Born in a small village outside of Magnolia Soroki grew up as any child of a non-magic descent or so he was told. He along with his childhood friends would get themselves into some sort of trouble on a daily basis. The village where Soroki was born was a nestled between two mountains of no notable size but one of them seemed to be hiding from plane sight at a distance farther than the village its self which Soroki wouldn't come to find out until later in life. Soroki's father was never present at home because he had to "work" though this was very strange because not even his mother knew what his father did and he was never even found near the village while working and it was a rather puzzling mystery which lead Soroki's parents into a dispute later on in life.
On a warm summer day when Soroki was at the age of 10 he wandered off near the hidden mountain and forest which acted as a pathway of sorts to said mountain. While wandering along he saw a white light off in the distance shining brightly through the darkness that covered the forest floor because of the thick canopy of tree branches overhead. Soroki ran after the light wondering what it was and as he drew closer to it he could make out a figure within the ball of light, it was tiny and seemed almost like a firefly but there was no mistaking the shape of a 4 winged dragon. The Dragon would not stop so that Soroki could catch up but there was a faint voice he could here though it wasn't in his native tongue and he couldn't understand it at all but he could tell it was an old and lost language.
The ball of light lead Soroki to a cave which lead downwards into a cavern, at first Soroki was a little scared to enter the cave by himself but after the dragon flew in the ball of light that surrounded it gave light to everything within the cave so no shadows were left to scare the 10 year old boy. Crawling into the mouth of the cave and descending into it with the ball of light hovering not to far ahead of him leading the way, there were many twists and turns in the cave and he easily would have gotten lost without the guidance of the dragon. After a few minutes the cave seemed to change into something more of a holy ground as all the jaggedness of the cave seemed to smooth out and there were runes carved into the stone and glowed brightly.
Soroki slowed down as he entered this area for two reasons, the look of the runes in the walls were fascinating to him and he could hear even more voices now speaking in the same language as the dragon in the ball of light, there had to be at least 1000 voices speaking to him. Suddenly after turning a corner it lead into a grand room which had 10 pillars on each side of the room and at the end of the grand room was an alter, between each pillar a being of seemingly holy light stood as well as one which wore robes of white and gold standing at the alter and on the alter lay something with a drape over it. As soon as Soroki took in all there was to see in the room all of the beings of light began to chant in a voice that seemed to all be one in the same and it defied the obvious acoustics of the room, reverberating through all things within the room and even Soroki's very being so much so that he could be blind and deaf and still know and hear exactly what was going on.
As the chanting began the dragon within the ball of light seemed to raise to the ceiling and the ball that encompassed the dragon burst and as it burst the dragon returns to its original size, a massive dragon with 4 wings which took up the entire upper area of the room float there looking down on Soroki. The chanting never stopped but when the dragon spoke Soroki could hear his words as if there was no background noise at all, "Soroki, Son of Therion and Descendant of Merlin the great elemental mage...Step to the alter and claim your prize... Take up the Holy Shard and become a Lightsworn, I Seith the Holy Dragon will be your guide as the Deity of this blade." Whether it was fear or obligation Soroki can never say to this day but he stepped forward to the alter and was presented the Holy Shard, once the sword was in his palms everything around him vanished, the runes carved in the walls along with the beings of light and even Seith. The room was just a normal stone room now void of all light but suddenly a voice could be heard from the blade that spoke the words 'Light' in the ancient tongue of the Lightsworn and suddenly a path was light up on the floor that lead to the exit.
After exiting the cave Soroki went home yet he felt different, he felt more grown up than any 10 year old had ever seen and he felt obligated to do what was right and be the righteous warrior to wield the Holy Shard he was given. He snuck the sword into his home and hid it under his bed, ate dinner with his mother then went to bed not even know the surprises the next day would hold for him. In the morning he was greeted by his mother shaking him happily yelling about his father. Opening his eyes slowly he could see the face of both his mother and father smiling over him which was a rare site indeed. Soroki instantly jumped up and hugged his father who swung him around a few times before setting him down and the three simply talked.
At breakfast however, Soroki's father seemed rather quiet and kept his head down until halfway through the meal when his father addressed his mother telling her that he must take Soroki with him this time. She was immediately angered because she didn't even understand what he meant and thought she was taking him far far away. His father for the first time explained to Soroki and his mother what is what that he actually did and his explanation went something like this: "I am Therion, Descendant of the great mage Merlin and as such it is my duty to serve the order of Lightsworn. I am a high guardian of the great one, the Holiest of holy dragons that is why I cannot be around often because my job is very dangerous. I must take Soroki to the temple and have him begin his training." Therion said as he put both his palms on the table face up and used a Lightsworn spell to summon Soroki's sword from under his bed to in his fathers hands. Soroki looked on with awe as he father continued to speak, "Our Son has finally been summoned to the Order of Lightsworn by the Holy Dragon Seith, one of the Righteous 4 Dragons. Soroki may not know it now but he has been granted a great power and now Seith will lead him on the path to become one of the 4 Righteous Bearers, a select few he surpass the power of all other Lightsworns...even myself."
Later that day Soroki was brought to the temple with his father, his father returned to his duty and Soroki was looked after by some of the Lightsworn monks, the Monk's are those who do not have magic but still follow the Lightsworn ways. After the teaching sessions he had to go through with the Monks he was brought into a circular room which had seats around it, Soroki had counted 7 in total. Soroki was told to have a seat in the center of the room while he awaited the presence of the Lightsworn masters who would evaluate his power and compatability with Seith. Not 5 minutes passed and a processions of men wearing robes similar to that of the one whom presented him with the sword the previous day. The all stood in front of their chairs examining the boy then sat down all at once as one began to spoke. "This is the boy whom I presented with the power and guidance of Seith the Holy Dragon." and Soroki came to the realization that the man speaking was the one who stood at the alter the day before, "He has a good set of Morales and he is the son of one of our most reliable guardian's, Therion."
After the evaluation with the council things seemed to start to move fast even though the process of actually becoming a Lightsworn mage takes a very long time, the time did pass. While Soroki was at the temple with his father they rarely got to see each other because the job of a guardian was the hardest because they made sure no one brought harm to the chamber of holy dragons, a place that even the Lightsworn masters couldn't even enter. The only ones who can enter the chamber are the wielders of the Holy Shards that belong to the Righteous Dragon group which Soroki was apart of because of Seith but he was not allowed to enter the chamber until he had mastered the shard and forged it into Excalibur.
The path to becoming a full-blown Lightsworn swordsman takes no less than 12 years at its shortest time and in that time Soroki improved upon several things, his swordsmanship went from having never touched a sword to being one of the temples best swordsman by even being able to best his father. He learned the magics of the Lightsworn and how to use them in harmony with the Holy shard and he learned the many ways and secrets of the Lightsworn. Now a 22 year old man Soroki left the Temple because he had learned all that the Masters had to teach him, they told him that his power can now only be furthered by venturing out into the world and discovering the path of Lightsworn on his own. Returning home Soroki had a dramatic reunion with his mother and he stayed there for a few weeks before moving on into the real world and joining the Rune Knights so that he may bring Light to a darkened world.
