Drunken Brawl (Hika and Ard/Mission)

Smoke rose from the jaws of her rocket launcher as Hika blew it away, a huge grin forming on her face. The explosion had blasted the trees, including the dark mages who were attempting to climb back on the land. Certainly, this was a cruel thing to do but it was her job to wipe out those evil that were performing illegal actions. With her eyes slit and her jaw curved upwards, she watched the mages struggling beneath her. It seemed like she had no choice but to attack from far, otherwise she would be buried along with those dark creatures as well. Albeit, the downpour finally ceased, only leaving a few droplets of rain. The dark mages that survived from the mud slide were fully back to action, shooting off bullets at them. One would hit the trunk she was hiding behind, a gasp escaping from her lips followed by a sigh of relief — an indication that she was lucky that the bullet had missed her. ”Man, these guys her persistent.” Hika would mumble to her words before she leaped onto another tree before the enemies began to blow her up.

Concealing herself behind one of the trees, she peeked out and see if she was close enough to assassinate one of the dark mages. ’Target fixed.” A huge smirk crept on her lips as she pulled out her mini gun, Pow-Pow, activating it to life. Her precision perfect, she aimed at her target, making sure that she wasn’t within his vision and shot out the first bullet. It struck his arm, zapping him with electricity before she prepared for the second and third shot. She never preferred slow death or torture so her main plan was to finish her enemy as fast as possible. The second bullet pierced into the skin of his neck and the third right through his forehead. Satisfied at her own work, Hika grinned and leaned back into the trunk of tree and exhaled, releasing vapour of her own breath. Sitting behind and aiming targets wasn’t one of her specialities, considering that Hika is a lousy girl who likes to go head to head with her enemies but then, she wasn’t so bad at it.

If her judgement was correct, there was a new group of enemies approaching them; half of them were the ones that they had encountered before and the remaining ones were the mages who were skilled at both dark and gun magic. ”Well, I don’t think we’ve killed them all yet.” With her finger hoisted up, she pointed at the newcomers and raised an eyebrow. When will they ever stop coming?

Hiding behind the trees was the blue haired girl looking out for more enemies to blast her rockets at. By now, the two mages had defeated most of the enemies but there were still some remaining. I probably look like a real assassin right now, a smile bringing onto her lips she mentally chuckled at the thought. Her skin damp from the sweat and rain, she shivered slightly, her lips parted followed by a bite of her teeth on her lower lip. Red orbs gliding up into the vast sky, a sudden realization hit her; the weather had now cleared up and the clouds that resembles a cotton candy drifted through the cool breeze. The sun shining down through the gap between the leaves, a small smile would creep onto her lips, her braided hair waving along with the same momentum of the wind. Her bright red irises would shift towards the direction of her fellow partner to ensure his well-being, after all, a bullet had struck his arm in the previous battle.

Registering all the battles she had, Hika could calculate that some of the foes were as strong as her, a few even tougher. Albeit, little did they know that they were fighting against two mages who were as persistent as they are; one from a powerful organization called the Rune Knights and another from a well-known guild, Sabertooth, whom possessed the title of Rising Star as well as an ace within her guild. However, she reminded herself not to underestimate the abilities of these men. It appeared that the remaining number of the enemies still haven’t caught notice on her whereabouts, which was a fortunate situation for her. In this way, she could just aim at her targets without them even realizing where it was from. With her eyes darting around the area, she kept in check if anyone was coming for aid for the team of dark mages. The leader never made appearance through the whole fight, on which she assumed that he possibly might be just frightened to face the two of them.

Her attention completely focused on the remaining number of her foes, she attempted to come up with a plan to cease the dark mages from making their path through the mud. Needless to say, she never planned to even allow them to lay a step back on the land. A pair of red eyes flashed before hers, roaming through the trees with great speed. Her eyes widen slightly, causing her to wonder what exactly it was. Before she came back to her consciousness, Hika was aware that something that hit her hard, forcing her out her reclined position on the branch of the tree. A slight gasp escaped from her lips and her back would finally come into contact with the solid, hard ground, the twigs and branches that were sprawled on the ground scraping through her bare skin.

The voice of her partner calling out to her would finally reach her ears and she would snap open, all her senses returning the moment she landed on the ground. Wincing from the slight pain, Hika struggled to get herself back on her feet until Ardere rushed to her aid, slashing his sword through the skin of the vulcans with ease. She had no time to waste with the Vulcans for she had to deal with the dark mages until all of them are completely defeated. However, since the Vulcans had joined the battle she had no choice but to fight against them. They were fast, she must admit, albeit, they were not aware that she was a mage of electricity, in other words, she was capable of travelling at the speed of light. Pushing herself onto her feet, Hika dusted off her clothes and twisted her body halfway round to see small cuts that she had received from the twigs and branches that were sprawled across the ground. Another flash before her eyes, she would curl her fingers into a fist and once she felt that the vulcan was close to her, her fist would fly straight towards the vulcan’s face, punching its’ guts out. With a tug on her black gloves, she fixed them into position and hissed, ”Bastards.”

Buoyantly, Hika would flip her hair, her confidence displayed visibly. Her eyes would glide over to the direction of Ardere as she nodded, reassuring him that she was fine. ”Aye, no worries. I got it.” Crimson eyes squinted and a curve of jaw raised slightly upwards, she raised her hands forth in front of her and chanted out a spell. Hopefully, this spell would be the last and foremost for this battle. Afterwards, she would be going back home, her pocket filled with jewels. ”Heavenly Wrath!” The sky almost emptied up immediately; the clouds vanished as the vibrant colour of the sky would diminish, turning into a deep shade of grey as if it looked like a downpour was going to occur again. The Lightning arcs would protrude from the tip of her fingers, extending outwards over to the whole area, covering it with flashes of small lightning. The mages may be stung by the zap of electricity but it does not completely harm them, yet. There was still more to come.

