Anastasia and Taliya walked into the room, walking forward only for the door to shut behind the group, to include Nao and Lynn.  Anastasia turned around to notice a little grin upon the woman's face before the door shut closed.  It was a trap.  "Yeah, it looks like it," she responded to Nao with him stating that they fell into a trap.  It was such an obvious trap, at that.  She turned her eyes down the narrow corridor and released the restraint upon the Fire Moth orbital weapon.  She narrowed her eyes as both she and Taliya got into a ready stance.  Anastasia and Taliya moved forward only for Lynn, Nao, Charlie, and Zlatan took off in the direction of the mechs, watching as they made quick work of the 5 droids.  This caused Anastasia and Taliya to belink in unison.  It almost wasn't fair seeing the absolute destruction coming from 2 A Rank mages and their companions.

Kenta and his sister remained behind Anastasia, the two staring on in complete awe.  "Holy crap!  That's the power of A Rank Mages?" Kenta's sister said causing Anastasia to nod her head with a smile.  "Yeah, that sure is.  But don't get cocky.  They always come in waves."  Ana explained before, as if on-queue, another wave of droids appeared in the corridor.  Ana cleared her throat and pointed towards the droids.  "Get ready."

Kenta cleared his throat, his hands firmly upon his blade, shaking violently out of fear.  "Don't worry, we're here to back you up," Anastasia said with a smile upon her face.  "You too, Yuka, you can do this!" she said with a comforting smile.

"How about you?" Yuka asked before Anastasia shook her head.  "I have a very limited time for my magic.  I'm saving my power for the monstrosity.  You will have Taliya and The Fire Moth by your side," she said as Taliya gave the two a wink and a thumbs up.  With that, the four (to include the Fire Moth) ran up to the five new droids that appeared behind Lynn and Nao.

"Behind you!" Yuka shouted out, attracting the attention of the droids away from the Ice Mage that enveloped her enemies in a prison of ice, only to completely destroy them and the water mage dousing the robots in water with the gryphon electrocuting them.

"Boost me!" Yuka shouted as Kenta smirked and sheathed his weapon.  He grabbed a hold of his sister's ankles and swung her like a club towards the group of robots.  With her heavy mace held out front, Yuka was flung into the group of droids, scattering them like bowling pins!  Kenta pumped his fist in victory before Ana shouted out.  "Don't celebrate yet, idiots!" before Kenta got his act together and pulled out his sword.

As Kenta pulled out his sword, Taliya zipped passed him and grabbed Yuka by her foot and launched her towards another Droid.  Taliya's laugh could be heard resonating through the hallway before appearing in the middle of the droids.  She slapped her gauntlets together, creating a black hole to suck in all of the droids, once again, into a tight center.

"Yuka!" Taliya said before releasing the black hole.  With a jump upwards, Yuka held her massive mace high above her only to come down crashing on the robots, splattering 2 of them into smithereens while scattering the other three.  The Fire Moth joined the fray, firing off beams of super heated plasma at one of the droids, effectively turning it's metallic armor into molten metal.  Taliya jumped over the Fire Moth and rammed her fist straight into one of the droid's throats, pulling out a series of wires from what would have been it's throat.  Kenta finished off the last remaining droid by decapitating it with his blade.

    There was silence

After a brief moment of silence, Anastasia walked up to the group of would-be Rune Knights and nodded her head.  She reached out and grabbed the Fire Moth and held it like an American Football, tucked into her arm and the two would-bes sheathed their weapons.  Kenta pumped his fist with extreme excitement.  "Oh yeah!  We kicked some ass!" he said as Yuka and he jumped up and slapped hands in victory.

"Geez, it feels like I was the only one that didn't contribute this time," Anastasia said as she looked at Nao and Lynn.  Her eyes focused on Lynn for a moment.  "Your ice magic's pretty scary.  I wouldn't want to get stuck in that," she said with a laugh.  "Good thing you're on our team."  Her eyes went back towards Nao and gave him a thumbs up.  "Kicked ass like usual, Nao.  Keep it up dude!" Ana said.  Unfortunately, with her current set-up, she's only effective if she is able to use her dragon set, but due to the power of the set, she only has a certain time-frame she is able to use it.  Besides, using it now wasn't worth her strength or magic power.

A voice could be heard over the intercom.

--I didn't expect you two to get through this corridor.  Oh well, I guess if you want to finish your inspection, continue forward.  But then again, I won't let you all leave after what you're about to-- the woman said before being interrupted by a loud, ear-piercing roar.

"What the hell was that!" Kenta said moments after flinching at the suddenness of the sound.  Yuka moved behind Kenta, holding his arm.  "I don't know, Kenta.  Maybe that's what we were looking for?" Kenta nodded his head and shrugged Yuka off of his arm and unsheathed his sword.  "This is what we came here for Yuka, get ready!" he said before heading forward headlong through the door at the end of the corridor.  Kenta approached the door and opened it only to stumble back upon seeing the monstrosity behind the door.

"It's...  A Monster!" he said.  Before Kenta or Yuka had a chance to respond, the two that went forward ahead of the group got sucked up into the room; loud screams could be heard from the two of them.

"Oh crap!" Anastasia said as she charged in through the door to find herself in a large, darkened hangar.  Within the hangar was a massive monstrosity.  This was the target they were looking for.  "Guys!" she shouted back into the corridor towards Lynn and Nao.  The pair of siblings could be seen, floating in the air in their own bubbles.  Ana looked between the two.  Which one should she save first?  What's going on?

Post by Nao 1st November 2016, 6:20 am

Nao took a long pause to admire the magic that Lynn had used against another 3 of the robots that had appeared during the small scuffle. It seemed that while they would be arriving in droves of multiple groups at a time, they were manageable when it came to fighting them due to their abilities being great at slowing down the already slow junker bots.

"That's way too cool! I wish I could control my water to do things like freezing!" Nao remarked in surprise for a moment, causing Charlie to look at him with confusion. Why on earth would it matter to encase them in ice if he could just short circuit them with water and lighting? It was still very very impressive to the impressionable young man. Even the two young knights seemed to be in awe of what was going on here.

It was then Lynn showed off the frightful part of her ice magic, as the ice crept up the legs and limbs of the robots. A large and thick crack would pierce his ears as the robots were crunched by the sheer cold of Lynn's magic. His face of awe and wonder became fright as he looked at his own frail limbs and shuddered.

"Y-yeah! G-go Lynn!" Nao tried to cheer for a moment, fearing for his life if he got on the wrong side of her. His cheeks whitened and his movements shaky while regaining his composure on the gryphon who was continuing to fire bolts of lightning at the robots.

Speaking of robots, Ana was making quick work of the droids that were in front of them too. Between her weapon, Taliya and her commanding presence among the two knights...they were becoming no match for them at all.

'This is way too easy' Nao thought to himself, throwing a bolt of water or two at the robots when he could. He didn't even need to fight because of how easy this was becoming for them. It was like 7 vs 5 at a time. And focusing them down was becoming so very easy.

Yuka and Kenta were becoming in sync with each other too. Of course they were! They were brother and sister after all. Watching them fight together was admirable. He felt a sense of wishing he could team up with someone like that. He felt like he had done that before, but the only figure he could remember doing that with was... himself? He wasn't too sure how working along his own side made any sense.

As he was daydreaming the room weren't silent. The last robot fell but so did the rooms... feeling? It was dead and ominous. Relief swept through him and through Ana and the Knights, so it seemed. But something made little sense. Why did it all stop? Why was it so easy?

And then the intercom turned on, with the previous woman speaking through it and praising their work on the robots. Nao frowned and gripped tight to Charlie's feather coat, making the gryphon wince for a moment. But he gripped even tighter when he heard a piecing roar, which caused his ears to be hit with a shockingly load ringing as he was near the intercom.

He fell off and landed on the floor with a large "oof" sound. He winced in pain and rolled around on the floor for a little while, before getting up to see Yuka and Kenta being slowly dragged into the other room, with Ana panicking.

Nao would jump up, creating a watery tail around his waist. It would move quickly to grab the nearest person it could stretch to. Kenta had been the closest to the door so Yuka would have been the closest it could grab. Hopefully someone else could save Kenta?

"Someone grab Kenta! Hurry!" Nao called out, fighting the grip of the bubbles. It would be a tough fight to save them both for sure.

While this was happening in front of them, behind them were even more robots beginning to creep up on them. Only the clangs and clumsy movements would actually give away the next wave. But saving Kenta, or fighting robots? What was everyone's plan of action?

As soon as the bubble for Yuka was touched, the bubble holding Kenta started to rise up, causing Yuka to look on in horror.  She shouted out and screamed in horror before Ana held her back.  "Taliya!" Ana shouted as Taliya jumped up towards the bubble and attempted to ram her fist into the bubble only for it to bounce her right back, away from the bubble.  "No can do, Ana.  That thing is invulnerable." Taliya responded.  Worming her way from Ana's grip, Yuka ran up towards the bubble that where her brother was in.

"Don't worry, Yuka.  I'll be fine!" Kenta stated as he pressed his palms flat upon the bubble.  "Be strong, alright and~~" Kenta said before his entire bubble exploded from the inside, splattering the bubble into a giant red mess.  Knowing what this is, Yuka shrieked in horror before the bubble shrunk down and slowly moved towards the massive mech that sat in the hangar they were in before it's eyes lit up.

"What the hell?" Anastasia asked out-loud as the mechanical nightmare let out a roar.  A massive amount of energy was released, destroying the restraints that the metal monstrosity was harnessed within.  Another loud roar caused the creature to stand up, blowing the top off of the hangar in a violent explosion.

Enraged, Yuka ran up towards the metal giant and started to wail at the creature with her massive mace.  Ana looked on towards the infuriated sister with a look of sadness in her eyes.  Ana turned her head towards Taliya before Taliya ran towards Yuka, knocked her out and returned her to the rest of the party.  As debris continued to fall, Anastasia put up a barrier for a brief moment, big enough to surround herself and her group.  It was at this time that the monstrous metal giant ignited it's engines and flew up into the sky, away from the lab.

Anastasia watched on as the massive metal giant took off away from the lab, only for the group to be encountered by the woman that lead them into the room.  "You!" Anastasia shouted as she walked over to the woman and grabbed her by the collar and shook her around.  "You knew this was going to happen, didn't you?" Ana asked as the woman shook her head.  "No, I had no idea that it would do that.  It wasn't in the programming to do that," she answered back.  With a growl, Anastasia shoved the woman away.

Pulling out her iLac, Anastasia dialed in a number and began to speak into it.  "Yeah, come and pick us up, George.  Yeah, that big giant monster, we need to fight that.  Alright.  Make it quick," she said as she hung up her iLac and turned to look towards Nao with a smile.  "Well, you did what you thought was right, Nao.  Don't let what happened bother you, bud," she said as the SS Myrmidon's jetwash started to cover the hangar, or what was left of it.

