The captain of the voyage was a man who beckoned him over with the promise of treasure, and by some god-planned will, Terith found him here, on a merchant's galleon as they sailed the great unknown toward Divide Island.

The seas were an unforgiving force as he rode the shipping galleon that rocked viciously against rock and water, the waves tilting the large vessel from its sides. That day had been great and new, the sun high above them and the skies showing no signs of turmoil. But passengers littered themselves about, the deck creaking as some clung unto the sides. They'd breath in the sea air as the contents of their prior meals ended up muddled through the waves, hurling noises nearing the octaves of seagulls.

Seasickness was not his problem then, since he wasn't a man born with that particular defect. Rather, he'd squirm about the galleon with no clear objective, dodging the eyes that flashed their curious gazes towards him. Carefully, he sat himself at the far back on a barrel, casting his eyes elsewhere like the galleon's great sails. He wasn't used to all the attention he was drawing unintentionally, normally his sandy blonde hair would go unnoticed much to his relief, but because it was now long and black and braided for goodness sakes, he'd been seeing lashes flutter slowly as he passed and strange women (he didn't dare ask if they were part of the merchant's crew) lifting their skirts slightly as they flirted with their words, lips puckering out like ducks.

He didn't know if he wanted to feel amused or disgusted, but neither were a pleasing thought. He decided that opposing them verbally would be rude and barbaric, so he let them be with a steady, frosty gaze to the waves that lined the sea. His arm slid under his cape, fingering his blade's hilt like a man who was scared of losing it. To his left was the sight of the nearing port, where little figures scurried about with what seemed like crates in their hands, similar vessels stopped at the docks, sails were gathered and cargo were unloaded —the trades end, but they will always begin, and in his mind, he pictured a golden circle that burned the corners of his mind.

It'd continue to seer bring fire to his soul like a greater sun, ancient markings lining its curves. A woman's palm reaches for his eyes, only to push his body off into an endless pit with an invisible force. The falling sensation felt so immersive that he was so sure he'd die as soon as he'd hit the bottom. His body tensed as he readied for a harsh impact against his bones...but it did not come, the man opened his eyes to the sights of sailors and slaves working with the noise of waves hitting the sides of the galleon. The sea soothed his burnt nerves as a single bead of sweat slithered down his jaw.

A shaky hand met his temple as he tried to recall the sensations, and became even more anxious as he could remember everything clearly. A premonition, perhaps? He didn't know for sure, but he'd press his knuckles to his lips again that day, flipping the images like gold coins.

"Sis...ter?" he suddenly blurted, surprising even himself as if the words were powered by memory alone, unexpectedly bitter on his tongue. "...Sister." he repeated, his hands balling up in an attempt to recall the pale faces of his two elder sisters back at home.

"It...doesn't feel right." he'd say. The sun would glow at its brightest, the shadows of his form would falter, but his memory would remain, and yet it wasn't warm like it was meant to be. Home was cold now, home was elsewhere, home felt like it was in the seas and not on land, an uncanny feeling worming in his gut.

He steadied himself on a barrel and pondered, his jaw stiff from frowning.

Contracts were aplenty these days and that made Leila somewhat busy. And this one in particular was quite intriguing, if only because of the fact that she saw it in multiple places already. The contractor clearly wanted this done as soon as was humanly possible. Grabbing the piece of paper from the notice board, she started studying the details. First things first, she was to meet her client in the docks of Hargeon town and everything would go from there. Nodding to herself, she hid the paper into an inner pocket of her leather hooded cape. It also appeared that this job would have some dangers. But with how long this notice was everywhere, she had no doubt in her mind that there would already be at least one other mage, trying to take care of this. And either she would be allowed to join him, or she would be rejected altogether. Definitely wouldn't be the first time something like that happened. Getting up at her borrowed horse, she started galloping towards the town.

Once there, she left the brown darling in the nearest stable, going to the ship on foot. Still not fully used to her new attire, she probably looked suspicious like most hooded figures would. But she hardly cared about opinions of people that she would never know or interact with. Finally finding the sea vessel, she started looking around for the captain, who was the contractor. People were loading crates on the board and seemingly ready to leave. Quickly boarding the ship, people understandably gave her questioning looks. Slightly unsure, she started running about until she saw a man who looked way more important that the other crew members. Introducing herself to him, he would frown on her. Saying something along the lines of him not knowing that a certain someone would have a partner, he pointed towards the main deck. A bit unsure what he meant, she scratched her head and headed the way he pointed. And before she even had a chance to do or find anything or anyone, the ship left the port. At least she was part of this mission now, that was at least something. Seating herself at a nearby wooden bench, she looked to the sides. The sea was a bit restless today, reminding her of the good old days when she traveled with smugglers or even actual pirates across the sea to get into different places. The thought alone made her chuckle slightly. Looking over the deck, it was filled with working men and even several women that were clearly hired to entertain the said man, given their attires and attitude. Since no one paid any attention to her, she opened her little bag and pulled out a small, crystal ball. Checking that it was fine and without any problems, she returned it back and leaned against the wall behind her.

Divide island was somewhat far away and it would take time to get there. Not having much to do, Leila tried to sleep at first. She was used to resting in places where one would normally be able to, so it wasn't much of a problem. But she was simply not tired and boredom was slowly starting to eat her away. Hopping onto her legs, she started moving about the ship, hoping that she would find something interesting or maybe that someone she was supposed to be the assistant of. And sure enough, when she was passing by one of the barrels, she heard something. Thinking that it was someone calling her, she turned towards the voice. "Sister? Sorry, but you must have it wrong." Who she saw was a young man with a black hair, looking like a soldier or maybe a mercenary. Definitely not someone that would fit in with the crew. Maybe this was the guy the client spoke of. And surely enough, even he realized that he called the wrong person with his next sentence, if that was what actually happened.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Terith 5th July 2016, 3:24 am

The man was a funny one when newly shaken from his train of thought. If he'd describe the feeling, it's as if his reflections scatter frantically, dispersing into an emptiness that makes him forget how to properly speak for a moment. His eyes would shift and his cheeks would house a rush of blood as he haphazardly composes himself, faking a cough as he gathers his voice with a straight face.

It'd be a blue moon if this didn't happen at least once in a given day, as it was considerably his daily routine to wonder farther than his own two feet. Somewhere in the blurry mix of crashing waves and sailors cursing, he heard an unfamiliar voice that caused his pondering expression to break into a flush, starting his routine from step one as a feminine form approached his tense figure sitting on a barrel. She was a woman who sported a cloak similar to his old skin, hiding her face from the light, yet he always knew that you couldn't hide the shimmer in someone's eyes, and if he had the chance, he'd adapt a poet's nonsense and compare her eyes to sea that'd shimmer even as it hit the rocks.

There was no time for that, though.

Terith's composure festered slightly in embarrassment, a pregnant pause stopping the flow of conversation, with nothing but the seagulls singing their ungraceful bird songs in the backdrop. He coughed, imagining the smell of smoke to help him fabricate the sensation. "Ah...I didn't mean you, miss." he began, lowering his palm to reveal a small smile, though it appeared to be tilting a little from the lingering awkwardness. "Pay no mind to that, I just tend to reminisce at random intervals."

He chuckled a little, dryly though, as he hadn't drank anything prior to that moment. Strange how they were surrounded by so much water but it wasn't drinkable. "The sea makes you think of many things, don't you think? Memories, regrets, even the little things that you've thought you've forgotten." Terith shook his head, realizing that he'd bore her with this kind of talk. He offered her his hand, daring to look her in the eye with a gentle expression as he introduced himself. "I call myself Torian Pace. I boarded this vessel with an intention to find a coveted piece of treasure. My client agrees to pay me, but I only seek the thrill of an adventure." his grin stilled, feeling the sailors shift impatiently as the galleon steadied itself into the port. "What brings you to this voyage?" he'd ask, wondering if she had also been hired, much like him. And even if that wasn't the case, he was more than interested to learn of her story.

He waited for her response patiently, only to feel the folded edges of browned paper finding it's way into his outstretched hand. His client gave him a sharp grin as he tucked the treasure map into his fingers, making Terith wonder if he was explicitly trying to ruin the moment or he had simply mistook the gesture. Either way, Terith ends with a map in his hands.

