Primary Magic: Story of the Sword
Secondary Magic:
Caster or Holder: Holder/Lost Magic
Description: Story of the Sword is a Holder Magic that has secretly existed since Fiore was first-discovered. A book and sword existed, bonded together by a single magic reserve. The writer of this book created several tales of different swordsman. Each swordsman held the same sword, except for a distinct purpose. This very sword was created officially by the same person who wrote this book. Later on, as magic was also first-discovered in Fiore, so was magic in the author. The author blessed the book and sword during his life, and passed them onto his successor, who did the same once he or she died in his or her lifetime. Ultimately, the author and his successors literally lived by this book. The author lived by the first chapter he wrote in this book; the first sword he described, then sent his successor off to live by the second sword. A final chapter came about during Ayato's time, and was known as "Genesis": the beginning of time. This tale told of the ultimate swordsman, who united the powers of all previous swordsman into one.
Ayato uses this Lost Magic properly by holding the book and sword at the same time, every time the two are in need, for they only work together. The book and sword were blessed to never leave their owner's side when in desperate need, which is considered to be Ayato's "starting benefit." As a D-Rank Mage, however, Ayato can only control the powers of Chapter One in his ancestor's book. The book and sword were blessed to look modern in any generation they've lived in, thankfully, and so while one would think the book is too old to be comprehensible, it is not.
Strengths:
- Instant- Transactions with this magic are immediate
- Versatile- Numerous abilities were written in this book, and so as long as Ayato is strong enough to control them, they are all in his grasp
- The Aspect of Self- The objective of this magic is to enhance the user, which it can do in endless ways: speed, strength, health- whatever is written in the book as long as the user can handle it. So far, Ayato can only lift as much as his weight, regardless of magic. However, as he ranks up, Ayato could lift various heavy items that an average man couldn't normally lift. It is all dependent on rank for each aspect of self. For example, he could lift a 10 foot tree with 2 feet in diameter.
Weaknesses:
- Drains Life- As the user is connected with his book and sword under this form of magic, every spell costs the user a various amount of health. The set amount is listed in his spells.
- Extra MP- Due to the immense power produced from this form of magic, extra magic power is required to use spells in Ayato's case than the average Mage. The set amount is listed in his spells.
- Metallic Material- These spells are useless against metal-related materials of equal rank (regarding strength).
Abilities/Powers:
- Channeling- Allows the user to convert abilities written in an ancient book (the one specified in the magic description) to his sword (also specified in the magic description)
- Expulsion- Allows the user to expel whatever abilities that his sword gathers towards his opponent in a negative manner (regarding the target). For example, Ayato converts a fire-related spell written in his book to his sword, then unleashes that same fire upon the enemy.
- Story and Sword- This allows Ayato to place his swords in a portal created by his book (solely for that purpose) for later use.
- Perfect Memory- All memories Ayato experiences are stored in the book. Additionally, by focusing on the book, Ayato can recover the memories, making his own memory perfect.
- D-Ranked Spells:
- Name: Chapter One- Unsheathed Seeker
Rank: D
Type: Supportive
Description: By remaining still, while before an incoming attack, or within the presence of a D-Ranked summon, Ayato lunges his sword upward, and creates a black hole in the sky. This black hole only devours the summon(s), or spells incoming instantaneously, ultimately ceasing their existence. This is a sacred spell that devours spells even the user's naked eye cannot trace. Instead, the sword lunges itself immediately, as if it has its own eye, and causes the black hole to open instantly.
Strengths:- Nullification- Nullifies a spell of equal rank via a black hole
- Immediate- Can capture spells even a naked eye couldn't see
- Activation- Activates instantly upon the sword detecting an incoming spell or assault from a D-Ranked summon, and devours that threat
Weaknesses:- Immobile- Other than the uncontrollable movement of the sword, the user mustn't move for this spell to activate properly.
