the little dog had taken a good deal out of her, but she took a decent amount too when she swiped at the wind user once more, hitting her across the back of one shoulder. Seemingly? Despite Jiyu’s strong magic, she appeared very weak to melee attacks, the swipes doing more than they should have. “Crap.” the canine hopped back onto a branch and angel turned to focus on the one who harmed her once more. “LEILA!” another span of those swipes and she’d be near her death, it looked like the angel was going to lunge and that couldn’t happen!

Leila just had  to sigh again. Apparently that little girl she met in the haunted village already some time back was now really growing up mentally and there was little she could do to stop it. That was just how life went these days, not really allowing her to enjoy anything as much as she wanted. A true shame that was. She had so much planned for the two of them before Jiyu started avoiding her, and right now, she would probably only laugh at those ideas and call them stupid or childish. Even taking advantage of a small word play, she simply wanted to get away with that way of talking. And, well... Leila wasn't stopping her. She was simply watching, observing the half transformed girl with her deep, blue eyes.

"You speak as if you knew all demons in this world... there is still so much you have to learn, so much you have to see. And then, perhaps you'll understand better. Words alone aren't enough most of the time, I'm afraid..."

Offering her a kind smile along with those words, she was sure that Jiyu would one day understand everything better. Not every demon was inheritably evil, not every angel was good and merciful. After all, she saw that with her own eyes. People were labeling a lot of things like this, but the truth was always somewhere else. Sure, they did base it all on something that was correct... but the real deal, the real world is just no that simple. People are... complex. And so are their reasons and views of this world. Every single living being had some evil in them, no matter how much of a saint they appeared to be. Something like that was simply natural. There was no way to erase this, as it was part of everyone's existence and their reason for being born in the first place.

"She's already gone... fighting." Yuki's hand on Leila's shoulder woke her up from that strange dream filled with thoughts. She didn't even realize that her partner was already trying to defeat the Seraph on her own. Something like that was nothing short of reckless for sure.

"Sorry... I'm getting distracted a lot lately. I wonder if everything's fine in the gardens if I'm like this..." She was worried about what was actually happening. But maybe it was just this whole situation making her uneasy.

Gulping out loud, Leila stood with her two companions side by side. And then, they started heading towards the battle! Jiyu already managed to land several solid hits, or at least it appeared to be like that. But it was not enough, not against opponent like this. The angelic beauty nearly made the poor girl into two with her sword. And she was getting ready to finish her off. To stop that, a snap of fingers was more than enough. It was signal for Yuki who was already flying in at high speed, ready to attack. And she did by trying to kick the divine being in her back. Clearly, that was not enough on it's own. The seraph quickly turned and crossed her swords in front of her, effectively blocking Yuki's feet and forcing her to fly back a little.

"I was wondering where the rest was... to think there is still so many left after that one injured me so...!" It was clear that the angel was upset. And right now, she was getting serious, too!

"I, the divine archangel Gabriella swear upon my purest wings... I will eradicate these intruders once and for all! They shall know the brilliance of our light, our hope! Cleansing theirs souls, I will rid them of their eternal sins!"

With those words, a divine aura started gathering around her, only adding to her already impressive appearance. Her wings were much bigger and whiter than those of the angels they fought moments ago, a symbol of her rank. And as her swords gleamed, she swung them forward, hitting nothing but air. However, an invisible force suddenly pushed against Leila, an attack Gabriella launched without even showing it. "Purge!"

The holy energy digged into Leila and started eroding her flesh. If not for the special effects of her magic that allowed her to withstand nearly any force, she would be probably flying through the air right about now. This one certainly wasn't a bad enemy, not at all. And seeing how Yuki was in the air, she had no reason to stay on the ground. If the enemy was flying, so would she! And that complicated things just a little bit... as she flew high into the skies and looked at those down below with her eyes that were currently filled with hate.

"D..damn... why do I have to fight someone so pretty? Would definitely prefer a centipede demon right about now..."

Talking to herself, Leila slowly started gathering magic inside of her body. She was about to unleash most of her spells in order to defeat this foe, and that required a great deal of energy. The thing was, her enemy was doing exactly the same. She was preparing attack that was much bigger than the one before, that was probably a problem. Or at least it would be one if she couldn't avoid it... thankfully she had some tricks up her sleeve, and she was about to use one, bring all watching into awe with it!

