Magic.
So.
Much.
Magic.
Magnolia was a huge city but if Alye knew her brother well then she figured he would be just near the center. Somewhere near Fairy Tail. Everywhere her blue eyes fell, she witnessed different levels of frolicking and partying. Was this Heero's world? She was flying about a meter or two above the crowds but no one seemed to even notice her. It was like it was completely normal at one of these functions. How could they possibly be so carefree? They were a
huge target out here in the open like this. If there was one thing that dark mages hated, it was when Fairies were having a good time.
Even for someone of her skill level, sifting through all this ambient magical power was challenging. When people cut loose, sometimes the cap on their power did as well. Alye sensed so many magical essences wafting up at her that she had to stop and filter through them. Some flickered like flames while others were as solid and stoic like ice. She dismissed them and sifted deeper. She sensed the familiar tingle of lightning magics or the wafting presence of wind magics. No, none of these we're Heero's... Alye's eyes snapped open. Somewhere in the middle of all these people, all this
chaos... She felt something peculiar.
Starlight.
The white-haired woman opened her eyes slowly as she turned to her right.
There. Baby-blue hair glinted in the moon's gleam. Alye's hand came up to her mouth as her blue eyes welled up with tears. She smiled shakily as she just hovered for a moment, watching her little brother have a good time.
You cut your hair... Alye didn't know why but it made her cry even more. She flashed back to
years ago, when they were just little kids. When Heero got his first haircut. He'd only let Alye cut it - no one else. He shooed away even the most famous stylists in Fiore and left that one memory, that one job, for his big sister. She glanced down and saw the scarf wrapped lovingly around his neck. Her eyes softened until they shimmered with her tears.
Her little brother was all grown up now.
She angled herself forward and began flying in his direction. She was content on just watching him have a good time but he sensed her only moments later. She smiled a bit at him when her eyes met his. Even from a couple hundred feet away, she could feel his aura. He'd gotten so powerful, but he was still her little brother. She didn't say anything as her feet touched the ground. How could she? Tears were flowing down her face and she was doing everything in her power not to make a rainstorm overhead. Then he was there, with his forehead rested against her's. Just like how they used to sleep with their parents when they were toddlers. Comfort washed over Alye's whole being as she sobbed just a bit.
"I...I'm so-" "When you disappeared, I...I interrogated Eclipse Soul...I.....I did everything, there was no trace, no nothing." Guilt rocked Alye to the core. He
looked for her. How could she have doubted her brother's love? They were the last family each other had left. When he pulled her close, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, hugging him as tightly as she could.
"I.....I love you so much, Alye-nii." Alye chuckled a little bit as she smiled.
"I love you too."His sister giggled at him again after he said her cloak wasn't appropriate for a festival of this level. She looked away a bit as she blushed.
"I thought you might say that so I bought this little number..." Alye unclasped her cloak and threw it to the side to reveal a dazzlingly deep red - a color she doesn't often don - dress that cinched at her waist but billowed out at the bottom like a premium ball gown. She even had the Fairy Tail emblem added in for that extra effect.
The next couple of moments were too hectic for Alye to even explain. She'd felt the same rapid temporal disturbances that Heero felt as the attacker closed in with teleportation. Her senses were a bit sharper though as she was also able to gauge the man's movements by the air currents he ripped through when he teleported. Pale blue lightning crackled to life on Alye's fingertips but before she could pinpoint exactly where he was coming from, he was already behind Heero. Alye moved forward as quickly as she could but horror blossomed in her eyes as she saw the man about to impale her brother.
...
And then he was on the ground. And there was someone strikingly familiar sitting on top of him.
"G...Goddess Alyia?" She hadn't seen her since...well, Eclipse Soul. How many more of her former guildmates were here?! Alye's surprise was replaced with anger though. She eyed the assassin wearily. She would not let this go unpunished... But just as he was here, he was gone. Alye was still on guard though. Who knows who else might try something... Just like his signature self, Heero was in good spirits about it and soon Alye found herself hoisted into the air and onto her brother's shoulders. Only moments later, Deniel of all people melded into existence from a bright white light. Alye looked over at Aly-chan and smiled a bit as she hugged her old guildmate.
It felt good to be home.
