Summer was, perhaps, the most convenient time of the year to take a vacation; three months without school, without classes, nor any other scholarly activities to take into consideration. It was the perfect time for a family to go out and enjoy themselves on an island somewhere or visit another country and see he world. However, there were also those that had neither of those things. They worked a day job; a boring, tedious waste of labor that could likely be done with magic with a quick enchantment but, for some reason, would never be done that way because the world wanted human interaction and intuition. These people likely had no educational responsibilities, bar their own desires, and thus had no excuse to use a quarter of the year for their personal time; the world expected them to work, and to do that work year-round with few exceptions. Then there were those with no family. Be it because they chose not to have kids, theyir kin were all dead, or some unlucky bastard was just too damn ugly to get a wife, some people did not see the need to have a family, and thus have an excuse to go on vacation once a year. These people ranged from a wide variety of sorts; some were sad, lonely lumps that sat and cried themselves to sleep at night, others were pyschopaths that murdered their significant others before the relationship could get anywhere meaningful.

While those sorts of people certainly existed, Kistiñe was neither of them. As a Latina with a knack for flirting, an appetite for socializing, and an inappropriate sense of humor , it was highly unusual to see her acting out of anything but her usual spontaniety. However, for several months, there appeared to be a fog hanging over her head; she had been grouchy, irritable, and unwilling to talk about what was bothering her...in all likeliness, she probably never would. Most of her guild mates had stopped asking her about her problems by the time she had packed her bags, but there was still some nagging feeling for a few members that not all was right with her when she had left. Not a word had been spoken, only a note on her door reading “On vacation. --Kisti.”

For the first time in a while, there was a genuine smile on her face. It had been several weeks since she had last been in Black Rose’s halls; currently, she was in her room on a returning cruise ship. The room itself wasn’t all that impressive—she had gone cheap on accomodations so she could use her money elsewhere—but it was certainly enough to fall asleep in at night. A single bed lay opposite the door, with a small chest at the foot for her belongings, and a small bathroom to the left—in essence, a cheap hotel room on a boat. She was currently in said bathroom, looking in the mirror and playing with her hair; it had been quite long and unruly before she had left for her vacation, and during the course of her time away she had gotten it cut down quite a bit. Whereas before it had curled and cowlicked unrepentantly, now it was quite easy to manage; her former black mop now went about half way down her neck, with more length in the front to style with...although, she was still fairly clueless about styling it. With a laugh, she stopped playing with it and decided just to let her hair fall freely before going to get changed. Whatever shenanigans had occurred in her meeting with Kim seemed to have worn off—over the course of the cruise, she discovered that her bras started fitting again—but that wasn’t much of a thought as she went to continue getting dressed, taking a moment to pose in the mirror and look at the guild tattoo on her back.

Getting dressed was a quick affair—khaki shorts, a black tanktop, and some sandals—but packing up was another task entirely. A weeks’ worth of clothes were strewn about the room, much like how she kept her own back at the Guild Hall. In such a small space, it was hard to walk around and not step on an article of clothing; it also made her wonder how she managed to fit everything into a singular duffle bag when she had first packed for the trip. Forty-five minutes of searching, swearing, and cramming clothes into said duffle bag later, and it appeared that she was packed and ready to go...however, another ten was spent looking for her earrings and bracelet, both of which were found at the bottom of the chest at the foot of the bed. Putting them on with a sigh of relief, the Latina sat on the bed and looked at the clock: it was about noon. The ship was scheduled to be back in Lavanitir’s ports by two. With nothing better to do, she decided to take a nap…

Taking a nap probably was not the best option she could have gone with. Aside from nearly missing the stop, she also had to run back to her room and search for her passport, which, thankfully, was on sitting on the top of the nightstand. As she walked away from the docks and into the city proper, it was nice being able to be on solid ground after being at sea for two weeks. The cruise, to be fair, had been absolutely amazing; the stops had been marvelous, the weather was perfect, and the deck parties had been fantastic. The experience had been refreshing and much needed, but there were far more entertaining things to do at home. Rather than catching a cab, she walked down the sidewalk at a brisk pace towards the guild hall, humming and da-da’ing a familiar tune as she did. Thoughts about her guild mates popped in her head: how was Corliss? Iza? The others? Two weeks wasn’t an extraordinary amount of time to be gone, but it was enough to make her wonder what had happened while she was away...oh well, she’d know when she got there.

Eventually, she got to the guild hall. She stopped at the door and waited for a moment, playing with one of her earrings. Was she ready to go back to guild life? Part of her wanted to say no; that part of her was still hurting, still wanting to cry and crawl in a corner...but, she wasn’t going to let it control her. Felicia was dead, but it was said and done; the hole was still there, but there was no use in staring at it any longer. After a moment, she took a breath and opened the door to walk inside. “¿Bueno?” she called, “¿Hay alguien aquí?”