- Mandatory- This is a mandatory spell that must activate (unless on cooldown), if a noteworthy spell (a D-Ranked spell or summoning) is detected, thus giving the user no freedom
- Life-Draining- Subtracts 5 health from the user
- Cost- Costs 1.5 amounts of D-Ranked spell activations (15% MP for a D-Rank)
- Duration/Cooldown- Can only be used once per post, and for one post only before a three-post cool-down is required
Name: Chapter One- Judgment
Rank: D
Type: Supportive
Description: This spell can only be used under the conditions that the target has already been hit by the user's sword directly, or has been impacted by another spell known as Unsheathed Seeker. This spell will literally divide any C or D-Rank offensive spell the opponent uses next (despite speed), and redirect it towards him or her with perfect accuracy. The redirected spell will gain new properties (though the original speed will remain unedited), and deal no damage. The divided spell, however, if it connects with the target, will leave a yellow circle on both sides of the target. These are known as stun points, and will paralyze the target for one post. This does not mean, however, that the opponent cannot use spells. The opponent can still use spells if the spells do not require any movement. The stun also deactivates if the opponent changes form, afterwards (Example: Shadow Dragon Slayers turn into shadows)
Strengths:- Stunning- This spell is capable of stunning the opposition for one post. The opposition must be D-Ranked.
- Two better than One- This spell divides an opposing spell by two, and redirects the split spell towards the enemy
- Speed- The speed of the redirected spell remains unedited, despite being divided into two
Weaknesses:- Prerequisites- The user must have already assaulted the enemy or used Unsheathed Seeker to properly use this technique
- Life-Draining- This technique requires 10% health
- Immobile- The user mustn't move for this technique to activate and resolve successfully. It is the book and sword that detect the incoming assault which triggers this spell
- Cost- Requires 1.5 amounts of D-Ranked magic to use (15% for a D-Rank Mage)
- Duration/Cooldown- This spell can be used only once per post, and for one post only before a three-post cool-down is required
Name: Chapter One- Ghost
Rank: D
Type: Supportive
Description: This spell can only be used after Unsheathed Seeker and Judgment have been used prior to this technique's activation. Through the previous two spells: Unsheathed Seeker and Judgment, the book has now read the enemy perfectly, and has gained an unrivalled sense of his/her magic, but only for a short time. This allows Ghost to trigger, which grants Ayato the freedom to phase through a following assault the foe utilizes, whether it'd be a physical attack or offensive spell. Once the user phases through the assault, he may proceed to unleash his own assault upon the enemy with his sword.
Strengths:- Phasing- Allows Ayato literally run through any type of assault untouched, and proceed as if nothing happened to him
- Additional Sense- Ayato now recognizes the form of magic the foe uses, and thanks to the book, identifies who the foe is
- Good for Surprises- Self-explanatory. If Ayato uses this technique in a close range, it could grant him an open, nearly inevitable strike towards the enemy
Weaknesses:- Prerequisites- The user must have used Unsheathed Seeker and Judgment prior to this technique for it to work
- Life-Draining- Activating this spell requires 10% health to be lost
- Cost- Requires 1.5 amounts of D-Ranked magic to activate (15% magic power for a D-Ranked Mage)
- Limitations- The phasing process can only be used on either physical assaults (punching, kicking, etc) or D-Ranked spells
- Duration/Cooldown- This spell can only be used once per post, and for one post only before a three-post cool-down is required
Name: End of Chapter- Annihilation
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Description: Requires the usage of Unsheathed Seeker, Judgment and Ghost prior to this spell's activation. When the requirements are met, this spell calls one thousand swords to surround the target in a perfect circle, then travel towards the enemy at 40MPH. The first sword to connect with the target deals D-Ranked damage, whereas the rest leave stun points upon the target. If any stun point is left on the target, it paralyzes them for two posts. This does not mean that the stun points stack. It is only the first stun point that paralyzes the target. The swords that follow after this point are just left for distraction and bluffs, and realistically do nothing upon the enemy. This means it is truly only the first and second sword out of the thousand that matter. The swords are summoned within a 15 meter radius of the target.