"Be purged from this world, demon! Compel!" Pointing the end of one of her swords towards the ground where the girls were standing, far enough from Jiyu's position, she started channeling most of her energy into a ball of light. It started off small... but it quickly grew several times it's size, ending up frankly giant and flying right at the target. "Now, push it back!"

Commanding to Libra who was standing some distance behind her master, Leila smirked. The gravity started be alter and the ball slowed down as quickly as it sped up when Gabriella launched it. And it was visible on her, she was impressed. Or probably just confused from what was happening to her mighty attack, that was more likely the truth of this situation. The golden key, one of the great Zodiacs. She managed to reverse gravity in the area of that attack, making it float up instead of down. And so did Leila, who was now basically flying behind the giant ball of light. Yuki flew to her as well, adjusting her trajectory so that she could get to her enemy without actually hitting that moving sun. Now the game would finally begin.

"Better not underestimate us, darling! I better show you what it means to be living outside of heaven where everyday is fight for survival!"

That shout provoked her enough to extend those pure wings and start flying right at Leila. Conjuring a giant sword out of wood in her hands, she would clash with the angel's two artifacts. And Yuki who was nearby added another kick into the mixing, allowing the tow of them to overpower the archangel, sending her into the ground. As she hit, an arrow would bury into her shoulder, leaving a pink-ish mark that indicated her lowered defenses. And coming down right after her, Leila managed to create quite the hole with her sword that broke on the impact. It broke, but it managed to hit it's target this time, finally doing some damage!

But those very swords that angel was using for blocking soon came for her, nearly decapitating the Eden's mage. She was forced to jump back and make some distance between them again. Thankfully she had some spells that would travel a little. Placing her hand on the ground, she would form several roots underneath the soil and let them move about, unearthing them only once they arrived beneath Gabriella. Their grip was crushing, restricting her movements instantly. And to make the restrictions even stronger, she summoned two trees that were bigger and thicker that the angel herself, letting them nearly crush her in-between their trunks without any warning. After all that, it was clear that their opponent was just about ready to drop down, admitting defeat. But she still had one more final card in her sleeve. Her whole body was glowing with white light, ethernano gathering inside of her body. Taking out another key, Leila started summoning another spirit. "Gate of mad lunatic! I open thee!"

Creating another pathway between worlds, she invited over that little boy who's skin was covered in shadows, only that big creepy smile showing. "Ooh~? What could the queen possibly want from me right now?"

"Show me the future, quickly! I have a really bad feeling about that archangel!"

Even though his words were meant for mockery, he still fulfilled that order as soon as it was given. Images flashed inside of Leila's mind, and her expression was exchanged with the one of terror. "There, I've done as you wanted, my queen. So if you would excuse me..."

Forcing his own gate closed, he disappeared just as quickly as he appeared, leaving nothing behind him, but a knowledge of what was about to happen. "Jiyu, run as far as you can! Yuki, you too! Libra, close the gate!"

Her companions did as she commanded without question, Yuki using her wings to fly high above the reach of the incoming spell and Libra disappearing into a golden mist. Activating one of her supportive spells, Leila started creating blue petals around her that increased speed of her sprint as she desperately tried to run away. Even using her teleport as much as she could to increase the distance she managed to cover when she suddenly heard Gabriella's words behind her.

"The final judgement... be smitten from the face of heavens!!"

Hopefully Jiyu did as Leila wanted, for a giant wave of holy energy suddenly scorched the forest covering ground of at least 200 meters in all directions from her body. Everything in the attack's path was destroyed without any mercy, and it nearly hit Leila as well. Only barely she managed to jump out of the affected area. With a sigh of relief, she would stand back up and look at the devastation. It really was brutal, power worthy of the Seraph and archangel. Good thing that she was so worried about the attack when she saw the angel charging it. Without Unknown's help, she would be most likely half dead right now. But the fight was over. That one attack was the last, exhausting Gabriella too much. Even from distance, it was clear that the angelic being was lying on the black ground without moving an inch. Slowly walking towards her, Leila looked around if her partner was somewhere close by. But even if she wasn't it didn't matter now. With the last of her energy, Gabriella stood back up.

"You... both of you are still standing, even after the final judgement. It was absolute... which means that you cannot possibly be demons. Ah... accept my deepest apologies... and return to your own world, please. I need... to fix what I destroyed..."

