Wanted! Demolitions Expert (Job/Aria)

Job:

Elyx and Ignite, two peas in a pod, yet they could not have been any more different. The Violinist liked to keep things simple and the same, the She Phoenix always tried to do new things. For example, inviting ANOTHER girl to go on a job with Elyx, and the She Phoenix claimed that she was trying to get the Violinist a group of friends, but in truth, she just loved to see him struggle with talking to people. Some women are able to manipulate ones thoughts and make their minds go blank, and Ignite loved to see that happen. But this time, she chose someone with an actual heart, it had been a while since he had seen her around, so talking to her was not that much of a problem. Aria huh? And on an easy job as well, that's not too bad. Elyx said before getting his half naked body off of his bed. He would have to meet her soon, probably Town Square if the Violinist were to take his most accurate guess. The She Phoenix smiled as she watched him struggle to put on his clothing, he was tired after all. Once that had been done, he stretched his hands into the air and smiled before walking out of his room, then had to scale his mansion before exiting.

"Mommy look!" a child said to his mother as he pointed at the figure sitting by the bench at the town square. The stranger wore a porcelain mask with intricate markings and designs, and a long coat with a hood which was strange specially with the warm weather they are having today. The mother took a look at what her child was talking about and was a bit surprised at what she saw. "Come along now Erwin, its impolite to stare. Lets just leave the man alone ok?" she quietly told her son. "Im a her not a him." the stranger spoke out loud. The lady turned her head and bowed "Im sorry, couldnt tell with all that..." she just gestured at the attire that she was wearing. She bowed again and asked for one final apology before she dragged her little boy away from that scene as fast as she could. Well she cant really blame them, but still it annoyed her a bit. Why does she even have to hide her face when the real culprit is out there free to flaunt her face. And where the heck was her partner, he was suppose to be here by now.

Getting up, she dusted her cloak and said "Maybe i should take a stroll around first."

You're only going to get yourself lost if you do that. Elyx remarked as he noticed the one girl that wore her mask, it was such a long time that he actually never showed her face at all. This was the reason why he probably should have more friends, so he was able to confirm with their look and personality. Though he didn't get Aria's looks down, he was able to recall her personality just fine. Shy, innocent, and rather low on her self-esteem, at least those thing were revealed on the last job that the both of them went on. Now here she was, and she seemed to have grown, but her personality was not any different it seemed. Her tone was rather soft spoken, and the way she was moving still showed that she was not quite comfortable, even after all of this time. Hello there, I'm sorry about this idiot Phoenix girl over here. Elyx explained before pointing behind his back, addressing Ignite, who only smiled. It was clear that she had no regret with what she had done. Anyways, do you know what the job is? I mean what it's about. We have the description right here. The Violinist explained before shifting his right hand in his pocket, then pulled it out to reveal a four-folded piece of paper, the job request. He offered it to her by outstretching his arm, if she didn't know it, this was her chance.

Just as Aria was about to move out, a voice suddenly rang out. The voice was familiar, she had heard it before. She turned around and her suspicions were right, it was her partner, and his pet bird?It had been a while since she came home to heir headquarters so she have no news about her comrades. For over a year now, the phantom mage was on a journey to seek enlightenment. She wanted to be free from the bond that binds her to that wretched woman. And it was just recently that she achieved her goals, so here she was, back to taking missions. And if she might say so, it seems her partner had grown quite a bit, in more ways than one,

After exchanging pleasantries, her partner went straight to the point and talked about business and handed her something. Probably the leaflet for the job they are about to take on. Of course already knew the mission parameters but didnt want to offend her partner. She gladly took what he offered her and place it in her pocket and said. "Ill read it as we travel." She was barely done with her sentence when a low rumbling sound came from her tummy. Embarrassed she said  "Hey is it ok we stopped by somewhere to eat before we go to our mission? I actually wanted to eat before but I didnt want to be late on our meeting time and miss you."