"Ye've finally met each other!" the man said, slurring his speech with a remarkable pirate accent that Terith still had trouble deciphering sometimes. "How 'bout ye get ye asses out 'o me ship 'n start diggin' fer me lovely booty?"

His big, rugged hands slapped both their shoulders in a gesture of encouragement of some sorts, though he wouldn't question the force that was involved in it. Terith pursed his lips in a sigh, tucking the map into the safe confines of his coat.

"I'm so sorry about that, big guy just wants his treasure." he huffed, making a move to usher them both out of the ship.

Looking at him more closely, he didn't look all that well for a moment there. His mind was clearly somewhere else entirely, leaving his body exposed here, lost and mumbling. Thankfully, her voice was more that capable of bringing him back into the reality of things when he excused himself. "Oh, pardon me for thinking your words were directed at me then." She apologized as well, this situation being partially her fault as well. Even going as far as saying that he was simply remembering events from the past, Leila nodded and prepared to leave him alone to his own devices. But surely enough, he kept on talking, making her stay in his presence longer than she had planned. They did not know each other at all and that made him look a bit odd when he started talking that way. But who was normal here, really. Deciding to not be rude, she turned back towards him and listened. "Only if this isn't your first voyage, ser. Someone who would be on board of this ship for the first time in their life wouldn't be reminded of much." She responded him respectfully. Not everyone knew the say and had memories of it, there were plenty of people that stayed on the solid ground, tending the land and not paying much attention to the salty waters. But then again, someone like that would probably be not in place like this.

It didn't take long before he introduced himself and stated his goal. It was quite the bold move, telling all that to a hooded stranger just like that. But since she wasn't actually someone who wanted to rob this ship, she would introduce herself as well. Bowing deeply, she looked him straight in the eyes. "Name's Leila Vergious. I boarded after finding the contract, presumable the same one you're talking about." The fact that he said he wasn't all that interested in the reward was mildly worrying. He was clearly to be her partner in this little search. But only fools were not interested in the jewels. Fools and those who already had many riches hidden and ready to be used at any time. At least that was her logic, probably not the most logical one in the world, but still. Could she really trust someone like that? There was only one way to find out. "I'm here for the reward. If you're after the adventure, feel free to give me your share of jewels after all's done." She smiled at him with her suggestion. It was just a joke, but if he wanted to take it seriously, she wouldn't be against the idea. Suddenly seeing another person creeping behind him, she chuckled. The captain slipped a small piece of paper into his hand and started talking. Questioning his speech, she removed the hood, only to reveal her unusual silver hair that glimmered in the sun's touch. "I'm sure you wanted to say 'our booty'. A proper man of the sea always keeps his word after all, and I expect to receive my part of the treasure." She reminded the captain. He certainly wasn't the first man of the sea she spoke with and his words were no problem for her mind.

Turning her back towards them, she slowly approached the edge of the deck. Indeed, they were almost there and if they were willing to get a little wet, they had the option of jumping right now. Which was what the captain probably wanted, given the fact that he was almost pushing them out at this point. With a grin on her face, she hopped on top of the railing and dived right into the shallow waters. The beach was filled with sand as she slowly got to it, her clothes soaking wet. But that didn't particularly bother her. Looked behind her, she wondered if Torian jumped as well. She wouldn't judge if he didn't, not everyone was fine with wet clothes.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Terith 5th July 2016, 6:12 am

He wasn't the type to keep up the polite front when the other party wasn't as endearing as he'd originally be, and the girl was one to fit into that category as she dodged his attempts at a light-hearted dialogue between two who'd share a common objective. Her responses were sharp and practiced, as if there was no room for a light jest in between her words, and though he'd often leave it be without progressing his intentions, there was something intriguing about the situation that he was prepared to bare any circumstance that followed if he allowed himself to keep talking, just to see how far he'd get to know a person like her.

Of course, Terith believed that this wasn't a game and that he'd be playing his best cards with an attitude that lacked a similar mindset. He had been care-free and vocal, and she stood at the other end of that spectrum with her eyes on the much finer treasures in life and he'd still be looking at the clouds, thinking of home and finding himself lost in his own cave of mysteries. People like him didn't rebuke with actions of interest at others who'd have no similar appeal, but he'd like to think that he was braver than most, and that fact alone would separate him from the rest.

He glanced at her from afar now as she personally volunteered to swim towards their destination, disregarding the crew's tireless effort to hoist their sails and ready their ropes to park their poop deck. Perhaps he'd play along too, and he knew just the method. His fingers shuffled restlessly as he dug into his pockets, producing a small round object the size of a baseball. The little ball seemed fluffy and elastic in his fingers, breathing noises eliciting from its form as it shrunk and expanded a little with each deliberate breath.

"Oi, Nikuman, rise and shine." he whispered, a devilish grin chiseling itself unto his lips as he hurled the object towards the water. Others would expect nothing more but a small ripple against the tide, but the ball increased its size ten-fold even before it hit the waves, generating quite the amount of waves as a displeased voice erupted with a vile tone, creating a cat-like hiss as it spoke. Terith buried his hands in the hole of either sleeve, sporting an analytical expression as he calibrated his bakaneko's position and his distance to the beach.

And time and time again, it'd rally against the nickname its master had adopted for it. "It's not Nikuman, it's Nikuko!" it would protest continuously, whiskers twitching in annoyance. Terith would have been somewhat admirable to have been conscious of his pet's gluttony in such an ebullient mood, but in the way he'd put it as a shameful nickname was anything but respectful.

The crisp click of refined silver was a chilling one as he relinquished his sword in his grip, slowly in order to not alarm the bakaneko out of its spot. His sword had been drawn out of its sheath for a purpose, and as his pet upheld its monologue of honor and responsibility and its  other mundane rants, he invited one of his spirits over to the threshold that managed his reflexes. Yasusada seemed uncharacteristically happy to offer a bit of substance to whatever tricky ploy he was orchestrating.

'This is one heck of feat, Teri, you trying to impress someone?'

'Maybe I am, maybe I'm not, either way, it doesn't matter. Now are you getting me across or what?'

The spirit seemed to nod in content as a strange, wave-like energy weaved itself through the fibers of his leg muscles. 'Of course, you know how I like to play.' the spirit mumbled, a teasing smile gracing its features.

The lasting echo of Yasusada's words waned across his psyche like a war horn, signaling his course of action to be committed without much thought, only trust. And he would do so, leaping of the galleon's edge to have himself bounce off his bakaneko's buoyant body, the sound it made akin to a trampoline. No sooner was he air-borne with the screeches of disapproval coming from his pet from behind him.

He had never truly attempted to push himself beyond his bounds that day, but he'd practice this kind of stunt sooner or later, and why wait for a better opportunity when things were going out so well? He wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth even if he tried. Terith felt his momentum increase a bit as Yasusada forced his legs to kick mid-air, just enough propelling force to hurl his body across the remaining expanse of water. Sure, there wasn't much to begin with, but there was still a considerably distance.

A tiny gust of particles dispersed itself from his legs as he fixed his footing on the foreign land. His landing was a little rough as he stumbled a little, the soft mounds of sand oozing past his boots. But thankfully, he managed to avoid falling face first into a sandy pit, albeit with two arms raised and one leg bending upward at the knee.

He oddly resembled a crane with outstretched wings, which felt fitting somewhat if he hadn't such a clumsy grin that coupled nicely with his hair, flocking messy bundles of black silk across his face.

Terith would only laugh, regardless if Leila hadn't seen the display, or if she had, but would only resent him for it. Foolishness would have been uncalled for in a serious issue that involved a well-earned pay and their lives at stake, but a foreign energy singed his brain cells with a sensation of feeling alive for once. Whether it had been the product of traveling the seas after such a long time on land, or the jolly-hood of finding someone new, he'd make the most of it.

He carefully joined his blade and its sheath together at his hip, allowing himself a humble grin as he carried his enthusiasm with confidence. "A normal man would probably tell you to buzz off if you asked him for his jewels." he said, "But I'm not like them. I'd give you mine, only because I appreciate my pay in other things. If you value it more than I do, then it'd be logical to hand it over."

Terith thumbed the threading that wove itself in neat V-lines across the handle of his sword, feeling each bump, etching it into his memory. "If I'm a fool for believing in this, then so be it. But when the time comes, not even riches could save me from this hell." His thoughts briefly skimmed over images of his family and his world, perhaps an entire universe away. "Jewels couldn't give me a complete sense of fulfillment and I'd be a man of shame if I feigned my happiness when I should have all the right to claim what is mine."