Thunder crashed in the endless, dark sky as lightning flickered, illuminating the area. With her hands brought forth, the arcs of lightning protruded from her fingers until it was evenly distributed in the whole area. The dark mages wouldn’t notice, however, the electric charges she had released had already coursed through their bodies, in their blood veins. Since their bodies now have charges, it was easy to attract the lightning that was pulsing through the sky. A slight movement of her fingers immediately caused the lightning to rain down upon the vulnerable enemies. Her bright crimson hues lit up after witnessing the sight before her, content of her work, her lips curving into a small smile. ”Brilliant.” The words echoed out of her lips as she discovered how majestic it looked to observe bolts of lightning crashing to the ground. Satisfied, her eyelids shut ever so lightly as she brushed away her perfectly braided twin-tails with a swift motion of her hand. Her eyes glided towards the number of bodies sprawled across the solid ground. Pity left her being: red orbs shifting down to the dirt between her feet, eyes showcasing her emotion which partly clouded the emotions she felt towards the defeated and futile state of the dark mages.

The remorse of her enemies soon vanished, rather quickly before she twisted her body into her partner’s direction, a smile tugging on her lips. ”Well, now that we’re done here, why don’t we go check over to the owner of the tavern, hm?” Her hands buried in her pockets, metallic boots shuffled through the mud quickly towards the tavern, which was pretty much wrecked by her blasts. Hopefully, the client of this job wouldn’t give her a scolding for what she did. Eyes scanning over the bar, the disappearance of the client make her wonder where he was. ”Do you have any idea where he disappeared of to?”  She would look over to Ardere, a fellow Rune Knight whom she had enjoyed working with and if luck was on her side, who knows, they could be on the next job together as well. The thought made her smile as she tucked a strand of messy blue hair neatly behind her ear.

Eager to receive the jewels and returned home, the Sabertooth ace tapped her foot impatiently on the ground, her long slender arms folded across her petite chest, a curve of jaw upwards as her red hues would further glide over the bar that was partially blasted with rockets, huge holes apparent on the roof and on the walls of the tavern. Her eyes lit up, a tint of glowing light visible in her eyes, as she was unable to express how she elated she felt at that precise moment for accomplishing to defeat all the enemies. However, the blue haired girl was persistent to leave until she acquire all the jewels she was supposed to attain. There seemed to be no one, till her fellow partner peeked over the counter of the bar. Blinking nervously, the girl wondered why the client was hiding before she suddenly produced a roar of laughter that echoed throughout the bar. Her voice loud and clear, she let out a humongous belly laugh that she, herself, was even startled. Apology rose to her lips as the blue haired girl gave a discreet cough.

Cheeks flushed, her eyes darted around the area anxiously, waiting for her client to show himself. Holy shit, he looks stricken. As though someone had sucked all the blood out of the poor old man, he appeared as pale and white as a ghost. She watched him struggling to maintain his composure as he strode back to his office. Her eyes drifted off to the side of her, to where Ardere was standing and nodded, a smile curved lightly on her lips. Her insides were already tingling, as if she couldn’t wait any longer to receive the rewards. Despite how mundane the job was for she had to repeatedly crushed the dark mages, drunkards and some random beer stealers over and over again, Hika somewhat felt like that her sweat and hard work had paid off. Besides, her fellow partner had been a wonderful person whom she had enjoyed to work with. In all honesty, she was greatly impressed by his abilities for a mage who was a tier below her. It would be magnificent if she had more opportunities to work with him again. Twiddling with her pale fingers, a sigh escaped from her lips whilst a grin still remained intact on her delicate features. ”Can’t wait to get the rewards already.”

Her crimson eyes creased into the shape of a crescent, a giggle would erupt from her soft lips. ”Yeah, you definitely should! Sabertooth’s awesome, I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.” The blue haired mage exclaimed, her hands flailing around her as if she was excited to have him as a guest at her guild which, she certainly was. Indeed, from her perspective, her guild was the most enjoyable place she had ever been to, so far. The laughter and cheers of her guild mates flooding throughout the guildhall sprang into her mind. The thought of returning back to her home made her feel exhilarated more than she ever was. Tired and exhausted, she would progress back to the Sabertooth guild where she would be welcomed by hugs and smiles of her fellow lovely guild mates. Her thoughts wandered off almost immediately as she imagined herself entering the guildhall before she was abruptly cut off by the loud squeak of the door where the client made his appearance once again, holding two packet of jewels in his fleshy hands.

At the sight of the two plump velvet bags, she hastily straightened herself up and cleared her throat, her eyes apparent of the desire to hold the bag herself. Rubbing the back of her head, Hika grinned sheepishly and declared, ”I’m sorry for the chaos I’ve caused to your bar. I can repair all the holes if you wish, Mr. Owner.” The answer she received was a slight shake of his head and a small smile on his face. ”It’s alright, I’ll fix the rest. I’m glad enough you were able to get rid of those damn stealers.” It appeared that the client was content that his bar was finally rescued from the beer stealers. Satisfied, Hika heaved a sigh of relief as she rested her palm on the old man’s shoulder, giving him a delightful smile. ”Tell us if you need anymore help. For now, we shall take our leave.” The old man handed the two of them their rewards as Hika would gladly accept it from him, shoving it down her pocket before she skidded off back to her guild after exchanging farewells with Ardere.
