Housekeeping(Solo/Job)

Rei walked down a street to the directions of the job paper, it wasn't too far away from the guild hall, Rei was surprised that no one else had taken up the job sooner. The owner of the house had already left, probably the day before and Rei decided to take the job out of urgency. It wouldn't be good to leave the man's house unsecured and not taken care of while he was away. She finally found the house and walked up to it, it was a pretty house- larger than necessary for a man who lived alone, but who was she to judge. It was likely the prettiest house on the block, it had a nice white picket fence and plenty of rich and well cared for grass all around the spacious house. Rei looked around to ensure that the dog mentioned wasn't anywhere around. Fortunately there was no sign of the dog yet.

I wouldn't imagine there will be a lot of work needed to be done to such a lovely house as this... and the dog doesn't seem anywhere around either. she said out loud to herself as she opened the front gate to the lawn and entered. The house was taller than she thought from a distance and the idea of cleaning such an imposing house was startling to the little girl. Hopefully the man kept his house clean... She walked up to the porch and lifted the rug to find the key that was saved for her, she unlocked the door and entered. Inside the house was very different, a completely different color even! Rubs dotted the floor and it smelled rather clean. There was one pungent smell of course and it came from in the direction of the kitchen. Of course, leave it to a male to mess up the food or leave a food mess in the kitchen after making a snack for himself. She sighed and rolled up the sleeves on her dress and headed in the direction of the kitchen.

'Monster Dice' :

She entered the kitchen and was assailed by a stronger smeel of rotting food that was left in the kitchen. Rei found the source of the smell- an unfinished sandwich was left on the counter... likely left there half-eaten in the man's rush to make his train before he was late. Rei intended to use a napkin to wrap up the sandwich and throw it in the trash, but she was met by some pesky flies. She swatted at them as they flew around her, but they were too agile to effectively hit. She smacked one, but didn't do any damage because of its exoskeleton and her child-like strength. She wasn't too sure how to deal with the pesky flies: she couldn't just leave them in the house, that wouldn't be good for the house owner. Suddenly an idea popped in her head, she turned around and left the kitchen, she went to the front porch and grabbed the man's bug zapper. She brought it inside, plugged it in, closed the curtain and turned off the lights. The bug zapper buzzed and the flies were drawn to it, zap zap zap then the flies were no more.

'Monster Dice' :

With the flies dead, she picked up a broom and swept them up into a dustpan and dumped them into the trash. She turned around and grabbed a napkin, wrapped up the nasty sandwich and dropped it into the trash can as well. She would have to take the trash out before she left, otherwise it was likely that the flies had laid more larva in the rotten food. She turned to the sink and turned on the hot water, she poured soap into the water and waited while it filled up. While that was happening, she swept the floor and then turned the water off. She put on some rubber gloves and grabbed a sponge as she dropped some cups into the sink and let them soak. She glanced at the stacked up dirty plates with encrusted food, she would do those last. She wanted to get the easy stuff out of the way first so she could focus on getting the difficult stuff done.

She worked on the dishes for about an hour, she stood on a stool to stay at proper height of the sink: she nearly lost her balance once, but other than that, it was okay. With the dirty dishes washed and put away, she turned her attention to the livingroom and hallways as she vacuumed them and dusted the ceiling, corners and picture frames. There really wasn't much she could do at this point- the man kept his house fairly clean, except for the kitchen and she had already taken care of that. With the inside all taken care of, she left the house and locked it again- she carried the trash bag full of rotten food with her as she dumped it in the steep dumpster where the city workers would pick it up the next morning. She did a little yard work, picking up fallen limbs from the lawn, mowing the lawn to keep the grass down and etc. Finally she was finished with setting the house in order, she would come back in a day or so to make sure everything stayed okay.
