    Job:
    The Orphanage

    Rank:
    S

    Player Requirements:
    - 1 - 3 S-rank mages
    - 200 words per post, 25 post per player.

    Job Requirements:
    - One S-rank at least, not lower then A-rank
    - Each player has to at least roll the monster dice 8 times. The witch appears regardless of rolling the boss dice.

    Optional Requirements:
    - Discover the secret behind the witch
    - Don't harm the children, they'll still attack you tho.
    - Create an insane plot twist involving the Mayor

    Job Description:
An orphanage just a little while outside Clover Town holds an terrible secret. It is being run by an ancient witch, who uses the children in experiments to find a suitable host body. The children who fail the experiment are left with a corrupted mind. The mayor of Clover Town suspects that this orphanage is not as it seems to be and has asked for any mage or mages to help him investigate the place. Little does anyone know of what truly goes on in that orphanage...

    Enemies:
    Weak: 4 Deranged children (B-ranked)
Despite their fragile-looking figures, these kids are far from weak. They are heavily infused with the witch's magic, greatly improving their physical capabilities in exchange for their sanity. As a result, they have a 75% resistance to all magic and a 50% resistance to non-magical attacks. It takes 3 B-ranked hits to take them down.

Normal: 2 Otherworldly Beings (Unknown rank)
Some kind of inhuman apparitions that exist on a different level, thus are above the human being's ability to comprehend. All one can make out of them is that they appear to be an ever-changing body of unidentified and undefined substance which gives off immense magical energy, or at least something that feels like it. They are hostile and absolutely impervious to any kind of attack, so the means to their defeat are unknown. Perhaps you would be able to figure it out? Regardless, they deal A-ranked damage per hit.

    Strong: Humanoid Spirits (Unknown rank)
Much like the Otherworldly Beings, they are incomprehensible apparitions that exist on a different level than humans, but the difference is that the Spirits have had their idea defined, so it is possible to partially understand what they are. Beings that may have once been human - or part of one - which roam the orphanage's many maze-like halls. They seem to be able to interact with physical object if they desire it, despite their otherwise permanent intangibility, which suggests that the only time to attack them is when they attack you.  It also seems that despite interacting with physical objects directly, they seem to affect their souls, so any attacks they land against mages bypass any form of resistances they might have, as the attacks wound directly the soul. These attacks can not be healed forcibly, only through natural restoration of the body and spirit which can only be boosted via deep meditation. Each Humanoid Spirit fights via different means, but the one common trait among them is that they all use attacks that are melee ranged and deal S-ranked damage per hit.

    Boss: The Witch (SS-rank)
A woman who always appears dressed differently. Very little is known about her, but through the aura you feel from her one thing is for sure; she has been dabbling with things no one should. It takes 12 S-ranked damages to take her down.
    Abilities:

From the Other Side (S-rank): The woman causes what appears to be a portal to open behind her out of which a massive ghostly skeleton hand shoots out and tries to grab an enemy of its summoner. If it does so successfully, it deals S-rank damage and throws the one caught into the most dangerous thing nearby, dealing another A-ranked magical damage plus any damage the thing one is thrown into may cause. Unknown cool-down, is there even any?

Children of the Beyond (S-rank): The Witch opens 4 gateways around herself from which either Humanoid Spirits or Otherworldly Beings emerge. They will do absolutely everything possible to prevent mages from reaching their mistress. These gateways are opened once every 3 posts.

Glimpse (S-rank): She inflicts visions of death and spiritual demise upon her target, causing them to be incapable of actions more complex than walking for 3 posts, also causing B-ranked mental damage per post. It seems to have a 6 posts cool-down.

Yearning (A-rank): The witch exhibits capabilities to open an undefined number of small gateways from which skeletal arms sprout. She uses this both for attack and defence and it does not appear there is a limit to how much she can use this; or how many times at once. If she uses such arms to block incoming attacks, they can resist up to A-rank damage before breaking.