His chuckle is gentle, yet encouraging. "And this time, it's the victory against those pirates." He produced the map from behind his clothes, tossing the flimsy thing with an aim that headed straight for Leila. "I'll let you have that. I'm used to mapping with the stars, anyway, it'd serve its purpose better in your hands".

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Noheme 5th July 2016, 6:46 am

As she was approaching the sandy beaches of divide island, an unusual, higher wave washed over her legs. Turning back towards the boat out of sheer curiosity, she spotted something that resembled a giant animal...? "Is... is that a cat?" She asked herself, as there wasn't anyone around to answer her. Only then her new partner jumped down, landing on the creature. It even talked, signaling that it was no ordinary cat, but something else entirely. Not that normal cats would get that big and light to stay on water's surface. Looking at the whole thing, Torian seemingly did something and jumped higher and further than any ordinary man could. The poor creature was left in the salty water as it's owner safely landed on the land. He stumbled a bit, but still managed to land safely. Removing her coat and letting it fall the the ground, Leila gave him a little clap with a smile on her face. Her clothes were still completely drenched, but the sun started doing it's job soon enough.

He didn't hesitate answering her question from before. "Thank goodness you are no ordinary man then. I simply wanted to be honest, someone like me requires jewels to keep on living. Wherever I like it or not, food does cost money." Explaining her situation, she looked around. Thankfully, there was a fairly flat stone nearby that she approached and sat on. In the meantime, Torian continued his speech. His words were colorful and somewhat abstract. Not knowing what kind of hell he was talking about, she had trouble making heads and tails of his sentences. And in the end, he gave her the map of this island. She caught in without a problem and laid it open on the flat stone, now slightly wet from her clothes. But before she started making any sense of it, she looked around. This guy seemed pretty easy-going so far, and he did have a... weird, fat cat with him. So it was probably fine if she released her company as well. Opening her bag, she took out a small, crystal ball that she held before she spoke to Torian. And with a bright, white light, the crystal transformed into Ori, her loyal companion.

Falling into the sand, the little creature analyzed his surroundings. He was used to grass and nature, not sand. Which made him a bit restless as he tried to move around, his little paws being buried into the sand with each step. "Err... mind if I ask... what was... is that?" She spoke to her partner, turning and pointing at the cat, still probably swimming in the sea. "I know most of the Earthland's wild and domesticated animals... but I don't think I've seen anything like that." Curious about the creature, she absolutely had to know. And to do something useful when she waited for his explanation, she started looking at the map. Orienting it for a moment while looking at the sun, she eventually got up and pointed towards the center of the island. "Let us look for some landmarks first. From them, I should be able to track down the treasure. Or we could follow the pirates when we find them, they're probably pretty close to the treasure too." She nodded, clear smirk on her face. Giving him the two choices, she waited for what he would say. Ori in the meantime found his way up Leila's shoulder and was not eyeing Torian as well.

In a small world of pure saltiness, it'd be better to let bygones be bygones. Though the little yokai pet wasn't so adamant to let the whole situation be, and while it held adoration for its master, it lacked the ability to let the small petty things go. Nikuko may not have an appearance of a warrior, but its heart was made of pure molten iron that bent when its dignity was exposed.

The tides had ceased when Terith pushed his way towards Leila and started opening his mouth in an uncharacteristic manner, though he had very little idea of the actual weight of his actions in the mind of a yokai with a tricky attitude. Seizing the the opportunity like a fisher to a haul, the cat bounced off the salty waters like a large spring, shadowing the beach with a large, circular disk before falling inevitably unto its master's unknowing figure, his body flush against the sand.

Bits of sand danced into a yellow haze with an impact that sounded like someone was hit with a large, rubber ball. The rubber ball then began to subdue its master despite his whines of protest, his face showing his lack of amusement. "YOU LITTLE-!"

"Master has no sense of honor-nya~" the bakaneko made a face, grinning impishly with a teasing look buried deeply into its half-lid eyes. "He needs a time out."

The swordsman puffed a cheek, huffing a breath with a confusingly easy look, stretching his arms across the sand. He chuckled, and it was warm and fond. "What am I, six?" he said, "Fine, I admit defeat. Now we're even." Terith tilted his head to one side, cornering Leila with a look that also implied an unspoken apology. "This is a bakaneko, Leila. It just appeared in my life a few weeks ago and now it follows me everywhere, calls me master, and it can grow this big, for the most part."

He tried his best to not suffocate, and when the yokai's weight disappeared, he released a breath that he so dearly wanted to let out. When it came, it sounded similar to a wheeze, rivaling the deflating process of a balloon. As Terith furiously dusted over his clothes with rough hands and an irate expression creasing his brow, his pet glides through the salty air, adapting motions that made it look like it was a fish out of water, paddling its legs as it rotated in cartwheels.

There was a mention of landmarks and pirate tracking, but he wondered just how potent words can be in terms of coincidence. As he prepared himself to approach his partner, eyes connecting the ant lines that dotted the paper, the sound of riot leaked from the path ahead of them. The pirates must have been alarmed with the galleon closing in from afar. Yet, if they took this long to reach them, then their base must be situated in a place quite far from the beaches.

His thumb slid under his sword's guard, pushing it off slightly to reveal the uncanny gleam of a silver sword. If they'd be playing these eagerly, then perhaps it was only fair to repay them in kind.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Mura Kensho 6th July 2016, 12:07 pm

A shadow was travelling across the sapphire-colored water, revealing its source as the shamanistic samurai Mura as he soared towards his destination. Stuff had happened before this; he found this request at the guild hall about a certain 'treasure' and the map to it, so that those accepting the request would help the client to find it. Smelling the scent of adventure in that piece of paper, he gladly accepted it and flew off unhesitantingly. Of course, before taking his leave, he'd asked any of his guild members to accompany him on this treasure hunt. Apparently, he was going to meet with Hana once again, remembering her from their first encounter at Magnolia, where she most likely faced a childhood friend as well. He could still feel the intense amount of embarrassment from just standing there, hoping to get to know yet another guild member, and then realize that they were busy with another person; this time, he was making sure that he could properly meet this Ice Dragon Slayer.

He didn't know that he was on the same job as two other people beforehand as his eyes could spot the two figures on a seemingly undiscovered island. "Huh? Kyuken, can you see those guys over there..?" he asked his fellow samurai spirit that took a quick look from Mura's shoulder. "Yes, I can see... woah, there's a lot of people, actually. Are they all after the treasure?" Kyuken replied to Mura, adding a question about the upcoming army that Mura just discovered at this moment. Judging by their upcoming appearances and soon-to-be arrivals, he felt that the group of rioting men weren't exactly going to be all friendly with the guy that held his shaft ready and his grey-haired partner.

Before the riot managed to surround the two treasure hunters, Mura landed right in front of them from above, holding his sheathed katana on his right hand and the Futsu-no-Mitama on his left. On his battle suit was the inscription 'Onmyōji' on his back, visible for the two other workers of this job. Meanwhile, the riot were quite astonished to spot a young man ascending before them and slowly spread around him. "..." Mura took his time looking around the circle of seemingly pirates, "Hmpf... can anyone tell me where this 'treasure' is?" Some of the pirates began to speak up in disbelief after hearing that, indicating that they weren't going to cooperate with him, sadly. "He's just another intruder! Kill him!" one of them spoke up, imediately catalysing the entire gang as they charged towards poor Mura. Well, he felt too outnumbered, so he prepared one of his skills to help him.

In a brief moment, 5 clones charged out of him, each taking on a group of pirates that were surrounding them. While they were doing that, Mura looked back at the two other mages. "Ehm... are you also searching for this 'One Piece'? Just asking..."

