Magic
Primary Magic: Lost Magic: Pulse
Secondary Magic: -
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Pulse magic is a lost magic very similar to many sound or vibration magics out there, the difference being that Pulse magic is sort of like the 'mother' of all those different flavors of vibration controlling magics. It allows the user to control vibrations. As such, they can also control sound, and the user may use these two main aspects to craft a wide array of spells, from defensive barriers made of intense vibrations, to destructive pulses of vibrations that shake things apart or cause blunt force trauma. To top it all off, the user is capable of using Pulse magic to craft spells with affects very similar to wave magic, which disperses other magics by vibrating magical energy.
Delilah uses pulse magic in a variety of ways, but tends to focus more on the basic offensive and defensive spells. She prefers to use the magic as lightly and creatively as possible, widely favoring improvised uses of her magic, signature spells and the unique abilities of Pulse magic.

Delilah uses pulse magic in a variety of ways, but tends to focus more on the basic offensive and defensive spells. She prefers to use the magic as lightly and creatively as possible, widely favoring improvised uses of her magic, signature spells and the unique abilities of Pulse magic.
Strengths:
- Passives: Pulse magic's passive and unique abilities tend to be fairly strong, in terms of passives/unique abilities. The power level increase is minor, but can make a major difference in the end.
- Powerful: The mere idea of shaking your opponents apart at the atomic structure, though quite impossible at low ranks, is fairly self-explanatory. This shit is pretty powerful. Pulse spells tend to do a bit more damage, as a result.
- Area of Effect: Being what is basically vibration and sound magic, Pulse magic is extremely effective in the field of AoE spells.
- Difficult to Avoid: Spells cast using Pulse magic are fast. Extremely fast. As such, they are very difficult to avoid in combat.
Weaknesses:
- Hard to Cancel: It's not that it's hard to nullify Pulse magic's spells, as long as you're capable of nullifying magic. This is more in reference that the speed of Pulse magic's spells make it so that once the spell is cast, the user can't do much to stop the effects from happening. Friendly fire is a danger in this case.
- Variety: Another double-edged sword, Variety makes it difficult to be decisive in combat. This can cause many problems, such as decreased reaction time, but more importantly it encourages the user to vent magic at a ludicrous rate, and causes them to tire more quickly.
- Vacuums: However unlikely it would be to fight in a vacuum, it still stands that vibrations are a no-go without some sort of medium. When fighting in a vacuum, all spells are severely reduced in power, to the point of being little more than aesthetic in function.
- Long Ranged Combat: Despite the power and versatility of Pulse magic, it does have a very major drawback. It just plain doesn't work at long range. The intensity of vibrations are reduced at any range greater than what would be considered 'mid-range', and as such no spells above D-rank in power may have the 'Long Range' qualifier.
Lineage: Aspect of Jupiter
Unique Abilities:
- Sound Control: Pulse magic users are able to control sound and vibrations on a large scale. As such, the user is capable of throwing her voice over long distances, muting others or making her own movements totally silent. This can also be used to amplify sounds, making any sound up to 150 decibels loud; the level at which things are so loud it can hurt. This cannot be used to cause any sort of damage to someone's HP, but can be used to temporarily deafen foes if done at close enough range.
The ability to quiet herself, throw her voice, or amplify sounds that she makes up to 100 decibels (loud enough to be heard clearly in a loud, crowded room, but not cause any damage) will be passive. Other uses of this ability will be limited by duration and cooldown. Range of all effects is 100 feet.
3 post duration, 6 post cooldown. Usable twice per thread. - Vibrating Body: The user is able to vibrate parts of her body at a high frequency, allowing her to move and react 25% faster than her rank would normally allow. This can also be used to augment basic melee damage, increasing the base damage for melee attacks by 25%, rounded to the nearest whole number.
