| Humming to herself as her bare feet met with the hard surface of the ground, the dark-haired female kept on sauntering forward, her hair wildly swaying to the sides due to the harsh wind. Not only her hair but so did her dress as well; both kept swaying from one side to another. However, it was of no concern to this petite female as she was solely absorbed in relishing the harsh and monstrous weather that the Central District had been hit by. Most people were inside their houses, not wanting to leave the warm, coziness of their house but this girl loved the cold and dark more than the light. This girl, Laycie Vessalius, was one who was messed up in the head in quite a lot of different ways. And it was to be expected; after all, she wasn’t normal was she? In fact, she was far from that; she was a demon and isn’t it only normal for demons to enjoy an atmosphere humans would not approve of. “The weather is absolutely beautiful today~” Laycie exclaimed, twirling around as the thunder boomed across the sky. It appeared as though it would rain soon thought and that was alright. The harsher the weather, the more she enjoyed it. People would think of her as psychotic for adoring something as catastrophic as a bad weather but then again, wasn’t that what she was? To people, she would seem like a teenage girl, twirling like a mad woman in the thunderous weather. Stopping her twirling momentarily to look around, a slight pout encompassed her lips. “But it would be far more entertaining if someone were to be present here. The more people, the more amusement I will attain, after all.” A scenario then entered her mind of a person getting electrocuted by a thunder storm; not that would be extremely entertaining to watch. But for now, she would have to wait as she twirled for someone to arrive and give her company. The more entertaining the person was, the less likely she would be to kill them. However, she did not know who would appear. So, she stayed there humming to herself, swaying and twirling as thunder boomed across the sky and lighting flashed on the sky’s visage. |

Swirling the wine about in a glass Gil Vessalius could only sigh. Something wasn't quite right, or rather felt missing or off. At first he had attributed it to the fact that he had ventured into a land where no magic existed but that couldn't have been why things felt so off to him. Was it perhaps the sub-par wine? Taking another sip of the red liquid Gil frowned, while it didn't meet his standard the alcohol was not the cause of his unrest. With another sigh, his crimson eyes glanced about the bar to see if that was why he was feeling so....unusual. The bar was rather shady but it was to be expected when in the Central District. Still, Gil preferred to go to high end establishments and this was certainly not one of them. It was especially bad considering the amount of people that had crammed themselves into the bar, apparently to hide away from an oncoming storm. Their incessant chatter only served to annoy him. Not bothering to finish the rest of the wine Gil stood abruptly from his chair, causing it to clatter to the ground.
The bar and its inhabitants fell silent, the blonde holding that kind of effect on people. After all he had a habit of attracting attention and keeping it on him. His very looks screamed "look at me" as his handsome features had an undeniable regal charm to them, he was far above average height, dressed himself lavishly, and the crimson insignia upon the back of his neck was perhaps one of the most fear inspiring qualities of his. That or his equally crimson glare which he did not hesitate to use upon the curious onlookers within the bar. His expensive boots clicked upon the stone floor, as he made his way towards the exit within the bar. Someone eventually spoke up just as he opened the door letting a violent gust of wind in, "Sir you mustn't go out there! A violent storm is heading this way! You'll be killed for sure!"
"Storm?" He barked out a harsh and cruel laugh as he gazed out into the dark skies above, "It will take much more than a simple storm to kill me! The gods will have to try much harder than that!"
"If I don't fear the gods what makes you think I'll fear demons?" The wind was cold and nipped at his face but felt good as it pushed back through his blonde mane of hair. Before any of the commoners within could hope to protest Gil from venturing further out, he left, the doors slamming shut behind him. Gil was a man with temerity, and a hefty amount of it at that. Storms regardless of how big or small would not inspire fear in his heart, it took a lot to bring about such an emotion in his heart. He was foolishly confident, believing himself above all others even the gods, so a simple storm was nothing but a nuisance to a man like him. Running a hand through his windblown locks Gil pushed forward through the nearly empty streets, thunder booming from above. As the first drop of rain fell from the sky Gil titled his head up to look into the dark clouds above. "How irksome." He grumbled as another drop fell down upon his nose causing him to squint his eyes.
At that moment Gil whom had not been paying close attention to where he was walking had bumped into someone. Regardless of whether it was his fault or not for running into the person, Gil would blame it on the other party. "You dare run into me? Who do you think you are exactly?" He growled out haughtily. His crimson glare turned downwards to look at the strange girl who was the only one out in such disastrous weather. If he was not mildly annoyed by her presence he would have considered her appearance rather strange, and the circumstances of it even stranger. It wasn't every often that a man encounter a violet eyed woman dancing about in the beginnings of a storm.

