Primary Magic: Spatial Devourer
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description:
Spatial Devourer is a form of spatial magic that permits the user some level of domination of the area around them as they’re able to manipulate the environment and its perception. It allows the user some passive options such as quicker travel during more peaceful times and the ability to teleport about during combat, while also permitting them to bend or tear space temporarily for offensive or defensive measures. Other offensive, defensive, or supportive options might lie in things stored in an alternate space that the user can call upon or moving objects within the existing environment.
Born from the combination of both of her clans (Cheshire and Barghest) with the aid of one of her ancestors Mao gained this stylized form of spatial magic. Rifts created often appear to sport “teeth” and act like a mouth rather than any proper tear, some of them going so far as to sport ethereal tails (not unlike that of comets) that match Sorrow’s fur or clouds of the ethereal fur might represent created distortions. The magic tends to be more connected to her body, such as the ability to “taste” and actually “devour” things that pass into/through the rifts (even if they merely pass through and leave through another tear she might still remark on the taste of the spell or object). While this variation also tends to leave Mao with an enlarged appetite it grants her the ability to eat anything without repercussions, although not everything will taste great.
As it’s a magic born from her clans and their abilities, some of the magic also derives from some of Mao’s animalistic nature and predisposition towards being a predator, as well as her ancestral forms. While other spatial "devourers" might veer more towards simple destruction of materials or hiding of weapons, her's is used to empower organic weapons that can appear around her body from the tears in space - generally in the form of tendrils, but can have their shape manipulated to a degree as needed (such as petals, stingers, long talons, and so on so forth). These constructs gain their strength from her voracious appetite and some of the unusual materials devoured. Not all things that come forth however are meant to rend and tear, some aspects used instead to help allies in various ways.

Lineage:
Unique Abilities:
Immune System: Thanks to Sorrow’s built up immunity system, Mao’s body becomes more resistant towards pathogens and toxins thanks to their bond. Every three posts she can feast on a status condition and heal 5% from it. She no longer falls prey to food-based illness, but is aware of how it affects a dish taste-wise.
Questionable Digestion: Sorrow is a devourer, near constantly eating with little else to do. Gaining the ability from her ancestor, the constant chowing provides Mao with a passive 2% health regen while the greed also boosts the efforts of healing spells from others, increasing their effects by 50% by converting extra food. With the exception of requip items and summons, there is little else Mao’s spatially-enhanced stomach cannot digest and feel satisfied from.
Predator Arsenal: Capable of creating up to four malleable tendrils from tears in space near her body that can stretch up to 8 meters. While she can control whether they're smooth as silk or hardened with spikes, at the cost of distance she can turn them into temporary shields, taking on a petal-like form though they only reach up to 4 meters. At S-rank she gains an additional two tendrils.
Cheshire Whims: Though the blood of the Cheshire Cat tends to be less obvious, acting more as an enhancement/augmentation to other bloodlines, those of the Cheshire Cat always have some form of free movement. This allows Mao to teleport and access places that might be harder to travel too, however in pvp duels the ability can only be used once per post.
Barghest’s Calling: Once every three posts, Mao can recall one of her spells to her, causing anything between it and her to take half the spell’s rank in damage. Normally she’s able to manipulate her spells however, but without added damage.

These constructs gain their strength from her voracious appetite and some of the unusual materials devoured. Not all things that come forth however are meant to rend and tear, some aspects used instead to help allies in various ways.
Strengths:
- Movement: Being a large part spatial magic (even copying parts of the beast to summon them), the user gains a wider range of movement not only with the occasional teleportation spell in combat, but outside as well. Some places should still be avoided or accessed with patience however, such as locked bathrooms, but otherwise the user is free to go as they please.
- Spatial Awareness: The magic leaves the user hyper aware of the things going on around them to the point they have to actively ignore or train themselves to lower the senses so as not to be overwhelmed. This does grant them awareness of things going on around them however, making it trickier to sneak up on the practitioner or do things without their knowledge.