Elyx smiled as his partner then began to speak of food, she was still child-like as ever it seemed. Though she was very polite about it, he was still willing to think of her as a child, regardless of what age she looked to be. Before he could speak, Ignite took the chance to answer. Yes! Food! I love it! Of course we can get food! The She Phoenix exclaimed happily before walking up from behind Elyx, a smile on her face at the thought of food. This was also probably the first time she has spoken for today, nothing different at all. The boy continued to smile as he nodded his head, for once, Ignite not being so annoying when answering this time. Elyx would not mind going for something like a Cheeseburger. Sure Aria, where would you like to eat? Don't worry about jewels, I'll pay. The Violinist promised with a nod of the head, then crossed his arms. At this point, he was waiting for Aria to answer, and then lead him to somewhere she wanted to eat in Black Rose. Or if she knew about a different placed outside of Black Rose, he would be happy to escort her to her final destination.

Free food, Aria was not the type to turn down stuff specially if they are free. Looking around she saw a ramen house, acting on instinct she grabbed hold of her partner's hand and dragged him towards the ramen's house general direction. The she phoenix could glare all she wants, she was just really really hungry.

Once inside they were greeted by a chubby man who was probably in his mid forties, and a pretty young girl who was probably around her age. Almost on cue, both of them simultaneously said  "Welcome to Ichiraku Ramen!"    The cheery chubby man asked them "So what would you guys be having today?" The man then points at the menu propped up right next to the counter and said  "We have Shio, Tonkotso,Shoyo and today's special Miso with pork cutlet, fish chip and century egg."

Aria's tummy grumbled loudly as the man mentioned the choices, but what she wanted the most was today's specialty. She cant wait to have a sip of that soup and slurp up the noodles and the rest of the ingredients. In a rather zealous tone she said "I want the today's special please!" and as if remembering she wasnt alone, she turned to her partner and said "Sorry for my rudeness, what would you like?"

Ignite was the first to jump on this question, she never had Ramen before in her life. It was not something that she even knew existed. Nothing was really wrong with it, Elyx just never figured that she may or may not have liked it. So now here they were, the She Phoenix made her order very clear, and it was another bullet to the Violinists jewels. She placed both of her palms against the counter with excitement before making her triumphant toned order. I want one of everything! She exclaimed before pulling out her bag of jewels and splattered many of them all over the counter. It was not that easy to be able to pay so many jewels, at least she did not have to deal with the rent of their house, mainly because she had not been taught that. It was a shame, it would have been nice to get revenge on her that way. Elyx sighed and shook his head as he made his order, probably a health budget order. I don't think I want anything, but thanks anyways. The boy announced before looking over to Aria, at least she had the decency to not force him to pay so many jewels. Ignite was herself, so that could not be helped until further explained. It seemed they were going to have Ramen for lunch now.

Aria stared at the feast spread out on their table. Of course it was all the doing of that she phoenix. She herself had ordered to bowls of today's special, she could not help herself if she was hungry. Problem was, in order to eat, she had to remove her mask. "Well I have know him for quite some time now and I don't think it would be bad if he caught a glimpse of my face, or at least part of it." she thought as she looked at a particular wanted poster in on the wanted notice board hanging on the restaurants wall. Hesitantly she lift her mask up to an angle where she could eat the scrumptious meal before her while maintaining a little bit of anonymity and began consuming the food.

It was as good as she expected, she could taste all the ingredients used and they fused in a way that it delighted her taste buds. It brought back memories of another ramen house she had visited before, in another country where another form of magic was used, ruled by a golden haired man who was able to control a giant fox tailed demon.