| Unbeknown to the dark-haired female, she was perhaps, enjoying this monstrous weather more than she ought to as could be clearly seen by her continuous twirling and slight giggles that escaped her lips as the rain slowly yet surely started pelting down from the grey coated clouds, finally having an essence of freedom as they escaped from their homes, isolated above in the sky to the ground below on which many set foot upon from centuries and centuries; these rain drops finally being the one to not only wash the foot steps away but a person’s entire being from the face and history of this world as well. It intrigued her as to how these rain drops loved the ground just to extinguish a person’s entire quintessence but perhaps, she could relate to them; they were stranded above in the sky whereas, she below within the pits of flames and now, both had gotten the chance to escape and explore the world of the living. Not only that, but like the rain drops themselves, her hobbies were to eradicate a person’s existence as well, weren’t they? How humorous that the dark-haired demon was comparing herself to particles as minute as rain drops themselves. It showed how even the most undistinguished items could have such a deep and foreboding meaning. In between all of her constant thinking, a figure bumped into Laycie, bringing her twirling to a halt. And at first, she slowly let this fact sink in that she was not twirling anymore as a male voice made its way to her ears, her mind ignoring the voice completely, however. The one thing that bothered her was the fact that how dare he stop her from twirling? How dare he ruin her amusement? Nonetheless, Laycie’s face held an eerily calm and collected look, her eyes a little wide and her mouth slightly open as she slowly turned around to look at the person who had made themselves known to her dark presence. However, as she gazed upon the blonde-haired man, extremely handsome and tall, yet with quite an arrogant presence, she sensed something peculiar; the male had quite a dark aura surrounding him and with the way he spoke, she could confirm he was someone it would indeed be quite amusing to play around with. “It appears as though Hell granted my wish.” She thought, giggling to herself. A smile encompassed her visage as she looked upon the man with a slight twinkle of pure evil in her eye. The smile and the charming appearance she was portraying was only a façade to the utter chaos and anarchy that she held within her. “Hello there, mister~” The demon spoke, her voice laced with innocence and virtue. “Nice to meet you, I’m Laycie.” She giggled lightly after her sentence, wondering what the man thought about her just as heavy rain starting pouring from the skies as blinding lightning flashed across it, momentarily, illuminating the overly dark non-magical location. Till now, he had been too absorbed in his own self to even notice what a strange occurrence it was for a girl to be out in the open, wearing nothing but a dress, and dancing under the thunderous atmosphere present above. How many times had a person actually seen that apart from in horror movies? But then again, it wasn’t as though she was complaining; no, not at all. In fact, she was only preparing to have some amusement for herself; it was always quite a delight when a demon stumbles upon humans with a corrupt soul because, the amount of excitement they bring to a demon is non-comparable. This would indeed be quite a delight. |

By now the rain had turned from the occasional drop to a steady flow, dampening anyone who was unlucky enough to be out in the open. "Disgusting." He sneered and slicked back his hair that was growing slick with rain water. Even his expensive coat was growing damp with rain, and at this rate was going to do him no good in keeping the cold at bay. For now though that wasn't really a concern as the mage kept himself warm with steadily growing annoyance towards the woman whom had stopped him. Finally, he managed to get a good look at her appearance or rather finally paid attention to it. Compared to himself, the strange girl was rather short, to the point where Gil had to actually look down at her. The girl herself had a charming appearance but that did not make up for the fact that she was the only other person reckless enough to be out in such dangerous weather.
It was when she spoke that Gil came to realize just how young the girl appeared to be, her appearance was indeed young, her voice an innocent charm, and it wasn't very often that someone called him "Mister". Narrowing his crimson eyes in confusion, Gil eyed over the girl almost skeptically as if trying to figure out who she was or what she was doing there. Only no answer came and the man did not waste any time in assuming that she was simply what she appeared to be, an insane little girl dancing in the rain, foolish enough to get in his way. "I would not say that it is very nice to meet you." He replied with a huff, crossing his arms over his broad chest, "But I shall grace you with the sound of my name as you have given me yours and it is required that I do the same." That or Gil simply enjoyed hearing the sound of his own voice, and most of all he loved to introduce himself to others. "I am Gil Vessalius." His voice was loud and prideful echoing down the empty streets, the pattering of the rain wasn't even loud enough to silence a man like him. However, the rain was enough to cause him to give a slight shiver as it had now thoroughly soaked through his coat.
A moment of silence had seemed to envelope them, with the exception of the rain and an occasional loud boom of thunder, or flash of lightning across the sky. It would appear as if Gil was not going to say anything else, however, that was only in appearance. After all, the blonde mage was much like a cat in both appearance, and attitude. His crimson eyes were almost cat like and his attitude was more prideful than a lion, and he even hated large bodies of water. However, the most defining trait would be his undeniably cat like curiosity. "What is a little girl doing out in such a storm?" He finally asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.