A ladder was dropped down to the group from the ship.  OF course, Lynn was kind of doing her thing; great timing on her part.  Ana grabbed the rope ladder and started her way up to the ship.  "Let's go, Nao.  We have to chase after that bastard," she said as Taliya followed suit with Yuka in-tow.

Post by Nao 22nd November 2016, 3:22 pm

Was it the right choice? Was it not? He wasn’t too sure as the tail grabbed for the bubble of Yuka, instantly demolishing it. He felt that it was too easy, and in fact he was very much correct in that assumption as the other bubble that Taliya tried to go for didn’t work. His eyes grew wide and he felt the guilt creep in on his body. He didn’t deserve to slay dragons if he couldn’t even protect a single kid. He just stood and watched as the bubble kept rising up higher and higher.

Kenta looked at them as Yuka shrieked in fear. He had already accepted his fate and before he even got the chance to finish his sentence he was turned into paste. Nao winced and looked away, feeling brine rising up from his stomach and beginning to sweat from his arm pits. That was what was going to happen to the both of them? It shook him down the centre of his core. He couldn’t even comprehend with the concept even going on in his mind, and he just began to shut down.

He would stand there in complete silence, not even in quiet mourning for the loss, but out of the sheet regret he had on even coming on this stupid mission. Why were they even looking for some stupid quest anyway? These kids should have known better.

Nao didn’t even react to the loud piercing roar and the creature rising from the restraints that it once held. He couldn’t react to Yuka charging in, or even Taliya knocking her out old with one blow to the noggin. He would just be shell-shocked from taking in everything that had happened to him.

He couldn’t find the strength to look up and see that the woman knew about the robot, and that Ana was getting more and more angry. In fact that he was even conscious was an amazement to him. But the reaction Nao was making was making Charlie uncomfortable and concerned as he tried to push the Water Dragon Slayer around a little bit, but to no avail.

Ana spoke to him, which only then did he snap out of his phase. He just looked at her with a little deadened and emotionless face as he tried to muster something up.

”I…I…” he couldn’t even get anything out to say to her. But he was saved by the ladder dropping down from George above them. He would just nod to Ana and grab the rope with his new tail and jump into the cargo ship

Once everyone had arrived on the ship, he would begin to think of some kind of plan. He wasn’t entirely sure what they were to do in this situation.

”I-I feel awful,” he said, looking down and away from everyone. ”And not even because Kenta died but because I made the decision to let Kenta die. I threw a life away and now we have a giant robot that apparently eats people.” But he thought back to the previous robots.

”The last robots seemed to be stunned by lightning… maybe we could generate a storm and target it at the robot to give us some time to attack the joints. If we can remove its limbs then how will it even fight?”

    GUESS WHO'S BACK!?
Her attacks seemed to have gone through flawlessly, which brought a satisfied smile to her face. Lynn turned to see the others, who seemed oddly shocked, probably by the unnecessarily brutal display of her magic. While Ana admitted that her magic was quite scary, and that she didn't want to get stuck in that, to which Lynn replied with a nervous laugh. Nao took a bit longer to thread a sentence in reaction to her magic. Maybe she should have been softer? She didn't want her job partners to be scared of her. And she definitely did not want to scare the two kids, who seemed to be less shocked. In fact, they looked quite impressed. "Thanks," said Lynn who was at a loss for words with the various reactions she received, but it seemed their job didn't end there. It was only the beginning, as a voice echoed through the room, a female's voice that was very familiar to them. It was the lady who showed them around. She seemed to have underestimated their powers, as she stated so. Lynn was about to come up with a rude reply to her when she felt and heard the roar that punctuated her message. Now this was a shitty situation. They were down here in this shithole and Lynn couldn't call Zlatan because there wasn't a way she could think of to get him to where she was without putting him in danger. Who knows what might happen to him during his way here, right?

As she was thinking of this, everything happened so quickly as if she was going through a dreamy shift in time, and when she was brought back to reality, she was in a hangar with her partners . . . but the two younger ones were caught in a bubble each. 'What . . ?' she thought while looking from Nao to Ana to Taliya, all wearing a look of utter confusion each. Lynn herself was quite puzzled, given how she seemed to have just gone through an unreal push in time (clearly just her imagination). They were deciding who to save? Couldn't they just save both of them? That was when it registered in Lynn's brain, the mechanical monstrosity that stood behind the two bubbles looking like it could eat them all and still be hungry (although it was a machine). It wasn't Ana who made the decision of whom they should save, nor was it Lynn, but Nao who seemed to think that it was most plausible to save the girl, which Lynn thought was the right decision since she was the one closer to them than the monster, unless someone wanted to risk their life trying to save another. Taliya was able to reach Yuka and bring her out of the strange bubble while Lynn just stood frozen in panic. She didn't seem to think properly at all at this moment. As Kenta drifted closer to the beast, he already knew what he was going to face – death itself. He began to say things that would only make someone more sad than they already were. But before he could even finish his sentence, the bubble was colored red in an instant. Lynn just stared at it, being familiar with even more gory scenes. But what made her turn away was the thought that Yuka was going to have this mental scar for the rest of her life.

The death of her brother made her go unexpectedly berserk and do something stupid. Thankfully, Taliya was able to act quickly before the monster could eat her up as well. Nao seemed to be having a breakdown because he was the one who made the decision. "Nao, what you did was right. Don't feel bad because it's not your fault," Lynn said, her voice coming out a little stiff and awkward, but you could tell that from her facial expression she was in a state of trauma with how this job turned out to be one hell of a ride. She heard Ana contacting 'George' who was now supposed to come and pick them up. Lynn sent a telepathic message to Zlatan to follow whoever George is. Apparently the beastly machine wasn't programmed to do what it just did. "Well you're all going to jail for this. And I hope you rot while you're in there," she told the lady in a very threatening yet hushed tone before following the others.

    Lamentation
    and
    Destruction

Nao felt just as bad as Anastasia did upon seeing the violent and gory death of Kenta.  Currently, on the ship, Yuka slept in Ana's quarters while she stood upon the bridge, looking out the window while pursuing the large metal monstrosity.  It wasn't that she couldn't take on this creature, herself, but she also had to consider the soul of the boy that might be inside of the metal behemoth.  Strangely, though, she didn't feel anything or see anything entering the body of the giant.  She could understand the plight of Nao's decision, having to choose one or the other.  The view outside of the ship is a monster stomping it's way through the town and into the middle of nowhere.

Anastasia sucked air between her teeth and balled her hand into a fist.  "George, make sure Yuka remains asleep.  I don't need her going batshit crazy while we're fighting that thing," she said before Nao chimed in about using electricity.  Yes, that was a good idea.  Wait a second!  Anastasia just remembered a module installed within the ship.  The Tesla Arc.

Ana patted Nao on the back and nodded her head.  "Good friggin idea!" she said before clearing her throat and spoke to the artificial intelligence within the ship.  "George, discharge and ground the Tesla Arc," she said before the artificial intelligence replied in agreement.  At this point, she could figure that Nao is probably confused at what Ana was thinking.  "I have a plan and it involves lightning.  I need a little bit.  Get a hold of Lynn and tell her to steer clear for a little bit. I need to make a modification real quick," she stated before running out of the bridge, towards the maintenance ladder and up above the surface.  It was here, she had to climb up a ladder up the float towards the "horn" of the ship.

She climbed slowly, feeling the violent winds from flying towards the mechanical nightmare and cross-winds.  She gritted her teeth as she continued to climb this ladder, losing her grip a couple times only to catch herself.  After a short struggle, she moved her way into the "horn" of the ship and flipped on a light and began modifications.

She flipped on an embedded microphone inside the "horn" to speak with Nao.

"I forgot this ship had a module called 'The Tesla Arc' on-board used as a means of defense using electricity to create an electromagnetic field that-" she said as she continued on with more jargon that seemed uninteresting.  "The short version is, I can route the electricity to shoot back towards the mecha.  All I need, however, is a storm.  Some lightning would be nice," she said before clearing her throat and finished her modification with an "AHA!  AND DONE!" the sound of the microphone muted before Anastasia worked her way down the ladder, which was actually a lot more tricky than going up the ladder.  Didn't help that the ladder was at a painful angle instead of straight up and down.

After a few moments, a hatch opened with Anastasia quickly returning to the ship.  She returned to the bridge with her hair all messed up, looking like she went through an air-tunnel.  Her hair being permanently stuck that way.

"All we need now is a storm.  With a quick 'ZAP' we could probably paralyze that monster."

Hatching this half-cooked plan to help kill word count.
Could always use word count on Kenta's funeral as well just so the next half of the job isn't all fight fight fight against something we could easily destroy.

Sacrifice - Page 2 Empty Re: Sacrifice

Post by Nao 30th November 2016, 3:20 pm

On the ship Nao was being consoled by the rest of his team. Even his gryphon was there trying to help him feel better after the whole entire ordeal. It didn’t really change how he felt about everything that had just happened in the last five or ten minutes or so. Instead constantly reminding him that he had chosen the option of saving the kid who hadn’t actually done all that much on this adventure seemed to be the silly option in his mind. Kenta would have loved to have fought the giant creature that they were going to have to fight… but instead he was now the power source for the robot that was now going to terrorise them.

Great, just great. What are we really supposed to do with the monster once we used some cruddy lightning powers? Nao thought to himself as Ana exclaimed what a great idea it was. But where were they going to make that much lightning power in such a short amount of time? And where were they going to store it?

Then Ana’s idea made Nao look at her funny. What the heck was the Tesla Arc? And why hadn’t she told him about what it actually did. Come to think of it… he remembered Ashe was the one who lugged it onto the ship when they were building it, but he didn’t know what it did.

His eyes went wide with realisation on what she actually meant. She wanted to use lightning on the Tesla arc They could generate lightning power and hit the tesla arc, discharging it on the robot and disabling it for at least some time. It would give them enough time to do some damage right? But how were they going to make a storm that quick? They only had an ice mage, a water mage, a mech warrior, a Zlatan and… Charlie… Wait… Charlie could make lightning! Charlie could help!

”Charlie!” Nao called out as the gryphon looked over to him and walked over in puzzlement. A grin crept along the Water Slayer’s face as he figured out what to do with his team. He was going to create the largest storm Motor City had ever seen. But he needed Charlie, and he definitely needed his new teammate Lynn for this.

”Hey Lynn I need to borrow your ice powers for this.” He beamed a bright smile with how they could work together, despite him being terrified of how her powers essentially superseded his by converting his water into ice. ”I think between the two of us we’re going to make something really really awesome!”

He wasn’t trying to forget the sacrifice Kenta had made, but by immersing himself in the job then he began to feel some kind of use again. And by focusing solely on what was happening in front of him then he was beginning to forget what had happened and what they had lost. Dangerous, but at the same time he needed it just for now until they were ready. Mourning Kenta could wait just for a little while as they made their preparations to protect his little sister and the city he was defending.