Before she knew it the contents of her second bowl was already empty, seems she spaced out again while eating. Setting her mask back on she softly sighed with contentment. "That was good. I hope you enjoyed your meal as well. "

Ignite smiled as she began to chow down on all of the ramen that was given to her, there was not enough space on her part of the table, so she ended up having to eat them while they were stacked on each other. The jewel bullet for all of the ramen was huge, rent might be a little bit late this month of they did not go on too many jobs. On the plus side, the both of them might be able to eat and save some of the ramen later on. While the She Phoenix was eating her meal so happily, the boy looked to see Aria enjoying her meal. His light brown eyes shot up wide, he forgot that she had always been wearing that mask. It had been so long that he forgot that she even wore a mask in the first place. It was not that he thought Aria looked like that, but he figured that it didn't even matter anyways. Seeing a little bit of her actual face was a rather new experience, but she might kill him, so instead, he kept his mouth shut before answering her statement. Yeah, that was great actually. The boy lied, knowing her didn't eat anything, meaning, Ignite was forced to carry the leftover ramen in a tower. Because, you know... A snack for the trip.

After the hearty meal, Aria felt her vigor return. She thanked the man and her daughter for the delicious meal and then her partner for giving her the chance to at least eat. He could have said no and forced her to go on the mission right away but instead he chose to oblige her request. As they exit the ramen shop and head towards their destination, Aria could not help but smile  as  watch how her partner and her familiar acted around each other. If she did not know better, she could mistake them for lovers. But on a lighter not, she could tell that Elyx had a good soul, anyone who treated their familiar with such love and care can't possibly that bad .

After a rather surprising brisk walk, they had reached their destination. The crocus mine where the notorious bomber was hiding. From the looks of it, operations were ceased due to the threat of the mad assailant and guards were posted to prevent people from entering, and also to make sure that the bomber didn't go out as well. "Halt, none may pass!" the guard yelled at them. "Where here on official business." And to prove it, Aria showed him the piece of paper that proved that they indeed were given permission to enter the mines. Seeing that all was in order, the guards let the team trough. But before they entered into the dark abyss, one of the guard shouted "Oh be careful not to piss off any creature you meet inside, they are very volatile in more that one way!"

Not a problem at all! Elyx replied happily to the thanks that he had received. Aria was now much better it seemed, now that she had something in her stomach, she seemed rather brighter in his eyes. The boy put on his smile on his face as well, though he was rather hungry, he was glad to see his partners were happy with their meals. Ignite had special ways of saying thanks, like carrying so many bowls in her hands, a few tipping over, but none of them shattering against the ground. This is so awesome! Lets go! The excited She Phoenix exclaimed happily as she began to walk towards the door, her speed matching her happiness. Elyx tilted his head to the side as he noticed that Aria was staring at the both of them for a few seconds, nothing that didn't seem unusual, but for some reason, it triggered a nerve in him. Nothing too serious was being told to him, but something that he might have found a little annoying hid behind the face of the mask. What was she thinking anyways?

Regardless, the lot of them were able to get out of the shop with smiles on their faces. The walk was surprisingly short, the Violinist was rather curious on how this could have been the case. His memory could not trigger any instant that he activated any of his speed boosts. They were there anyways, so there was nothing to fret over anyways. After Aria dealt with a grumpy guard, the both of them entered the scene and began on their own. They needed to find the man, who apparently dealt with explosions. Weird magic, destructive admittedly, but weird since it was specifically explosions. Not fire and keeping a bit of flammable items, simply magic based on explosions. The lot of them were now in a dangerous area, Elyx sensed many Wind flows around him. Some... Some were right behind the few of them, and the wind was only getting heavier. They're here... Brace yourselves! The Violinist exclaimed before jumping into the air and flipped around, pulling out both of his swords. His feet hit the ground, his light brown eyes scanning, and the instincts triggered.

'Monster Dice' :

"They're here... Brace yourselves!" Upon hearing her partner's warnings, Aria immediately activated her ghost magic. And just in time too, for as soon as she did, the mine was rocked by tremors. The source was a deranged man who was carrying a pack of boom stick, and the lunatic was hurling them around like they were fire crackers. "Hahahaha!" The insane laugh grew louder as the man had spotted them and was now hurling boom sticks in their general direction. Wanting to avoid the maniac obsessed with hurling explosives, the team delved deeper into the mine where they were face with another problem.

