Private Chrono's Third Mission: Missing/Stolen Jewelry feat. Mashyuu

Post by Chrono 10th June 2016, 2:10 pm

    Job Details:

For the first time in a while, the sand had spoken urgently again. "What is it this time?" Chrono asked. As you may know, wherever Chrono set foot, sand followed, and whenever the sand followed Chrono, for spiritual reasons, Chrono had tendency to speak to his sand. Why, you ask? Because the souls of his parents inhabited it. His father, Mizael, oftentimes focused on other matters, but whenever Chrono set foot in a potentially crime-infested area, Aki was the one to take charge. To summarize, through sand, Aki was currently speaking to her son. Chrono enjoyed wandering about through Fiore nowadays, but never did he think he'd come across another area where trouble was afoot. And, of course, with the code of a legal guild, whenever trouble was afoot, Chrono held the responsibility to take care of it. This was the part of him that Aki always saw and admired about her son. Mizael, surprisingly, watched from the shadows of the sand, hoping to see if Chrono could surpass yet another task; this time one of suspicion than danger, to be specific.

On his way to the scene, a man could be heard hyperventilating, running at his utmost towards Chrono with a note in his hand. This man appeared to be a messenger, but what for? "The council forgot to hand this to you! I apologize on behalf of their mistakes!" The messenger explained before running away. The silly council and their rush to activities. Chrono looked at the note, where he noticed not a name, but another guild who was to send a representative alongside Chrono to take on this task? Would it really be that difficult?

At the massive Sabertooth guild hall Mashyuu sat in his large wooden chair and scanned a flyer from the Magic council. In a low tone the man in the grey one sleeved jacket jacket grumbled to himself. "How does the Magic Council decide who they ask to go on jobs when they don't just send out fliers? Eh whatever guess I'll go help this Chrono kid out. See what he's made of." Mashyuu muttered and stood up. His nose flared while he smelled around for Rocky, his pet. The good news was that the job seemed easy enough and since Mashyuu was an expecting father he didn't want to throw his life in needless danger.

Rocky patted up to Mashyuu from under the Wizards bed and it looked up from his black armored boots to his sky blue eyes with a happy look on it's face. Mashyuu bent down and rubbed the stone golem's head while strapping on his red and black leather gloves that had no fingers. "Alright boy to Hargeon Town we need to find Chrono." With a swift jog Mashyuu ran past his yet to hatch dragon egg and out the guild hall...

An hour later he landed next to Chrono and patted the man's shoulder at about the time the messenger took off. "Hey there man. I'm Mashyuu of Sabertooth, Paragon of Protection, Rising Star of Fiore, and Earth Dragon Slayer. So.. Seeing as you have been here longer than I am, where are we at on the job?"

Chrono was surprised to suddenly feel a pat on his shoulder shortly after his arrival, especially when he thought his partner for this mission was absent in this instance. "That's quite the status you have." He commented, "Chrono Libra: Supreme Leader of the First City of Desierto." The man had to admit, both had phenomenal statuses on their shoulders, though unless this "Mashyuu" fellow had a lot of expertise with geography, the master of sand doubted his own status would mean anything to the Sabertooth male. "Oh, and I'm from Infinity Hydra, though new to it." Chrono did not want to admit at least that he was of the lowest rank Fiore had to offer: D-Rank. It might instill doubt into the other, after all, or make the lad feel as though he'd need to take on most of the troubles alone. This would be an equal effort.

"Currently, we are right where the council wants us." The boy explained, "At least for now. For the moment, we have absolutely no intellect of the culprit behind the theft at hand, though there is a supposed Urchin who has enough details with him to not only provide us a location, but perhaps the thief too. Hopefully there is only one." The sand wizard desired to see the strength behind one of three noteworthy statuses: Dragon Slayer, Rising Star and Paragon. Even the sand was eager to see Mashyuu demonstrate his power, but not just for show. No, he wanted to see victory and defeat. "Onward to the next stage." Chrono announced. He was never good at making anything sound cheerful, nor powerful with his words.