As she finished speaking, a briliant and blinding light appeared around all three of the girls and soon, they were falling from the skies. Yuki who was capable of flight landed in elegant way, Leila on the other hand face planted the ground. At least it wasn't too big of a fall, few meters top. The main thing was, they were still very alive. And they were gone from the heavens without any casualties. They were free to leave and go home if they so desired. It was all over, finally.

Jiyu was happy that Yuki had acted when she did otherwise the angel would have landed two more strikes on the already weakened dog demoness. Honestly she had not even considered that Liela would reply to her or that they would be distracted at all. When she had rushed Gabriela? It had been with the faith that her allies would pick up right where she left off, that she would be covered and safe. Thus Yuki saved her life when she distracted the angel with her high jump kick. Jiyu ducked to the side, darting and going through the trees, finding her way to hide, sighing softly when she heard the fight pick up behind her , and panting heavily as blood poured from wounds that on anyone else would have only leaked, she cursed her weak body as her mind buzzed softly and went subtly fuzzy. She was ticked, but out of danger for the moment, the enemy was engaged with Leila and her summon alongside Yuki! She could let her blood aid in her recovery, trusting Leila to take the second half of the fight and protect her from further harm. At the other girls warning? She groaned and chose to do something else besides running! Jiyu jumped distinctly, the wind catching her and helping the wind Mage take to the air, escorting her into the sky, helping her and lifting her from the range of attack. As she watched? The landscape became destroyed and she was glad that she was above it all and safe for once, thanks to Leila. Even now? They still made a good team! She sighed with relief as the other magic user appeared to be safe alongside Yuki.

“Thanks for the warning” only the voice would come from behind the other girl this time, arms out stretched in an aim to place her paws on the shoulders of the Phoenix smirking softly. When Leila looked though she would get a shock because Jiyu was floating in the air, wind playing with her hair, finally? The Angel had given up on them being demons, which was funny since at least one of them actually was one. “Take me home than, I don't have much get up and go left!” She chuckled but it was clear the wound across her stomach and across her shoulder would keep the witch down for a few days! She was clinging to the Eden Mage , arms draped over her shoulders as she floated idly.

And just like that, another unexpected adventure was behind them. It was only shame that this was not an actual contract or something, meaning they would not get paid a single jewel. But the experience was still there, even if money wasn't. And that was worth at least something. Not to mention that the little lover's quarrel between Leila and Jiyu was seemingly over. Getting up from the cold ground, the Eden's mage looked about, only to hear her friend's voice from behind. And when she turned, she had to jump back a little in surprise. Apparently the girl learned how to levitate using her magic. Well, Leila had that ability as well, thanks to Jiyu, actually. The griffon's feather was very visibly being used as a earring that she had placed on her right ear. With just a little magic, she would be capable of flight as well! And thinking about it now, maybe she should have used that when she was escaping Gabriella's mighty attack. Or even better, perhaps she should have used that one spell of hers which allowed Leila to merge with the ground as long as it was dirt and grass and not concrete. Of course, she did get that idea at the time, but she was worried that the holy blast would still reach her. After all, the entire affected area was completely scorched. But that was now long in the past, no use thinking about it anymore. Kneeling down and still showing Jiyu her back, she offered.

Just hop on my back, I'll give you a piggy ride home... I hope you're not much heavier in that form...

There was a little concern, and she probably had to make sure that no one would see them when they entered the Rose Garden... but right now, Leila was just happy that Jiyu was talking to her again. It felt like eternity when that girl ignored her letters and other messages, only because of something so trivial. It was interesting, however... her story was now starting to slowly unfold, reveal itself and move her forward in life. Would the same happen to Leila? Would she finally get to know who she was, and why she was here, in this realm? Her father sacrificed his last moments only to get her closer to the truth, but she was still so far away... it pained her. But if nothing else, she had some moral support right now in a form of a friend.

"If you start ignoring me again, I will find you and karate chop you again!" With those words of warning, the two of them would finally head home together. Yuki followed them as well, simply glad that she didn't have to fulfill her role of a hugging pillow that was intended for her when she was dragged on this journey And of course, she was happy for her master as well, finally showing that smile of hers instead of bored and unamused expression that she had way too often. It truly was nice to be around people you can trust... remembering how Leila did everything solo back in the day, it was almost laughable.
