Itori sighed as she slowly allowed her human form to disappear, replaced by her Kumiho form. It just felt a whole lot more natural than her human form, and right now she didn't need the advantages that the human form offered. Sure, her illusions weren't quite as powerful in her Kumiho form, but these slavers weren't of a level where she had to worry about them detecting anything. They weren't powerful mages or particularly perceptive. At most they could be said to be suspicious, but that just meant that she should avoid drawing their attention.
Of course she still kept up the illusion which disguised her as a slaver. Being able to both change her shape and create illusions which made her appear different could sometimes be a hassle, but in this case it meant she could use her Kumiho form without it being seen by these mundane humans. Sniffing the air and twitching her ears Itori frowned, as she heard the sounds of battle from upstairs. Actually, she could hear two. It looked like Mashyuu had gotten started with his fight, and if what she could sense was any indication the male part of the siblings was also busy. Itori just hoped they could deal with their respective enemies without needing her help, since she could hear people coming her way. She would have to deal with those first before she could see what the others needed and if she could offer it to them.
Although honestly the people chasing her were most likely the unlucky ones. Itori wasn't very good with mercy when it came to slavers, and she wanted to get rid of them quick.
Footsteps were about a dozen, all males, and their souls weren't too impressive, although there were two worth watching. Would be troublesome if she had to deal with all that on her own. Luckily she was in the depths of a slaver ship, who most certainly had other things with them than just slaves, and was given a little headache of a demon to help her out. Itori headed straight towards the hold, the lowest and deepest part of the ship she could find where they hadn't bothered putting the slaves because other things had already been hidden in there. Why only deal in slavery when you could also do some light smuggling on the side? And seeing how she already had heard two explosions up there, and she knew how to use explosives...
First things first though, she'd need the demon's help. Itori had moved towards the deepest part of the ship as fast as possible, and now pointed at her shadow, making several hand signals. As despicable as demons are they're usually also very clever, so she expected this one to not need any more complex commands than the one she had just given it to be able to do what she wanted it to do. Sure enough, while it made another vulgar gesture at her (she was going to eat that little thing after this was over) the demon disappeared back upstairs, where he would lead the slavers into this direction. It would take a while since he first had to attract their attention, and since Itori could move rather fast when she needed, but that was all right since Itori still needed to prepare her surprise for the slavers.
Looking around Itori closed her eyes and sniffed, quickly catching the acrid smell of gunpowder and explosives. If you had smelled it once you could recognize it anywhere. Dropping her disguise the Kumiho got to work gathering all the explosives, then rearranging them throughout the hull as she heard the footsteps above mull around, before the yelling started and they became hurried again. Looked like the demon had managed to catch their attention. Now to hope she could finish her own part of the plan before they got here. The slavers were pretty fast, and the demon had managed to get them to chase him faster than she had expected...
Eventually Itori had to give up on furthering her plan. It was already basically complete, but she had hoped to improve upon it a bit to ensure she would get every single one of the slavers. Well, this should already do the trick. If one happened to remain standing afterwards she would just have to take care of them herself. A task she wasn't looking forward to, but one couldn't be picky when they had a time limit attached to their work. For now the Kumiho retreated to the wall right next to the entrance to this particular section of the hold, lying in wait.
The demon didn't take much longer to burst into the hold, followed by the group of slavers who were searching for the one who had allowed the slaves to escape. Itori rolled her eyes as the demon was now dancing on top of one of the barrels, shaking his behind at the slavers and giving them the finger. Honestly she didn't know where Mashyuu got his hands on such a bratty demon, but she would be having words with him afterwards about it. Well, her own version of words, since she wouldn't actually be talking. Maybe just write down the words and give them to him. However that was for later.
While the slavers all looked confused at the demon who was just making fun of them at this point Itori slipped out, then summoned nine pale blue small flames at the same time as she dropped her disguise. One of the slavers happened to notice the new light and turned around, raising a hand to point at her and shout a warning. However at that point Itori had already sent her Kitsunebi towards the nine knots she had placed throughout the hold, nine places which, once ignited, would cause the network of explosions that Itori had set up to explode nearly simultaneously. Since she had anticipated the slavers to stay near the entrance the concentration was thickest there, which meant she had to retreat a fair bit before launching her ghost flames.
Everybody on the ship would be able to both hear and feel it as suddenly a good part of the hull was ripped apart by a series of explosions much larger than the couple of dynamite sticks that the siblings have been using. The entire ship shook and shuddered, although it didn't go so far as to outright collapse.
Itori drew her katana and peered through the smoke, trying to see if there was still a slaver alive that she had to take care of. However when the smoke cleared the only thing she saw was the wreckage she had created with that little stunt. An entire section of the ship was just missing, and the immediate surroundings were an utter mess. If it wasn't for Itori being very careful when placing the explosives this would most likely have made the entire ship tear in half. As it was she would rather get off before it decided to do that anyway. As for the slavers, Itori wrinkled her nose as she saw the bloody and ripped remains. Not a single one of them had managed to survive that sudden barrage of explosive might. Which had been her intention, but seeing torn off limbs, exploded ribcages, and several other body parts which weren't supposed to be treated like that still made her leave this part of the ship quickly.
So, a good part of the slavers had been disabled permanently, and she was pretty sure that the two allies of hers that remained on the ship were taking care of the high priority targets. It was a good thing that the bounty only stated that the leaders had to be captured alive, because otherwise Itori would just have made her allies lose a hefty sum of money. Then again, better that than having to kill all the slavers one by one.