Post by Hana Akki 6th July 2016, 11:40 pm

Flying above the crystal blue water which seemed to match her revealed orb, Hana smiled as the breeze flew through her light silver locks. Wanting to get out of the guild for a bit, Hana and a guildmate she had only just been acquainted with at the moment had decided to go on a job together, but not just any job. They had a type of craving- or her at least -that seemed to only be satisfied by adventure.  It wasn't a new feeling for Hana, seeming as how she often had it and would usually be traveling around the land of Fiore in search of something exciting and new; thus, causing her to be in her current position, a winged raccoon flying her above a rather beautiful sea only to end up at an island which apparently held some treasure that her and the guildmate Mura would be looking for. Not only was it a hunt, but also a race against pirates, and having a competitive edge the young dragon slayer just simply couldn't refuse. Besides, with the reward promised, she'll finally be able to buy cake for Tamka her raccoon to make it up to him for forgetting his birthday. Of course he would still be mad, but he was less likely to hold a grudge that way due to his sweet-tooth. Flying not so far from Mura, Hana looked on curiously as he swooped down to a certain spot on the island, in which out of curiosity she would shortly follow after. Unluckily however, as the two had been swooping down to follow him and his samurai spirit, Tamka seemed to lose control of his steering and ended up landing a little off and into a bush. "Tamka..." Hana whined, rubbing her hand against her head where she felt that she bumped it. "I'm sorry Lady Hana... but I think if you were to look up there's three people who seem to not be so friendly with us...". Looking up after hearing the ginger's wavering reply, Hana came to see three guys (which by the way were surprisingly shorter than her) who wore mushroom pots on their heads. Although on the inside she terribly felt like laughing, Hana knew that that would only make her situation worse, especially when being separated from Mura. Deciding to hurry and get this over with, Hana decided to just use her ice dragon's roar to freeze them up for a bit before forming a coat of ice in the shape of a dragon's claw on her hand and punching them til they seemed to be knocked out. "Geez Lady Hana... the least you could've done was allow them to keep their garden hats...." Scoffing at Tamka's reply, Hana looked at Tamka with a serious look before saying, "I know, but I'm runnn short on time and I don't wanna waste it on making sure their head accesories go unharmed. We need to find Mura and regroup with him and his samurai before w get lost. C'mon." "Of course, and once again, battle zone Hana is back...."
Laughing slightly at Tamka's rather true remark, Hana grabbed him to hug him to her chest like a Teddy bear and walked in the direction they believed Mura and his companion were at. It wasn't much of a struggle since Hana was able to catch Mura's scent, so quickly regrouping with him, Hana pushed away some leaves to find him with two other people she didn't quite know as what appeared to be clones fought some other people. Sneaking over to them, Hana leaned (more like attempted to) on Mura's shoulder (which actually just ended up being his hip) and spoke to make her short presence known. "Heyya Mura, who are these people? They looking for that treasure too? If so do you think they're on the same job as us?" And so she asked her million questions patiently waiting for them to be answered as Tamka crawled up to rest on her head, her silver hair now a nest.

(Ooc:) Don't mind the sizes. I'm doing this on phone and the coding is all jacked up so that happened automaticlly.

Still studying the map, Torian suddenly started approaching her, looking like he wanted to say something. But he was unable to finish as a new shadow merged with his own, Leila's eyes widening at the sight of it. The cat managed to get out of the waters on his own and was now repaying it's master for leaving it behind. And it was pretty effective, as the swordsman suddenly ate a bit of sand, laying face first in it. Squatting down in front of them, she observed the the with amusement. But what really surprised her was the fact that the cat was capable of speech, talking in a very human-like manner non the less. "I wouldn't say that he has no honor... but leaving this cuteness behind is no good indeed." She smiled at the creature, trying to innocently agree with it's words. She even extended her hand towards it, hoping to pet it without getting scratched or bit. An overwhelming desire to examine this little guy quickly grew inside of her as Torian introduced him. "What a strange name, bakaneko. May I hold you for a moment?" She asked the youkai, wondering if her magic worked on him as well. Apparently she was capable of soothing and attracting animals, but would this creature classify as that? She had to at least try.

Unfortunately, there was not much time at all for it, as a rather big group of pirates spotted them and headed towards them, seemingly from the center of this isle. Quickly getting back into standing position, she leaped back. Ori jumped off her shoulder as well, transforming back into a ball that she caught with a fluid motion and threw it back into her bag. Getting back to her leather coat, she donned it once more before she would face the threat in front of them. But strangely enough, before the conflict even started, a strange boy fell from the sky. Or at least it looked like he did. From his actions and words, it was clear that he wasn't very friendly or acquainted with the pirates at all. But he also revealed that he was after the same treasure as they were after. That posed a problem... if they weren't part of the client's crew, there was a good chance that they wouldn't be friendly with Leila and Torian either. Not taking the clones he summoned into consideration, she placed her hand on the warm sand that suddenly started rising slightly. A small path formed it's way to the crowd of pirates as they were attack by her roots without any warning. She wanted to get them all, given the fact that they arrived in one large group. But looking at them all, it was clear that they would pose a problem. A big vulcan, 12 pirates with hammers and she was sure that there were three midgets that scurried off to the side somewhere as well. Though, another person soon joined.

A beautiful girl that was holding another odd creature. And she clearly knew the other swordsman that arrived earlier. As the whole thing quickly turned into one big mess, Leila quickly moved towards her partner and slightly hid behind him. Her appearance was once again hidden beneath the big coat and hood, but she still wasn't all that interested in being ogled by those two. "W..what should we do? They could get in our way and steal the treasure..." She whispered to him, unsure of what action they should take. Not to mention that those two somehow looked really strong, especially the girl. Leaving the communications to her partner, she back away few steps, trying to analyze those pirates before they had chance to attack properly.

Post by Terith 7th July 2016, 8:13 am

There was not to be a fortunate (or unfortunate, perhaps?) encounter such as that one, where the restless force of pirate brutes are met with adversaries who've gathered for the same cause, different people of different reasons clashing amongst those who dare oppose. The sandy terrain would pose a problem but there was a battle in the midst, and the prospect of being outnumbered being their disadvantage did nothing but excite him.

He'd brandish his sword with a steady stance, eyes searching for openings in his target's messy formation, and he'd pose a raised brow as they scattered about like pests, losing the tactical advantage of a well-planned strategy. Terith buried his foot forward into the sand, readying his attack, only to face an unfamiliar figure, parts of the white shore dusting the edge of his pants as he'd land in front of them, hopping from a location that was unknown to him.

This new face seemed unlikely to be hostile as he appeared to pose as a threat to the pirates, producing five counterparts to deal with a group of fiends who thought it'd be heroic of them to pick on an intruder with an odd number. He'd tell him an answer had he not noticed a chill in the air that began to shiver its way into his spine.

The two were acquainted, he thought to himself no less after seeing the white haired woman waltz towards the mushroom pots with no sense of unease, stilling their breaths with ice as the sound of a roaring dragon slipped from her lips, something that was admittedly out of the realm of fantasy for the swordsman, having not been born from this world. Strange how he met even more fantastical people each day.

And yet they both seemed eager to find themselves a treasure, and he'd only guess that the captain intentionally made this so by littering flyers everywhere. If that were the case, then he'd been lied to, but that wasn't something he'd honestly condemn the rugged pirate for. So long as he'd pay him with the satisfaction of thrills and battles well fought...oh and money filling his pockets, too.

Terith would watch the beach erupting with the growth of roots plucking themselves from underneath, notably his partner's doing. Then he felt the swift change of air beginning to weigh down at his cape as he noticed Leila hiding behind him, her face darkened from the shadows of her hood. He stared at her in curiosity as she spoke with a whisper to her words, implying her distress on the matter that concerned the two wizards who performed their spells with the skills of seasoned magi. "I don't think so. Perhaps the old bozzo didn't leave just one job contract on the streets that day, it's best if you put it like that if we wish to earn their trust." he'd mumble back, his sword lowering to his side for a fraction of a second before thrusting upwards with urgency as he heard the wails of hammer-bearing brutes from behind him, two of them to be exact. Carefully, Terith took a half-step to his side, the space that was once his was now just an airy emptiness as his figure disappeared in a whiz of sand and short seconds.

The two hammer heads would scratch their heads at the vanishing of the black haired sword holder, and then assume their attempts to whirl their weapons to the remaining three. Of course, today was a good day and he felt especially tricky, so he took his time, appearing once from the distance the first second, fleetingly gone the next, and then appearing with a grin from behind the two pirates, arms raised and ready with his sword held like a baseball bat. His blade met the soft skin of the one on the right first, causing a large gash to drip red with three instantaneous hits, a final thrust causing Terith's sword to poke out from the pirate's back. The one on the left could only back up as his partner knelt on one knee, hand grasping at his new scar before falling face first into the sand. A hammer was thrown from the other side, but it was an aim in vain. For when the swordsman took a portion of a step, it'd end with his figure settled behind the pirate, four cuts causing blood to mar the perfectly white, holiday beach. The locals would need to wash it out after the deeds are done.