"You have got to be kidding me!" she exclaimed as she saw a sign with crazy sign drawn on it. It was a skull head inside what seem to be a poor representation of an explosion, in short, they were facing a land mine. They were in a tight spot now, one side was mad bomber and the other side a land mine. She could easily maneuver trough the land mine, she could fly, but she was worried for her partner and his she phoenix. With the impending confrontation with the bomber, she got lost in her own thought and was totally unaware that an exploding spider was steadily creeping towards them.

The next thing to be heard was an insane amount of laughing from a distance, it seemed the bomber had found them. Aria lead the three of them towards the mine, deeper and deeper. Ignite was keeping them with light, being a Phoenix and all, she was able to light up the places, but activate some bombs as well it seemed. Good thing she was able to match Elyx's speed. What about Aria though, can she outrun the bombs? The Violinist didn't conduct any of her exams, which had him worried. Any mage was able to go on a C rank job when they are with someone else, how does one know if she is D rank or not? Regardless, he could have Ignite carry Aria on her back if she were not fast enough.

Elyx felt the wind being manipulated in an incorrect way, somewhere below the ground. Not taking things seriously was a specialty that the boy was able to show off, even in combat. Especially since he didn't see any threats that could hurt him. He began to him as he pulled his hands over his shoulders, then pulled out two items from his knapsack, the Violin and his bow. The rosin plopped onto the string and began to play, the wind around him spinning in a circle, the spiders being revealed as they began to glow and blink with red. His body began to spin and step lightly, showing himself dancing. Finally, when he felt the spiders were about to go out, the boy released the wind, shooting all of the spiders around them the three of them, and multiple explosions were the final result, the rocks at the top crumbling, but nothing too heavy. They simply would bonk on Elyx and Ignites head, but Aria might have a way to avoid that.

With her partners quick action, Aria and her partners avoided the advances of the exploding spiders, however they were not named exploding spiders for nothing, as the spider drew their last breath and death rattled, their body began to glow and exploded, causing part of the mine's ceiling to collapse. Bits of the ceiling began to fall down. Aria tried to avoid getting clunked on the head so using her ability to fly, hovered  high enough where she cant trigger any mine and move as far away as she can from the area where part of the mine's roof caved in, but in doing so, she did not realized that she had wandered from her partner and close to the edge of the mine field.

"Beep, beep, beep..."

Aria turned her head towards the direction of the beeping sound. Her eyes widened upon the realization of whats making the beeping sound which was becoming more faster and faster by the second. "Crap!" Not wasting time, Aria's eyes flashed with green light and was gone. Only to appear next to her partners, all covered in green eerie light. "No time to explain!' she said as she grabbed Elyx and the she phoenix and the trio disappeared. And just in time too, for not far ahead the slave bomber appeared clutching some boomsticks ready to hurl it. But the poor guy didnt even had the chance to throw it, as shortly after its arrival, the mines detonated in successions creating a roaring blast of wind,fire and debris that engulfed everything in its path, including the slave bomber.

"Do you think those guys are still alive?" asked the guard before taking a bite of the sandwich he was holding. "Nah, I bet they're toast by now." the other man replies as he glugged down from his silver canteen. The guards were still enjoying their break when a familiar voice yelled at them to dive for cover followed by loud tremendous boom.

'Monster Dice' :

