Description:
Dragon Slayer magic is an ancient magic which doesn’t originate from humans, but from dragons. In the past dragons found reason to share their power with humans (for various reasons) and taught them the same magic as they themselves used, each type of dragon sharing their own element (Fire dragons give Fire magic, Shadow dragons give Shadow magic, etc.) However when humans used this magic it had different effects than when it was used by dragons: because the magic used by dragons is also effective against dragons (after all, they need it to fight each other), humans began to see it as a type of magic designed to slay the very same dragons who taught it to them. Besides of that Dragon Slayer magic also has a secondary effect, one which most humans never realized: to use Dragon Slayer magic is to use the magic of dragons. However their magic is an inherent part of a dragon’s being. As such, to use the magic of a dragon is to also slowly turn into one.
Of course, most Dragon Slayers either found a way to prevent this from happening, or never got to the point where they would notice anything different about themselves other than maybe increased physical strength and keen senses. Even if Dragon Slayer magic turns you into a dragon the process is still actually quite slow. Killing dragons and absorbing their power speeds up the process, but other than that the chances of the average Dragon Slayer actually becoming a dragon are very low.
For Akeya, however, things are a bit different. Due to her history and lineage she already was partly a dragon, so when she learned the magic of dragons it caused a reaction within her a lot stronger than with most Dragon Slayers, who when they learn their magic are still completely human. While Akeya is still mostly a human a large enough part of her has become draconic that it is altering her very form, and it looks like the rate at which she’s turning into a dragon is also going to be a lot higher than that of most normal humans.
Shadow Dragons in particular have magic which revolves around being stealthy and agile, taking down their quarry quickly and efficiently. They can evade attacks by becoming one with the shadows (after all, you can’t punch a shadow), moving as swiftly and silently as a shadow so their prey is helpless, having no way to defend itself, nowhere to run, and if unlucky they won’t even know what took them down.
Akeya takes to the magic of the Shadow Dragon Slayer rather well, since even before she already preferred to fight in such a way as to avoid direct conflict, seeking approaches that would allow her to silently kill her target with one swift strike. Now that she has become a Shadow Dragon Slayer that has become even easier for her, using the shadows to quickly move from one spot to another without a sound, hiding in the shadows to avoid being seen, when necessary becoming one with the shadows to avoid taking damage while taking down her target. Whereas most Dragon Slayers try to gain plenty of raw strength Akeya prefers to rely on skill and the ability to become one and use the shadows.