Strengths:- Stunning- Paralyzes the user for two posts (only D-Ranked Mages)
- Multiple Strikes- By sacrificing his original sword for one post, a thousand are made instantaneously, surrounding the target
- Bluffs and Distractions- Only the first and second sword that strike successfully are important as they deal damage to the enemy, and paralyze him or her. The rest are just used to make the foe hesitate, or feel endangered
Weaknesses:- Life-Draining- Costs the user 10 health to use
- Cost- Requires 1.5 amounts of D-Ranked magic to use successfully (15% magic power removed for a D-Ranked Mage)
- Immobile- The user cannot move for this technique to activate and resolve successfully
- Affection- This technique only affects D-Ranked Mages
- Duration/Cooldown- This spell can only be used once per post, and for one post only. This spell cannot be used again until Unsheathed Seeker, Judgment and Ghost are all used an additional time
Name Chapter One: Tale of Two
Rank: D
Type: Supportive
Description: This spell extracts the souls that reside in Ayato's sword and book, blends them into one, and awakens a new physical form aside their original owner. This new body goes by name Daisuke, which means "great help" in Japanese. Daisuke possesses the same D-Ranked spells as Ayato, though he cannot learn anything further unless a higher-ranked version of himself were to be created. To possess such powers, however, requires half of Ayato's energy, though in exchange, Daisuke can be just as effective as his owner with his spells, tactics, maneuvers, movements, etc. Daisuke also shares a mind with Ayato, as he would as both a book and sword. Outside of magic, Daisuke is just as intelligent as Ayato compared to every other quality Ayato possesses; physically and mentally. He understands what it means to be human, and how they behave. Otherwise, his inner strength is equal with Ayato's.
Strengths:- Knowledge- Daisuke knows just as much as Ayato does about the world, and shares a mind with him.
- Physique- Daisuke can demonstrate just as much physical strength as Ayato, and is equal with him in personality.
- Two is Better than One- This spell allows for a complete duplicate of spells and effectiveness in battle.
Weaknesses:- Spells- Daisuke is only capable of using Ayato's D-Ranked spells (holds a replica of Ayato's sword and book for these spells to activate and resolve properly)
- Magic Power- Daisuke's presence divides Ayato's current magic power in half, however much it may be when Ayato uses this spell to summon Daisuke. This must be done in order to give Daisuke a limit as to how much magic power he can use, as well.
- Health- Daisuke's presence divides Ayato's current health in half, however much it may be when Ayato uses this spell to summon Daisuke. This must be done in order to give Daisuke a limit as to how much health he possesses.
- Range- Daisuke must be within 20 feet of Ayato at all times for this spell to resolve properly.
Duration/Cool-down:- Duration- Daisuke can only exist for 6 posts before his soul divides in two, and resides idle in Ayato's book and sword, once more.
- Cool-Down- Daisuke can be brought forth an additional time after 12 posts have passed.
- Daisuke:
- Nullification- Nullifies a spell of equal rank via a black hole
- C-Ranked Spells:
- Name: Chapter Two: Devastation
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Description: A white magic circle immediately appears over Ayato's book: The Sixth Sense. While this white circle is active, with the lunge of Ayato's Elucidator, fifty balls of white fire are launched instantly towards the target. Each fireball is 1 inch long, and altogether, the fifty fireballs can travel 40 meters at 50MPH. Only two of these white fireballs actually deal damage (D-Rank each), while the rest are just illusions (they will not even burn the target).
Strengths:- Quick- The spell travels at a swift speed and with a large quantity of fire (50 fireballs travelling at 50 MPH)
- Activation and Resolve- The activation and resolve are instantaneous
- Illusory- 48 of the 50 fireballs are used as illusions, and so they can make the opponent believe 50 balls of fire are actually present to damage them.
Weaknesses:- Intelligence- Though the fireballs are remote, they are not intelligent enough to evade any obstacles that may come between the user and the target.
- Water- Any water spell will reduce the entire spell to nothing
- Limited Range- Due to the large quantity of fireballs, this spell can only go as far as 40 meters
- Cost 2- This spell cannot be used again (after the cool-down ends) until another Story of the Sword spell is used.
