Re: To Earthland...And Beyond! [Job]
Hargeon town, another heavily populated area that was buzzing with life. People were everywhere, some on simple walks, other running to, or from work... and quite a few were here for the very same reason as Leila. To register a passport that will allow them to legally leave Fiore. Leila had quite a bit of travelling behind her, but she was always with someone else. And that someone always managed to find a way for them to get from one point to another. Now that she was alone, she had to find a way herself. So of course, she decided to do things the proper way. Which might have been a mistake, or at least that was what she thought when she saw the huge crowd of people in front of the building. It seemed that most of these people were nearly desperate. The whole place was totally disorganized, guards trying to shove people in lines. But alas, to no avail. Citizens and other mages simply created a mass of bodies in front of each door to a booth where the registration took place. And who got inside was the lucky one. To a small girl, these huge crowds seemed almost as a scary monster. With a considerable sigh, she seated herself nearby and tried waiting for a bit, hoping that some sort of order would be established or that the number of people around would maybe decrease.
But after an hour of absolutely no change, it became clear that she would have to fight her way through. Or wait a bit longer... which seemed like the more sensible option. And with that, Leila decided to have a look around the town. The beautiful architecture, delicious smells that were coming from restaurants and open windows of family houses, merchants that were trying to get her attention and her money, all of that was almost entirely new to her. Hours passed and it was time to get back on track. But her little tour through the city only increased the pain that the scenery from before brought. Absolutely nothing changed, the amount of people probably even increased! It was clear now that she had no choice but to enter the crowd too and try to get to the front. And so she did, her body being mildly crushed by people around her as soon as she entered. It might have been one of the longest moments in her life, being pushed from one direction to another, unsure of where she even was. But luck was on her side that day, as she suddenly felt a lack of force from a certain direction and immediately after that, she flew into a wooden door. Thankfully it wasn't locked and Leila sloppily landed on the floor inside. Only after hearing a voice from above her, she realized where she was. Somehow, she managed to push through and land inside of the registration booth. With a bright smile on her face, she jumped up and quickly presented everything that was needed to the person behind the window. The process only took few seconds and soon, Leila had her passport. With a sigh of relief, she turned and opened the door to outside. And only thanks to her reasonably good reflexes, she managed to dodge a man that flew inside the booth exactly the same way she did. With a concerned expression, she did her best to leave and not get crushed again, making a mental note to never come back.