Mashyuu took in the sight of the young man standing near him. His sky blue eyes worked swiftly while his nose took the man's scent in. A tactic that Mashyuu had developed after he became a Slayer. It was mostly to help him track incase the two had to split up and relocate. His mouth curved into a smile and he nodded up and down. "Desierto, I was there about a year ago. Just before I joined Sabertooth. Being an Earth Wizard I wanted to check the place out, see if I could learn any special skills. It's where I developed my Mountain Stance." Mashyuu remembered fondly.

It didn't take long for Chrono to get to the meat and potatoes of where the two currently stood. They needed to find some punk on the street who would have info for them. "Oh I can find that guy. Rocky, take to the skies would ya. Lets see what we can do." Mashyuu ordered and the stone dog with wings barked happily once then spread it's wings to fly in a twisting manner high above. In the Mean time Mashyuu extended his left arm and from his shadow a dark imp with blood red eyes extended up to Mashyuu's waist. "Dark One. Find that street punk would ya?" The small demon grinned it's twisted lips and vanished in a puff of smoke to do as Mashyuu had commanded. "Give it a minute." Mashyuu stated calmly while he crossed his large arms over his chest and shook his brown hair to shift it some.

"That's a first." Chrono replied. He paused for a moment, paying close attention to Mashyuu, who was already beginning to make use of his inner strength. Chrono frowned on the inside to the fact that he didn't even realize Mashyuu had a companion with him. This companion reminded Chrono of one of his unique abilities: Flight. Of course, his form of flight did not require wings, though it was very interesting to witness a canine with wings capable of doing so - heck, a canine with wings alone was cool enough. Followed by this action, Chrono took note of another companion, but of netherworld descent (or so it appeared). The sand clarified that, if Chrono could not see it closely enough, this second beast was one of darkness. It was a bizarre situation, indeed; the sight of an Earth user using the power of darkness. This action reminded Chrono of something he had never used, but acknowledged he had in his arsenal of tricks; the ability to send the defeated to a void: The World of Nothingness.

Chrono stood still while the two companions searched the area, looking for the Urchin. "Did you run by all cities?" Chrono asked, "To become royal, you must hold the power to exceed the Second and Third City. The Third City is more violent, seeing as it is filled with the leftovers of the Second City, all of which live in poverty. The Second City is a developing state, who eat away at the Third City's resources while constantly challenging the First City. I come from the First City, but in a safeguarded area, free from any of these mentioned attackers. Wherever you run, always assure you're aware of your surroundings, Mashyuu." This kind of story usually motivated others, you know? Perhaps Mashyuu would up his game, knowing how dangerous an unconcerned environment was becoming, though absent of any wizards. It was similar to this task, actually. As far as Chrono was aware, no wizards or supernaturals were involved in this job, but he could be wrong. Albeit, Chrono just waited patiently for the two companions to complete their search, and find that Urchin.

Casually Mashyuu leaned against a near by wall and ripped a lose brick from it. His red and black gloved hand shoved the brick in his mouth like it was a cookie and he chomped down as if that were a normal thing. His brow raised sharply when Chrono started to ask if Mashyuu did something involving running through a series of cities or something. As he finished chewing and swallowing he cleared his throat and held up his hand. "No man. It wasn't like that... I mean it could have been. I just wandered into the town and hung out for a few hours. Fought some guys and picked up some moves. I didn't know about various places like that. Like I said, I went there to learn some spells and ended up developing a great fighting stance." Mashyuu explained.

It was then that he went strangely silent and his eyes shifted from their natural sky blue shade to a thick red. His head twisted to the left and he started to wander almost as if he were a zombie. The Wizard walked some thirty feet then stopped and twisted to the left. In a corner was a teen who was either thirteen or fourteen. He wore a small brown hat on his raggedy red head. Dressed in a pair of ripped up blue jeans, a pair of red tennis shoes and a brown tee the kid cowered against the wall while Mashyuu's summoned shadow glared at the boy. Mashyuu lifted his hand towards Chrono and motioned for him to come closer. Mashyuu's eyes shifted back to his blue color and he wandered into the alley. With a snap of his fingers the Dark One vanished into a puff of smoke. Mashyuu took his place and stood over the boy, glaring down at him. "You the kid that know's about the stolen jewelry?"

