The Shohei manor had obtain a very eerie package that morning. It’s details presented Team Leviathan with fewer than a handful of facts: some Rune Knights had gone missing in the Spooky Forest after an exorcism gone wrong. The creepiest part about the package was that it didn’t mention who it was from or why it was sent to the not-so-elite Lamia Scale mages. Enola, too curious to just toss the box, felt it best if the team investigated. She thought against bringing Shohei and Taraki along though, figuring Shohei would decrease her salary again and that Taraki would be too tired as he always was for a reason the maid hadn’t quite figured out.
Thus it was that Enola had dragged Hakumi and Sinon with her to the Spooky Forest to see what had happened to the Rune Knights. Unfortunetly, the train had been a bit slow that day, meaning it was nighttime by the time the trio had arrived. Enola didn’t care though; she liked the night. Actually, she liked everything, but that’s beside the point. Standing at the metal gate to the misty forest, Enola smiled and, true to her optimistic self, chuckled.
“Oh dear, the mist is so beautiful! I do hope we don’t get lost though… Any who, shall we get going? Mr. Kirisagi will be worried if we’re not back soon.” In all likelihood, Shohei would probably be overjoyed if they never returned. She turned and faced her dear companions with the warmest expression. One would think she was about to enter to candy store, not a nightmarish forest that could quite possibly be from the depths of Hell.
In truth, Enola wasn’t very worried. Seeing as the world was almost perfectly innocent in her eyes, she believed the Rune Knights were just a little lost in the forest with a few paper cuts here and there. Absolutely nothing to worry about… is what a blissful idiot would say.