| Laycie couldn’t help but internally chuckle at the blonde-haired man that stood opposite her; he was indeed a sight to behold from his actions and words; a dark sight, indeed. Just from his many gestures, Laycie could pick out small details such as his continuous grimaces or foolish attempts at trying to make himself appear quite exquisite even under the cries of the heavens above. Cries of the heavens; what a lovely melody that was to the dark-haired woman. The demon had to admit that the man did stand out a lot; one reason was because of the dark aura he possessed that she could clearly sense; arrogance, pride, superiority were all words that could be clearly visible on his face and Laycie had to admit that this was quite amusing; quite amusing, indeed. She was going to have a jolly time with him. It made her wonder what the blonde thought about her; after all, it’s not every day you see a girl who appeared to quite in the appearance of a child, dancing around in the monstrous rain. Oh no, you don’t. So she wondered whether he was stupid enough to just presume of her as one who a naïve girl, perhaps, escaping from someone to relish in this demonic rain. However, if he did think that, it was a better thing; at least, for her. One thing that intrigued the demon was perhaps, his crimson eyes. That was not something she had seen on a human unless, of course, they had some connection to a demon however, her senses picked him up as an ordinary human. With Nathaniel, she had managed to figure it out from the aura he radiated. However, this man’s and Nathaniel’s aura’s were different; Nathaniel’s was darker and held the essence of a demon whereas, this man’s didn’t. So the possibility of him even remotely related to one was a complete no. Her attention then diverted to the man when he spoke, his voice full of what his face depicted; arrogance and pride. Quite an interesting human beings; it was always entertaining to meet those that were that were that evil face of humanity. As he spoke, Laycie internally chuckle as he claimed it was not nice to meet her; he had no idea exactly how right he was. Another thing that caught her attention was his name; Vessalius. How peculiar yet intriguing. “Vessalius?” The girl questioned, innocence laced in her voice completely contradicting the voice of poison in her mind. “So awesome!” She exclaimed, “My last name is Vessalius too; Laycie Vessalius!” An idea then walked into her mind; oh my, this was going to be fun. “Could it be you could be my onee-chan?” She looked up at him with innocent eyes as the question spewed out of her mouth. It made her wonder how he would react to this; well, whatever, his reaction would be, it would be entertaining for sure. Proceeding to answer his next question which she could sense was laden with curiosity, Laycie responded. “I wanted to come outside in the rain. It’s so beautiful, isn’t it, Onee-chan?~” |

► Gil Vessalius 520 words @Laycie |
LThe man couldn't help but internally shift under the girls violet gaze something about it setting off all sorts of alarms in his head. He enjoyed getting looked at but this wasn't someone gazing at him in awe, this was someone gazing at him like prey. When it came to rationality vs arrogance, the latter of the two often beat the other. Ignoring the strange feeling he got from the girl he instead hardened his glare pushing any qualms about her to the side. Which was easy enough with the words that had escaped the young girls lips. Vessalius He had never met anyone with the same last name as him before. In fact, he prided himself on his somewhat unique name because it made him different and above others. For him to meet another with the same last name was a bit alarming as it caused a crack in her armor of arrogance, his name suddenly not so special as there was someone else, a strange young girl, who bore the exact same name as him. "Laycie Vessalius." He repeated the name sounding foreign and strange on his tongue, as it was not Gil Vessalius but rather it was Laycie. Her next comment nearly caused him to choke. Onee-chan It had been a long time since he had heard that phrase directed towards him. Especially by someone who looked somewhat similar to a certain person in which Gil would rather forget. The phrase and the appearance nearly sent him back to the past but the violet eyes of the girl was what brought him back. "Her eyes are violet not red." He thought as he recomposed himself reaching an almost shaky hand out to grasp at one of the stray locks of hair belonging to the girl. "Her hair is a little lighter than his to." He rolled the wet stray lock between his thumb and fore finger before bringing his crimson gaze up to hold the young girls gaze. "I don't think you'd want me for a brother. You see...." His hand that had held her hair found its way to her chin harshly seizing it in his grasp to make sure Laycie held his gaze, "I don't care for my current younger sibling and I'd hate to gain another one and go through the hassle of having to kill another." Truth be told the circumstance between him and his own younger brother were rather different seeing as just thinking about him caused Gil to shudder but the girl didn't need to know that. He was terrified of his younger brother for various reasons but he was working on getting over it, and somehow this strange and eerie girl helped in a way. Suddenly, his glare softened into a mocking smiling as he have her chin a squeeze, "You look like a silly fish out of water like this. A fish that likes the rain to much, and a silly fish that doesn't know who it's family is." He laughed a cruel sounding thing before releasing the girl from his grasp and wiping his hand on his pants. |