- Devour: Every so often a mouth can manifest to eat an inanimate object, from a heap of dirt to a tree. Devoured objects are either used to keep Mao’s appetite under control or for the sake of spells.
Weaknesses:
- Casualties: It can be just as potentially harmful to allies as it can be helpful if they wander into the path of quick or wide-ranged spells. Nothing like a little love bite.
- Diet Clause: Despite such a good digestive system summons and requip items cannot be devoured. Takeover magic also can’t be logically devoured, making it an annoying magic to fight.
- Elements: Lacking any elemental basis, neither suffer additive damage from elemental spells. Without elemental inclinations they do not gain any strengths either.
- Voracious Appetite: Perhaps due more to the appetite of the bonded entity than the actual usage of the magic, it does leave the user with quite the hunger at times if she can’t keep on top of it. Become too hungry and everything and anyone might start to look tasty.

- Spoiler:
- Magician's Spirit
Description: he first human gifted with the ability of magic became a powerful Sage of wisdom, and was the messenger of the Gods. Able to lift up mountains, part the oceans, conjure meteors, summon massive tornadoes, Open black holes out of thin air, call upon the stars themselves to come to his aid. However, he was not immortal, and though he did magnificent deeds and told the word of the Gods; he knew he would not live forever and that they would choose another. Unable to let go of his duties, he chained his spirit to the physical world so it can inherit a new host, and transfer his powers to them. Doing this however, relinquished all of his omnipotent power. Those who inherit his spirit, will gain him as a mentor of guidance; but will need to unlock the power of the magic themselves.
Ability: 25% increase to base MP as well as 25% to spell damage, ability to identify the enemies magic (Whether it's good / evil, elements, and general nature). Ability to summon mage to fight, able to communicate with an ancient spirit with vast information.
Usage: The user will passively gain an increase of MP and Spell power, as well as have the old Sage appear when needed for guidance. They can however, summon the mage to perform a powerful spell in times of great crises once per thread. Doing this however, will drain the user of their available magic, and relinquish the Sage's wisdom and guidance for the rest of the thread as well as suffering the effects of having 0% MP. The user must have at least 20% MP to summon the Sage to attack.
Spell: Flare of Solaria- Crash of the Majestic Sun; The Sage will appear next to the user and conjures a Meteor to fall from the sky upon a 30 meter radius + 15 per rank beyond D with an explosion of fifteen meter radius beyond that (+5 per rank beyond D), for 200% user-ranked spell damage. Range is 30 meters + 15 per rank above D away from the user.

Spells:
- Signature:
Name: Change Places!
Rank: D-rank Signature
Type: Utility
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 2 posts
Description: An innate spell reliant more upon senses and intuition sometimes than full thought-planning. Choosing a target, Mao is able to swap places with the target, only a second’s dark blue glow encasing them before the switch. Requires she be within 20meters of her chosen target, and can only affect allies, NPCs, or enemy NPCs/monsters without OOC permission.
Strengths:- Can swap with another enemy to let them take an attack for her.
- Can be used to save an ally from an attack.
Weaknesses:- Only works on allies and NPC characters/enemies.
- Must be within 20meters of the target.
- Even if someone else is saved it places Mao in danger.

- Can swap with another enemy to let them take an attack for her.
- D-rank:
Name: Pack Healing
Rank: D
Type: Healing
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 5 posts
Description: Snapping her fingers, , a glowing dark blue ring will pass over three select targets. At the same time wisps of the cloud-like fur will wrap around a few wounds to prevent bleeding while they apply a healing aura to the areas. Affected allies and/or Mao will find their health renewing 5% per post and relieved of a single status effect from a spell of equal rank. Can heal up to 3 people total. Removes the most recently applied status effect.
Strengths:- Stops bleeding.
- Heals allies a little (up to 10%) as well as removes a single status effect.
Weaknesses:- The glowing rings will give away their position if they’re trying to hide.
- The healing wisps can be removed by opponents.