Strengths:
- The more shadows there are in the vicinity the stronger this magic is, because every shadow is something that can be used.
- Can consume darkness and shadow to regain energy and strength.
- Enemy abilities that use shadows/darkness are less effective.
- Good for those who want to fight up close, due to having passive bonuses to physical power and most spells being close range types.
- Very useful when used for assassination, granting the user the ability to stay undetected while at the same time moving about quickly.
- Weaker attacks can easily be dodged by turning into a shadow.
- Deals increased damage against Dragons and Dragonkin.
Weaknesses:
- Turning into a shadow doesn’t grant immunity against more powerful types of attacks, both magical.
- When in shadow form the user can’t attack, forcing them to materialize the part of their body that would perform the attack and in the process becoming vulnerable to counter-attacks.
- Weak against light, since light dispels shadows and darkness and light are opposites, with light usually coming out on top.
- Can only eat shadow and darkness when those are ‘pure’. Pure in this case means not mixed with another type of element. A combination of shadows and flames would not be safe to eat.
- Weak against God and Demon Slayers that use Shadow magic themselves. Fallen Gods and Hell Demons can eat the shadows used by a Shadow Dragon, but a Shadow Dragon can’t eat the shadows used by a Fallen God or a Hell Demon. Same counts for any other God or Demon Slayer who is able to eat shadows/darkness.
- While good for close range combat this magic lacks many long range attacks.
- Can not eat shadows or darkness created by the user themselves. It would be like eating yourself.
- Dragon Slayers can not ride any type of vehicle without suffering from motion sickness to such an extend that it incapacitates them. However this only counts for vehicles: Dragon Slayers are not affected by motion sickness when carried by allies or friends.
Lineage:
Dragon’s Blood.
Unique Abilities:
- (Shadow) Dragon Slayer specific:
- Physical ability (strength, speed, toughness, reflexes, the whole package) enhanced by 10%.
- 25% resistance towards shadow/darkness based abilities of equal rank, 10% of rank above, and no reduction for abilities two ranks above or higher. 30% if one rank lower and 50% if two ranks lower.
- Enhanced senses (smell, hearing, sight).
- Can eat shadows and darkness to regain energy and strength. Can only eat pure shadows and darkness (neutral), if mixed with another element it makes her sick rather than giving her energy.
- Dragon Force: If Akeya consumes over 70% in magical energy from her respective element (shadows/darkness) and her maximum of magical energy matches or exceeds 150% she will activate Dragon Force. This must be done within 5 posts, or the amount of magical energy that exceeds the normal 100% limit will disappear and the process restarts.
While Dragon Force is active Akeya's entire body becomes covered in dark blue scales, her build becomes slightly more reptilian, and her magic, strength, endurance, and speed are all strengthened to the point where they are the same as if she were of the next rank. The spell power of her abilities all rises to 150%. Shadows clothe her entire body, making it harder to see her or make out details, and all physical attacks now cause shadow damage equal to Akeya's rank. While Dragon Force is active Akeya does not lose magical power from casting spells, but after it ends (7 posts duration) she is left with only 5% of her magical power.- Physical ability (strength, speed, toughness, reflexes, the whole package) enhanced by 10%.
- As a creature of shadows Akeya is more in her element while in dark places. While in shadowy or dark locations Akeya’s speed is increased by 15%.
- Akeya can execute something best called a Shadow Dash. Said dash has a maximum distance of 30 yards, and a maximum speed of 120 yards/second. Shadow Dash can be divided into up to three separate dashes, although the maximum distance stays the same. During shadow dash Akeya is covered in shadows, making it hard for others to make out any details and becoming elusive in dark areas as the shadows blend in with the already present darkness.
- Akeya can freely shift in and out of shadow form, using 2.5% of her mana for each post in which she does this but having no limit to the amount of times she can shift in a post (no matter how often she shifts in a post the cost stays at 2.5% of her mana). While in shadow form Akeya automatically dodges physical attacks and can move at high speed (15% speed increase). Magic attacks can still hit her, although certain status effects won’t work (mostly case by case, depending on whether it makes sense. Primary example is that as a shadow Akeya can’t be influenced by gravity because she has no mass).
- While standing in the shadows Akeya becomes hard to spot, her form appearing to merge with the darkness.
- Due to her having become part dragon Akeya is a rather intimidating figure, allowing her to successfully threaten and persuade people with a weak will. The more agitated Akeya is the stronger her draconic lineage reveals itself, which in turns strengthens the intimidating effect. If strong enough this effect can cause people to hallucinate, confusing Akeya for a real dragon.

In the shadows one cannot always trust their eyes. At least, those who don’t have the right eyes for darkness. Using this idea as a basis Akeya creates shadows of objects that are not actually there, confusing and deceiving opponents. Those images follow the same rules as normal shadows, except that instead of them being cast by an object Akeya forms and shapes them. Shadow Image can be cast and maintained in a distance up to 20 yards from Akeya. Maximum surface area is roughly 3 square yards.
Strengths:- Because Akeya just creates a shadow instead of a fully three-dimensional figure it is rather easy to create and maintain.
- Fairly long range means Akeya can use it to deceive people while doing something else herself.
- Surface is big enough that Akeya can create a wide variety of different shadows.
- Akeya can also use this spell in conjunction with other spells or abilities that improve or only work when in a dark/shadowy location (consumption obviously being exempt).
Weaknesses:- The Shadow Image is only immune to any illumination that was already present when Akeya created it. If a new source of light appears the Shadow Image is destroyed.
- Only works if there are already plenty of shadows (or the target is incredibly dumb), and if there are enough obstacles that the target can’t see that there actually is no object (or if once again the target is just really dumb).
- Akeya is consciously in control of the shadow, so how the shadow acts depends on what she knows. This also means that if for example the source of light that would cast the shadow moves Akeya has to have the Shadow Image adapt to that, or people will quickly realize that something is off.
- Shadow Image is immediately destroyed if a magical type of illumination is present.
- If somebody can see through illusions, they can also see through Shadow Image.
- Because Akeya just creates a shadow instead of a fully three-dimensional figure it is rather easy to create and maintain.