| It could be evident from Gil’s face that he was clearly not expecting someone else to have something important such as a last name, as the same one as him. A last name was quite an important factor in determining the existence of a particular person as it defined who they were; it made them unique. And for him to have someone who shared that important thing must have been quite shocking. However, to Laycie, this revelation was intriguing. And every moment that passed with this blond-haired figure became even more amusing; every action he did; every word he spoke; they ignited a feeling Laycie had not felt in a very long time; a feeling of finally, finding someone who could one of the best prey she could have laid eyes upon. As her name rolled off his tongue, the dark-haired demon had to resist the urge to chuckle at the way he spoke it; so unfamiliar because it was not his name that he spoke but rather hers. However, when he clutched a strand of her wet hair in between his fingers and rolled it after her declaration of him being her so-called ‘onee-chan’, Laycie was a tad bit surprised. She wondered what the blond man was thinking about; what may be going on in his head? Gil Vessalius was indeed quite an amusing mystery to crack. When his mouth opened and he started speaking, the dark-haired demon was curious as to what he would say and listened until he harshly seized her chin and made her gaze meet his. Despite the sudden movement, there was no emotion of pain or surprise on Laycie’s face; just curiosity. And as he spoke, more darkness radiated from the man as what he said entertained Laycie quite a bit. “Kill another…?” She questioned quietly, whilst her chin was still in his grasp. When his glare softened into a mocking smile, Laycie wanted to imitate that because, internally, she had been mockingly smiling at him since the beginning. “A silly fish, he says? Comparing a demon to a fish; how silly.” The demon internally thought to herself as a smile slowly crawled itself onto her face as Gil let her chin go and wiped his hands on his pants. This was far too amusing and by now, it was becoming extremely difficult for Laycie to control her extreme desire to laugh out loud. However, now was the time. After all, there was much left to be done. Making her way closer to the blond-haired male till they were only centimeters apart, the dark-haired girl placed upon her delicate lips an innocent smile as she looked up at him and clutched his wet shirt in her hand. The girl then presumed to stand on her tip-toes from where she was now very close to his face as she looked up at it. “But I am a silly fish and I like being one too. Far more fun than being a sane one, right, Onee-chan?~” Laycie questioned, her voice low and soft, merely just a delicate whisper as her eyes turned into their original colour of red for just a millisecond before they disappeared again. |

"I have to go through the hassle of killing one sibling already. I'd hate to have to go through even more trouble and kill you as well." He shrugged, having a sudden urge to explain himself or rather just talk about himself. He wasn't exactly built for keeping secrets seeing as he enjoyed making sure everyone knew ever great detail about him, regardless of how vital that detail might be. He had hoped that his subtle threat to kill his own sibling would drive the girl away but apparently all it did was drive her closer both figuratively and literally. "Tch." He grit his teeth and narrowed his eyes as the girl grasped at his rain soaked clothing, and brought her face a breath away from his own. He stiffened at the sudden closeness, not used to having another being in his personal space, disliking how she clung to him and how every time one of them took a breath their air would mingle. However, his own pride would not permit him to look away or take a step back as that would show fear or let her think she was the dominant one. As she spoke, Gil listened with annoyance as once again he was called onee-chan. Not to mention she blatantly admitted to being insane, a trait that Gil was not particularly fond of. "She hides insanity well. If not for that I would never have guessed her true nature, perhaps I mislabeled her as a silly little girl." That thought soon went out of his head as his own gleaming red eyes widened as they caught a flash of crimson in the girls previously violet eyes. Just that small flash was enough to send him back into the past, thoughts of his brother filling his head, his heart unknowingly pounding loudly in his chest and ears. Or was that the thunder that was pounding in his head? Before he could stop himself, so caught up in an almost war-like flashback of his brother, Gil grasped at the girls pale wet arms, squeezing them tightly in his vice like grip, hard enough to leave bruises. "What are you?" He growled out closing any distance that was between them. His heart was still pounding heavily, his breathing almost ragged, and his stance was tense like a predator about to strike its prey. |