"Fighting is that important to you, huh?" Chrono answered. As of this point in time, he knew he was with one of the legal side's fighters. Nobody would use their time in Desierto to fight for fun, after all. Desierto is initially too dangerous of a place to do that sort of thing without  being prepared for repercussions. Nevertheless, there was no doubt in Chrono that even an inch of this story was fabricated. He did become observant of Mashyuu though. It wasn't long after his story, in fact, that this teammate's eyes shifted suddenly. It almost reminded Chrono of El's shifting to Lucifer back at the guild, but what was the meaning of this? "Are you okay?" Chrono asked after he witnessed the shift fade away, that dark imp now absent. He could tell in that phase that Mashyuu was no ordinary wizard. Heck, this was not the only time Chrono thought about this. He also caught a glimpse of Mashyuu eating a brick, though he could only imagine that as Slayer-like behaviour - he had seen many similar actions before.

Chrono averted his eyes after observing Mashyuu for an instant, realising that the two, alongside two companions found the Urchin. "Why don't you talk to this guy." Chrono advised, "Though he seems trusted by the council, I want to see from behind the stands if this Urchin is the real deal. There's a difference between real intellect and claims, after all." The magic council was not always right in their sightings. Chrono also wondered how exactly the council knew about this "Urchin", as well. Did this Urchin just pop out of nowhere and convince the council one day that he was a valuable asset to this mission. Chrono entrusted Mashyuu, the bulkier wizard between the two, to confront this guy - to see what he was made of. "If this guy can be trusted, I will take an immediate lead on his given coordinates. Hopefully the council picked the right guy." Chrono added.

Total Word Count Between Mashyuu and Chrono: 1748

Mashyuu glanced over at Chrono then put his attention back on the boy that was clearly not looking to friendly towards Wizards. This was a little to easy so far. Mashyuu's wasn't sure if he was glad about that fact or worried. Mashyuu stalked towards the boy and grasped him up by the shirt and lifted the boy up off the ground. "Listen kid, we have a job to do and I don't want to deal with wasting any more time than I have to. So do you know about the jewelry or not?" Mashyuu asked while glancing around to make sure the two Wizards weren't about to be attacked.

The boy took a deep breath and held his hands up as if to defend himself. "Alright! Okay, your magic council offered to let me stay in their hall to live if I cleaned the place and told them who stole the jewelry. It's a pawn shop owner. He sells stolen goods. In fact it's just right around the corner now let me go!" Mashyuu placed the kid down then walked past Chrono to visit the pawn shop. Mashyuu pushed the door to the pawn shop open and let Chrono take the lead on this part.

Chrono spectated Mashyuu once they came across the Urchin. It appeared Mashyuu was rather impatient with the matter, but at the same time, this Urchin was more legitimate with his purpose than Chrono anticipated. To know the exact location was indeed impressive. That, and for the Urchin to position himself just around the corner from the danger. A brave one, he was. Chrono took the lead from here, and walked slowly inside the pawn shop the moment the doors were opened for him. The goods were in plain slight, but why? Chrono could only come up with one conclusion. "We're trapped, Mashyuu." Chrono confessed, "Unfortunately, these people don't know what wizards are."

Or so it appeared. As soon as Chrono finished speaking, opponents dropped onto the surface. Chrono concluded that this entire establishment was behind the theft of these goods; not just some pests. Before he knew it, the Urchin was also taken hostage. "I take that back." Chrono added, "They do know what wizards are, but Mashyuu..." Chrono walked seemingly carefree towards the threat. "I wonder if they know what we're made of." Chrono stopped inches away from his target. "An inch..." Chrono described, "Move an inch, and you'll experience a world of pain. Understood?" One could imagine it if they wanted to. Trails of sand followed Chrono wherever he went, after all, and nobody dared touch his sand without asking. Though low in rank, this sand could not be ranked. It had so much potential, and alongside Chrono, could achieve anything. A Slayer and Supreme Sand King. Was teamwork about to unfold?