”Ana we’ll be on the balco-“ he noticed then that Ana returned with her hair looking like how it usually was when she woke up and forgot to get ready before leaving the quarters. He would try and hide a smirk, but he was also excited about his plan.

” Yeah we’ll be on the balcony. I got an idea on how we could get this up and running. Might be best to go check up on the girl too…” He smiled at her, and ran out to one of the balconies. He hoped Lynn would follow him as he realised what they could do with their powers. He was surprised he didn’t think of it any sooner, but as soon as he heard they needed a storm, then a storm was what they were going to get.

”Okay okay okay okay,” he said quickly if she appeared outside. ”W-well what we need to do is generate a storm. I think the hot air mixed with cold air could work. If you could use your ice powers on the sky and I make some nice sauna fog to go with it… then I think it should work. Especially if both of our pets were to help guide the airs together.”

Nao would then begin to cast his Warer Dragon’s Spa Strike at the air, sending scalding heated water towards the sky. Charlie would help flag the attacks upwards, with the power of magic somehow making it easier to work on this. He could have just asked Charlie to use his lacrima to change to the lightning element, but that probably wouldn’t have been enough power. They definitely needed more charge from it.

He would keep blowing hot air into the sky, trying to make it mix with cold air to make the storm they so needed. But he definitely needed the help from his team mates on this one.

    AM I DOING THIS RIGHT?
As they traveled through the air, Lynn could see that the monster had been released into the city, and was now beginning to wreak havoc. The sight made her cringe a little. It was impossible for them to stop it while it was in the building. They would have all been exploded into bloody messes if they tried, just like poor little Kenta. But now that they knew who their enemy was, it was time for them to take action. Lynn flew on Zlatan’s back alongside the ship known as George, or at least that’s what she thought. She didn’t know that it was actually the name of the artificial intelligence that steered the ship itself - which had a different name. With her dragon slayer senses, Lynn listened to the conversation that went on aboard George, while Ana tried to cook up ideas and Nao seemed to be slowly getting over the death of Kenta. Lynn, to be frank, didn’t mind it much. She considered it nothing more than a casualty in this difficult mission. But for the poor girl Yuka, it was much more than that. She had lost a family member, who knows, maybe her last one. They never talked about their parents anyway. They were probably orphans. Lynn then decided to think of something else more cheerful. They were going to get rewards for finishing this job! Yes, that was definitely a cheerful thought. Zlatan huffed as he flew at a slow pace to match the speed of the ship that was everyone else was aboard.

A while later, Anastasia exclaimed something, something about an arc? The only kind of arc that Lynn knew was the curved shape. Is that what she was talking about? And what was Tesla? Some kind of spider? Zlatan seemed to have no clue what it meant either, so she just shrugged and kept listening to what Ana said. She began to explain what it was all about, to which Lynn reacted by saying, “Ohhhh, that could actually work.” She was actually thinking out loud. She could create lightning using her magic, not a full on storm, but just lightning. BUT, if she combined her powers with Nao’s, then maybe they might be able to cook up a real storm! Just when she was thinking of this, Nao called out for her and then told her that he needed to borrow her ice powers for this. “I’m listening!” she shouted back so that he would hear over all the noise that the mechanical monster was making in the background. Zlatan moved a little closer to the ship so she could hear better and do everything according to plan. All she had to do was blow cold air in the same area where Nao was blowing his own hot air. “Got it!” she replied, and began to create cold air to mix with the hot air. She wasn’t sure this would work because she had never tried it before, but she really hoped it did. She didn’t exactly know what she was doing though.

Nao, too, concocted a plan to kick up a storm so the Tesla Ark had more than enough energy to fill it's capacitors.  Anastasia ran a hand through her hair only to recoil upon feeling just how disheveled and messed up it is.  However, Nao's suggestion to go check up on the girl was correct.  "Taliya, keep an eye on that monster," Anastasia commanded the creature. "Aye aye!" Taliya said as she returned to the background.  Turning on her heels, she walked out of the bridge and down the familiar corridor where all of the rooms were.  She stopped right before her own room, where Yuka resided.

"Don't hate Nao for choosing you over Kenta.  He did what he thought was right by protecting you," she said to Yuka from behind the locked door.  It was an evolutionary advantage to protect the woman, as they were the bearers of chldren, after all.  A man cannot hold a child so a male's instinct to protect the ones that could bear children just came naturally.

"I don't hate him," Yuka responded back from behind the door.  She was sitting upon Anastasia's bed with her knees curled up to her chest and her face buried between her knees.  Her eyes were swollen from the excessive crying she was doing and her face stained with streaks of dried tears coming from her eyes.  Yuka peaked over her knees and the look of anger and rage was still clearly evident upon her face, as if she was going to do something foolish in the future.  She heard all of Anastasia's plans, allowing her to get a 'heads-up' on how to destroy the metallic behemoth.

"You're right, Anastasia.  Nao did the right thing," Yuka said with a big toothy grin.  However, this gesture went unnoticed due to a door blocking the two.

"We're going to get revenge for Kenta.  You stay in here while we take this thing down, alright?" Ana asked only to be given silence as a reply.  Anastasia simply said "Sorry," before walking to the cargo hold.  She was enveloped in a white light as her massive Dragon Armor appeared with her Dragon Fangs already equipped on the massive suit.  Now she waits.

Anastasia pushed a button on her console that connected her directly into the bridge.  "Taliya, Nao and Lynn are trying to whip up a storm.  Take manual control of the ship and approach the target.  We need to get within range.  A bolt of lightning will strike the ship and it will be up to you to discharge the Tesla Ark," Anastasia said.

Upon the bridge, Taliya heard Anastasia's command and nodded before approaching the helm and assumes full control of the ship's movements.  However, upon the order of activating the Tesla Ark, Taliya's face contorted in confusion.  "How do I activate the Tesla what?" Taliya asked.

"The Tesla Ark. It's a module that Ashe installed.  It was originally meant to be a defense mechanism, but I made a few adjustments.  We're basically going to be throwing a LOT of lightning at that robot," Anastasia explained.  Taliya's eyes lit up and she shouted over the microphone.

"What do I press!" she said, causing Anastasia to flinch a bit from the loud noise in the cockpit.  Her face twisted a bit from the volume.  "Just tell George to activate it when you are given the command," Ana stated.

"Alright!  Time to blow some shit up!" Taliya remarked.  "I'll be waiting for the command!"

Anastasia sat back in the cockpit of her mech and just waited.  She turned off the microphone to talk to Taliya and took a sigh outward.  "Now, to wait for the storm to hit," she said.

Sacrifice - Page 2 Empty Re: Sacrifice

Post by Nao 22nd December 2016, 3:12 pm

Storms were not really his main strength when it came to the power of the weather. No, Nao’s actual strength was just making everything really wet and everyone feel a little miserable because of it. A real damper on the mood. But by combining his spells with Lynn’s they might have actually had the chance of getting somewhere with this whole business of getting a storm made. He made no promise to himself that this was ever going to actually work for the group, on the other hand he was really excited to see this work and if he could actually make it work then he would have to be commended somehow.

Come on Nao… you can do this… you just need to focus on making your water magic as hot as possible, and make sure Lynn’s is cold enough to match it and create the storm. Oh man I hope this works well enough. He remembered Charlie would be able to start the storm with some lightning bolts as well. Once they were ready to do so, and get in range of doing this.

He would begin by using one of his signature spells, which caused a large veil or hot water hurling into the sky. He would have to take moments to stop and breath, as well as cool down his throat as he let out hot and steamy vapours through the sky. He just hoped that the cold air that Lynn would be using would mix with his hot air and create the pressure they needed to cause the storm in the sky.

The continuous change of warm to cold air around him was making him shiver from time to time. He couldn’t really handle icy cold weather due to the way his magic worked around ice. With their strength in being able to completely stop water magic he found it difficult to fully rely on ice users to help him. But he had faith in Lynn, the biker chick lady with the crazy pet.

He could sort of feel the air pressure beginning to change above them, with clouds forming right on top of the ship. Nao looked to Charlie and nodded, before watching the gryphon fire bolts of lightning from his wings. The bolts would strike and jolt around the clouds, causing the static to rise in the air. And with that the thunder would begin to start striking down around them.

It would be attracted to the Tesla Ark, surging through the installation and into the battery. A few charges of it would be enough for now, but at least if the storm continued they could continue to use it against the boss.

He jumped for joy at the sight of the bolts, before realising where he was and stopping. He coughed a little to hide the embarrassment before smiling at Lynn and giving her a thumbs up.

”Good job! Looks like we managed to give it enough power for a while. Hopefully we can use our powers more like that in the future.”

Nao looked for a comm link to call Ana, and proceeded to give her the word about everything that had happened.

”Storm is ready to give us a little juice against the robot. The storm should also be around long enough to continue giving us charges. Lets get ready to take this down… for Kenta.” This was the only option now. There was no time or reason to run away, but instead they would just push on through against this robotic monster. They would have to win, or let Motor City perish.

Rain began to pummel the SS Myrmidon and all of Motor City, causing a wave of cold water to rain down upon the terrified inhabitants and the metal monstrosity that terrorized the city.  A bolt of lightning struck the ship, slowly charging the capacitor within the Tesla Ark.  Another bolt struck the ship.  The ship continued to circle around the slow-moving mech as it marched through the city.  Another flash of lightning struck the ship before a loud crack of thunder.

The crack of thunder stirred awake the young girl sleeping in Anastasia's room.  She turned her head to survey her surroundings, wiping off the dampness upon her cheeks.  Her eyes were swollen from the crying earlier; bloodshot from the untimely sleep and the bawling of her eyes.  She had recently lost her brother to the Titan Corporation.  There wasn't a single shred of sadness within her, only anger and the desire to take on vengeance.  Pulling herself out of the bed, she looked to the nightstand where her weapon rested.  Grabbing a hold of the weapon, she exited the room.

"Holy shit, Anastasia!" Taliya said as she eyeballed the charge bar for the Tesla Ark.  "Holy crap!  Holy crap!  We're almost there!" Taliya said over the intercomm system as another strike of lightning hit the ship.  Every strike of lightning caused the hairs on the back of Taliya's neck to stand on-end.

"Just wait for it, Taliya!  When it's full, take it in and open the cargo door.  I'm going to go in for the kill," Anastasia said.  This plan, thanks to Nao and Lynn, might work!  Perhaps electricuting this son of a bitch may be the way to defeating it.  Another strike of lightning struck the ship before the control console lit up for Taliya.  "We're ready to rock!" Taliya said on the global microphone, an intercomm system that is localized just for the entire ship; a form of public service address system that was made specifically for the ship - a design she wants to implement into the guild's ship one-day.

"Good!  Move us in!" Ana stated.