The sudden grip that Aira gave to both Elyx and Ignite put them both in a sense of battle, there was nothing to fear if they were able to fight something. However, Aria seemed rather disturbed by something over there, and to believe that neither he nor the She Phoenix could have taken care of it, it must have been pretty bad. So despite having regrets of not taking on whatever was going on, the Violinist decided to match the masked girl instead of fight her along the way. It was only a matter of time before they were able to get away from a giant amount of explosions in the cave, which was rather violent, even for the both of them to handle. Elyx may have used wind, and Ignite may have used fire, but for the amount of bunched up flames and gases, they might have gotten blown to bits if it were not for Aria. Maybe on the way back, the Violinist might take a moment to go buy his partner a bowl of ramen just for them. Everyone else that was inside however, was probably toast. It was only a matter of seconds before the land mines would catch up to them, so Elyx had to help as well. With his physical abilities, he could bring them out just in time if he were to make the effort. And so, that was exactly what he did. Both of his boots spiked the ground with such intensity as he jumped forward, pulling Aria and Ignite behind him, and soon, it was a race with the gases. Only to find all other sorts of blinking red enemies as well that were in the way. They had no choice but to keep pressing forward. The boy threw Aria and Ignite to the other side, willing to take the bullet. Get away from here, NOW! I'll handle these bastards! The boy exclaimed before looking back, about 30 seconds and he will have to fight the gases. He was confident in his ability to do it though, he has gone through worse.

Aria thought that by using her magic they could outrun the blast of the explosive mines. But somehow, trouble seemed to find them where ever they go. They had come across yet again with some land mines, to make matters worse, it seems they also attracted the attention of some rather dangerous creatures that lurk with in the mines. With blast almost on to them, Elyx shoved them to safety, in a bid to protect her and the she phoenix. The man was a bout to sacrifice himself for them. Images of a middle aged man with silver rimmed glasses and neatly trimmed green hair came to mind. The man was smiling one moment, the next he's eyes were closed as blood ran down his face. "Its happening again! I cant let this happen!"

Aria got up and rushed to his side. "You idiot! We are partners! And as such I will watch your back!" Her eyes glowed green again as she stood in a defensive position. "I will not watch another comrade fall in battle ever again...Poltergeist!"

Aria! NO! He ca- Ignite exclaimed, only to be cut off as Aria was too far away to get away from the She Phoenixs voice. Elyx in the meantime had both of his blades extended heavily, ready to send a few enemies flying far. The first ones to give him an approach were the spiders, in which he sliced upwards with all of his strength, the huge wind gust sent all of the other spiders flying to the sides, their blinking ready bodies causing the sides of the cave to lose a bit of rock. Gotcha! The boy exclaimed, only to feel an odd wind flow suddenly coming his way. With both of his arms crossed, the blades interlocked, ready to block whatever this newcomer was. Only for his eyes to shoot up with eyes full of fear when he heard the voice. Aria!? Elyx exclaimed, and his guess was correct all right. What has gotten into you!? I can't let you die! The boy exclaimed while looking around, more enemies were bound to arrive, and the smoke designed to suck all of the oxygen out of them were getting closer.

She knew she was being hard headed but she had seen her fair share of allies dying right in front of her eyes. "Were a team! That's why were facing them all together! You, me and Ignite will come out of this damned mission alive!" There was anger and sadness in her voice and her body can't seem to stop from shaking.

"I know my magic is feeble right now...But I can still watch your back!"

A surge of magical energy began to course trough Aria's body making the green light that covers her entire body to dance erratically. Her body looked like it was aflame in ghoulishly green fire. Even her eyes flashed with the same green eerie light. Aria stretched her hand forward and pointed at the in coming slave bombers from behind.

"Begone!e!"

Stones, rocks, abandoned pickaxes and other loose objects lying on the mine's floor began to rise up and began swirling around, creating a fast turning maelstrom of floating debris that inched closer and closer to the monsters. The slave bombers threw bombs at it, but the blast of the bomb was just devoured by the swirling mass.

Her words hit hard against his ears as if they were a pair of drums. His light brown eyes looked to the side, his head turning to the side a little bit, looking back towards Aria. The Guild Ace of Leaves was silenced by the words given by a member of the guild, there was no point denying her good heart. After a few moments of silence from him, the Violinist finally smiled before giving in willingly. You're a good person Aria. The Violinist explained before turning his head over to the remaining enemies. There is a lot more behind the mask, but you just never cease to amaze me. With that, the boy closed his eyes one time, then reopened them, this time, glowing with light green instead of the previous light brown. Time to finish off the job. Get down Aria! That's an order! Elyx exclaimed, then jumped into the air while spinning, his Mystic Knight Iris blade extended. The blade of the weapon began to glow with white light, and soon, the light magic released, causing the air around everyone to vibrate violently. Those of low magic power who got hit by this would instantly shatter. Hopefully Aria did as he ordered, or he might have inflicted critical damage on her life.