'You're particularly jumpy today, Teri-boy.' the spirit Souji chuckled, having watched the display with interest looming in his glass-green eyes. 'Has the sea air gotten to you someway or another?'

'Oi, Kaneyoshi, that is no way to address your vessel.' Hijikata implied with a formal tone, adjusting the translucent material of his collar with a stiff stare. Okita Souji would continue to bicker with the Shinsengumi Vice about the meaning of nicknames, arguing that 'Kaneyoshi' was lame and unused in that era of time, and Terith would only take to this with a grain of salt, much more keen to realize Yasusada's efforts to lend him his power at the Threshold.

'You hanging in there, bud?' he'd ask the spirit, sliding his thumb over his blade with idle thoughts, flecking the blood that gathered across his fingers with a swift sideways motion of his hand.

Yasusada gave him a sigh, tucking his arms into the holes in his sleeves. 'Ma, ma, you worry too much, it's annoying, you know? Just let me do my job, and I'll let you do your's efficiently.'

Terith grinned with the voice of a thankful man slurring his words. 'Thanks Yasusada, I owe you one.'

The spirit said nothing in return, and would only let the energy continue to surge through his veins, wisps of faint blue particles pulsing around his arms. "Hey, you two!" he beckoned, hoping to catch the two who just arrived at the scene. "If we could get all of these runts out of the way, it'd be easier to cooperate, right?"

A haul of hammers set their bull's eye on his head, and he spun his sword with a listless grunt, mimicking the brutes' way of preparing for their attack. "It's too crowded in here to find the way, anyway."

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Mura Kensho 7th July 2016, 10:05 am

Hm, the answer from the blonde guy was seemingly a confirmation of their task; to find the treasure. He mentioned that it would be easier to cooperate without the riot surrounding them as he asked Mura and Hana to help them. "You say it," he replied to the other swordsman, quickly moving his gaze back at the pirates, "... Perhaps clones aren't enough, Kyuken. Let's try something else out..." The spirit samurai would make its appearance beside Mura, full-bodied and invisible for the average human's vision, except for those who had a connection to the shaman; his guild mates, for example, and also close friends of his. "You want something mass-destructive and wide?" Kyuken was about to suggest Mura, "Try my signature skill, then. It should be pretty stronger now that you've been at that journey, right..?"

After a moment, Hana finally showed up; leaning on his hip, she asked about the crowd before them. Apparently, she'd been taking care of some mushroom pots earlier. "They're also looking for the treasure, it seems; although, I don't think that they want to help us at all..." he would reply to her, showing the Dragon Slayer his clones' struggles against these treasure hunters. Although, after a brief moment, he could feel the instant sting of cold from the place where Hana leaned on him, instinctively twitching to the side. "Oi, that's cold..." he spoke up in surprise, while shaking a little, "Are you... wait, how can you be this cold? We're at a beach, it's beyond room temperature..."

His eyes would travel towards the other swordsman after recovering from the 'cold experience', revealing quite the skilled fighter. All those unique abilities used out there were far distant from an ordinary swordsman; it fascinated the shamanistic samurai a lot, and even resembled his own style of swordsmanship. He also got to spot the seemingly hiding figure behind the swordsman, one that showed great shyness and anxiousness. However, he had no time to greet them just yet; they were right about easing the situation by getting rid of the horde. "Alright, watch out guys!" Mura warned those before him. He would quickly grab the soul of Kyuken and launch it into himself, causing a light to engulf his body, before it faded and revealed Mura once again. With the spirit's ancient swordsman skills, he would cut the air before him in specific directions, creating scales of light that followed the tracks of the blade. Kyuken-Style: Halo Blade! The scales would erupt into countless slashes of bluish light that travelled towards the group of pirates, causing several explosions to take place that moment. "Hey Hana," he spoke to his partner with an excited smile, "Show these guys your ice dragon skills..!" He felt that such encourage would help the situation a lot, especially since Hana just showed up. It wasn't like that he underestimated her at all, but he just felt like heating up the battle by that statement. The two other treasure hunters had to wait for their future conversation after this group of hooligans was dealt with...

Post by Hana Akki 9th July 2016, 12:19 am

Not long after she had arrived and threw her questions at Mura he gave a her a short and quick answer in which she would look at everybody else with bewilderment and a slight interest gleaming in the eye that hadn't been covered up; especially tilting her head to the side in attempt to observe the other silvernette female who had been using what seemed to be her companion as a small hiding place. She couldn't observe long as her own companion had twitched to the side however and began complaining about her body temperature, to which she would just give a slight shrug. "Tamka doesn't seem to have a problem with it. I guess it's just the effect of my magic." Drifting her gaze back to the scene before her, just as Mura, Hana had been rather impressed with the other swordman's skills. Knowing that she couldn't just continue standing in her current spot and stare, Hana quickly escaped to a tree to get out of Mura's way, preparing for an attack of her own. "Tamka, please inform Mura and those who we are helping to clear at least one hundred feet for me. After that's done please do the same, I'm gonna use Ice Dragon's Talon." "Aye!" The little bundle of joy would happily cheer before flying off to do as he was told. As soon as the space needed was cleared of said people, Hana then jumped from the tree in a flip extending her leg out to smash it on one of the hammer weilders causing a shattering explosion of ice to shoot out from the impact enveloping the others in the rushed blizzard. Kicking the hammer dude twice with B rank force the second one had impacted his head surely knocking him out at the least before jumping back. "Guys are free to re-enter the area now!" Hana shouted to the others, continuing to exchange blows with her pirate foes.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Noheme 9th July 2016, 2:46 pm

Apparently Torian wasn't worried in the slightest. Which probably suited him best anyway. And it certainly didn't take long before he joined the fray as well, taking on two of the hammer-wielders by himself. By watching him until now, she didn't realize just how strong he actually was. Though the fact that he didn't hold back with his sword at all made her worry slightly. Surely there was some other way to dispatch of them, other than making them bleed like this. But it was effective, meaning she had absolutely no right to complain. As the hammers started raining around, she started hopping from one side to another, avoiding them. Their throws might have been precise, but those hammers definitely weren't the most effective weapons with her standing this far in the back. Even those two who just joined started fighting properly. The one with swords seemingly activated his abilities, judging by the unnatural light that enveloped his body and those impressive exploding slashes that followed. Even the girl disappeared somewhere. But those words that Leila heard were a bit... unsettling. Apparently she was capable of controlling abilities relating to ice dragon. Which probably meant that she was a dragon slayer, the ultimate form of destructive magic. A clear signal that she should probably keep her distance from her, lest she would be caught in her attack as well. And that pet of hers only confirmed it, flaying around and warning everyone. Not really responding to it, she started walking back towards the sea, still watching everything in front of her and not letting anyone out of her sight for a single moment.

And soon after, a giant blizzard engulfed the area, probably freezing all of the pirates, unless some managed to get away. But that was highly improbable. With all those skills, there was absolutely no need for Leila to join in. As much as she hated to admit it, she wasn't confident in her fighting ability at all. Compared to them, her magic was... weak. Which only raised more questions as to why countless mages over the ages wanted to harness Eden's power for themselves. As far as knew, there wasn't much to it. Or maybe that was her and her own weakness. Grabbing her hoodie with both of her hands, she tried to pull it into her face as much as she could, hiding it. Since things were like this, everyone would probably think that she was utterly useless. Perhaps even so much that she shouldn't get any part of the reward. That thought twisted Leila's mouth as she bit her own lip. Looking over the battlefield once more, she clutched her fists. Perhaps there actually was something. Something that she usually hid away, using it as a last resort. But she god a bit of experience over her last few contracts, so perhaps she would be able to keep it up for long enough. Nodding to herself, she extended one of her hands forward and started chanting. "Hold it together, birds of a feather, Nothing but lies and crooked wings. Oh. Fly over me evil angel. Open your wings evil angel." Everyone else was probably too far to actually hear her, but they didn't have to. A magical circle appeared in front of her in the sands, shining a briliant purple light. And from it, a fallen angel rose. Xiolan was now on the battlefield and she was ready to follow Leila's orders!