"Aye aye!" Taliya responded as she spoke to George, ordering him to move the ship in towards the metal monster.  A series of bleeps and bloops could be heard from the ship as it started to move forward towards the mecha.  The cargo door opened up for Anastasia as she ran her Dragon Armor out of the ship and ignited it's engines, allowing the mecha to fly.

The mecha she is to fight against was MUCH bigger in size when compared to Anastasia's, causing her to fly towards the metal giant.  As Anastasia and the Myrmidon made their move towards the Project Genocide, it's behavioral patterns began to change.  Instead of being passive and marching, it had stopped and removed a scythe from it's back and started to cleave at the ground.  The screams of the people within the city could be heard over Anastasia's heads up display, causing her to shudder and bite her lip in anger.

"What the hell is that, Ana?  It changed it's pattern!  I won't be able to get in range if it has that massive scythe!  I need you to--" Taliya stated as Anastasia responded.

"I know, I know, shut up!  I'll distract it and try to turn it's back.  Get in close enough to," Anastasia said as she bolted off into the direction of the large mech.  The sound of crackling could be heard; an indirect effect of the Tesla Ark was that it hampered communication as it held a charge.  The only thing allowing them to communicate was the proximity to the ship.

Anastasia zoomed foward towards the massive mecha, wielding the massive scythe.  A quickly swing of it's scythe in Anastasia's directly forced her to avoid the attack by making a quick movement upward.  The quick movement was made to avoid the horizontal, predictable slash of the mech.  As quickly as the first slash was made, it doubled back, swinging in a higher arch, forcing Anastasia to drop down this time.

Clearing her throat, she manipulated the hand-holds on her armor and extended both arms of the Dragon Fang weapon out towards the massive mecha, with both heads landing home on the body of the mecha.  However, as the fangs of the weapon were sent out, she was quite vulnerable.  Instead of letting the fangs reel in towards her, she moved in towards her Dragon Fangs.  While the Dragon Fangs were still in close proximity to the mech, she opened both of the Dragon Fangs and released extremely hot plasma onto the mech.  Without realizing what was happening, she saw a massive hand come towards her, swatting her and her mech down towards the ground.

The damage was extremely jarring, causing Anastasia and her mech to start tumbling.  The tumbling caused disorientation with Anastasia, making it difficult to tell the difference between up and down during the tumble.  "C'mon!  Recover!" she said before the armor found it's proper bearings and uprighted itself.  As the suit uprighted itself, the fangs reeled in only to look up to see another hand slowly coming down towards her.  Anastasia quickly avoided the hand by jetting to the side, only for the shaft of the scythe to smack her mech, causing her to tumble once again mid-air.  This time, however, Anastasia quickly recovered and flew back inside, getting out of range of the scythe's blade.

"Get a hold of yourself, Anastasia!  You're being thrown around like a ragdoll!" Taliya said in a broken manner over the radio.  Anastasia grit her teeth and responded, with her communication being broken up as well, "Shut up!  This thing isn't easy!" Anastasia responded as another bolt of lightning struck the Myrmidon.  She sucked air in between her teeth.  She has to do something before the Tesla Ark gets over-charged, which can be EXTREMELY bad for the ship.

    Notes

Long post is long.  I'm a bit worn out with waiting, so I'm going to be marathoning this job until completion.  With that said, I'm taking over Lynn's posts as well until she decides to return or if I finish this.  Whichever comes first.

Project Genocide releases the scythe, causing it to vanish into thin air.  In it's right hand, a blade is summoned.  An alert sounded in Anastasia's heads-up-display to warn her of the new weapon in the mech's hand.  Anastasia attempted to send out one of the dragon fangs to the hand of the weapon in order to disarm it, however, the speed of the mech had increased immensely, causing it to be aware of Anastasia's attack towards the weapon.  The blade is instantly returned towards Anastasia, bouncing off a barrier that she made.  The barrier instantly shattered from the extremely powerful weapon only for a follow-up attack to tear a massive gash into her armor's chest area, exposing the cockpit.  The massive gash destroyed all of Anastasia's heads up displays, now forcing Ana to rely on purely visual method of tracking and viewing.  Her side and rear view screens are, however, in tact.

"Crap!  Not good!" she said as she flew backwards, backing off of the mech.

"Stop screwing around Anastasia and turn that asshole around!" Taliya came in through the back-up communication device in her ear.  That last gash also destroyed the main communication console that she had to the ship.  "Shut up!  Shut up!  Geez!" Anastasia shouted out in annoyance as she flew towards the giant mech only to appear to vanish from sight.  However, the vanishing act was simply extremely quick movement to the massive robot's side.  This attracted the mech to quickly turn to the side.

"That's it!  Keep going!" Taliya shouted before Anastasia cleared her throat and went to enter the "Trans-Am" system only to see the main console being gone.  "Shit!" Anastasia shouted out.  An alarm came from her left side-camera as the blade of the mecha came swinging down towards Anastasia, being blocked by yet another barrier before shattering again.  Yet another follow-up attack was made.  Anastasia reacted once more only to have the leg of her mech severed off from barely avoiding the attack.  The severed limb flew away towards the Myrmidon, exploding near it.

Alarms started to ring out and the fire suppression system started to kick in to the mech, dousing out the fires created from the severed leg of the mech.  An idea came to Anastasia's mind as she remembered something.  She completely forgot to come into battle with the Fire Moth.  With a quick whistle, the Fire Moth appeared directly by Anastasia's side for a moment before flying off to attack the Mech wielding the sword.  Ana shot inward to strike at the mech and the Fire Moth flew in from behind to begin a two-pronged assault.  The Fire Moth changed position to urge the mecha to turn it's back to the ship.  This, however, worked in Anastasia's favor as the mech swung it's weapon towards the Fire Moth, turning it's body to where the majority of the mech's back is exposed.  In the process, however, the Fire Moth took a massive hit, causing a big explosion.

"Now, Taliya!"  Anastasia shouted out as Taliya nodded from within the Myrmidon.  "Aye, Captain!" she said before pulling the trigger on the Tesla Ark.  Anastasia looked towards the Myrmidon to see Kenta's younger sister standing on top of the Tesla Ark.  "What the hell is she doing awake?" Anastasia asked.

A monitor turned on in front of Taliya to see Yuka standing on the Tesla Ark just before firing.

"Abort firing! Abort firing!" Anastasia shouted out.  Taliya tried to pull back the firing of the Tesla Ark.  "Shit!  It's not working!"  She shouted as she tried to abort the firing of the weapon.  Rigging a defensive weapon to be used offensively had it's drawbacks.

Standing upon the Tesla Ark's "Horn", Yuka cleared her throat and grabbed her mace firmly in both hands.  "So, this is the monster that killed you, brother?  This thing took your soul and used it as fuel to power itself?  Using you as a battery?  Don't worry brother, I will set you free," Yuka stated as another bolt of lightning struck the horn of the Tesla Ark.

The sound of chopping air could be heard over Yuka as a spotlight shined down upon her.  A news crew could be seen hanging out of the chopper, reporting a story.

"BREAKING NEWS!  Coming to you from Motor City!  A massive robot attack has taken place here in Motor City!  An estimated 400 people have already died during the robot's rampage!" the reporter said over the radio, being sent to thousands of homes in Motor City and throughout all of Fiore.  The reporter said to another person in the helicopter.  "Get over here and get footage of this!" the female reporter said as the cameraman fired up his camera, placing it upon the massive mecha and turning the camera on.

"That's the large mecha terrorizing Motor City.  If you are currently in Motor City right now, stay in your homes.  If you have a basement, it is recommended that you stay in your basement!  Do not come out for any reason!  There's another mech fighting against the massive mech.  This was the same mech that had saved the capital on two different occurences!  It seems the hero mech has made a return," the reporter said before signalling to move the camera back to Yuka.

"What's this!  There's a girl standing on top of an airship, looking over the massive mech.  What is she---" the reporter said before the camera exploded, causing shards to fly out from the piece of equipment.  This caused massive burns upon the camera man's face and frightened the reporter.

"We lost our video feed, but we can still report this over the radio!  There seems to be a strange humming sound coming from the ship that that girl was standing on!  What's going on!?" the reporter asked.

The Myrmidon's Tesla Ark continued to hum for a moment, only for the humming to come to a stop.  As the Myrmidon drew closer to Project Genocide, a large bolt of lightning from the horn of the Tesla Ark shot out towards the mech.  The light was blinding.  As the bolt shot out from the horn of the Myrmidon, Yuka jumped towards Project Genocide, moved the head of her mace into the bolt of lightning and struck just moments after the bolt of lightning struck the massive mech.  The mace caused a loud 'bwong' noise as it struck the mech.

The bolt of electricity stunned Project Genocide.  Having seen Yuka begin to fall, Anastasia flared up her engines and started to fly towards her.  Yuka, on the other hand, struck at the massive giant once more, causing yet another massive 'bwong' sound to resonate from the mech.  Once she got out of range of the mech, she simply looked up at the mech and smiled.

"I did it, brother Kenta!  I did my part!  Now, let's leave it up to these mages to make a difference, okay!" she said before closing her eyes, allowing herself to fall.  The sound of thunder caused Yuka to open her eyes only to see a figure draped in red heading towards her.  Her eyes opened in awe as she reached out towards this red angel.  "Brother~" Yuka said before she fainted.

Anastasia flew over towards Yuka, the armor deciding to active Trans-Am by itself, accelerating the armor's movements and strength, leaving behind a bright red particle behind it.  Catching Yuka in her mecha's hands, she closed the hands to basically imprison her within the mech's hands.

"Holy crap!  That girl that you all saw standing on top of the ship jumped off of the ship and used the power of thunder to strike at the massive enemy mecha!  It was unbelievable, folks!  The pure power and determination to destroy that monstrosity!  She was saved by what appeared to be a red-winged angel; the smaller mecha that was attacking the bigger mecha.  After rescuing the girl, the smaller mecha has returned to fighting the larger mecha!  We aren't going to a commercial break folks, not until this has been resolved so stay tuned!" the reporter said.

Anastasia turned her mech to look up towards the helicopter.  "Hey, get out of the way.  That thing has powerful weapons!" Anastasia said to the reporter's helicopter only to see them not move.  Sucking air in through her teeth, Anastasia opened up the cockpit of her mecha and opened it's hand.  She moved out of the cockpit to grab Yuka and bring her inside.  Afterward, she closed what's left of the hatch and looked towards the downed robot.

"Nao!  Lynn!  It's not destroyed!  We have to keep hitting it!  Taliya, prepare for another charge!" Anastasia said before communications came in.  "Holy crap!  Discharging the Tesla Ark knocked down communication.  But sure, I'll begin--" Taliya said before a massive BOOM could be heard.  The horn of the Tesla Ark exploded, knocking the ship off course.

"No can do, Cap'n!  The Horn's busted" Taliya stated.  "Shit!  Well, bring Nao over here!  I need back-up!"