    Translation: Hello? Is anyone here?

Kakuma had been the first to find the note a while back, she didn't mind it so much and had passed the note to the rest of the guild. She didn't know when or how Kristina or would return but she hoped she would and she was rewarded for her patience. She was again in the rafters like she usually was, her tail hanging down as well as one of her hands, she heard the door open. She didn't move from her spot but her wolvin ears did perk up, she waited for a few seconds wondering whom it was.

“¿Bueno?” the voice paused “¿Hay alguien aquí?”

Kakuma grinned, she knew exactly whom it was, she shifted her weight a bit and rolled of the rafter. As she fell she righted herself in mid-flight, landing on her feet right in front of the bird. she didn't even wait for Kristine to saying anything, simply throwing a hug on the girl.

    "welcome home!"

Kakuma stepped back and pulled her inside of the of the guild hall. Kakuma pushed the girl into a chair and ran off into the kitchen, Kakuma was not much of a cook but she tried her hardest. all she had to show for 10 minutes of work was two badly made sandwichs, which she brought out and set down in front of her.

"its not Magna's cooking... not even close..."

Kakuma frowned and sat down next to the girl and picked up on of the disaster for a sandwich.

    "welp.... thanks for the food!"

It was a surprise to see that Kakuma was the first one that she saw in her return to BR...not that it was a bad thing. The hug was a bit unexpected, but it wasn't unwelcomed and she briefly reciprocated it before the wolf-woman started to drag her into the dining area and plopped her down into a seat. While she waited, she slumped her duffle bag off to the side and put her hands on the table, twiddling her thumbs. It was weird, being back in the guild hall after two weeks: everything looked practically the same as it had before. With as much trouble as its members seemed to cause on a regular basis, she half expected to see a hole in the wall or something, but everything was picture-perfect. She'd kinda wondered where everyone else was, though... It was about that time that Kakuma came out of the kitchen with two sandwhichs that looked like they had been made in a trainwreck. She couldn't help but laugh a little, but tried to stifle it as the guild master came closer and set them down at the table. "Kakuma," she said, "I, uh..I ate before I got here." It was the truth; out in the port, there had been a street vendor selling homemade burritos, so she had grabbed one for the walk home; had she thought about the fact that someone might try to make her some lunch when she had gotten back, she might have skipped out on the burrito...

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

It was known to almost everyone in the guild by now that Astrid was not the best when it came to paying attention. From almost burning down her apartment to befriending a murderer it seemed the world could be crashing down around her and she wouldn't even know, carrying about her ordinary day without too much thought. This could be said about her guildmates leaving also. She had not really noticed Kistine's absentce, though small moments where she felt like the guild was missing a person standing behind the bar did rise up every once in a while. However the violinist had been rather busy for the last couple of weeks. Taking jobs, practicing her playing, writing music, caring of Lucius, there was rarely any time left in the day to really think about anything else. That being said the mage had also experienced a drop in energy recently due to the rise in activity, which was strange for her always full of life attitude. It was tiring to do her best 100% of the time, but it was the only way Astrid knew how to function. If she wasn't giving her all for everything then nothing would turn out good enough for her standard.
However today was already taking its toll on her. Because she had spent all night trying to figure out a piece to play for her next session and her normal routine of getting up early to make breakfast for her and her brother she had only managed to get about two hours of sleep. Mix that with her already nearly depleted energy and it didn't make a good combo.

The silver haired girl stood at the kitchen doorway, normally widened blue eyes dull and lazy, her posture slightly bent. Something had caught her attention when she entered the main guild hall. A strange burning smell, as if someone inexperienced at cooking had tried to make something and failed miserably.
Her stomach grumbled lowly. Though the food smell was obviously from something burnt and inedible it had still managed to peak her stomach's interest. Because of her sleepiness she had messed up her breakfast. Normally she was a rather good cook. Not an expert or anything, but just good enough for a normal person who had been the main cook in her house back in Peace Village. However with her dwindled concentration she had accidentally mixed in a lot of strange things with their toast and eggs, making Lucius almost throw up. And since Lucius was never one to cook neither of them had ended up eating before they came to the guild. She was starving.

Staring blankly at the far wall, blinking, it took her a few moments before she entered into the kitchen, singing Frere Jacques quietly to herself sleepily, seeming not to have noticed either Kistine or Kakuma in the room next door when she passed through. The French nursery rhyme at points would fade into a hum as she waddled into the room, and then would shake slightly as she almost fell over before returning to actual words.
Finally settling herself in front of the tall fridge she opened it with ease, reaching her arm inside and rustling about before grabbing onto a small cup of yogurt before shuffling her way back into the main hall, sitting down next to the latina, letting a small yawn out of her mouth.
As she sat, the musician's head would bob up and down, trying her best to fight off the sleep that was quickly overtaking her.