The tone of Elyx's voice seemed to change, even the feature on his changed as well. He was smiling...It seems her words had reached her partner, Aria was relieved, now she can put her worries to rest and focus on the task at hand, getting rid of this scoundrels that are blocking their way.

She was about to launch another barrage of attacks when she heard her partner tell her to get down. She was about to ask him why but when she turned she the look in his eyes. His eyes were dead serious and not to mention that the glow emanating from it tells her that its just better if she just did what she was told. Aria dove down to the ground and braced herself for whats about to come. Suddenly she felt a a tremendous force burst out, sweeping outwards before letting out a loud crash that continued to wail out for a few seconds until it died down. She actually did not see what had happened, all the knows is what she felt and what shes heard, when she lifted her head she was surprised with what she saw.

The beam of light was designed to cause a lot of chaos and rumbles on it’s own, not really much help is needed when this spell is executed. Technically, it wasn’t a spell, but it certainly had the devastation of a spell. It covered heavy amounts of ground, approximately 80-90 meters in Elyx’s best guess, though he has found himself unable to keep up with it’s speed. Sadly, like it hurts enemies, it hurts friends as well with the same amount of damage. That’s why he had to jump directly above Aria, to the wave of light would just barely avoid her. It seemed his order was obeyed, and all of the other enemies had to feel the pain that they were all being put through in this job. It was a cruel tactic to swarm around them with all sort of explosions, but the beam of light cut through them all, disabling them. The boys eyes shifted from light green back to their usual light brown form, white speckles cut off as well. His body began to glide towards the ground to the point in which his feet lightly tapped the ground. The enemies in this area were cleared… We have to press forward before more come along!

Elyx's attack had laid waste to that section of the mine, all around her rock, debris and disembodied body part were scattered all around them, in short their enemies were totally pulverized. She looked as his partner, it seems he had reverted back to his former self. She couldn't believe that such an innocent looking guy could perform feats as destructive as that.

"We have to press forward before more come along!" her partner beckoned.

Aria got back up on her feet, dusted herself and then followed Elyx as he lead the way. With the she phoenix just a few feet from him, happily skipping like what happened earlier was normal.

"I guess I really don't have to worry for him after all." thought the green haired mage.

The trio continued to tread the path they were on, surprisingly, they haven't encountered anymore monsters, which was suppose to be good. But as they delve further and further, a strong sense of dread began to grow inside Aria. Then she noticed it, the smell of sulfur and gun powder. "Hey Elyx, do you smell that?"

As they pressed forward, there was a rather odd flow of the wind in front of them, one showing movement of something other than the three of them. Light steps of his boots began to click with the ground, it seemed that the by had a long way to go before finding anything with his senses. It has been more than 15 meters of traveling, maybe they were walking around the source of the heavy movement. Very likely, but it was not confirmed to be the truth. It does seem like something is smelling... Ashy... If that makes any imaginary sense... The trio was continuing to move before his light brown eyes locked onto the scene, his Wind Lerale Eye taking action. It took a few seconds to understand what happened, there was a mine behind the rocks, and a few more surrounding bombs to enhance the problem. But... At the end of this, he was going to have to trigger this... Could he... Guys... I'm going to storm the cave. There is a mine, I think I can outrun it. The boy announced before clicking his feet to the ground, then dashed forward with a heavy amount of speed, charging towards the mine. He would step lightly, half-hoping his steps didn't trigger the bombs. They most certainly did though, and it was only a matter of time before they went off. The source of all this was near... Very near...