Long post is long.  I'm a bit worn out with waiting, so I'm going to be marathoning this job until completion.  With that said, I'm taking over Lynn's posts as well until she decides to return or if I finish this.  Whichever comes first.

With that being said, feel free to post whenever you want.

One with the Force, the Force is with me…

Thunder and lightning cracked the sky with its electrifying whips, sending shocks down to the earth and onto the ship. It would continue charging up their Tesla Ark, enslaving its fury into the ship for the disturbed sleep they caused. But the ship was really the master in all this. They had harnessed natures power with technology and magic combined. Magi technology was going to be the legacy of their team, whether they knew it or not.

Nao walked back into the ship from the balcony, absorbing the water that had dripped onto him from the rain above them. He would be dry within minutes, and not look like he had just met Thor and angered him. Instead he looked pretty refreshed and really happy that he was able to contribute just a little bit to the group before they tried fighting a giant mechanised terror that was able to crush and absorb people to fuel it…

Nao thought about all the moves he could do to try and beat the creature, but metal verses water wasn’t a strong fight. If the creature was made of something like say… stainless steel? That would be a real difficult job getting through it. But water could be pressurised to cut through anything, so with a little time and a few bindings here and there he could cut up the mech.

Nao felt his sickness and nausea rise as the ship began to move, causing him to fall over and roll onto the floor. His stomach was swish around and he would realise that if he didn’t get off the ship soon then he would start to feel even worse, and then how would he even fight against the robot? But… the feeling in his stomach was too much. He had better go and find a balcony that Lynn wasn’t on.

Nao would run to the other side of the ship and begin to let out brine from his stomach, feeling the sickness clear from him. He would wipe his face and see that Ana had flown off to go fight the mech by herself. Eyes widened at the shock that she would go off without the rest of them and fight such a giant creature all by herself.

Looking around and thinking about what to do with Ana going off by herself, Nao had an idea. He hadn’t tried this before but he remembered his teachings by the leviathan on how to control his magic even more. By consuming enough water he would be able to push his magic to the strongest it could get to. He just needed a little bit of help getting there.

”Charlie! I need you here now!” he called out to the creature, who would fly down from the sky and down to where Nao was. Nao could only smile as he saw his gryphon fly down to him to assist him. ”Charlie I need you to do me a big big favour.”

Nao had a plan up his sleeve, as he pointed to Charlie’s lacrima that controlled the element that he used. If he planned this correctly, then Charlie still had all of his spells he could use. It was about four different spells plus all the wing strikes infused with the element. He could change it to water, and Nao could absorb the water that was created and then use it to overdrive his own magic.

”Okay Charlie I need you to trust me on this one, but I need you to use all your water spells on me. Don’t ask me why I want you to attack me, just do it and I’ll show you. Ana has already gone alone to fight the robot and I need to get there as quick as possible to help her fight this creature. So what I need you to do is just attack me with all your spells. Make sure they’re water based so that they won’t be as bad. It won’t work if they’re lightning or water.”

Charlie would comply, changing his lacrima to water before firing off the Regal Storm, the Aeroblast, the Great Gryphon Gale, and the Gale Guard all at Nao. These massive water attacks would quickly be absorbed by Nao, storing them as this hug magic buff.

He would feel invigorated, but not quite there to push him over the top. No he really needed more than just what Charlie has. He would just sigh and think of something quickly.

”I guess I had burned out a lot of my magic on the storm huh? No problem I’ve got a bottle of water in my pocket dimension,” Nao remarked as he summoned a bottle of water from his vest and then consumed it with quick haste.

Nao would then begin to feel the effects of the magic rushing through him and changing everything about him. Firslty he felt his physical mass grow a little bit, and then he felt the scales rise on his body. He would feel this magic surge around his body and make him feel ready to take on anything.

”Right then Charlie, lets go help out Ana. She’s probably finished off the robot by herself by now, but we can’t let her have all the fun just in case.”

He smiled with confidence and jumped onto Charlie, before flying off towards the fight. The giant mech had somehow gained a scythe and was beginning to attack the city. Ana was already engaging with the creature with her mech powers. Though it didn’t seem like she was doing too well with her attacks. She was getting battered pretty hard from what he could see.

In fact he could hear Ana and Taliya communicating poorly on how to deal with the being of incredible power. She wasn’t going to be able to hold out against the robot with much effect at all. Instead Nao would have to fly in quicker with Charlie. He could see even the girl, Yuka doing her part. And here he was gorging on water magic.

The robot looked like it was down for the count, but it seemed that it was just a flesh (errr… metallic plate?) wound, and it would get back up and proceed to attack the group and the city again. It looked like it would take a couple of attacks to really break it.

”I’m here, I’m here!” he bellowed out, dropping to the floor and letting Charlie leave to recharge. ”Let me have a crack at this.”

His watery tail became hardened in viscosity, waving around ths back of him, before launching him forward at the mech that towered over him. It was like playing a video game where he would have to climb the robot and get up there close and personal.

He would make a giant pool of water at the feet of the mech, and would start by creating a bottle of tonic water and throwing it for Ana.

”Ana! You’ll need to regain your strength!” he called out as he continued to run at the mech, who had finally noticed the pip squeak on the floor, and would proceed to try and step on him. Nao would have to slide out the water on the water, dodging one of the feet but tripping slightly in the after shock.

He would roll around on the floor, before picking himself up and striking at the foot with his watery tail. He would then summon a foggy ether around him, followed by a watery prison to try and get water inside it. He would swim around, causing the fog and prison to follow him.

”I need a cut in the robot. Water damage can’t work too well against electrics unless there is some kind of openi-“ Before he could finish his sentence the robot swept him up with an attack, sending him up into the air. He would begn rising up into the sky, seeing that Ana was nearby he would grant her a bit of magic power, before realising he was going to fall.

”A-Ana? B-buddyquip please?!” he called as he began to descent from the sky and back towards the ground. Unfortunately at the height we could fall, even landing in water had the chance of killing him. Hopefully Ana had heard him and would rescue him, or else he would become a a nice viscous pile of dead Nao.

    Just Wild Beat
    Communication

Nao had summoned a bottle of water from his hand and threw it towards Ana.  Anastasia maneuvered her mech to where she could just open what's left of the hatch and catch it while in the hatch.  Closing what's remaining of the door, Anastasia noticed Nao start to attack the large vessel.  Clearing her throat, she placed the bottle out of harm's way.  It was her suit that was taking damage, not her physical body. But holding onto it just in case isn't a problem.  Better safe than never.  Ana turned her head to look towards Yuka, who had fallen unconscious before catching her; the site of the red particles must have been too much for her.

Parts of her suit started to twitch.  Red alerts began to ring loudly in the cockpit, surprised that Yuka could sleep through all of this.  Sucking air between her teeth, she saw the damage of her mech starting to rack up with red-spots throughout most of her mech and black spots on parts of the mech that were destroyed.  A quick swipe was made towards Nao as he was sent forward.  With a single snap of her fingers, a bright white light surrounded Nao, covering him in a fabulous pink armor known simply as "Pixie Armor".  While it would look funny being on Nao, at the very least, he would look fabulous while flying around freely.

After it took a swipe at Nao, all the damage that Anastasia and the Fire Moth was able to perform on it was for naught as it began to heal it's wounds and put up a barrier around it.  Clearing her throat, Ana shouted.  "Why!  You're already hard enough to fight and you have regeneration!  Fuck!" she shouted out in frustration before grabbing a firm hold of her armor's sticks and propelled herself towards the massive armor.  This suit was much larger than Ana's mech, which was actually a pretty good sized mech to begin with; however, to fight against a skyscraper sized mech was something she had never done before.  Normally, the mechs she encounters are about the same size as hers; roughly 15 meters tall.  However, a monster like this isn't something her mech is capable of handling.

"I heard you needed a hole made?" Taliya said as she stood at the front of the Myrmidon.  Her hair getting patted down by the rain.  "Drop the rain and I'll make a hole for you, Nao-nao!" Taliya said as she raised her hand up into the air, as if to grab the sun.  Being a creature of the sun, she thrives off of it's power and having cloud-cover isn't something something that helps her cause.  Taliya raised both hands into the air, raised her head to feel the rain upon her face.  It was, as if, she was praising the sun.

Anastasia looked towards Taliya for a moment before looking towards Nao.  A grin came across Anastasia's lips as she knew exactly what Taliya wanted to do.  Nodding her head, she cleared her throat and propelled her suit forward and slammed the Dragon Fangs into the heart of the mech, causing the Dragon Fangs to soften up the armor, denting it to give Taliya a bit of a head-start in crushing the armor.  After a couple of strikes, the mech swung it's blade towards Anastasia, causing her to block it with a barrier, only for the blade to bounce off of the barrier and causing it to shatter.  The mech then swung again only for Anastasia to turn her body towards the attack and sent out a projected barrier, shattering it and protecting herself from damage.

As her back was turned, a firm punch was delivered to the back of Ana's mech, causing her already alarming red-alerts to go off. The armor was nearly at it's limit.  Sucking air in between her teeth, Anastasia turned back towards the mech only to see the agile blade coming back towards her.  Having only a little bit of time to react, Anastasia tried to move out of the way only for the blade to catch her mech and the hips and cleave clean through the armor, liberating the lower-half of the mech from the main core.

The alarms rang extremely loud within the cockpit and the words "Imminent Destruction" was stated everywhere on all of the screens.  The legs of the mech flew in the opposite direction, exploding moments later.  Anastasia cleared her throat and rummaged through the damaged cockpit and grabbed a hold of Yuka before what remained of the suit crashed into the ground.

Yuka's Flashback wrote:"Big brother, Kenta~~" a young Yuka shouted out as Kenta walked with his back turned to Yuka.  Yuka was following Kenta along a river.  The duo were very young, about 8 years old.  Kenta turned to look towards Yuka with a big smile on his face.  "It feels good getting out of the house, doesn't it, Yuka?" Kenta said with a big nod.  With a stop, the young Kenta walked up to Yuka as she followed and gave her a big hug.

Confused at what was going on, Yuka returned the hug.  "I love you, big brother~" Yuka said lovingly to her brother.  Kenta nodded his head.  "I love you too, Yuka.  And I'll always be here to protect my little sister," Kenta said.

"I won't let any more bad people get a hold of you," Kenta said as he released Yuka from his grip.  "That means you and I need to get stronger!  So that won't ever happen again, alright?  And when we get stronger, you and I will bring justice to big bad people like that!" Kenta said in excitement as he pumped his fist.

"Yeah, we'll get strong and become heroes so there won't be any more people crying~" Yuka responded only for Kenta to hug her once more.  "I'll be sure to protect you, Yuka."  Kenta said.  "And I'll protect you too, big brother~"
Yuka stirred awake in the rubble of the crashed mech only to see Anastasia bleeding profusely from her scalp and a bleeding wound coming from underneath her.  Out of a panic, Yuka turned Anastasia over to see a hole in her back where a 3 inch rod impaled her into her rib cage.  Covering her mouth, Yuka looked around and yelled for help.  After a moment of yelling, she noticed the giant monster, the Genocide Project, still standing.