A rather simple but effective technique, Akeya creates a small barrier out of shadows, meant to block some weak magics or physical attacks before dispersing. Maximum surface of the barrier is 6 square feet. Must be formed within 1 foot of Akeya, and for its duration will stay in the same position in relation to Akeya (or a part of her body if she purposefully made it like that).
Strengths:- Can block up to 2 D-Rank damage or 1 C-Rank damage. Disperses after limit is reached.
- Akeya can have this barrier float above her arm and use it like a short-duration buckler.
- Blocking an attack with this barrier does not inflict any recoil on Akeya herself, meaning that she can keep moving without interruptions.
- Akeya decides the shape of the barrier, increasing flexibility.
Weaknesses:- Can only endure 1 D-Rank light based damage before dispersing.
- Has the same weaknesses as any small barrier has.
- Is not large enough to cover Akeya’s entire body unless she curls up to decrease her effective surface area.
- Completely useless against stuff like poison, illusions, or anything of the like.
- While Akeya can decide how the barrier is fixed in position in relation to her she can’t change that after the barrier is already formed, so if the enemy anticipates that and changes the direction of their attacks the barrier has little use.
- Can block up to 2 D-Rank damage or 1 C-Rank damage. Disperses after limit is reached.

If a target or object finds itself within 5 yards of Akeya she can use this ability, at which point strings made out of shadow will shoot out of the target’s shadow and wrap around them, preventing them from moving or acting.
The Shadow Strings act like chains: they attach themselves to the neck, ankles, and wrists (and other joints if applicable) and then pull themselves taut.
Strengths:- Does not require Akeya to be in direct contact with the target: as long as they’re within range she can make the strings appear.
- Once the strings have formed Akeya no longer needs to control them, leaving her free to act.
- Can be used to both keep somebody from moving or to tie something to the ground.
Weaknesses:- Lasts 2 posts on D-Rank enemies, 1 post on C-Rank enemies, and enemies of a higher level can pretty much immediately break the strings.
- Akeya doesn’t have to control the strings, but that also means that the strings can’t be altered once cast: they bind once, and if the enemy somehow escapes or breaks them the strings are gone.
- The strings can be destroyed with 1 D-Rank light damage or 2 D-Rank non-light damage.
- Can only bind enemies of human size. The strings can’t wrap themselves properly around anything bigger than that.
- Once the strings have pulled themselves taut once they won’t shrink afterwards, so somebody could regain some of their movements by moving closer to their shadow.
- Does not require Akeya to be in direct contact with the target: as long as they’re within range she can make the strings appear.

”Kagegaitou”
One of the most common and simplistic of shadow based techniques, Akeya covers herself with a cloak made out of shadows, erasing her from sight as long as she doesn’t move from that position and isn’t too energetic in that spot.
Strengths:- Rather long duration for a D-Rank invisibility.
- Regardless of where Akeya is when she uses this ability, it makes her completely invisible to the naked eye.
- While she can not move too much while this is active Akeya can still do some minor stuff, like slowly drawing a weapon or hiding something underneath her clothing.
Weaknesses:- Can not move. Pretty straightforward.
- Akeya can still be hit while in this state. If an attack, spell or ability hits the spot that she occupies being invisible won’t help her much.
- Doesn’t work against opponents who can see straight through illusions or who are good at sensing magic with great precision.
- Doesn’t erase scent, sound, or the like.
- Rather long duration for a D-Rank invisibility.

