Personality: Axel has two personalities. One, outside of battle called well, Axel. And the other one seems to only appear when Axel engages in combat, he calls this personality Nova. Several changer are seen as well, for ex. Axel's eyes gain an orange tint to show that Nova has taken over. Despite this, the real Axel seems to have a lot more potential, while Nova knows how to deal with life threathening situations.

Axel is depicted as a coward, and is shown to be extremely cautious. He really dislikes getting into trouble, and slightly fears people that have a violent nature. Back when he was a child, he had no friends at all, nor did he have a pet. His mother died during birth, and his father had past away even before that. Because of this, he was sent to a orphanage. Every day, they picked on him for unknown reasons. But, when he had reached the age of 13, Nova first came out and beated the other orphans up with no mercy, breaking a fair amount of their bones. After this, Axel left the orphanage without hesitation. He greatly appreciates his friends, when he makes one.

Nova, in battle, retains very calm and keeps himself together no matter what. Even though Nova may not seem like it, he cares as much for his friends as Axel. Nova likes to wear a pair of gloves, which seem special, but are nothing but ordinary. However, they are fire-resistant. He wears this during battle because a girl at the orphanage gave it to him, after he had beat up the other orphans... It may seem strange why she would reward him, but that was only because those same orphans picked on her as well. It was later revealed to Axel and Nova that Amy, which was the girl's name, passed away from illness, and because of this, Nova practically loses it, when somebody badmouths her. Nova has a fierce flame depicted on his forehead, showing his determenation to win.

However, at times, Nova simply refuses to come out and fight because he wants Axel to grow up, and learn to fight as well. Nova knows of Axel's potential, and thus created a world inside of his mind, where he trains Axel's mind, and helps him channel his magic better. When Axel fights instead of Nova, he often screams and runs, hiding behind all kinds of stuff to protect him from the opponent's attacks. However, when there is no way to escape, Axel tries to build up his courage and attack, which occassionally succeeds due to his opponent lowering his guard after seeing how weak Axel is. These succesfull attacks usually do great damage, or none at all. There are times, when he fails as well. At these times, he continues to get beaten up until he nears a critical condition. That's when Nova usually hops in, and saves his life, often saying the same thing to the enemy; "Your opponent is me, now." His expression and everything changes as well. Axel would make a crappy leader/follower. However, Nova would make an excellent leader, because he will actively talk and help out his allies. As a follower, he will listen to all of the leader's commands, unless he views them as completely wrong. Then, he will do what he thinks is right.


Likes:
-Axel likes his friends and appreciates them, because when he was young, he never had any.
-Nova likes a warm environment, like the edge of a volcano, the reason why, is unknown.
-Axel likes Nova because he helps him a lot.


Dislikes:
-Axel dislikes fighting, because it's too violent for him.
-Nova dislikes Axel's coward nature, because he can do so much more.
-Vegetables, Axel and Nova both detest vegetables because they taste bad.

Motivations:
-Axel is motivated by the desire to save his friends. As is Nova.
-The Guild. Axel views the guild as a big family, he likes it a lot more than the orphanage.
-Nova is motivated to become strong, and that is only possible if Axel learns to use his power to the fullest.

Fears:
-Axel fears  worms, because when he once woke up, the orphans let a bunch of worms crawl through his clothes...
-Nova fears that Axel will go down the wrong path.
-Axel fears the night, because of certain tv shows he has seen.