"You!  You did this!  You've taken my brother and you took this woman trying to save me!" she said before reaching for her mace, which sat conveniently next to Nao's water-bottle that was handed to Anastasia.  If only Yuka knew what the bottle was for, she would have done something; however, Yuka instantly assumed Anastasia for dead.  Grabbing her mace, she crawled out of the rubble and ran towards the Project Genesis with anger fueling her thoughts of vengeance.

Is there a doctor in the house?

Trying to swim in the air wasn’t working. His arms flapped around the place as if they were trying to grab onto invisible ledges or ropes- something that would keep him from falling to his early grave. Whilst depending on the water to help him (albeit his tail could have caught his fall and saved him from falling to his death), he still reached out for help from Ana.

She returned the favour, saving him with one of her latest and greatest inventions in terms of mechanised bodysuit technology. It just happened to be so…

”Pink? Ana why do you have a pink mech?!” Nao called out, just hovering in the air. ”And it has a skirt? Why does it have a skirt?! This isn’t tactically savy when it comes to protection!” He would leave the critiquing to later as he saw the mech healed back all the health it had been dealt, and creating a shield.

Ah it even heals too? They really made something that was designed well unlike all the robots we fought before… Nao shuddered at the thought of having to constantly fight this mech as it healed again and again. He wouldn’t have dragon force for all that long so he needed to use it all up as quickly as possible and defeat this mechanised monstrosity that was going to be a real slog to fight.

Nao looked around, trying to think of what to do with the situation. He couldn’t even make a dent in the armour. He couldn’t rust the outside, and his nitro-glycerine attack would do nothing against the hardened exoskeleton that the mech had been built with. What kind of money and lives were used to build such a thing? All he knew was that Kenta’s life would be repaid with the death of the beings that took it from him.

Nao heard his voice being called out to by Taliya, who was at the front of the ship. She mentioned the rain pouring down and how it needs to go, before he realised that yeah it was probably a bad idea to have the rain.

”Oh! Sure yeah no problem!” Nao said, turning off the water works and directing them away from Taliya. The clouds would slowly disappear, letting Taliya would be able to gain the power of the solar power to her advantage. It was probably a bit annoying that her magic was counteracted by one of her own team mates.

Ana decided to be a distraction against the giant mech, softening the barriers it had created before it started to get the advantage. For a big creature it was still really fast with its hits. The mech’s blade hit the barrier Ana created, before going for the sucker punch while her back was turned, and then finally taking out the armour with one more clean slash.

Nao’s eyes widened as he saw Ana and the debris falling from the sky. He swiftly flew down with the Pixie Armour still around him. He would be fuming with hate from what the mech had done to her. It wasn’t going to take another life away from them. No he wouldn’t let that happen.

”Ana! ANA!” he called out as he got closer and closer to the debris, seeing the smoke and fire rising. He felt a cold shiver run through his body as he saw the impact site in sight. He wasn’t too sure where Taliya was, but he could see the mech was trying to swot something off of it like an annoying fly was there. Well.. maybe fly wasn’t the right word in this case.

He found the crash site and landed, running over to the smoke and finding Ana lying there impaled by a faily large rod. He covered his mouth in shock, and looked around to see if there was a way to remove it.

Instead all he saw was Yuka running half way to the mech. He would shake his head, and assist her by firing a Gyser from underneath the mech.

It would erupt under the mechs feet, and make it fall over onto the floor, giving Yuka and Taliya some time to attack it while it was prone. It would have to be all he could do for now. He needed to make sure Ana was okay.

He turned back to Ana and grabbed the tonic water. He would have to force out the rod that was in her body without causing even more bleeding. He would have to be clever and think of something to make her stable. Maybe he could somehow surgically remove it? But how…

He would first start by slicing the ends off of it with his water dragon slicer move. They would fall off the main pole, leaving just a smaller bit left.

Yeah but what did that actually accomplish? Nao asked himself as he thought about what he could do next. Maybe I could just force the item out of her? That somehow felt weird to think about, but it was the only way he could really describe the giant object impaling her.

He would decide to rupture it, using the residue to break it down and force out the debris that could have been caused by all the breaking of the metallic pole. He would have to use his steam magic to heal up the wound and clean it, before using his water dragons sear in a drippling state so not to really hurt the poor girl, but to make sure that she didn’t bleed… at least externally.

”Okay then, drink up” he said as he opened Ana’s mouth and force fed the tonic to her. But he realised that Ana would be useless without her armour since Nao had selfishly asked for one of her armours.

”So what do we do with you?’ he asked, before realising what he could do, and smiling about it. He hadn’t tried this before, and Nao wasn’t too sure if he could even do it.

Remembering what the armour looked like, and how Ana had created it, Nao would make her recently destroyed mech suit with his clone spell, and throw Ana into it. Hopefully she would have just thought she had blacked out and she would be fine.

Nao just smiled and walked away, leaving the unconscious Ana in the pilot seat as he went to go fight the robot. His brown eyes looked towards where the fighting would be, before flying off to go help the group with their mech problem. Ana could catch up at some point after all. They had the opportunity to make a dent in the armour.

Anastasia remained unconscious as Nao began his surgical work to remove the rod.  Pain was evident on Anastasia's face as her eyes expressed the pain, even though her conscious mind wasn't awakened.  The searing hot water dripped into the wound after the rod was ruptured by Nao's water magic.  The searing water cauterized Anastasia's wound before she was force-fed the water that she had saved from Nao earlier.  The water found it's way into her gut, feeling healing run through her body.  Even after drinking the water, she remained unconscious; the only thing the water did was remove the danger of her death.

Being thrown into a faux version of her armor, she laid in the mech that Nao had recreated.  Her heartbeat because audible to herself before tremendous pain racked her body, causing her to awaken with a loud scream.  In a cold sweat, Anastasia looked around to notice the mech she was in was in pristine condition.  "What happened?" she said looking around the cockpit; it being good as new once again.  The cameras in the cockpit worked properly, showing the monstrous mech laying flat on it's back with Yuka striking at the mech mercilessly, trying to pierce it's armor.  The weather had cleared up, showing nothing but the bright sun.

Reaching for the controls of the mech, Anastasia felt an intense pain in her back, crying out in pain from it.  "What the hell?" she asked to herself before she began to flip on the switches to power up the new mech that was given to her.  She looked around to notice the bottle of water she had saved having gone somewhere.  It finally occurred to her that she was alone in the cockpit.  "Yuka!" she said as she finished her pre-flight arrangements and powered up the suit.

Yuka continued to pound away at the mech only for a massive hand to swat Yuka off of it before getting jolted by a powerful attack from a ball of fire.  Taliya continued to press herself against the mech, allowing the fire of the sun to burn into the mech's body to weaken it's armor.  "Ana!  The Key!" Taliya said before, she too, was swatted off of the mech.  The mech began to stand up before it clicked in her head what Taliya meant by 'the key'.  The Invincible Key was a gift given to her by her father as a means of protection.  Rummaging through the tattered clothing, she pulled out a single key with a fist as it's emblem.  Raising the key in the air, a bald man appeared, picking his nose.

The bald-headed man looked up at the Mecha with a blank face and turned to look towards Anastasia and pointed at it, mainly to it's chest piece that was burning red.  "Yeah!  Please attack that!" Ana shouted out before the bald, disinterested man sighed and disappeared for a brief moment only to appear just in front of the massive Mech and deliver a single punch to the robot.  This caused the super-heated spot on the mech to shatter with a massive exit wound from behind, completely destroying the entire back part of the mech's armor.

The yellow-clad baldy landed on his feet and yawned before vanishing into thin-air.  Anastasia had blood run out of her mouth as she nodded to the yellow-clad baldy for his work.  "There's your hole, Nao!  Go for it!" she shouted out before Anastasia took a deep breath and shouted something at Nao, "Mul Qah Diiv!" she said as the shout enveloped Nao, powering him up.  His heartbeat started to race and he could feel adrenaline pumping through his veins at an almost unhealthy rate.  With that Dragon Howl activated on Nao, Ana falls to a knee in the mech as she began to fall in and out of consciousness.  Taliya and Yuka, too, were unconscious from being swatted away.  The only person left that could fight was Nao.  It's up to him to completely defeat this monstrous creature and bring an end to this nightmare.

Post by Nao 8th January 2017, 11:08 am

    The end of the storm.

Surprisingly it didn’t take Ana too long to wake up from the fight. Yuka had lugged her giant mace onto the mech and began to pound away at the carapace surrounding the electrics and blood that the monster before them required to function. Its programming was still stunned at the fact that it was on the floor by just a small spirt of a gyser. Taliya too had taken the advantage of using the floored robot was a punching bag. They were going to take a little while anyway so it was good that the mech wasn’t too sure what to do with itself.

Nao was flying over to the mech slowly, waiting for the time that he would be able to get into the suit and flood the body with water. His brown eyes looked over the torso and tried working out where he would be able to make the most damage. They had gotten this far but they were surely not going to be able to win by punches alone.

His eyes opened wide when he saw the twitches of the arms begin to move on the mech, as the servos started working once more. He was about to try and utter a shout at the group to get away from the being in front of them. But it was really too late at this point. They wouldn’t be able to get off it before being hit.

The Dragon Slayer watched Yuka first get knocked off it, the mace flying away from her frai little body. He would try and go rescue her before stopping and realising Taliya knew Ana was awake. Mentioning a key to her, Nao turned around to see Ana flying in her newly powered flight suit of her own creation (mimicked by Nao of course). He would give a short wave and a smile before hearing the impact of the mech hitting Taliya and being swat away from it.

It was too late to go check on how the two of them were doing now that they had been knocked off and the mech had began to stand up. Its body was red with heat from where Taliya had used the power of the literal sun to actually fight against it. But it was probably a good time to bring on the storm now that they were almost there.

Ana must have realised what Taliya said because as soon as the companion hit the floor after being turned into a fly for this mech, a poof of smoke appeared and a bald and unimpressionable man appeared.

This caused Nao to… reel his head back to Ana in confusion as she just seemed to summon some loser from her mech. He didn’t even seem to know what to do as he silently pointed at the giant mech who was making his way at them with a giant scythe. He didn’t need a normal guy around he needed a miracle.

He was guided by Ana to attack the chest, as he disappeared from view. Nao’s eyes widened as he quickly turned his head to see that the yellow clothed man was right in front of the mech. He delivered a punch to the red area of the robot, causing the back of the carapaced torso to shatter and break apart. He would then land, yawn and disappear in the same manner that he appeared.

”W-what… what the hell just happened?” the mage called out loudly, watching the mech take steps back as sirens and warnings blasted the sky about danger. Calculations were running through the robotic enemy, trying to work out how to patch up something that designed not to break. It was obviously failing as it became suddenly self aware with the fact that it was now fully exposed at the back as was constantly trying to cover its weakness from the two pilots in front of it.