- The more times used/people helped, the hungrier she becomes, and the tastier they might look
Name: Spatial Interference
Rank: D
Type: Utility
Duration: 3
Cooldown: 5
Description: A cloud of disrupted space forms around Mao, the unstable force ripping at magical forces like mini claws and reduces the power behind attacks by ½ if they pass through the field. To foes the mist appears as a dark blue, but to allies it appears as a very light haze hardly hindering their vision. The cloud stretches up to 15m.
Strengths:- Doesn’t affect allies due to her affinity towards the person.
- Weakens foes’ attacks/spells.
- Mildly reduces enemy visibility.
Weaknesses:- Deals no damage.
- Can be blown away.
- Doesn’t affect physical abilities/damage.
- Doesn’t move with her.
Name: Enhanced Arsenal
Rank: D
Type: Utility
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: A spell that if used too often can lead to increased hunger levels, the various, odder things Mao’s devoured are converted into minerals to boost her tendrils abilities. This allows them one of two avenues depending on the form. When in their attack form it allows each tendril to deal an additional 1/4 D-rank of damage on top of their regular damage. When in their defensive form it allows the tendrils to take either two D-rank spells or one C-rank spell worth of damage without being harmed.
Strengths:- Provides a defensive capability.
- Provides an increased offensive capability.
Weaknesses:- Increases hunger levels the more it’s used.
- Only one option may be used at a time and cannot be swapped.
- Can only affect up to two pairs of tendrils.
Name: Feline Delusions
Rank: D
Type: Illusion
Duration: 2
Cooldown: 3
Description: A fun little spell, Mao will create a fang-filled portal that appears like a grinning feline and fire it towards a person or group of small enemies. Triggered by sight, the mouth will appear to rocket towards its “chosen target/s” and grow quite large before consuming them. When they next blink they’ll see chunks of their body spread in the area, floating as though dismembered, yet without a hint of gore. The perspective may make moving a little freaky and wonky to get used to where one’s actual limbs are compared to what they see – as long as the person isn’t blind.
Strengths:- Can affect up to 3 weak enemies in jobs. Only one RPC in pvp.
- Triggers upon a target seeing the grinning smile
- Creates a minor window of opportunity by disorienting opponents.
Weaknesses:- Doesn’t work on mages who use spatial magic.
- Doesn’t work on the blind.
- Ineffective on mages B-rank and above.
- Only works for a single post on C-rank mages.
- Stops bleeding.
- C-rank:
Name: Distortion
Rank: C
Type: Utility/Defensive
Duration: 1
Cooldown: 5
Description: Requires Mao to create a marble-sized sphere that she can either then direct somewhere with a whim, or it’ll orbit her shoulders until an attack comes too close. Once activated or interacting with a magical force the sphere rapidly expands into a 10ft tall tear in space and closes back up into a tiny sphere. From there Mao can redirect the sphere’s location and release the attack back at its source, the momentum of the move going unhindered. While it can be used to defend a quick physical attack or flurry they naturally don’t rebound, the other end of the portal appearing within a 5ft radius of her and attacking something else nearby. It can fully affect spells equal to Mao’s rank, ½ affect spells a rank higher, and is completely ineffective against those 2 ranks higher. Physically it can block up to 2 physical strikes equal to her rank before disappearing.
Strengths:- Rebounds a single attack towards the opponent
- Can defend against physical attacks
- Quickly manifests, may unnerve opponents
Weaknesses:- Redirection requires hand movements, telegraphing her target
- Redirected physical attacks have a limited range and cannot be used on the attacker
- A quick-use spell
- Redirected attacks can still be dodged
Name: Compression
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Duration: 2/Instant
Cooldown: 5
Description: A spell that can be held for a later use, Mao must either create a ping-pong ball sized orb or an arrow – or two of each if she chooses to split up the spell’s power. Upon activation, the orb/arrow rapidly grows into a slightly larger orb revealing a dark and crystallizing mass inside, the orb 4ft in diameter (2ft if the power is split) that then explodes in a 120 degree angle with sharp shards spraying up to 30m (15m in lesser form). The shards remain for a post after explosion before fading.