Akeya clothes herself with shadows, granting her complete invisibility while in dark areas. In light areas she instead becomes harder to detect and hard to concentrate on, her general form still being obscured with the shadows constantly shifting and reshaping to prevent focus.
Strengths:- Instead of merely being hard to detect in dark areas this ability makes Akeya completely invisible, further increasing her ability to sneak about.
- Shadow Dance is not interrupted by using spells, abilities or attacks.
- Even when in a lighter area enemies still have a harder time spotting Akeya, and even if they do the shifting and changing shadows hiding her make it hard for them to focus.
Weaknesses:- While it still works while in the light the effects are greatly reduced.
- Only hides Akeya from visual detection. It does not remove her scent or muffle the sounds she might make.
- Is ineffective against those who can for example see/sense magic acutely or who can see through illusions (technically this isn’t an illusion but the same principles are in effect).
- While not removed by mundane light, light created through magic will still destroy the shadows and end the spell.
- Instead of merely being hard to detect in dark areas this ability makes Akeya completely invisible, further increasing her ability to sneak about.

Akeya disconnects herself from her shadow, allowing her to move freely while her shadow stays where it was when she activated this ability. While this ability is active Akeya is immune to most status effects which hinder movement (anything which would also change the form of her shadow, like bindings and snares), instead slipping through them as if she herself were the shadow (same or lesser rank). Akeya can move 40 yards away from her shadow before it automatically rejoins her.
Strengths:- Upon activation and the rest of the duration Akeya is immune to various abilities which would otherwise hinder her movement.
- Can be used both for approaching the enemy and for escaping safely.
- Allows for the use of the C-Rank spell ‘Remembering the Past’.
Weaknesses:- Does not provide immunity against abilities which hinder movement by affecting Akeya directly (for example paralysis).
- The spell immediately ends if somebody uses light to destroy the shadow Akeya leaves behind.
- Does not in any way enhance fighting ability besides preventing Akeya being tied down.
- Does not prevent damage. If Akeya is hit by bindings made out of flames she would still be burned, even if it would not actually bind her.
- Does not work against spells of a higher rank.
- Upon activation and the rest of the duration Akeya is immune to various abilities which would otherwise hinder her movement.

Akeya reconnects herself with the shadow that she abandoned before, immediately returning to where she left her shadow without passing through the space in between. Doing this also returns her shadow to normal and reattaches it to her.
Strengths:- Unlike Shadow Step or any other movement ability Akeya has this allows her to move from one spot to another without actually passing through the space in between the two locations, meaning it isn’t hindered by obstacles.
- Makes use of the otherwise completely useless shadow created by ‘Shadow of the Past’.
- Since this is basically a teleport it has no travel time.
- Only limit to distance is how far away Akeya can get in the two posts that ‘Shadow of the Past’ lasts.
Weaknesses:- Only usable if ‘Shadow of the Past’ is active.
- While unaffected by obstacles in between Akeya and her shadow she can’t use this ability if there is an obstacle directly on top of the shadow.
- Since it only works on her shadow enemies always know where Akeya will teleport to.
- Using this ability immediately ends ‘Shadow of the Past’.
- Using this only changes Akeya’s location and not her position. If she tried to use it while falling she would reappear right on top of her shadow...still falling downwards with the exact same speed as before. Ouch.
- Unlike Shadow Step or any other movement ability Akeya has this allows her to move from one spot to another without actually passing through the space in between the two locations, meaning it isn’t hindered by obstacles.

Akeya concentrates, gathering energy around one of her hands (or feet). The chosen limb is covered in shadows, forming a sharp and deadly claw. With this claw Akeya then proceeds to slash at her target, dealing shadow damage while also cutting as deeply as if it was a solid claw. This attack has a slightly longer reach than Akeya’s normal attack due to the addition of claws (nothing more than a couple of inches though).
Strengths:- Has no cast time and can be created without warning, allowing Akeya to quickly and suddenly inflict a heavy wound.
- Inflicts B-Rank shadow damage upon impact (slashing type).
- Has no special requirements and can be used often.
Weaknesses:- Is melee range, and Akeya can only keep the claw active for a couple of seconds, so it’s useless in a situation where the target is at a distance.
- While it acts like a claw and thus can cut and carve it can also be blocked like a claw.
- Doesn’t enhance actual strength or speed, so can only be used if Akeya is also able to hit the target without this ability.
- Can only be used on one appendage at a time, so if that appendage gets locked down the spell is also nullified.
- Has no cast time and can be created without warning, allowing Akeya to quickly and suddenly inflict a heavy wound.