Hearing the other girl's shout, she started sprinting back towards the pirates. And in the midst of those who still remained, she saw probably the most troublesome enemy. A big vulcan that was holding an explosive barrel. And the moment he saw Leila, a screeching sound escaped his big mouth as he threw the barrel directly at her. Forming a wooden armor around her, it suddenly started glowing white and shortly summoned a small shockwave, directed right at the barrel. And it knocked it right back in his direction. Xiolan extended her wings Flew towards it as well, gently adjusting it's trajectory and making sure that the barrel landed directly at vulcan's face. The explosion easily pushed him back, dealing quite a bit of damage, yet not as much as it would to human. But now that he wasn't moving, Leila had the option to continue her attack from afar. Hoping that others would distract the hammer throwers, she summoned roots in the ground underneath the vulcan that shot out, spiraling like a giant spike and carrying the vulcan into the air. Glad that she had spell that was capable of launching even the heaviest targets into the air, she shouted. "Push him back, now!" It was a little combo she created on her last contract. A great example of her cooperation with Xiolan. The angel quickly flew above the vulcan and ruthlessly punched him in the back, forcing his body back down. Even crashing into him with her full weight, she made sure he landed back on the spike that launched him in the first place, allowing it to injure him twice. But this vulcan was much sturdier that your regular enemies, as his body didn't get pierced and crushed the spike instead. Still had to hurt, however. Problem was that he stood back up and just shook, still seemingly totally fine. Leila probably slightly miscalculated when she attacked him of all the opponents. Retreating again, she hoped that someone would stop that best in it's tracks before it caught up with her, otherwise she would have to use Xiolan as her shield... and that would be very mean to her.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty 789 WORDS

Post by Terith 10th July 2016, 6:49 am

By the time he noticed how his boots gathered frost at the sole, he'd have dispatched of an unlucky soul whose blood spilled into the sea. His eyes were the shade of storms, blurred and murky as he committed his steps to aimlessly follow the voices that reached for him beyond the white noise. He'd watch as the haze cloud his vision, making everything go slower, battle sounds were whispers in the wind, three bodies were but shadows, and time were to be two hands on a watch, movement ceasing.

Then, all at once, his breathing began to labor slowly, following the tempo of the rushing seas as waves pooled around his ankles. His hand shook as his arm was raised midway, sleeves wet from a profane amount of sweat. From the depths, he'd find himself again, and when he blinked twice, the storms stopped, and he was nothing but a man, confused as a migraine worked its way up his shoulders.

There had been times where the shortest of moments became a blur to him the longer the battle would wager, but this was much longer, longer than he'd care to admit. When he desperately tried to find even a portion of a memory of the minutes prior, he'd only find an emptiness that dissipated into pain that assumed the similarity of a needle poking its way between his brain tissues. Terith breathed in the salty air, his dry throat causing a cuss to slur from his mouth ever so slightly. Three figures stood at the end of an ice-bit road, and he'd follow their trail as he picked his steps carefully, avoiding the outstretched remnants of pirate corpses sprawled amongst themselves.

A soft rustling sensation ushered against the sand, and when he turned his head to look, a familiar puff of white caught the center of his attention, rapidly approaching his form with an eager speed, and before his voice would reach its ears, his motions were stilled as he sat comfortably lodged between Nikuko's fat. His limbs were tucked in together warmly with its fur, his fair matted with the sleek sheen of sweat that beaded on his temple.

"I'll get you there, master, please don't worry, nya!"

He'd wonder just what it was thinking, but the warmth was comforting and the urge to question everything had long slipped from his fingers. Just as his narrowed into sleepy slits, a great thump resonated against the entirety of his pet's exterior. Nikuko shivered and whined, releasing its master from its balled up form before retreating into his coat, small and soft and round and horrified. Terith opted to insert a hand into that slot between his clothing to lend a soothing pat to his companion, but the act was quickly replaced with the immediate urgency to dodge a large fist that threatened to flatten him into a pancake. His footing was quick and almost non-existent, tilting his body to the left before vanishing with the glimmer of his silver blade settling like a faint after image.

"Quite the punch you've got there, buddy."

The Vulcan glared at the empty ground where its fist created a minor depression in the soft earth. It'd wail in its frustration and would frantically search its surroundings for its target, all dressed up in red and blue cloth. It found him not too long after, standing a few meters up the road ahead. It attempted to charge wildly at his form, his coat acting like a Matador's cape. He flipped his sleeve with an enthusiastic smile, enticing it closer before stepping back again, disappearing in a flap of red flare.

Terith couldn't place a finger on his demeanor that day, it's as if he immediately gained an impulse to be tricky and playful. He'd never appeared to be this convicted to hop back and forth without aim, much less smile at the notion of causing rage. He dug a foot into the ground to gather his conscience, his eyes steadfast as he watched the Vulcan followed his figure with a frightening determination. He'd meet its daunting grin head on, raising his sword with the grace of his practiced hand, though it was more of a feint as the beast's stretched as far as it could in agony, its scream powerful enough to cause acute rupturing of the eardrums.

Two swords jutted out of its knees, slowing its movements significantly. It bore its fists into the ground as it attempted to separate the blades from its muscles. The swordsman would narrow his eyes, passing a message as he switched back and forth between the three other wizards. 'Time to haul it in, guys.' he'd urge, unspoken words that were almost always mutually understood.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Mura Kensho 11th July 2016, 3:59 am

After having launched his special sword move, Mura took a quick look around him. The entire battlefield had turned into a complete cataclysm, started off by Hana's ice spell. It was quite devastating, how the blizzard erupted to every direction and showing no mercy to the pirates that were trapped within it. Despite having heard her warning and cleared out a good chunk, he still had to cover his face from the stinging fragments from the blizzard, caused by her descending charge. "That's... even... colder," he comically complained for himself in silence, until he removed his arm to spot that a large group was heavily damaged by that attack. "Nice..!" he cheered, before getting an idea; smoothly charging towards Hana, he would pat her hand with his left, sending a harmless bolt through her body. "This'll help your spells a little..." he told her, before moving over to his next partner.

The one who used a kind of unknown magic, a mystery to him, had done well along her companion... angel? That was quite surprising, but yet she appeared troubled with a vulcan approaching her. The guy looked quite damaged, but the weird thing was that his expression was as calm and unharmed as a bunny. How he could deal with all those injuries was a mystery, but he didn't have time to think about all that. Catching up to Leila, he would lay a hand on her shoulder with the words: "Hey, this might help your spells' power a little." A moment after those words, a bolt would travel through her body in a harmless way, before the spirit samurai had moved on to catch up to his last teammate.

Struggling with multiple opponents, he appeared quite needing for a little booster, and Mura didn't even have to go up to him as the swordsman approached the shaman. Telling not only him but everyone else that the time had come to haul in it, it was quite the perfect time to pat his shoulder and send the familiar bolt through his body too. "This'll help a lot, then," he spoke, before getting interrupted by another hammer-wielding guy. The shaman would quickly focus on the pirate, who was proceeding to charge two hammers towards them at the same time. Being fused with Kyuken's spirit, Mura charged towards the hammer, clashing with the two, thrown hammers mid-air and appearing on the other side of the hammering guy, his back turned as the opponent fell to his knees. Although, a small paint of blood was shown on Mura's forehead, caused by the hammers that he clashed in order to keep them back from him and his teammate. "I... boosted your magic power, so let's end this quickly," he spoke to his fellow swordsman, having a feeling that as swordsmen, they would kind of know each other's thoughts very well. On top of that, he was having one giant trip through a 100 ton heavy headache due to the previous hammertime, which was pressuring to the point where he swayed a little on his feet. He could still endure much more, but it hit very well...

