Niyol + Arcadios: The Grim Siblings
Gender:
Male
Age:
Niyol, 23
Arcadios, 21
Birthday:
November 1
December 30
Special Characteristics:
Niyol: Scar that looks like a tattoo that runs from under the
left eye, down his right arm, ending on his hand.
Both their eyes are extremely dull. They lack any signs
of life, and when looking into them it's as if they aren't looking
at you, but rather he's staring into your soul. And... in a
way, they kind of are.
Personality:
"May the spirits guide you my friend..." the words of the Guardian of Souls himself. Niyol, a human born of pain and suffering, lived only to be ridiculed and marred as a boy, and then tragically become one with the most absolute of nature's forces. Niyol is a man who's very life revolves around the dead. His sole duty is to ensure that when someone passes on, they do not linger in this world. Often times he will be seen communing with the souls of the damned in order to find out their last will, and then, he grants it if able. Niyol, out of combat, is a very peaceful man who enjoys spending his time meditating on his life, and resting his mind. He enjoys playing somber, slow, and calming songs on gentle instruments such as the ocarina, flute, and leaf whistle. Very seldomly will he enter one of the major cities of Fiore as many of them are beacons of disaster for the soul mage due to their high concentrations of death. Niyol is an extremely respectful man who speaks very formally due to not having learned the language of the outlanders when he was raised in the Tribe of Souls. The only time he disrespects others is if they disrespect him first.
Why do you hold back? Why not use your power and end them all? A question from Arcadios, Niyol's younger half brother. A boy who was born of a woman from the Tribe of Souls, and a man from the Tribe of the Mind he was forbidden from being in either tribe and lived with his family in the wilds. Arcadios prefers meditation, music, books, and above all else... sleeping under a shady tree. He enjoys training his magic, and detests the use of weaponry as he finds them to be barbaric and unnecessary. Arcadios has many issues with dealing with other humans, having been raised in the wilds, learning to survive day by day not knowing if he'd wake up the next morning his only comrades were the few souls that lingered around him. Arcadios however isn't entirely detached. He has a very caring nature and will often times go out of his way to assist others. When others are injured, he feels pain himself and will try to ease their suffering.
"DIE!" the words of the demons that reside inside Niyol. While these are separate entities of their own, they are still a part of this strange man. These beings are the former Angels of Death, Grim Reapers, Spirits of Death, Ferrymen for the River Styx, and harbingers of destruction. These beings are all rolled, infused into a singular being named Niyol, the Demon of Finality. This demon, the absolute most powerful of all demons, is infused with Niyol's soul and continuously fights him for control. Because of this, Niyol in a sense IS death itself. Though, since Niyol has a human's body, as well as a human's will he can be killed. He fears death itself, and refuses to let himself die. Niyol, by no means, is invulnerable to damage, nor is he immune to death itself. However, when Niyol dies, the Demon of Finality will take over his corpse and make Fiore his playground. While within area's that have been stricken with great deals of death, namely the major cities, the Demon of Finality becomes so incredibly powerful that it controls Niyol and causes him to commit heinous crimes normally including gruesome murders that leave no clues as to his presence in their wake.
During combat Niyol adopts a hybrid combat style. He viciously fights his foes, but at the same time will use his terrain to his advantage. He fights hard and smart at the same time, often times allowing one attack to bleed into the next one, keeping momentum as his number one asset to prolong his endurance. "By letting the weapon swing itself, you do not require using your own strength to do little more than a gently nudge." is his exact words. Arcadios prefers to stay at range and use summons and ranged spells to deal damage, therefore he has more magic power but less endurance than Niyol. This isn't saying together they have more than the average mage does, but rather they balance out their roles.
As a leader, Niyol will provide small suggestions to his allies, but he will not force his will on them. While leading, he is a remarkable leader. He is able to figure all plans of attack on his own, war tactics having been part of his tribe's standard curriculum right along with manners and outlander speech. Niyol will not follow a person, unless the individual has proven themself to be truly knowledgeable in their words. However, he will always listen to suggestions from others and consider all ideas for plans. Niyol will never attempt to force his way to a leadership role, nor will he listen to an individual who will. The most common method of leading that Niyol prefers, is to have everyone on equal ground and not have a chain of command at all.

Likes:
☠ Niyol enjoys the company of children and for some reason all children (NPC's) take a shine to the man from the moment they meet him.
☠ Niyol enjoys the company of animals, much like children all animals take a shine to him without question. This is with the exception of those belonging to players as those animals can't always sense that Niyol is a force of nature with skin.
☠ Niyol enjoys plant life of all kinds and knows the names, and medicinal capabilities of every last plant in Fiore, Desierto, Seven, and Ca-Elum. From doing research on the plants of these areas, Niyol is also able to speak each nation's native tongue just as well as he speaks Fiore's. Since other mages, ones that control plants that is, normally have their plants enhanced with magic, Niyol isn't knowledgeable about those.
☠ Arcadios enjoys books of all kinds, children's book, adult books, ... ADULT books, nature stuff, fiction, all of them.
☠ Arcadios FREAKING LOVES CHOCOLATE.
☠ Arcadios likes sleeping... a lot
Dislikes:
☠ Areas that were hit by members of the Achnologia Fan Club (Priory of The Wyrm) are normally very high in death count, and have so much residual death energy that Niyol's inner demons are able to overpower his will and force him to kill without reason, so he normally avoids these areas unless he receives a solemn vow the demons will behave.☠ Niyol detests those who hold no respect for the dead. Individuals who happily desecrate graved, or laugh at the way someone has died, or disrespect the concept of mortality often get a painful lesson in manners.
☠ Niyol detests those who would happily throw their emotions away, often times taking to beating the hell into them while giving them a lecture about how being nearly emotionless sucks.
☠ Niyol believes that he is the cause of all his problems, as well as the problems caused by things in his life that are actually not in his control. For this, he hates himself and really doesn't care how hurt he gets.
☠ Arcadios hates seeing people suffer.
☠ Arcadios hates people desecrating the graves of the deceased.
☠ Arcadios doesn't like talking to people... not even Niyol.
Motivations:
☠ Niyol has a master plan, one that will let him receive proper judgement, get rid of his demons, and allow him a new life while retaining his memories. Niyol doesn't care how many people he has to kill, how many villages he has to annihilate, or how many time he has to die; he will accomplish this goal.☠ Niyol will ensure that the few friends he has receive his full support. Even after his soul has been corrupted, after he himself is a demon, even beyond the grave he swears on his soul that he will answer the call of those he labels a member of his people.
☠ Niyol will fight to the death to protect those he's currently on a mission with, often times coming out of the job quite bloody. ☠ If he can help it, Niyol will ensure honor in all actions he consciously performs, even if it means betraying one of his allies.
☠ Arcadios's goals are as follows: Learn more stuff, help Niyol, die a good death.
Fears:
☠ Niyol is constantly afraid of accidentally letting his power loose, and as a result creating yet another area of the world he must avoid for fear of becoming the greatest danger to the inhabitants.☠ Niyol fears the idea of him personally killing those he has labeled a member of the Tribe of Souls.
☠ Niyol fears dying permanently before his master plan is seen through.
☠ Niyol fears for who will be next in line to inherit his... "talent" of controlling death.
☠ Arcadios fears what may happen if he pushes his magic too far, or tries to become Niyol.
☠ Arcadios is afraid of Niyol.
☠ Arcadios is afraid of other people.
