- Job Title: Size Matters
Rank: C
Player Requirements: 20 Posts of 200 words or more. Maximum 3 mages.
Job Requirements: Defeat at least 5 enemies and defeat the magpie to get the ring.
Job Location: Clover Town
Job Description: Mrs. Cartigan, a retired bromance has lost her wedding ring in her garden and needs help finding it. Her garden is incredibly lush, and as such, searching from above will be neigh impossible. Because of this, Mrs. Cartigan will shrink you down to search for her ring. Beware, for as your size scales down, so does your power. Small creatures like rodents and insects are now very real threats. Characters are shrunken down to 2 centimeters in size.
Note: Due to the fact the mages are shrunk down for this job it is impossible for it to be invaded.
Enemies:
Weak:
Ant: A single and out looking for food for its colony. Not too threatening, but can still have a nasty bite. Takes 1-2 C rank hits to kill. Bites do C-rank damage.
Cricket: Crickets are large and can pack a powerful bite, but are not very predatory. Defeating them just means proving you are too much trouble to eat. Takes 1-2 C rank hits to scare off. Bites do C-rank damage
Normal:
Harvestman: Although their bite is less damaging than that of a cricket, the harvestman's long legs make it difficult to fight against. While they look like spiders, they aren't actually, and lack venom. Harvestmen take 3 C-rank hits to their body to kill, or the removal of all legs. Legs come off after taking 1 D rank hit and are much easier to hit than the body. Its relatively small jaws only do D-ranked damage.
Beetle: A predatory beetle with a sturdy exoskeleton and strong mandibles. Its bite deals C-ranked damage and it can take 4 C-ranked hits.
Strong:
Wasp: A predatory wasp with strong jaws and a stinger. Wasps are sturdy, hard to hit, and deadly. They can sting multiple times and will likely employ hit-and-run tactics. Their wings are the weakest point, and hitting them can force the wasp to land. Bite deals C-ranked damage and can pick up opponents to shake them for additional D-ranked damage. Sting deals D-ranked damage on hit and B-ranked damage over 3 posts. Wasps take 5 C-ranked hits to kill. 1 D ranked hit to the wings from fire, electricity, or water magic or 1 C ranked hit of anything else will force it to land.
Jumping Spider: Nimble and venomous, jumping spiders tend to ambush their prey. It is very likely that these deadly predators will take those seeking the ring by surprise. Their powerful bite deals C-ranked damage when it hits and B-ranked damage over 3 posts. Their incredible speed will make them hard for even the fastest of mages to hit, and their sturdy exoskeleton can withstand up to 5 C-ranked hits.
Boss:
Magpie: A magpie swoops overhead and lands nearby with none other than Mrs. Cartigan's wedding ring in its beak! It won't give up its new prize easily though, the magpie. With you at such a small size, this bird is a fearsome enemy. It can attack with its beak or lash out with its talons to deal B rank damage and flap its wings to knock enemies near it back, kicking up dirt and dust in the process. The magpie will take 15 C-ranked hits before it is defeated and flies away. The magpie will appear after 15 posts.
Reward: 10000 jewels and 12 homemade cookies (cookies do nothing, but are delicious).

Arriving at the home of the client after a wet and uneventful journey from Hargeon Town, Ni-Ju and Cyrus were greeted at the door by the lady's family butler, an older gentleman with a large crescent shaped scar running horizontally across his throat. Gesturing for them to follow him out of the rain before they even had a chance to introduce themselves, he turned and began leading them through the house. Following the butler through a set of glass paned double doors opposite of where they had first entered the building, the young mages found themselves standing on a covered patio overlooking a large decorative garden.
Clearing her throat softly to get their attention, the lady of the house placed a small silk ribbon in the book she had been reading and sat it down on the bench beside her before getting to her feet. "I welcome you to my humble abode good sirs and may I say thank goodness you both were so prompt in getting here." She gushed excitedly. "I really must apologize for all the trouble this has caused but my husband would be especially cross with me if he were to find out that the ring he gave me for our wedding day had gone missing. So this is a matter of some urgency.". Taking a piece of chalk from the pocket of her dress, Mrs Cartigan crouched down and began drawing a circle on the stone floor of the patio. Adding a few lines to the center she seemed satisfied with the results and got back to her feet. Suddenly quite businesslike, she gestured for one of them to enter the circle impatiently. "After you." Ni-Ju quipped, looking over his shoulder at Cyrus.

Cyrus walked alongside his teammate through the house. He looked the butler up and down. He seemed tough, but not a mage. It would be easy to fight him if needed. Of course, that's not why they were here. The two relatively short mages were here to be shrunk down even more to attempt to find the wedding ring of their client. Once they arrived on the patio, he finally met said client and listened to her briefing of their mission. He nodded silently as the hidden Venti flitted around. He wondered how this was going to go. His new sword would come in handy, yes, but then again, there were so many potential obstacles for shrunken mages.
He bowed in respect to Ni-Ju's offer and stepped in the circle. Thoughts raced through his head as he saw his friend step in. "Quick question, Lady Cartigan, what does this ring of yours look like? Perhaps it could be useful information."
She raised an eyebrow, "I'll have you know there is only one lost ring in my garden. I'm not that careless. Now please search for it mage."
He smiled, "Fine fine, then off we go," he said, nodding at his teammate Ni-Ju.

Ni-Ju stepped into the circle, following Cyrus, and stood patiently while Lady Cartigan began chanting and dancing around them to a beat that only she seemed able to hear. With each complete pass around the circle, Ni-Ju could feel as a warm sensation spread from the tips of his toes to the top of his head. "I hope to hell whatever shes doing doesn't have a permanent impact on my growth." He whispered to Cyrus, as the Lady of the house finished her final circuit and came to a sudden halt, eyeballing both of the Lamia mages with an ironically raised eyebrow that made it clear that she had heard exactly what he said.
Staring into that irony filled gaze, the world began to spin in a bright flash of almost palpable color as if Ni-Ju had been suddenly dropped into a whirlwind of light and sound without any means to stop or orientate himself. As the colors faded from his eyes, Ni-Ju found himself flat on his back staring at patches of the stormy sky through a rose trellis that now resembled some kind of massive set of intersecting wooden walls. Ni-Ju got to his feet and began scanning the area for Cyrus, spotting him getting shakily to his own feet a few dozen paces away. "Are you all in one piece?" He called out, checking himself over as he did so.