Post by Hana Akki 15th July 2016, 10:49 pm

After casting her explosion of ice, Hana's view on the area surrounding her cleared to reveal not many lucky hammer weilders and strangely a vulcan. As it had appeared to be quite tough and challenging it didn't take long for the young girl's interest to be caught by the sight of the tamed beast; but as Hana was going to take it head on her attention had been pulled by a cheer of approval from Mura due to her recent attack and it's results which had surely spared no mercy to those with bad luck that had been caught in the violent blizzard. She couldn't help but to smile in satisfaction, and within that time he had approached her sending what could be described as a small but harmless jolt by a single touch on her hand. Although it didn't have any bad effects Hana jumped at the feeling of it in which she would give a quick thanks after her fellow guild mate had explained how it was supposed to help. Now that she had her magic boosted Hana would once again take a quick glance at the "battle field" before her in search of the vulcan and when she finally did she found that she had also spotted the man who she and Mura had been helping. Although she wasn't one with the gift to read emotions, there was no need for the look that he had sent not only her but the other two as well. It was quite obvious, it was the look to "haul in". Knowing that she didn't need to be told twice, Hana jumped to action in aim for the vulcan. She knew that Mura could handle the leftovers of the pirates wielding hammers and although two people had already been set on the thing a deep feeling had dwelled inside her telling her that they were gonna be having a hard time with that one, so she might as well help them get it over with. Approaching the vulcan, Hana made sure to stay out of it's line of sight, knowing that a surprise attack could have a critical effect. As she had done so, she covered herself in an armor of ice which had appeared to have the design of dragon scales. Now that she was ready, Hana charged at the pet of a beast and round-housed kicked it so it was sent flying into the closest tree, which Hana had admittedly fist bumped the air afterwards in success even though she already knew that it was gonna get back up and even more angry than it had already been.

Post by Noheme 16th July 2016, 12:34 pm

Turning to face the vulcan once more, she was pleasantly surprised that her partner stopped that giant beast in it's tracks. And with his masterful blade dancing skills, it was even looking as if he was about to win. But for that to happen, the vulcan would have to be way less durable than he actually was. In fact, it was hard to believe that any ape would be capable of surviving number of wounds this high, it was ridiculous. In the end, even a skilled swordsman like Torian had visible trouble with this foe. With that, what more could someone like Leila do? There was no way that she would be the one to beat this think, it was just impossible. But then she spotted the other swordsman in the corner of her vision, closing the distance between them. Making few nervous steps back, she tried to avoid his gesture, but failed. His hand landed on her shoulder and her body felt an immediate shock of energy. Still a bit distrustful of all this, she tried to remake the distance between their bodies as Mura did his best to explain what he actually did. "You're wasting that on someone like me..." She muttered mostly to herself, as he was already on his way towards Torian. Even with that, most of her offensive spells were still recharging, completely unusable. And there was little matter of enemies left, only the vulcan and perhaps few more stragglers with the hammers. In the meantime, Xiolan returned to her mistress' side, watching the battlefield along her. It was unfortunate, but the angel was not capable of using magical spells, so that boost from Mura had no effect on her what so ever.

Not taking too long, the girl with chilling air about her came back, ready to attack again. Probably for the best that she didn't use another big-scale devastating attack, it was still rather impressive to just kick a giant vulcan like that, sending it flying non the less. Not sure if she should get involved in any way, Leila certainly did not want to get in that girl's way, no matter what. But it would still be not good if she didn't get involved at all. So instead of going herself, she went ahead and send Xiolan again while she stayed over at the beach, looking like a sad loner, kicking sand and stuff. As the vulcan hit the tree, the angel elegantly landed in front of it and swiftly launched her hand towards the beast, gripping it's face before it had the chance to realize what happened to it. And with iron-tight grip, Xiolan threw that monkey's head into the sad, following it by her boot stepping on it's head, forcing it even further down the sand. Something that was probably not very pleasant for it's eyes and mouth. Also something that would make it even more angry that it was until now, which was quite the feet in on it's self. And just as silently as ever, she became airborne once more to avoid being directly hit by the raging monkey once it manages to get it's head from the sand. Leila only showed thumbs up to her summon, as she started flying towards her again.

Post by Terith 18th July 2016, 9:04 am

Opportunities present themselves in a varying degree of prospects, a thought that passed his mind as he watched the continuing skirmish unfold in an unexpected turn of events. At first, he'd imagine that his fellow swordsman would make do with the strange ape-like creature, but it seems he had offered to fend off the remaining pirates instead, lending him an enthusiastic burst of energy by prompting a hand to rest atop his shoulder, the surge of power coursing through his veins with the promise of possibility, derailing any further image of failure he could've harbored prior. And to that, he'd give the brown-haired blade-bearer an awkward yet sincere smile, the unspoken words of a thank you considered to be mutual, as expected of kindred spirits.

Ultimately, however, he had yet to truly make use of the advantage. A flash of frothy white captured his eyes as the air stirred from the ice lady's show of power, her armor brilliantly tailored to match a dragon's exterior, to which he was greatly mesmerized, considering how dragons were quite factitious in his world. He'd observe her moves quietly, raising a brow as the girl's initial surmise shattered as her leg met the vulcan's body, forcing it back with the brutality quite befitting of a warrior over a a lady of her stature, proving that she had much more edge to her character. It was a very interesting development, and he'd perhaps keep her memory as one of the people that were never supposed to be belittled.

His sword made a metallic noise as he readied his response in case the beast decided to continue its rampage in his direction. Though it was not spared any sort of chance as a being that he'd only assume was an angel judging by its appearance alone. The situation manifested itself in an ironic fashion as the angel brought no sort of mercy to the beast, favoring to grip it by the face and lunge it forward into the sand. It visibly screeched as it struggled to breath, and Terith felt no need to waste the opening, and therefor had already teleported his body in a flourish of hazy blue particles. His form dwindled away from the space, the process appearing incomprehensible to a typical man's eye as his body wound up behind the rugged beast. There was no form of emotion on his face as his mind quickly took response to the situation, sending several copies of his sword to five different destinations. Two were lodged into the beast's fists, the other two finding themselves at the base of its ankles, and the last had gone through its rear, digging through the muscle there. The pain was oddly enough for it to scream out of its ostrich-like position, howling its lungs out of its chest as failed to comprehend the torture the swordsman orchestrated for it.

A final sword lodged itself down its head, the sound of pulping flesh gruesomely evident. Terith found his way up on its back for a brief moment, both hands twined neatly around his blade's grip. He had not known if what he was about to do was justly or not, though the beast proposed a threat to his comrades, so he found no hesitation as he edged the sword's curve into the fold of the creature's shoulders, decapitating the vulcan with one fell swing.

What remained of its body hurled itself to the sand, causing particles to flutter off in abundant amounts. Its head proceeded to roll off into the distance, leaving a flushed trail of scarlet that was evident against the yellowed surface. The swordsman leaped off the from the fallen corpse, sheathing his blade and making a mental note to give it a wash when everything is said and done.

Though he'd eventually brandish the blade once again after failing to notice the burst of cannons from afar. His lack of practice would become evident as a cannon ball managed to weave its way towards him before he could activate his teleporting ability. Though he found a safe spot ten meters away from the onslaught, Terith would endure the pain still, no doubt a blue gash spreading across his upper back. He'd use his sword as leverage as he knelt, fueling his damaged muscles with the assurance of his favorite phrase.

"Banzai...!" he'd yell, albeit weak, it had still been a powerful voice if not for the roar of cannons. His wounds were to heal slightly, and as he let the relief wash over his form, he'd glare back at the figure who has decided to personally come for them. The captain stroked his beard with pride, his cannons reloading at a click of his fingers.

'Shit!'

He couldn't but shake the headache off his mind as the fight was just getting fired up, judging by the action that happened around him. Hana was all about the ice dragon skills, kicking back one of the vulcans with sheer force that identified a pure-blooded warrior. It was quite a pleasure to catch sight of such move, especially from one whom he'd admired for such character that always reminded him of his old Guildmaster, but he couldn't aimlessly watch her and the others as he was supposed to go back to the blaze of the battlefield too. His eyes, or rather Kyuken's, spotted that they were bringing reinforcements with the form of multiple cannons at the hill of the beach. "Here comes the others, guys..." he calmly spoke to whoever could hear him from that position, pulling up Harusame as an act of acceptance and eager, "This battle isn't settled yet. I can see the treasure right in front of me..!"