Duration/Cool-Down:- Duration- Once per post for 1 post
- Cool-Down- 4 posts
Name: Chapter Two: Descend
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Description: A white magic circle immediately appears over Ayato's book: The Sixth Sense. This gives Ayato's Elucidator the ability that, if the sword is lunged upwards, a new, and much bigger white magic circle will appear in the sky instantly. These new white magic circle unleashes a 50 foot white fireball that descends at 25MPH towards its target. This gigantic fireball deals no damage the moment it strikes, though it is still fatal. If struck by the gigantic fireball, a curse will be put on the target. If the target gets this curse, the next spell he or she uses will cost an extra amount of C-Ranked magic power. Also, the next spell the target uses will cost him or her 1.5 amounts of D-Ranked damage if he or she chooses to use it. This is unless the cursed target does not use a spell in their next two turns of posting. This curse only affects one spell before vanishes from its victim. The curse will make itself visible as a white veil over the victim if struck by the white fireball, successfully.
Strengths:- Size- The white fireball is very large (50 feet)
- New Conditions- Being struck on this fireball puts new, damaging conditions on the target (as described in the description)
- Activation and Resolve- The activation and resolve of this spell are instantaneous
Weaknesses:- Slow- The speed of the gigantic white fireball is slow due to its massive size, so those of higher rank can easily avoid it.
- Activation Cost- Chapter Two: Devastation must be used prior to this spell for it to activate and resolve properly.
- Curse Limitations- This spell only affects Mages from D-Rank to B-Rank
- Water- A D-Ranked water spell will halve the size of this fireball and its speed. A water spell of equal or higher rank will reduce it to nothing.
Duration/Cool-Down:- Duration- Once per post for 1 post
- Cool-Down- Four posts
Name: Chapter Two: Burning Soul
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Description: A white magic circle immediately appears over Ayato's book: The Sixth Sense. This white magic circle gives Ayato's Elucidator the ability that, if Ayato brings his sword downwards in a slashing motion, a trail of white flames with a width of 5 feet will travel remotely towards Ayato's target (follow the target). This trail travels towards its target at 80 MPH. If the trail comes in contact with the target, it will burst, and C-Ranked damage.
Strengths:- Remote- This trail of white flames can travel remotely towards its target
- Activation and Resolve- The activation and resolve of this spell is instantaneous
- Fast- This spell travels at a great speed of 80 MPH
Weaknesses:- Unintelligent- Should any obstacles come between the user of this spell and its target, the spell will not evade that obstacle. Also, it will not deal any damage if an object or another person intervenes.
- Activation Cost- Chapter Two: Devastation and Chapter Two: Descend must be used prior to this spell for it to activate and resolve properly.
- Position- The user cannot move from his current position in battle while this spell is active until it either hits its target successfully or fails, generally. If the user chooses to move while this spell is active, it will deactivate immediately.
- Water- A D-Ranked water spell will nullify the remote effect of this spell and limit its range to 25 feet. A C-Ranked water spell will reduce this entire spell to nothing.
Duration/Cool-Down:- Duration- Once per post for 1 post
- Cool-Down- 5 posts
- Quick- The spell travels at a swift speed and with a large quantity of fire (50 fireballs travelling at 50 MPH)
- Signature Spell:
- Name: Eternal Flame
Rank: User-Ranked (Signature Spell)
Type: Supplementary
Description: Three other spells equal to the user's current rank must be used prior to this spell's activation and resolve. This spell allows the user to travel at two times the speed of the fastest spell he used between all four prerequisites of this spell. For example, if the fastest spell equal to the user's current rank allowed him to travel at 50 MPH, this spell allows him to travel at 100 MPH.
Strengths:- Activation and Resolve- The activation and resolve of this spell is instantaneous
- Double Speed- This spell allows the user to travel at two times the speed of the fastest spell he used between all four prerequisites of this spell (mentioned in the description)

- Recoil- The power behind this spell also deals one amount of damage to the user equal to his rank.
- Extra Cool-Down- Using this spell increases the cool-down of the spells used to trigger the preparation of this spell by 1 post.
Duration/Cool-Down:- Duration- Once per post (for both effects) for three posts
- Cool-Down- Eight posts (subject to change as the user ranks-up)
- Activation and Resolve- The activation and resolve of this spell is instantaneous