Ana cheered Nao on for the hole before shouting something in some strange language. Maybe it was the language of Samoa? He wasn’t entirely sure what it was but he started feeling more energised and determined to take down this robot. He didn’t even really notice that Ana had gone unconscious again, or that the suit he was in broke and he was just now in his completely watery state. Despite having the scales in this form, they really didn’t do all that much to protect him in this form.

He smirked before realising what he could do in this form. Taking the moment to take a breath of water as the rains began to return to the battlefield. The mists and needle rains formed around Nao as he charged the giant mech that was running at him with the scythe. It was kind of pathetic at this point as he knew that the robot in front of him was going to try and finish this quick.

A large swing came at him, as he turned into a puddle and moved forward before reforming and returning to running at the giant metallic beast. It was just swing after swing that he would puddle into as he got closer.

It was then at that point the robot tried to stomp on him, stopping him from reforming straight away. Instead the Dragon Slayer would just slowly slide up the structure, swimming around the form of the enemy and appearing behind him

”Sorry buddy, but I guess you’ll just need a moment to cool down. Don’t worry, but I got you covered.” Nao was being over confident at this point, even trying to do stupid jokes as he knew that once he was in side the being it would be fine. Or at least that’s what he thought.

Water and electricity did not mix too well at the touch, as Nao would find as he climbed into the robot in his liquid form and promptly felt the shocks of electricity fighting against him. He winced through it as he rushed up and down the limbs of the creature, trying to work out where to go. He could see the mechanisms and servos kicking into overdrive to protect the mech from being shorted out. He could tell that it was moving around, trying to fulfil its goal of taking over and ruining Motor City. The movements felt slow as he swished around the legs, trying to break off the part to stop it moving. But it looked like they were going way too fast to actually stop and were actually sucking him into them.

Fighting the pull, Nao would use it to swing around the leg and fire himself back up to the top of the mech, stopping at the torso to see that it had already moved a food few hundred yards away from where they were before. He could see the wreckage and the suit Ana was in on the floor. He would frown and begin to climb up to the top where the head was.

He would ignore the pain for the time being, focusing on reaching the head and taking a look. He could see the core of the head, along with a giant swirl of red haze inside. It must have been the remains of Kenta inside there. He shook his head and began to attack the core, finding that his attacks would bounce off from the plating.

He decided to use a small water attack filled with nitro-glycerine, coating the core of the mech’s brain in an explosive liquid. Then he would roar as loud as he could, firing large bubbles against the plated core and causing the whole head to explode. It would create a large blast, sending the liquid Nao flying from the mech and onto the floor into one giant puddle. The robot itself would go to reach for its now missing head, finding there was no control system, and promptly shutting down.

It would fall forwards, sparks flying everywhere from its now headless shoulder and back panels. It was definitely not coming back from after this fight. No it was surely defeated now.

Nao reformed back into his normal form, and felt the magic run out of his body. It looked like he had used up all the power that the Leviathan had given him to use. What a shame it was.

”Ah shit now I’m out of magic,” he sighed as he felt the sparks running through his now completely fleshy body. ”I guess this is what it is like to be just completely normal.” He tried to cast a water bolt and failed, realising that was all gone.

”I hope I still have my time magic,” he muttered, using it to rewind some of the shocking damage he had. ”Well at least that works… but I guess I’m no longer a slayer? Good… I think I could… do with… the rest.”

Nao would lie on his back and go for a snooze as the rains stopped, and the sunlight would return to their world. The citizens would be free of this menace, and the news reporters would have a huge story to tell on this. On how the group fought a giant mech and survived against some of the strongest attacks they had ever faced. How a Dragon Slayer used up his entire powers and lost them. How a technological genius was able to speak multiple languages and give others the power of flght in the form of a tiny pixie suit. But what about the mastermind behind the giant robot that was threatening their who existence? Who really knew.

Revenge is not worthy of you. If you concentrate on revenge, you will keep those wounds fresh that would otherwise have healed.
    - Adeline Yen Mah

Fading in and out of consciousness allowed Anastasia to see glimpses of Nao putting a number into the goliath of a monster.  He tore into the electronics and caused complete havoc on the electronic components within the creature.  Things started to fade in and out of black (not in that manner) as Anastasia came in and out of consciousness.  Anastasia completely lost consciousness upon seeing Project Genesis finally kick the bucket.

The sound of chopping could be heard in the skies above the unconscious heroes.  A woman could be seen hanging out of the helicopter and speaking into a microphone.  A new camera was brought to the scene to capture the death of Project Genesis.  The cameraman recorded video of the downed giant and the downed mecha.  The reporters panned around to find the girl that was standing upon the horn of the now damaged SS Myrmidon.  The camera panned over to the downed replica of the Dragon Armor, then to Taliya, then to the downed pilot of the Pixie Armor, then back to the Project Genesis.

"Where the hell is that little girl from earlier?  The one with the big mace," the reporter said, forgetting they were still live on-air.  The cameraman didn't respond.  The reporter paused for a moment before going off on a speech to the camera as the cameraman recorded the wreckage.

The sound of dull thunks could be heard as a person walked through the front of the Titan Corporation's main entrance.  A massive hole was smashed into the steel curtain blocking off entrance to and from the main entrance.  A trail of blood is seen going through the main entrance of the facility and down a hallway.  Heavy breathing could be heard with heavy footfalls as the same route was taken from the crew earlier.  Dead bodies were left in the person's wake as they found themselves in the hangar.

The woman that escorted the group could be found, sitting in the middle of the hangar with a look of defeat in her eyes.  Her glasses were cracked and her hair was disheveled.  A little, uncomfortable laugh came from the woman as she noticed Yuka approaching her, with her mace covered in gore and blood.  The blood from the mace dripped down to the ground just in front of the woman.

"So, you're finally here to kill me for what I've done, huh?" the woman said as she stood up, readjusting her skirt and glasses.  "I cannot blame you, little girl, for wanting to seek vengeance upon me and Titan Corporation for what happened to your brother.  We had designed Project Genesis to use a human soul to house a creature of massive power; the power to slay gods and demons alike.  A way to put the non-magic users on level footing with the oppressive magic users," she said as she turned her face skyward to feel the sun upon her face.  The morning sun felt good, causing  a small smile to form.

"It was nothing personal, I assure you.  But before you kill me, I would like to show you something," the woman said as she pulled an object out of her skirt and clicked a button.  Alarms rang throughout the hangar to display yet another Project Genesis robot.  "If you wish to exact your revenge on me, feed my soul to that thing.  That way, the helpless has a beacon of hope against you magic users.  For too long have you magic users destroyed our homes and killed our children.  Playing their antics off as funny or quirky for the massive amount of devastation done to our people.  At least with this," she said as she pointed to a mech labeled Project Genesis:  Test Type mk.2 written on it.

She turned her eyes back to Yuka, whose face was covered in blood.  A ravenous and primordial look upon her face.  Her eyes tracking every move made by the older woman that worked for Titan Corporation.  "If you wish to see me die, then feed my soul to the Mark 2," she said as she closed her eyes and spread her arms out, welcoming her death.

"No.  I will not give you that satisfaction," Yuka said as the woman opened her eyes in shock.  Yuka grabbed the woman by her hair, kicked her in her stomach to cause her to double over and began to drag her out of the hangar, running her through the dirt and blood that covered the floor.  The woman kicked and screamed in horror as she was dragged out of the hangar before a couple of quick thuds could be heard, along with the sound of cracking bones and sick squishing noises.

The sound of the helicopters vanished over top of the wreckage of Project Genesis and the downed heroes.  Standing in front of the downed mecha was Yuka.  Yuka placed a hand upon the mecha and started to speak to it.  "Brother, I have avenged your death.  The people who had done this to you are no longer here.  I know that would cause you pain if you were still alive, but I feel it had to be done," she said as she looked towards Nao, Taliya, and Anastasia who were still out for the count for the moment.

"Don't worry, brother, I don't blame these people.  They thought they were doing the right thing.  They also tried to save you as well, so they tried their best to keep us both alive.  It was destiny that screwed us over," she said as tears began to well up in her eyes.  Her voice began to quake as she spoke.  She dropped her mace and fell to her knees before letting out a loud cry.  "Brother!  I'm sorry!  I wasn't strong enough to protect you!" Yuka shouted out.

Her screams were enough to bring Anastasia and Taliya back from their state of unconsciousness.  Taliya stood sat up and Anastasia opened up the cockpit of the Dragon Armor and rolled out of it, letting the mecha vanish into pure white light.  Both of their eyes trained onto Yuka as she started to cry in mournful sorrow and regret.  Standing up to her feet, Taliya attempted to go over to Yuka to comfort her only to be stopped by Anastasia shaking her head.  This stopped Taliya's advance, realizing that all Yuka needed now was time to mourn.

A cleaning crew began to roll up and start the process of dismantling the Project Genesis.  The voice of the mayor could be heard over the radio for those listening in at home.

We, the citizens of Motor City had undergone a tragedy.
Titan Corporation was responsible for the creation of a new mobile weapon
called "Project Genesis".  This abomination takes the souls of a person to
power the mech and allowed it to go on a rampage.  However, with the
heroics of 3 women and a single man, they were able to take down the
steel giant and bring about peace, once more, to our city.
This peace, however, came at the cost of 5.7 million jewels of property
damage and the cost of 47 lives.  We will not forget about what happened
this day.  The Titan Corporation had been executed by an unknown assailant
who is still out at large.  We have investigators looking into the deaths
of the Titan Corporation employees.  But as of this moment, Titan Corporation
has been shut down and will not operate within Motor City walls.
A memorial will be held for those that lost their lives in today's tragedy...

The voice of the mayor said as his voice trailed off into nothingness.

    The Next Day...
Anastasia was dressed in a black dress with a veil over her face to cover up the injuries she incurred from the battle yesterday.  For the first time, Taliya, too, had worn some actual clothing; wearing a black dress with a black veil over her tail.  The funeral services was to commence and the person who actually lost someone wasn't here.  Anastasia looked around to try to find Yuka, but to no avail.

Post by Nao 9th January 2017, 4:30 pm

    A shadow of oneself…

Nao’s hearing began to dull as the powers from his magic faded from him. HE couldn’t hear as clearly as he then had to listen carefully from a distance what Yuka was saying to another figure. He recognised the voice from earlier, realising it was the lady who had given them the tour of the building. He would try and move but after all the electrical damage that he took from his whole body he kind of lost the ability to really move for a little bit. Every movement he made would sent jarring jolts down him.

He would just lie there and wait for assistance. Assistance was bound to come at some point right? He wouldn’t just be left there to be picked off by the robotic wolves that plagued Motor City after an accidental release of them. They surely wouldn’t get to him and pick him piece by piece into oblivion. If he could just keep his torso he would be happy. Losing the lower half wouldn’t be so bad. He could be able to sit around all day, or just fly around on Charlie.