Akeya condenses shadows into two dozen small dark bullets around herself, which she then controls and uses to assault her enemies from a distance. She has a variety of choices in how she attacks using these scales: she can send them all to hit one spot, send them as a spray, a cone, or an all around burst. The scales can fly for about 40 yards and move at high enough speed that to block one would have to rely on their reflexes.
Strengths:- Can be used for both close combat and midrange attacks.
- Akeya can freely control the scales, allowing for a wide variety of possible attacks.
- One dozen of the scales hitting the same spot deal B-Rank shadow damage (piercing). Six scales hitting the same spot deal C-Rank shadow damage (piercing).
- The scales are made of condensed shadows, making them rather hard and durable.
Weaknesses:- While all scales used together can deal a lot of damage each scale on each own is rather weak, meaning that if used to assault multiple targets the damage dealt sharply decreases.
- The scales are very precise, which means that while they’re good for hitting vulnerable areas they are fairly useless against targets without weak spots (or weak spots that Akeya doesn’t know of).
- The scales can be destroyed using a spell that's one rank lower, or a light based ability that is two ranks lower.
- Once Akeya has launched the scales she can only change their course roughly, meaning that they can’t be used to go around corners and can be dodged easily if somebody can predict their trajectory.
- Akeya needs a couple of seconds to form and launch the scales.
- Can be used for both close combat and midrange attacks.

Akeya inhales and concentrates, drawing energy from herself and the surrounding shadows before releasing a roar reminiscent to that of an actual dragon, at the same time releasing the gathered energy in the form of dark flames. These dark flames form a cone of destruction in front of Akeya which extends to up to 20 yards (the end of the cone is about 7~10 yards wide and high). This cone only lasts for a couple of seconds unless Akeya decides to use double the normal amount of energy, which allows her to keep it up for up to half a minute, increasing the damage dealt to anything caught within the torrent of darkness. Anything that is hit by this attack will have the dark flames gnawing at their body for a while after, effectively causing the wound to further fall apart and increasing the amount of damage taken.
Strengths:- Deals B-Rank shadow damage to anything hit, then another C-Rank shadow damage over the duration of two posts.
- If Akeya decides to put more energy behind the roar another B-rank damage is dealt to everything which stays inside the area of effect for the entire duration.
- In contrast to ‘Shadow Dragon’s Scales’ this attack deals a large amount of damage in a large area rather than only one spot.
- Akeya’s most powerful ability, powerful enough that it wins clashes with other spells of the same rank, light based spells being an exception.
- While in Dragon Force this automatically becomes the empowered version.
Weaknesses:- Because it requires several seconds to prepare and any mage can sense the amount of energy Akeya gathers before releasing the attack it is rather easy to avoid.
- Can be negated using a light spell of the same rank, although the light spell would also be negated in the process.
- While the roar ends up as a cone the actual target is always that which finds itself in the centre of it. It turns into a cone because once released the dark flames spread out. However the intensity in the middle is still strongest, so targets at the edge of the roar only take 75% of the damage that a target getting the full blast would take.
- The decay effect inflicted upon anything hit is directly removed if the target is healed/dispelled/repaired.
- While releasing the roar Akeya is stationary and can’t move, making her vulnerable to counter-attacks. This counts doubly so for if she uses the empowered version.
- This ability is in no way whatsoever stealthy, making it a rather awful attack in combination with the rest of Akeya’s assassination style.
- While the empowered version does significantly more damage that damage increase only applies to targets that don’t manage to get out of the area of effect after the original release.
- Double the magic power at best increases the total damage done by 66% (normal does 3 C-Rank, empowered does 5 C-Rank), meaning that the empowered version is less cost-effective.
- Deals B-Rank shadow damage to anything hit, then another C-Rank shadow damage over the duration of two posts.