| Laycie could sense the fear inside the man that was very close to her; she could feel his heart beating fast, thumping against his chest as he caught the glimpse of red that had flashed in her eyes for a short moment. And if anything, it finally alerted him; it finally made him realize that the dark-haired female dancing in the rain was no ordinary person but rather, someone who probably did not even belong in this world. Gil had decided to close the short amount of distance that was between them as he gripped her pale arms, finally closing the distance between them. It sent a shiver down her spine, arising a feeling of ecstasy. And, finally, aimed his question at her. A question she knew he would be likely to ask soon and a question she was more than happy to answer. A light smirk crawled onto her, mixing in with the pelting rain drops that lined her face and her wet hair that clung to her forehead; this appearance made her seem as though there was something terribly wrong about the girl. Standing on her tip toes and stretching a bit, she moved closer to Gil’s face and moved her head to the side so that her lips were positioned directly next to his ears and she spoke, her voice a light whisper only meant for his ears to listen. “I want to know what you think I am. Who do you think I am? Or more specifically, what do you think I am, Gil?” His name was the only thing she stressed upon as it was the first time she had called him by his name and not by the alias of ‘onee-chan’; his name did not sound foreign on her lips; it sounded as how one would speak about their food before attacking down upon it, it sounded as how one would speak about their prey before ripping it to shreds. However, Laycie would not be doing that. Gil was her prey; perhaps, one of the best ones she had ever encountered. And now, if more than anything, Laycie had grown fond of the blonde-haired man due to the sheer amusement he provided. His head was too far in the clouds and she had to bring it back to the ground; show him who’s in power; who’s the dominant force in this world; who’s the dominant force over him. |

► Gil Vessalius 614 words @Laycie |
Once again his pride beat the rationality in him. The girl leaning up into him made him want to step back, release her from his grip, and leave. However, he simply couldn't as that would be him backing down from a confrontation that would be allowing this creature in front of him to be better than him. Instead of fleeing like any rational man would do, Gil stayed in the pouring rain, desperately clinging onto the arms of a creature that took the form of a girl, and for once had no idea what he was doing. The two certainly looked odd, being the only beings out in such a horrid storm, it didn't help that they made no move to seek shelter from the rain but simply stood amidst the storm, one clinging onto the other. The slight brush of her lips against his ear made Gil unconsciously shudder. Each breath from every word that spilled forth from those lips, tickled his ear but for once, someone had actually gained Gil's full and utmost attention. Her words were almost drowned out by the rain and the thunder but somehow they managed to register in his head. Which meant that once again the man was struggling, rationality over pride? A battle that more times than not ended with the latter of the two as a victor. "What do I think?" He murmured, a slight quiver to his usually confident tone. "What do I think?" The question was repeated in his head and swiftly answered with an almost automatic, well practiced, forced response, "I need to pull myself together." The girl had chipped away at his armor of confidence, of ego, and vanity. Armor that he simply adorned himself with in order to look and act the part of a King but to take away all that armor, to even put a slight dent in it, one would realize that it was all a facade. A mere illusion beaten into him with so much force that it had almost melded completely into him, but even an extravagant fake is still an imitation of the real thing. "I think that you're-"He took a moment searching to find his usual confidence, trying to restore his pride to him, build his walls of armor back up so that this simple strange little girl could not penetrate them or dent them again, "That you're a silly little girl who ought to learn her place." He finally managed to get out, his voice sounding strong again as he took a step back from the girl, giving her a shove as he released his grip on her arms. However, he couldn't simply just leave it at that, if she was going to play with him then he would do the same. "But," He continued leaning down so that now his lips were placed next to the girls ear clearly mimicking her earlier action, "Perhaps you would make a good little sister. I mean I have always wanted one. Or maybe perhaps when you're a bit older," A sly grin crossed his features as he leaned away from the girl, "You might grow up to be beautiful enough to be my concubine. What do you say? Sounds like a good deal? You can be a King's precious little sister, a perfect princess or his concubine." By the end of it he was mocking her but it was his way of avoiding the doubt and suspicions he had of strange raven-haired girl, a part of him not wanting to know who or rather what she is, so instead he'd antagonize until perhaps she became offended, and would find some other human to torment. |