Within the Passageway: Ever-expanding Road (S-rank): This is an ability which activates once she suffers 6 S-ranked damages. The witch seems to start fading away slowly, but at the same time gains an incomprehensible amount of power. As a result, all her spells become H-ranked and no longer have a cool-down, and she herself becomes invincible, but at the same time suffers A-ranked damage per post until she fades away completely. Once she does die, for a brief time a gateway to an Unknown Place will be opened. Perhaps in there one may find out what the truth behind all of this is... but who knows what kind of monstrosities one might encounter there?

    Reward:
    - 80,000 Jewels each upon defeating the witch

    Optional Reward:
    - 30,000 Jewels

Standing on a small hill just outside of Clover town, overlooking the grassy fields beneath him, stood the mysterious appearance known as Frederick. His cloak which usually was wrapped around his shoulder so that it would fall down in straight line and conceal most of his body, was now fluttering in the soft gusts of wind, that also stroked through the fields waving the grass back and forth.
In the distance there was the clear silhouette of a mansion like building with several wings attached to it, and Frederick knew directly that this was his destination. The mansion presence was so contradicting with its peaceful surrounding that you could call it ominous even. Not that it was dark or grim, just were it was located felt so off-putting as flower would be in his old guild Savage Skull.

But upon approaching Frederick could sense that there was something far more off-putting then its contradiction with the surrounding nature. He could not see it, but it was clearly there. The off feeling of something sickening and dark residing in the mansion. The vibe was strong that it actually could've been oozing out from every nook and cranny. And the worst part was, Frederick had felt it before.

'So this is where you went.... Esmay' he said to himself as he read the large sign hanging over the open gate to the mansion's courtyard. 'Dandelion Orphanage'

    ~Flashback~
Savage Skull - 3 years ago

'You insolent wench! How dare you to openly defy me! ME! I am the second to the Lichborne, and in his passing it is only natural that the seat of guild master belongs to me!' It was several weeks after the battle of Magnolia were an united forces of thugs, criminals and dark mages lead by Savage Skull were crushed and defeated by the combined forces of the Legal Guilds. Their leader the Lichborne, an entity of unknown power shattered and banished to the Arcane Realm. Leaving the remnants of Savage Skull fighting as dog over a bone. They were fractured, divided into small factions and each of them wanted to posses the power of Savage Skull. And after days of intrigue and backstabbing it finally came to a boiling point were the factions couldn't outwit each other anymore.

Frederick who was openly declaring himself the next guild master was yelling angry against one of Savage Skull most powerful lieutenants, who had created her own splinter faction as well after the Lichbornes fall. And was now claiming her place on the throne by appearing and intervening in the middle of a fight with between the two other strongest factions. One existed mostly out of the remaining dark knights and was lead by Frederick and a few lower ranked mages. The other one was lead by Iscaroth, a brute of a commander with a large group of the foot soldiers and thugs that served the guild.

They were both fighting in the main hall, until a third party appeared from out the shadows and cut straight through both of their offensive lines.

'Oh please, did you really think I let you of all people get a hold of this place' said a taunting female voice coming from behind the waves of new enemies. 'You, who only wants this power so that you can continue with your own personal goals. At least I have plans for this place!'
Stepping from out the shadows, was a woman with pale skin and raven black hair. Wearing an emerald green dress that that was open from the sides, revealing far to much skin then any woman should. She stroke her hand through hair, and played with it a bit, while she clearly taunted Frederick.

'I'll rather die then hand over this guild to you and your little thralls' grunted Iscaroth from the other side of the room. His voice low yet strong, clearly to be heard above the sound of swords clashing against each other.
However the moment he said those words, several of his men around him turned around. Stabbed their swords from all side into his body. While the woman, Esmay, started talking again. 'As you wish dear'

Frederick stopped his chain of thoughts the moment he remembered how vile and evil this woman could be. Using her magic to enthrall any person she'd encountered, may it be man or woman. Which worked especially well on children who were always so easily indoctrinated by her, the most disturbing about all this was. If you were long enough under her influence you'd become more like a husk then an actual human being, always longing for her power for the connection she had with you. And now she was at it again, at the place were children were the most vulnerable. Oh this had to be a feast for her, all the young ones with an endless need to be loved, a longing for warmth and family.

