It seemed that he would be greeted by someone just as he was about to leave to explore on his own. He turned to face one of the other entrances, from which the voice had emanated. It was man dressed in a rather smart suit and very well kept together for one who apparently inhabited this castle. The head of the guard no less. Though it was a rather strange attire for a guardsman to wear. Perhaps the guild imposed some form of dress code? Though that would be rather odd for a guild to do. "Before I answer your questions I would like to make a suggestion that might help in the defense of this building. Not all who enter here would know this is the Citadel that houses the guild known as Savage Skull." he said and moved a stray hair out of his vision. "It would perhaps be wiser to keep that secret incase the one you are asking is not a friend of the guild and is powerful enough to destroy it. A B rank, or even a C rank earth mage could bring this down quite quickly. A plant mage possibly even faster. Thus, in my humble opinion, it would be wiser not to reveal who you are immediately until you know more of the situation don't you agree?" He added taking a step towards this so called captain of the guard.
It was almost laughable really. In that one sentence he had revealed that this building was the citadel that housed Savage Skull, that there were guards who had likely seen him enter and that he lead them. Those were all useful bits of information. He'd even revealed his name. Now, if he was so inclined and had his full power at his disposal than he could take control of this man and use him to either get close to certain individuals or order the guards to do something. Though that would rely on the guards being loyal to this man which wasn't clear.
"You ask what business I have? An interesting question with many possible answer. Well, it can be probably divided into five or six options. 1. I am here to attack the guild or its inhabitants, perhaps assasinate the guildmaster, 2. I am here as an ambassador or some kind of messenger or delivery person, 3. I am here to surrender to the guild out of fear, 4. I am here to join the guild or 5. I am simply lost. No...yes...definitely six as I could also be here as a scout or distraction. Though I suppose option 1, 2 and 6 could be split into two each." he said quite calmly and with an air of intelligence to his tone. He liked speaking in rather long winded statements nowadays. Not because he wanted to spend so much time talking, but more because the longer he spoke the more he had a chance to observe and think. It also allowed him to steer the conversation in ways to generate potential reactions and learn about people. Furthermore, it separated him from his tribal days and kept people focused on him. He didn't really have any need to separate himself from those days of his past personally, but he had found that people reacted so badly when they found you were obviously part of some ancient tribe of savage warriors. "There are likely more, but those are the most obvious. Option one can likely be eliminated as if I was here to destroy or assasinate it would be foolish to walk straightforward into the guild, especially solo, unless I'm certain I can deceive the inhabitants long enough to achieve my goal and escape. I also gave options for tightening up defenses slightly so it does seem unlikely unless that is part of my plan to put you off your guard. Darkness of course would normally give an edge, but against a guild housed in the spooky forest? I doubt it. Option two is possible as I am carrying a suitcase, the contents of which could be anything, a message, documents, a rare item.I'm also dressed quite formally which may suit that of an ambassador. Option three is not likely as I would likely have already done so." He took a breath at this point and used the moment to more carefully observe his conversation partner. The man had an air of confidence about him. He was quite confident in his abilities, but he also seemed out of place somehow. It was hard to place. It was almost like seeing a pear on an apple tree. Yet he could not place his finger quite on what it was. That was irritating though he did not let it show on his face. This man had certainly peaked his curiousity. He had been wise to come here if only to learn more of this Captain of the guards." Option four is quite possible. I came in quite confidently and began looking around, perhaps for someone to talk to about joining. Option 5 could also be possible, but seems unlikely. I appear quite calm, collected and not at all overjoyed to see someone who might be of some help. Six is highly possible as i've been speaking for quite a while, long enough for some action to occur by an ally of some kind. Perhaps the magic council are using me as a target for some new weapon." He smiled and set the suitcase down and adjusted his tie slightly. It would be rather interesting to see how he reacted to such a long winded statement. After all, few people spent time talking and were generally much more straight forward than Veil.
"Now Captain Dubhlainn.." he said executing the pronounciation of the rather complex name perfectly after hearing it just once. A feat in itself as it was not a common name and if you saw it written down it would not be clear how to pronounce it. To do so after hearing it just once could be considered impressive to some. He did not find it so, but others did. "...I realise I have spoken for a while and not given you a straight answer, but truth is a fog and thus my actions can be interpreted in many different ways. It is always...refreshing shall we say...to see someone come to their own version of the truth and so I ask you this. What do you think my buisness is? Oh and let me give you a hint." With that his magic power seemed to surge slightly and his eyes grew brighter as the image of a large winged humanoid figure with no visible flesh appeared behind him. It had powerful muscles and strong bones that shone quite brightly. A shadow passed across his face that to most would be quite menacing. Yet the image and the shadow only lasted for a few seconds. "So which option is it? Take your time to think I am in no rush. I would prefer a well thought out answer then one 'off the shelf' so to speak"