He dug into the swarm of pirates that were darting around with apparently no particular target, pulling up his sword and deal slashes on their shoulders that would bring them to their knees. One of them tried to parry by slamming away the blade with a hammer, but Mura was quite quick enough to make that an opening for him to dig the blade into the pirate's leg, most likely immobilizing him for the day. Then he would launch himself pass the guy with an elegant leap, landing his wooden sandals on the hot sand once more and proceeding. "They're losing numbers, Mura..!" Kyuken would speak from the core of his very self, "A little more, and they might give up! The treasure is ours!" Mura would express a blunt smile to that statement as he would arrive at the bottom of the hill. He could spot the cannons above him, watching them launch every single weapon's ammonition at his group. He himself would be shot down too, just not as accurate as the range was for the others due to him being just below the iron tools. He couldn't let himself wait down below just to get shot, so he launched one of his spells at the hill itself to let the pirates up there collapse. Kyuken-Style! Vacuum Buddha Slash! The red-like gust of a slash would travel through the boulder-like rocks, easily cutting off the hill and its foothold. Now, the hill was slowly crumbling and, by time, crashing down with the pirates on top. "You shouldn't have put your cannons that close to the edge, should ya?" he commented, before returning to Terith and the others...

He would quickly spot that another figure was approaching him; with long, black beard and prideful look, he could conclude that it wasn't on their side; it was most likely another pirate. He would ready Harusame for a surprise attack, but suddenly, a cannon would show itself from below. It was as if it was summoned, or rather hidden away from them to work as back-up. Mura could barely jump over the shot that bursted from its opening, wiping off a sweatdrop afterwards. "This might be what's left, huh..." he spoke to his companion, "Are you ready? You know, swordsmen-power combined seems like just what's needed to bring him down..."

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Post by Hana Akki 21st July 2016, 7:46 pm

After Hana had kicked the Vulcan into the tree she continued to watch on impressed as an angel who had apparently been summoned by the other female with silver hair to a hold of the crwatire's face and threw it in the sand. However, thinking of the angel being summoned, she began to wonder where the other girl had been herself. Looking around frantically to make sure she had been okay, which hadn't tooken long as she quickly spotted her figure over by the beach. Running up to her Hana stopped in her tracks as she saw that Leila had been looking rather depressed, and she continued on slowly. "Hey... uh... are you feeling okay...?" Mentally face palming herself, it couldn't be helped as when it came to new people she was really shy, so she just stood there staring off somewhere else awkwardly. Thankfully but not thankfully at the same time, that moment was short lived as a Canon ball hauled past them from in-between the two, causing Hana to whip her head in the direction it came. From her view, the short silvernette saw that there had been another pirate with a Canon, and Mura seemed to have been talking to the guy who was with the girl she was checking on. Suddenly, a bright yet childish idea came into her head, and to be honest she really hoped that it would at least crack a smile on the other girl's face. "Uh, just wait here and keep looking in that direction with the pirate dude." With those last words, Hana began to sneak her way over towards the bossy-boss pirate dude (X3). Although she only had Dragon Slayer magic, before that she had been a shadow mate, giving her the advantage of being able to quietly sneak around without getting caught like a ninja. Even if that magic had been lost, the only sneak advantage that was tooken along with it was shadow travel, so it didn't take long for her to get behind Black Beard without being noticed, and as soon as she did she crouched down behind him and grabbed his leg transferring her magical energy into his leg and paralyzed it yo where he lost balance and fall. Not only did it give her companions an advantage but it also ruined his badass entrance in which Hana quickly jumped into the trees and retreated with a small and unheard giggle so he wouldn't know it was her who did it and target her directly, even though he already did see her when falling. -.-

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty Re: A Treasure Unlike Any Other

Xiolan still had some time left in this world, and so she returned to Leila after Torian took over the torch and started finishing that crazy vulcan off. Though, she had to aver her eyes when he was doing so, as he did in quite gruesome manner. Questioning if that really was necessary in her mind, her eyes would eventually rest on the rolling dismembered head anyway. At least it would make a fine trophy, that was about the only thing calming Leila down right now. That and the fact that it actually tried to kill her, even though she did technically hit him first and started that entire fight. But that was besides the point, surely. What wasn't and was rather surprising was the dragon slayer approaching the meek girl. Her entire body jumped slightly when she heard Hana's voice. And even though her question was completely understandable, from some reason, she was unable to formulate an answer. "I... I, well..." Thankfully, her words were quickly interrupted by a cannon ball, that was impossible to miss as it flew right in front of her. The slayer girl clearly noticed it too and decided that instead of wasting time with Leila, she would do some proper work. Though, she said something a bit odd before she left. With that, Leila started approaching the swordsman duo, as well as watching the other girl from distance. What she did was sneak up on the newly appeared pirate and freeze him in place for a bit. It was a bit comic, truly, especially since that man was clearly a pirate captain. That much his garb alone could tell. And as he stumbled around, the two guys who were supposed to take charge and impress the girls were chatting about.

Walking in between the two, Leila would prepare herself. "How about we finish it then?" She would toss her words toward them and show them her back. That captain looked tough. Maybe even more than that vulcan. If that really was the case, she had to hit him with her full force. Hoping that her monstrous transformation would go unnoticed below the heavy leather coat and hoodie, her skin started to change. From normal human to gray, rough tree-like limbs, she would soon not even resemble human being. And then, her body simple enkindled, flames swallowing her whole. As always, it was a bit painful... but it gave her strength. Xiolan who was flying behind her stayed out of the scene for a moment, as Leila crouched for a moment and touched the sand with her hand. And in that moment, flaming roots would come from below, quickly grabbing the captain's remaining free limbs and started to crush them with sheer force. But it wasn't enough. Growing a strange plant next to her, Leila would grab it's fiery fruit and keep it in her hand as Xiolan finally flew towards the target as well. She would punch the captain right in the face before she would deliver another blow right into the top of his skull, sending his body towards the sand. And in the same moment, Leila would summon more roots to form a spike that flew out, nearly impaling the poor bugger and sending him flying. While in the air, he was perfect target for Leila's throwing skills, as she threw the flaming fruit at him, creating a big explosion of flames the moment it touched. And as he fell from the cloud, Xiolan would finish it by punching him from the air, right back at the spike, letting him get nearly impaled twice in such a short span of time. It was all pretty flashy and brutal, but also tiring. With that, Leila had to send Xiolan back into her worlds and retreat as she cancelled her transformation as well. Now she only hoped that her partner and those two other mages would finish the job.

A Treasure Unlike Any Other Empty 491 WORDS

Post by Terith 26th July 2016, 10:31 am

"I believe so." Terith huffed in response to his fellowman, relieving the ground of his weapon with an urgency that was unmatched by the bellowing cannons, the captain gushing out his powers in generous amounts, just to keep them, the hindrances, at bay. The gathering of magic eventually dwindled, however, an unexpected form of saving grace that twisted his face into one of pure surprise. Though it was as short-lived as the captain's dignity, his bearded face descending into an anti-climatic fall courtesy of their white-haired ice user, her method of deliverance undoubtedly amusing as the passing seconds consisted of a skirmish suiting comedic tastes, but of course, he wouldn't admit that out loud.

Yet the scene was later orchestrated to take a drastic turn, so suddenly, the winged summon proving quite durable as it dealt a fair amount of cruelty that coupled well with Leila's spikes, fire breathing from the sand as her body is lit with the same color of flame. He honestly reserved judgement when it came to his partner, for the very reason that her feats were astonishing in their own regard. Even then when the fight was reduced into nothing but a baseball game that flowed back and forth between thorn and flame, her battle style only seemed to increase his respect for her more.

Though these musings were to be left in his half-smile as Terith readied his rigid stance, briefly offering the brunette swordsman a glance that suggested a moment of camaraderie and a tell-tale sign of the perfect moment to strike, a notion best dealt with the best of trump cards.

And Terith upheld his in a swift succession of attacks that started with a sprint, followed with a simple execution of the Tejun, consuming half a second before his figure appeared in a fleeting shadow of black, snaking behind the captain that prompted a wide-eyed Black Beard to curse at him in a vivid, sea-barren manner despite having only gotten a hold of his bearings. His words were then lost to the sound of a thumping sensation brought about by the force of his Bokken, its waxy surface glistening as it hit the target's bum rather harshly. He'd set his eyes on the body's trajectory, aiming a few ghost copies of his sword at his airborne form. Though it did very little, the pain was still existent with the way the bearded man's mouth hollowed in a gut-wrenching scream. Blood rained over the area as the blades cut through parts of the captain's foot and leg tendons, a disperse of blue dust fluttering off from his wounds as the blades disappeared. The display was perhaps too brutal for a man of his alignment, though he did his best to limit the acerbity by solely adhering to the plan of temporarily rendering the man incapable of using his legs.

"You got this!" he'd shout over to Mura, the body descending closely to where the other swordsman stood.