Strengths:- Deals C-rank damage, can be split to deal D-rank per orb/arrow
- Can deal AoE damage if initial blast is escaped
Weaknesses:- Allies can get caught up in the blast
- Works like a directional mine, making it avoidable if one gets out of the angle
- Easily deflected/dodged near the end of its ranged blast
Name: Makeshift Gatling
Rank: C
Type: Offensive/Healing
Duration: 1 post
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: Creating a fang-filled portal over an object or section of land, it’ll become consumed and broken down inside the space or compacted. Part of the materials will be converted into food, healing Mao for 5% while the rest are merely broken or compressed into sharp chunks of varying sizes, some shards the size of a golf ball while others might be as thick as a baseball and a foot in length. From there Mao can create a second portal that’ll fire the debris towards a single target (or multiple if they’re tiny things such as imps), dealing ranked damage. Can only fire them up 10meters from the portal.
Strengths:- Provides a small heal.
- The portal can be aimed in a wide array of angles and directions.
- A wide array of materials may be used.
Weaknesses:- Firing direction cannot be changed once set.
- Short firing range.
- Damage may vary depending on how much the opponent gets hit.
- Can’t be used in some scenarios (such as in the air or on a boat), and materials may not always work to one’s advantage (such against earth slayers or those with certain elemental strengths).
- Rebounds a single attack towards the opponent
- B-rank:
Name: Pin-Point Hunger
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: A quick spell, Mao will take on a stance as if she's about to fire an arrow at someone, though without "releasing the arrow" (or even having to hold a bow for that matter) a fang-filled disconnected mouth will shoot off and devour things in its path (non-magical) or seek to shred them (magical). For this reason it could be used to counter another spell or merely for damage with a little regenerative properties since it grants Mao 8% health back for devouring some regular objects in its path. The spell can be split up into 2 C-rank attacks or as low as 4 D-rank attacks, the size halving with each split as well. Singularly the mouth is 4ft in height and travels at 25m/s when fired, able to go as far as 50 meters.
Strengths:- Can be split up to attack multiple targets.
- Heals a little.
Weaknesses:- Splitting the spell weakens it and makes it easier to avoid.
- Spells of equal rank can cancel out the mouth(s).
- Only heals if an object with substance is in the path (so dust/air do not count towards healing).
Name: Hunter’s Trap
Rank: B
Type: Utility/Offensive
Duration: 4
Cooldown: 5
Description: Creating copies of the tendril(s), Mao can implant them into little pocket spaces as traps for enemies to stumble upon. Able to create up to four total per post, the more she makes the more the power is split between each as they can only do a total of B-rank damage pet set. However damage isn’t the primary purpose as they can latch onto enemies, hooking into flesh via spines and needles to try and delay opponents or keep them in one place. As they’re hidden in pocket dimensions, those without items or magic to see or sense such spaces are more likely to accidentally stumble into them. Regardless of strength each copy can reach up to 8 meters and strike at 20m/s.
Strengths:- Can snag opponents to harmfully delay them.
- Acts as a surprise attack.
Weaknesses:- Can be avoided with proper sight or sensory abilities/items.
- The more they’re split the weaker each copy is.
- Once activated they cannot be moved.
Name: Void Cloud
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Duration: 5
Cooldown: 6
Description: Creating a cloud around her, Mao becomes slightly enshrouded by a dark colored mist, though can still be spied through it. Expanding up to 30 meters around her, she remains at the epicenter of it at all times. The mist is only an enemy of the incautious, comprised of small particles that are harmless until one moves too fast through it. Exceeding 90% of one’s unmodified and natural speed, enemies will start finding themselves cut up by the cloud. Those who exceed 100% start taking extra damage per 10% as the sharp little specks are forced to dig further and further into their skin (an extra D-rank worth per 10%).
Strengths:- Grows in damage depending on enemies.
- Doesn’t affect the user
Weaknesses:- Harmless to breathe in.
- Damage depends on enemies.
- Can affect allies
- Can be split up to attack multiple targets.