Stepping into the shop Mashyuu sniffed the air and frowned. "Oh what a pain.." He whispered while the door shut behind him and a punk stepped into the room while the Shop keep pulled up a large mace. From the other side of the shop the kid who sold these guys out was being held hostage by a larger man. The only thing standing between Mashyuu and the Shop keeper was a counter with items displayed on it.

Mashyuu let his eyes close for a moment while Chrono started to move. A low sigh fell from Mashyuu's lips while his left arm ran through his mop of brown hair. "I promise that if you don't let that kid go, and give up the stolen goods, you won't have a shop left to sell things with. I'm a very violent guy and I have already had it with dealing with this job. I don't know about my friend here but he's already give me more than enough earth to cast any of my spells. Not to mention your walls are brick. Here let me show you what I mean."

The man holding the kid who had given Mashyuu and Chrono tilted his head and Mashyuu pointed at the wall behind the man, his voice was light and easy. "Earth Wall." Mashyuu muttered and a large stone wall shot out from the wall behind the man, cracking into the back of his head and knocking him out on contact. The boy fell to his knees and looked back to the door that was near by, with a greatful smile he twisted around and took off out the back door. He pointed at a clump of sand and let it tighten into a small ball hard as rock and float up to Mashyuu's index finger. "Earth Bullet..." He muttered and launched a stone straight into the forehead of the man at Chrono's side, leaving only the man with a mace left. "All yours kid, take him out and lets wrap this job up."

Post by Chrono 16th June 2016, 6:37 pm

Chrono examined his opposition while he had the chance, all while Mashyuu caused some chaos in the background. He could not sense any magic power, but the lad was holding a mace. He must have known what he was up against, right? If this was correct, then this tough guy must be a skilled one with his weapon. Unfortunately for the same lad, he could not move, or else he'd suffer from Chrono's absurdly threatening sand. Yes, almost all thought sand was just a little dirt, but not in Chrono's case. Need these fools forget that the impact from Chrono's sand could pierce through titanium if Chrono so held that desire. His sand was controlled by will, after all. The only thing Chrono couldn't do with this sand was increase its magical strength - hence his D-Ranked status, now that he thought about it.

According to the looks on the enemy, the enemy was convinced that he indeed could not move an inch without getting hurt. He was unsupported, with all of his folks defeated around him. This was the doing of Mashyuu anyway. Chrono had not done much yet, but he was about to defeat this supposed leader in front of him. He continued to examine the man. He finally took charge, but alas, the mace-holder could not touch Chrono, for in an instant, a pyramid of sand filled with sand spikes consumed the foe, collapsing on him too. The mace was still held firmly in his hand, however, which is why Chrono had to stay away. The enemy became more angry under these circumstances, ruthlessly charging at Chrono, though again, Chrono utilized his sand once more. This time, he surrounded himself in a sand sphere, which knocked the enemy back, the mace now set aside. This was when Chrono could end it. "Adios." Chrono concluded, his foot violently stomped upon the threat's face, hard enough to break through the ground a little, the impact knocking the boy out.

"It's over." Chrono confirmed with Mashyuu. He proceeded to collect the goods that were initially set as a trap, and left with his comrades. The Magic Council was summoned soon afterwards to clean up the mess. Many surrounding the pawn shop thanked him along the way for defeating the little bugger inside - Mashyuu too for the crooks. Chrono overestimated the dangers, to be honest. He was a little disappointed, discovering no magic essence within any of those past troubles. Whatever. He had just done something nice for the community alongside a new friend and his smaller companions. He hoped he would encounter Mashyuu again, but until then, they had to part ways. The last sign Chrono would give to Mashyuu was a smile before transportation brought him to the whereabouts of the owner of these goods. After that, Chrono could finally make his way back home - home sweet home.