However this time there was one big difference, they were both no longer in Savage Skull, and this time Frederick wouldn't stand idly by as he did back in the dark guild. No this time he would put a stop to her and her wicked ways. Even if it meant ripping her heart out and shove it down her throat.
Realizing that, Frederick raised his magical ability significantly. And while he did, the shut gate in front of him flew open, inviting him in as he made his presence known to his old foe.

By slamming a dark mass of his magic through the doors, Frederick entered the orphanage with as much violence and intimidation he could possibly muster. His aura black has night, crawled around him as he entered the rough created opening, his entire being almost being swallowed by it. Leaving only the silhouette of the man visible. His eyes so filled with vengeance and determination to settle an old score, that it almost looked like he they were crimson red and burning.

He didn't say anything, not even roared out the name of the woman he was looking for. He didn't need too, because she already knew he was here. Plus his magical power was raised so high, that it should be putting pressure on any living thing that was far down Frederick's power level. And even though the pressure was silent, it felt as if it roared for the former dark mage.

The oak wooden floor boards beneath Frederick, creaked heavily with every step he took. That pressured down it so hard that Frederick left shattered footprints in the boards behind him. He continued walking that way in a straight line, not even batting an eye for the rotting condition of the orphanages interior. May it be the black stains on the walls eating away any wallpaper there was, or the smell of mold in the tapestry.
However when he reached the giant staircase that would lead to the upper floors, Frederick was being met with a familiar voice.

    'Took you long enough'

There at the top of the stairs, leaning against the end of its railing Frederick saw her. The source of the familiar voice. Which hadn't changed one bit over the years.

'Esmay...' said Frederick cold, with a clear tone of disproval and disgust in his voice.

Just as Frederick remembered her, Esmay still wore a similar green outfit. A dress that was cut open from the bottom to almost her belly, making it possible for her to put one leg in front of the other while she walked. And revealing the unnecessary bare skin of the top of her thigh when doing so. Hell it even showed as much as the sides of her hip itself, even though it really shouldn't have. She was just as promiscuous as ever.
Her appearance was even more sensual by the velvet red hair that reached all the way down to her lower back, and had several golden strings weaved into it as ornaments. It made Frederick remember how easy it was for her to ensnare anyone just by looking at them.

She gasped upon hearing the tone of Fredericks voice, and held her hand for her mouth. An obvious act that taunted Frederick more then it could ever convince him as if she was truly hurt by his current attitude.

'oh my? Is that how you greet old colleagues now Frederick?'

Her voice suddenly coming from behind Frederick made him react on instinct, as he swung a fist  engulfed with a dark mass that way. But without hitting anything, no instead he was left hanging with nothing but a very vague after image of the woman.

He immediately glared back over to the top of the staircase, but there was only empty space to gawk at. What did he even expected to see, he knew that that woman never would be in the same spot twice, no that would be far to easy. She was probably already somewhere else in the building, hiding while she let her minions do all the dirty work. Or just waiting till Frederick made some sort of mistake.

Yet when Frederick assumed that, he came to understand that was already a mistake on itself. Suddenly out of nowhere again he heard the voice of Esmay again. But only this time it was far closer then just behind him. Not even an inch removed from his ear, he could feel the warmth of her breath as she started speak softly, almost whispering, into his ear.

'You are so much more passionate then back then, it makes me want you a bit. Urges me to make you feel good'

He could feel her pressing against him, the volume of her bosom pressing against the back of her shoulders. All while she threw her arms around Frederick, embracing him while her hands started to fiddle and caress his chest.

Together with a loud roaring sound, Frederick expanded his dark aura to such an level that it created a shockwave blast all around. Pushing back the wretched woman, whom so teasingly was hanging onto him.

With a scream, Esmay would let go of Frederick and backed away. While holding her right hand at her cheek 'My face!!' she cackled and screamed in the meanwhile 'How dare you! You insolent cur! You think you have the right to judge me now!'
Blood dripped down her hand from between her fingers, showing that the scrape on her face was large enough for it to ruin the beauty she held in such high regard. In Fredericks opinion a scar would suited her much better then her perfect porcelain skin.