Be careful making
wishes in the dark, darling
the demons might listen
Here I stand, helpless and left for dead. Close your eyes, so many days go by. Easy to find what's wrong, harder to find what's right. I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies. I won't stay long, in this world so wrong. Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight. Don't you dare look at him in the eye, as we dance with the devil tonight.
She stood there; still; lips against ears as the force of the internal battle taking place in the male’s head penetrated from him in the form of words; his mere whisper repeating her question, in a daze, confounded upon what to believe, perplexed as to what was happening, mystified as to what to answer. And as she stood there, anchored to the ground with her tip-toes, Laycie’s amethyst hues yet again shifted to their natural crimson during the time that he could not see her as he lips curled, sinisterly, upwards; mirth laced her visage at the bewildered state of the man and without doubt, one could truly see how much enjoyment the raven-haired demon was gaining out of emotionally and mentally torturing the poor, blonde-haired, egoistical man.
However, at the statement presented forth from his lips followed by a shove and step taken backwards by Gil, her eyes abruptly returned back to the shade of purple as her countenance now masked a fraction of the emotions that were displayed on his; a slight tint of confusion mixed with a layer of amusement as well.
“Oh, my, my.” The confusion however, would soon melt away and all that would remain would be the hilarity that she would find from his reactions. So, the demon had not been able to penetrate his armor; it saddened her a bit as the glee she would achieve from accomplishing that would have been immense however, no remorse was taken at the thought of continuing this little game of theirs; the tides would continuously shift between the two; points where one of them would have enough; points where they would recover; but alas, every story would have an ending, gleeful for some whilst tragic for others; the same way, every battle, every game would also emerge with a victor and this little conflict filled with taunts and teases, facades and illusions, natural and the unnatural would also in the end, have a victor. And Laycie would be the one to hold that title and place herself upon the majestic throne with Gil bowing in front of her. That she would make sure of.
The blonde-haired man mimicked the dark-haired female’s previous action and leaned closer to her so that his lips would be placed directly next to her ear as well. And as his lips, moist from the plundering rain grazed the lobe of her ear slightly, a shiver ran down her spine yet again. It was engraved with a mixture of emotions all coupled into one that the female had not experienced in a very long time; ecstasy finely stitched with a slight tint of confusion having streaks of amusement within it. Gil was indeed, a special human for he bought out the best within her and this yet again reinforced why she would not lose against him.
He whispered in her ear; presenting forth the prospect of being his younger sister, being a King’s precious little sister, and being an elegantly beautiful concubine. It was a mock to her; all of his words were mocking her and Laycie knew it. She knew he was trying to antagonize her; she knew he suspected she wasn’t just a mere little girl prancing in the thundering rain; she knew he wanted to get rid of her. Despite the façade neatly sprawled over his words, he was, at the end of the day, still human. And humans were one creatures Laycie knew very well; she despised yet adored them. And hence, she knew Gil.
A light giggle echoed from her lips as the blonde put an end to his words. Despite the plundering storm that brewed above them, the giggle was clear enough to radiate to Gil’s ears. The slight giggle shortly turned into an all-out brawl of laughter. Laycie threw her head backwards as she placed her hands over her stomach and laughed. She laughed and laughed and laughed. The voice echoed through the land, penetrating the sounds of the rain splattering upon the ground, the noises of the thunder bellowing the sky. The demon’s laugh was more powerful and significant than that. She did that for a good whole minute or two before coming to a stop, still slightly giggling as she glided her orbs which were slightly hidden by the dark hair that stuck to her forehead and finally, spoke; her voice yet remaining its elegance despite the thunder of laughter.
“Oh, Gil. Gil, Gil, Gil.” She chanted his name, amusement laced over her tone as she slightly shook her head; her lips framing a slight smile of sinfulness. “You are such an intriguing human being. I’m somewhat surprised. You know you’re playing with fire and yet, you refuse the attempt to dent your façade. You know what I am, don’t you? And yet, you speak as if you are oblivious or as if I am a creature beneath you.”
A light giggle escaped her lips as she closed her eyes only to open them again as they flared crimson, illuminating vividly despite the darkness and haze that accumulated around them. “So, tell me, Gil, who do you exactly think you are?”

PARDON ME BUT YOU SAID THAT YOU'D ALWAYS LOVE ME
His jaw tensed at the sound of her laughter, at first a light giggle almost pleasant sounding but then it turned into a fit of laughter. If there was one thing he disliked it was laughter or more specifically when he felt like he was being laughed at. Jaw locked, handsome features twisted into a gloomy grimace, the blonde simply waited for the girl to stop laughing. It took a long while but finally her laughter ceased. Instead she had taken to something else. Something that was almost more unpleasant.
Gil
Often times he enjoyed the sound of his name, he dreamed of crowds chanting it, but this? This was not pleasant, the way she said it made him shiver. It sounded wrong, it didn't sound half as regal as it usually did. It sounded like a wicked promise, that Gil did not want to be kept. "You are beneath me." He managed to choke out, all her words were true, and hard to deny. It was nerve wracking being near a being that could read him like an open book, that saw him for what he truly was. She knew it was all a facade and it worried him to no end. How did she know? Well, he knew but refused to admit as to how she knew. Demon slayers existed in this world but he'd prefer to believe that demons didn't really exist, that they were simply bedtime stories to scare children into submission.
Burning crimson met a similar pair but fire was not in his cat like eyes. They were murky with thought, filled with a sort of darkness not nearly as playful as the creature before him. She proposed a rather difficult question. Who did Gil think he was? A King? A fake? A human? It was hard to say his ego leaning one way but the truth leaning the other. He remained silent, handsome features not twisted into a scowl or grimace but blank almost melancholy. "Even an elaborate fake isn't the real thing...."He muttered closing his ruby eyes with a sigh."Yet that is. I eventually will be the real thing." Opening once more, his eyes were burning now matching the girls brightness, determined to conquer his destiny, "But I do know I am better than you; A simple creature that enjoys toying with others in the rain." He mused before making an offer, an attempt to make a deal with the devil:
"How would you like to help me become a King?"