- Vibration Armor: Users of Pulse magic are blessed with a protective shell at all times, which vibrates at an incredibly high frequency. This magical wall of vibrations can be lowered and raised with a mere thought from the user, allowing them to still be touched if they choose. The armor, while active, provides a 10% resistance to all forms of physical damage (does not include lightning, fire, other sound magic, or anything insubstantial), and makes it much easier for the user to avoid spells that require physical contact.
- Spells:
- D-Rank:
Name: Shockwave
Rank: D
Type: Sound/Vibration, Area of Effect, Offensive
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 4 Posts
Description: Delilah creates a sound -- by clapping or shouting, usually -- and uses Pulse magic to enhance the volume of the sound and the intensity of vibrations to dangerous levels. The sound deals splash damage (50%) to anyone within 30 feet of her when she uses this spell, and anyone within 3 feet of her takes full D-rank damage.
Strengths:- Good range of effect.
- Chance of doing full damage to multiple foes.
Weaknesses:- Easy to avoid the full brunt of the damage. If you know it's coming, all you have to do is take a step or two away, and you'll be outside the range of full effect.
- Friendly fire is almost inevitable during team battles.
- High cooldown. The cooldown of this spell is twice the stated minimum.
Name Sound Wall
Rank: D
Type: Vibration/Sound
Description: Gesturing towards where she wants the wall to appear, Delilah creates an intense vibration in the shape of a large, 3-meter by 3-meter wall somewhere within 10 meters of her. This wall will block movement, and defend against spells as long as the spell's effect is no larger than the wall itself, and it will only block 3 spells of D-rank quality. The wall can withstand up to 6 basic melee attacks at D-rank power.
Duration: 3 Posts
Cooldown: 4 Posts
Strengths:- Large size. Since the wall is so large, it is capable of blocking larger attacks.
- Nearly invisible. The wall appears as little more than a shimmer.
Weaknesses:- The wall's large size also makes it fairly cumbersome, and it can get in the way of ally movements and spells as well.
- Purely Defensive. As a purely defensive spell, it's uses are fairly limited.
- Area of Effect attacks, as well as large-scale or agile attacks, are able to avoid the wall entirely or simply blow past it.
Name Vibro-Spheres
Rank: D
Type: Vibration/Sound, Offensive, Mid-range
Description: Delilah generates 2 shimmering spheres of energy that each appear as a translucent white orb. These orbs float in the air above her, and then dart at sonic speeds towards up to 2 different targets. Each orb does 75% D-rank damage upon hitting, and immediately disappear at the end of the post they were used.
"Sonic Speeds" will be, for the sake of balance, about 15 meters per second. The spheres will dissipate, however, after 10 meters.
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 2 Posts
Strengths:- Can attack two targets at once.
- Can attack one target twice.
- Very difficult to avoid due to the speed of the attacks.
Weaknesses:- When attacking two targets, rather than just one, each attack will do reduced damage.
- Fairly easy to block, since the orbs are visible and there is a brief pause before they fire.
- Attacking 2 targets, while a viable option, is much harder than attacking one. Slightry less accurate.
- Delilah must remain still while casting the spell, though not for the entire post. This still leaves a sizable opening for attack, though.
Name Pulse Lance
Rank: D
Type: Vibration/Sound, Offensive, Short Range
Description: Delilah launches a short-ranged wave of Vibrations, focused into the shape of a lance, which does piercing damage on a successful hit. This attack, however, is extremely short ranged, only being usable on foes within 5 feet of Delilah. The lance then returns to Delilah, hovering near her to be used multiple times before disappearing at the end of the next post after casting it. Each strike only does 75% rank damage, though.
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: 2 Posts
Strengths:- Simple, single-target, close ranged attack that can be used multiple times.
- Short cooldown.
- Nearly Invisible, the lance only appears as a slight shimmer.
Weaknesses:- Lowered Damage.
- Extremely short range.
- Hard to aim. Being nearly invisible makes this hard to use precisely.
- Slower than other Pulse spells. Pulse Lance only moves as fast as the user, and as such is significantly slower than normal Pulse spells.
- Good range of effect.