'You will pay for this! Thralls! Come out and eradicate this dog!' she continued raging, after disappearing into thin air.

The moment she vanished, Frederick immediately noticed the sudden scuffling around him. Small footsteps quickly running behind, and the vague small silhouettes that disappeared behind the furniture.  And every time they did Frederick heard a soft laughter, a giggling only children could have.

It didn't took to long before Frederick caught a good glimpse of one of the children running around him, but the moment he did, he'd actually wished he didn't. Because what he saw weren't really children anymore. Whatever what is left of their childhood and innocence was long gone, as their beady little eyes glowed as red as a ruby. Their skin was corpse grey, and showed signs of some sort of regression. As the skin appeared to splinter off. But that wasn't what disturbed him the most, what did was the smiles the children had. An unnatural chesire smile that constantly stayed on their face. It was even stretched so far and wide, that the edges of their mouth showed festering wounds.

They were everywhere, running around, hoping from one hiding spot to another. And one even crawled quickly across the wall and ceiling. It generally gave the impression that there were a lot of them, yet Frederick knew that this ruse. A method to make incompetent fools piss their pants, to fool them that there were great number, while in reality Frederick already took notice of all 'four' of the kids.

Then the first one launched an assault upon Frederick, in the form of what was supposed to be a surprise attack. Which probably would have worked, if it didn't came straight at Frederick while letting out an high pitched screamed.
Without any doubt or reservation Frederick moved gracefully aside, right at the moment the kid could have clawed at him. In doing so, Frederick had evaded him and left opening for himself to strike at. Which he did so in the form of a sucker punch into the kinds neck. Which knocked him out cold instantly the moment the kid came crashing down.

The moment Frederick had crushed the first child into the ground, the remaining three immediately jumped into action. And charged at the cloaked man from different sides, making it a bit harder for the him the maneuver.

The first one Frederick managed to take out, was the one who closed in on him the fastest. Coming from the right it came at him with a small hatchet raised high, probably planning to swing it straight into Frederick. However the moment the kid swung his axe into his targets direction, Frederick stopped him by simply grabbing hold onto the kids arm that wielded the weapon and swinging him into the nearest wall. It wouldn't knock the kid out, but at least it would give Frederick some room.

The second one came at Frederick from the front as well, which proved to it hadn't took notice of the first attacked who had failed at the same attempt. Or so Frederick thought, the moment he gather a dark mass around his fist to strike with at his enemy. Something from the top of the ceiling fell down and clung onto his neck. It was the last of remaining children, that seemed more ferocious then the other three. As he started scratching and clawing at ever possible opening Frederick provided for him.

Grunting in anger, Frederick finally managed to grab a hold of the tiny kid that was assaulting him from above. By reaching what seems to be his left leg, he swung the kid from over his neck straight into the one that came at him from the front.

Thinking he had created some room to breath for a moment and to asses the situation, Frederick immediately got attack again. Only this time by something else entirely.
Passing straight through him and leaving him with a numb and cold feeling, was some strange spirit like being. Or that was what Frederick assumed at least, since it didn't had a face. It only had some sort of humanoid form, that was transparent.

The moment it passed through Frederick, he was left with an empty and cold feeling. Weakened even as Frederick felt as if he was out of breath, just like as if he had been running for an hour straight without even changing the pace.
Frederick immediately turned around towards the spirit like entity, and swung hist fist straight into where its face was supposed to be. However without luck, in fact Frederick didn't even knew what he expected to happen to moment he punched a spirit. His fist went straight through the being, sending another sensation of cold and chill straight through Fredericks arm and all the way to his torso.

'Frederick you fool!' he cursed at himself, knowing how stupid it must have looked to literally punch a ghost. Because everyone knew that ghosts and spirits couldn't be hurt through physical means, and if you didn't knew that then at least the transparent part should've given that away.

In the meanwhile, the three children had had fended off in the first wave of attacks started to regain their posture. The once who were tangled up within each other slowly started to crawl up, while the other one who was smacked against the wall grabbed his hatchet back up from the ground. And to make matter even worse, another spirit started to approach fast from the top of the staircase.
'Guess it's time to bring out the big guns huh...'