“That’s quite a pitiable misunderstanding, my dear, Gil.” Lips locked into a sublime smirk; crimson hues glinting in the dark, the wicked spark vivid within them as, they scrutinized the damp male from head to toe. His words gonged through her, as Laycie’s feet lightly paced back and forth; her lithe frame swinging slightly, from side to side; eliciting a chuckle from her lips, as she continued speaking; mirth laden in every syllable of her tone. “You believe me to be beneath you yet, as the game stands here; I’m the one who has you figured out. You may be blind to it but, I hold the strings to this little meeting of ours. I was created to be above you, Gil. Not the other way around.” As her little monologue approached its end, the demon’s voice traversed into a mere whisper. A whisper, audible, within the din of the plundering rain, to only the ears of the blond haired male before her. The distortion, apparent on Gil’s visage exemplified a sense of euphoria within the dark haired demon; her sepia locks now, charcoal as the thunder of water darkened them. Coupled with her glimmering crimson hues and damp, white dress; indeed, Laycie appeared to what she was truly was. A demon.
It was perhaps, in a long time, she had a rendezvous with such an interesting human such as Gil. Pitiable and pathetic, was what the crimson eyed female assessed of Gil, or any other human, for that matter. Albeit, the mage before her indeed, fit those adjectives; there lay an enigmatic outline upon him. He was different. Yes, he submerged upon him selfdom; his identity, priding himself on the degree of God. However, Laycie’s eye deduced it to be a façade. Yet, as his words belched from his lips, exclaiming that he would, in time, transform from his elaborate fake into the real thing; the curve upon her lip slithered forth, widening. Though, the plundering rain and the distance of the two made it impeccably, difficult to distinguish her facial expression; she was pleased with his answer. Her doctrine about him, accurate. He was different. By now, a normal human would have, slithered away in fear; their consciousness unable to govern anymore with Laycie’s mirthful antics. Yet, the stumble in his semblance was not transparent. For, as soon as, his poise faltered; his tenacity, returned abruptly. Not a will to back down from her pernicious aura. Admirable; highly admirable. And perhaps, that was what consumed Laycie to play with him further. The amusement from this was unattainable, by any other.
Gil spoke, yet again, criticizing her for toying with humans in rain, eliciting a hearty chuckle from the demon; her gaze, returning upon his egoistic countenance. “You are accurate about your statement. I, am, indeed, a creature who finds amusement in toying with others, especially in the rain. However, the minds of you simpleton humans who live within a fallacy; believing yourself to be on equilibrium with the supreme creatures of other worlds; needs to be brought down. And I, ascertain you that breaking the veil of pride upon them, is a very, very entertaining task. We can’t allow you lot to believe of yourself on the same status as us, now can we? The imbalance of this world would diminish. And for the functioning of our worlds, this disparity needs to be present. It was a transparent rule of nature, Gil. One, you cannot defy.”
With every sentence that left her lips, Laycie lightly moved her feet forth; inching towards him; a prey to its predator. However, his question halted a pause upon her step; crimson optics widening slightly, the smirk on her lip lightly wavering before, it was brought back in full force, hues burning more than ever. In a few quick steps, she stood, upon her tiptoes; pale hand upon, his fine chest as her face lay impeccably, close to his own; lips, centimeters away; the mirth of his question apparent on her face as she countered his with an enticing, whispering query of her own. “My, my, Gil. Are you making a deal with the demon?” Certainly, this encounter within the rain was turning out to be quite entertaining.

I'm the one that you wanted I'm your King - @Laycie - - 432 Words - - Rightful King - | Her words irritated him to no end but they still struck a rather painful chord. The arrogant demon reminded him too much of his own kin, enough so that she could blend into his own family with ease. Doing his best to not get sucked back into a time that had long since passed, striving with every fiber of his being to not let this little girl turn him back into the pathetic creature that his own brother had created, Gil could only grit his teeth and avert his eyes from her. "You're not above me." A quiet chant within his head, his own mental stability was a much more fragile thing than he lot on. To think that he was left speechless because of the little demon before him, it was humiliating to say the least. Despite the fear, the turmoil, his iron will, his very pride, prevented him from fleeing even in the face of such obvious danger. He had only ran away from one thing in his life and he refused to run away from anything else, even if it could potentially cause his downfall. It was his Hubris that both protected him and hindered him, a pride that made others acknowledge and fear him, but a pride that would inevitably lead him to his own demise. He could only pray that his demise would not be at the hands of such a demon masqueraded as a little girl. Briefly, he realized that she was speaking again. The pitter patter of the rain drowned any sounds she might have made while moving towards him, so when he looked back at the girl he was startled to find that she was barely a breath away from him. Her previous speech was clearly meant to get some sort of reaction out of him, but he had neither the will nor the energy to try and argue with such a sharp witted fiend. Instead one of his hands covered the pale one resting against his chest. His tight grip locked about her slender wrist before giving it a harsh tug, pulling it off to the side in case she tried to rebel, and most importantly pushing her against him, covering her slender frame with his own larger one. She felt petite and cold against him, an eerie sort of cold that was clearly not from the rain. He managed a dark glare, not an arrogant one, but a deep burning pit of bitter resent, hatred, and an undeniably strong willpower to overcome even an adversary such as Laycie, "And if I am?" |