    Speaking of Charlie…

”Charlie? Charlie?!” Nao tried to call out weakly, trying to look for his gryphon who had left him to recharge. But hopefully he would hear his call from afar, even without his slayer magic. The weak voice would grow quieter and quieter before he coughed out the last of his voice. He was now all helpless. He was alone and he couldn’t think of a way to signal he was still okay.

He heard screams off in the distance, and helicopters would begin to leave the scene. They would completely ignore the body of Nao on the floor and just fly over with their scoop. A mech destroyed, a mastermind pummelled by a little girl. And in return Nao would be left there without much help at all. He would just have to lie there and drift into a deep sleep.

His dream would be an odd one. For some reason he wasn’t all be himself. In fact, there were multiple people there and they all looked like him. Even a couple of them looked like they could be long lost sisters, or little brothers, or even little sisters! He was a little perplexed why he was seeing this dream, but for some reason he was feeling like this was his home. That he was actually where he was meant to be in this dream.

He could see a lab full of other people just like him, all working for a common goal and a giant head inside a test tube like shell. It seemed electronic but also so almighty and powerful.

Nao would wake up as an airship would hoist him up with its grabbed and pull him up to the ship dock to treat him after all the fighting they had done. He was weak, malnourished, exhausted and full of thousands of volts of electricity waiting to go through an earth wire. Being made of water for a while certainly didn’t help with the whole “being shocked by a giant mech with servos and other electric parts.”

It would take a day of recovery to return to a passable state. Just in time for the funeral that would be carried out for the many that died that day for the glory of Motor City. Nao would be there, still slightly blackened and frizzled by all the electricity that had gone through his body while there. He would be holding a plastic cane to help him walk, and would try and avoid brushing past people in case he would accidentally shock them with static electricity.

He would slowly limp towards the rest of his team, seeing Ana and Taliya somehow despite both of them being fully clothed. He was wearing a black suit with a dark coloured tie. His eyes were dull and tired, and his face was slightly charred and burned after all the fighting the day before.

”I haven’t seen Yuka yet. Maybe she just disappeared after doing whatever she did to the lady… I err… overheard a little bit of the talking and I remember hearing screams before blacking out.” He looked around and noticed the place was full of people. ”I guess people here, despite a huge amount of technological competition, have a sense of community and belonging to each other.”

Nao noticed people were turning, and looking down as he could see mechs were carrying the coffins of the people. Four robots would carry each coffin of the people who died in the fight against the giant mechanised enemy they fought against. There were loudspeakers on all the robots playing the preceding march theme of Motor City. Lots of clashes and bangs and a hint of steampunk jazz being played as they walked past everyone.

Nao noticed that Kenta’s coffin would have the weapon that he took, and would be plated in Rune Knight markings. It looked like in his post mortem that he was made a Rune Knight for his service for Fiore. Nao couldn’t help but smile, feeling a shock run though his body.

”Ow!” he murmured to himself before turning to his team. ”It looks like Kenta finally got to become a Rune Knight. I’m glad he managed to get his dream finally realised. Hopefully the Rune Knights would forever continue after his service to them. I mean it would be a real shame if they were disbanded or removed after all his hard work trying to become one. I think it would be a real problem for his spirit, and even Yuka’s mentality after trying so hard to get there.”

” Actually where is Yuka? The service is about to start and I have not even seen her around yet. I’m a little perplexed on why she hasn’t turned up to her brother’s own funeral.”

The bodies were lined up in a line, as was customary to the Motor City. They liked having lines of production, so why not lines of deconstruction. After all it wasn’t just humans that were buried here. Even rich people buried their most prized robotic servants after their years of faithful servitude. It was a strange service, but whatever.

A man robed in a red robe with multiple mechanical arms and limbs. He was large and didn’t seem full of life. But his voice was… well…

“We are gathered here today to pay the respects for the people and robots who gave their lives for the service of the city. To protect our sovereignty of our nation and to further the cause of a better technology.” The man, expressive with his words, emphasising every other word or 2. He was quite the talker but Nao didn’t really know how to continue listening to this guy so he would begin to drift away from thought.

Sadly without his senses he didn’t notice that Yuka had sneaked into the funeral precession. She wasn’t carrying her large mace as it would give away who was the one who took out the lady who controlled the robot. She didn’t want to be questioned by the Motor City motor police.

Nao approached Anastasia and Taliya with a little smile coming across their faces.  The smile slowly melted away to witness Nao's current state to a frown.  Seeing him in this state was heartbreaking; but the silver-lining to all of this was that Nao was still alive.  Turning her eyes back to the funeral, Anastasia heard Nao's words and nodded.  "Neither have we.  We were looking around to see if we would find her somewhere.  Her brother will be given his memorial soon.  You'd figure that Yuka would be here soon," Anastasia said.  The strange feeling that she got, a tingling in her body, wasn't felt with Nao around any more.  Her ability to sense dragon slayers wasn't present; this didn't even register with her at a time like this.

"They have no choice but to feel united with one another.  A tragedy that we caused and couldn't prevent is the reason they are all here," Anastasia said as a little grimace came across her face.  The thought of not being able to protect these people and the fact that their decision to rescue Yuka before Kenta was the reason all of this happened.  It struck her with grief that she felt partially responsible for the calamity that fell upon Motor City.

"News reports said that someone returned to Titan Heavy Corporation and slaughtered everyone inside.  You don't think that Yuka was responsible for it, do you?" Anastasia asked before quickly shaking her head.  "Doesn't matter, anyway.  They were the ones that created Project Genesis.  It was all their fault," she said quietly as to not interrupt the funeral procession.  She cleared her throat, lamenting their actions.

"Do you think what we did was right, Nao?  Do you think us taking this job did more harm than good?  I'm so full of questions right now that," Anastasia stated as the mechanized pallbearers carried Kenta's casket into the procession with his weapon emblazoned with the Rune Knight emblem.  "I think out of all of the jobs we've done, this was the only one we've done where I have regrets on my actions.  If only we hadn't been there, more people would still be alive."

"It doesn't matter, Anastasia," Taliya stated.  "If it wasn't Kenta, it would have been someone else and that monster would have killed so many more people."  Anastasia had her doubts on that actually occurring and feels pain from having attended this job.  Both set of eyes turned to look towards Nao with his exclamation of pain.

Nao then spoke of the Rune Knight's service and Ana bit her tongue.  She withheld her opinions on the Rune Knights for this one time; the time wasn't right to bash on the Rune Knights at a funeral dedicated to a Rune Knight initiate.  Anastasia turned her head back towards the funeral and nodded her head.  "Yes, it would be a shame."

The funeral continued with the robotic priest saying his piece.  After the funeral was over, Anastasia pulled off the black veil from her face and left it on the ground.  "Yuka didn't show up.  You would figure that she would show up," Anastasia said in disappointment, sucking air between her teeth.  The wake began for the funeral and Anastasia turned her back on the funeral wake.  "I've grown tired of this, Nao.  I'm leaving.  I can't take any more of this," she stated before she began to walk away from the funeral and towards the docks where the SS Myrmidon resided.  Anastasia didn't realize Yuka had sneaked into the funeral just before the end, to pay respects to Kenta.

"Anastasia, wait," Taliya said as Ana stopped in her tracks to see Yuka step out and walk towards Kenta's coffin and speak to it during the wake.  Anastasia was puzzled at what she was seeing, but a big smile came across her face; even a few tears streamed down her cheeks.  "Oh, there she is," Anastasia said as she wiped her tears with her sleeve.

Yuka placed her hand upon Kenta's coffin with a smile.  Her eyes shifted from his picture back to his sword, now decorated in the colors and emblem of the Rune Knights.  "You did it, big brother," Yuka said with a big smile over her face and tears streaming down her eyes.  "I miss you so much already.  There were so many things I wanted to talk to you about and there were so many things that we still had to do.  Do you remember that time when we were kids and we went to that really scary abandoned house?" Yuka said as she wiped her tears away with the shoulder of her black clothing, smudging her make-up and leaving some of it behind on her dress.

Anastasia walked up to Yuka and handed her a handkerchief.  Yes, even Anastasia had a handkerchief.  Thankfully, this one was clean.  Yuka turned to look up towards Anastasia and saw Taliya and Nao with them and she simply gave them a smile.  "I want to thank you all.  I'm sure that if Kenta had to choose between saving me or himself, he would definitely save me as well.  I hated you all so much and blamed you all for his death, but that's not something Kenta would have wanted."  Yuka said with a little nod after she was done talking before looking back towards the coffin covered with the sword.

Yuka moved her fingers towards the sword and ran her fingers down the edge of the blade.  The edge of the blade was dulled to match that of a decorative blade.  Nothing about the weapon was deadly any more.  A smile came across Yuka's face when she realized this.  "The dulling of one's blade as they pass on symbolizes peace; hoping that the one that had the weapon knows it in the great beyond.  Their fight is over, so having a sharp weapon isn't necessary any more."

Her hand moved from the dulled edge of the blade to the wood of the casket before emotion started to well up within Yuka, causing her to fall upon the casket, hugging it as tears burst from her eyes and emotions flared.  "I miss you, big brother!" she said as she bawled her eyes out, attracting the attention of everyone in attendance.  Her explosive emotions caused people to grow sympathetic to her plight and some even bursting into tears.  The ones that held their feelings back; trying to appear strong.

Another tear streamed down Anastasia's face as she wiped it away with her finger.  She sniffled a bit before placing a hand upon Yuka's shoulder.  Without saying anything, her hand slipped off of Yuka and Anastasia turned her back to her and stepped forward towards Nao and Taliya.  A nod was given to the two of them; a stark contrast from earlier where she felt anger and resentment for her own actions.  She felt at-ease for seeing Yuka come to terms with the death of her brother.  Now was just the time to mourn.

"We should go.  She needs time alone with her brother," Ana said before she started to walk away from the funeral.  Taliya decided to stay with Nao to assist his walking.  His pride may stop Taliya from carrying him, so she would stay behind to pick him up if he fell.  "I got your back, Nao," Taliya said with a smile upon her face.  Her eyes got a bit moist from seeing Yuka wish her brother a safe journey.

In the wreckage of Titan Heavy Corporation...
An old man stood in the hangar and clicked a button on a remote control to see the floor open up and something rise from the ground.  The mecha with the name "Project Genesis Mk.2" appeared before him.  A laugh came from the man before pulling out a knife.

"Project Genesis!  I, hereby, bequeath my soul to you!  Awaken, sleeping beast and do what you were designed to do!" the man said before digging the blade into his wrist and pulling the blade upwards, letting his blood drain out of his body.  The blood was pulled directly into the mecha along with the man's soul.  Upon consuming the entirety of the man's blood supply and his soul, the mecha's eyes lit up red before returning to the depths.