Gil’s words echoed like a symphony in the mind of the cocoa haired woman as, crimson optics gazed into the unfathomable depths of mirroring ones. A query emitted from the gander, searching for the answer in the orbs of the blonde haired man; a ponder of whether his words were a mere joke or not. Stupefaction; the façade apparent on the demon’s face as, the roles reversed. Her superior hold on him loosened a notch, the aftermath of the coarse tug as, their bodies molded together. Fire against ice, manipulation against pride, natural against unnatural. The startled gasp of air that left the woman’s lips was drowned in the melancholy of the plundering rain as, her lithe frame lay adjoined with his sinewy one. She could feel the frigidness of his fingers upon hers as, his optics discerned a look of pure acrimony. Yet, when the pure significance of his mien and words allocated in her mind, it arose a scintillation within the hearth of her being.
Laycie was ecstatic. Unanticipated was this resultant; of Gil requiring her assistance. But, it ignited a new eminence of malevolency within her. He was giving in; he was crumbling to the vindictively cordial touch of her fingers. And, it elated her. Her notion concerning him had been proven right. Gil Vessalius was paradoxical. He was a toy who had endured the torment of hands and time that controlled him. Despite the turmoil’s, her was contorted into a cleaned up piece; seemingly, looking new and reputable however, from inside, he was broken. Yet, he signified himself as new; aiming to arise recognition and frightened amiability in one. He was, indeed, a broken toy but, one that could still be played with. And, Laycie would do just that. She would play with him until, the last string of his fiber collapsed. She would affirm him of greatness yet, would slowly crumble the barriers of hubris that held him together. She would elicit a fate for him; a devious fate. It was a challenging task for, a human such as Gil was at equilibrium with the personage of toxicity such as Laycie. However, that was where the mirth would intrinsic itself.
“Oh, Gil.” A purr arose from her cupid-bow lips which now, entitled a curl upon them. One which rightfully, subjugated the levity in her as, her fingers arose to place gently upon his face. An uncanny gentleness; a cold one. “Are you sure about this? Do you know what will happen if you agree?” She questioned him further as, she leaned in obnoxiously close to him; her lips right next to his ear; a forewarning of breath ready to depart. “You will belong to me.” And amidst the cries of the rain, a pact was due to form.

I'm the one that you wanted I'm your King - @Laycie - - 433 Words - - Rightful King - | A cold touch, like that of death, upon his cheek stopped his train of thought. The icy touch was gentle causing a look of disbelief to fall across his visage. Her words and her actions seemed to conflict, something he was guilty of himself, but unlike him Laycie seemed to do so intentionally. Gil's words and actions conflicted simply because of the gap between what his head thought and what his other more primal side thought. Layice's on the other did not appear to have that gap instead she appeared to confuse others, to plunge them into a questioning sort of madness that she alone could orchestrate. "I must remain a step ahead of her if I want to win this battle." His own chilled fingers tightened around hers as she spoke. The two were engaged in a battle not of swords but of words, and Gil was at a severe disadvantage. "You will belong to me." Of course, he had suspected the consequences of making a deal with her. Yet it took a while for her words to sink in, how could one possibly make him sound like nothing more than an object? How could he possibly belong to her? That phrase could have various meanings in itself, to belong to someone. In what way would he belong to her? In body? In mind? In spirit? Could Laycie take his soul or his heart from him? Or would she own nothing more than his body as if she was his master and he her servant. Would his past, present, or future belong to her? His future crown, his kingdom, his first heir? Could it all fall into her hands rather than his? Perhaps it was only one of these that she sought to call her own or perhaps it was everything. Did she desire to have Gil in his entirety: His body, his heart, his very soul, who he was in the beginning, now, and even in the future? What exactly was it of his that would suddenly make him belong to her? Was it something he could give up in order to become a King? Anything, was worth being a King... "I accept." He could live with a part of him belonging to her, if it was only a part than surely he did not entirely belong to her. If only even a shred of himself were to escape her greed then he would still belong to himself. At least that is what he believed, but what it all came down to was: What does it mean to belong to another? |
