Ooc: All righty, let's get this started.

The morning rays shone through the leaves of the Eclipse Soul garden as Zeno walk its stony path towards the library. He had been keeping track of the mission board and the comings and goings of his members as more and more jobs were completed. The guild was alive, yet one member had peaked his interest: Kiba Yukiko. The white-haired mage was relatively new, but had already earned a spot as the guild's librarian. Kiba's C Rank examination was a recent success, but Zeno thought the man was capable of more.

A minute or two later, he appeared at the librarian's desk.
"Good morning, Kiba. Would you mind walking with me?"

Kiba had been looking over a new book that he had acquired when the guild master had come to see him. As much as it annoyed him to stop what he was doing he did stop. looking up from the desk. "Of course not." Trying to hide his annoyance that he DID mind as he spoke, but what can you do when someone bigger than you asked you to something basic. "What can i do for you." Kiba says closing the book and coming out from behind the desk.

"There's something I'd like to show you. Please, follow me." Zeno said calmly as he turned around and already started walking, expecting Kiba to follow.

Zeno's plan was to show Kiba the Training Tower, a large arcane structure of his own design. He knew Kiba had not visited it yet, so he wanted to show the new librarian how it worked... and throw him a curveball at the same time.

"Sure." Kiba kept the book with him even as he followed Zeno. He wondered if this was going to take long but kept to himself.

Ooc: Careful with the single sentences, amigo. We've got rules that state posts have to be at least a paragraph of 50 words long.

They walked towards the Training Tower via the gardens, but Zeno was walking rather quickly and with purpose. As a slight drizzle seemed to commence, they walked out of the density of trees and stood before a very tall tower that seemed to rise into the clouds. Mist was falling onto the guildhall, and soon they might have rain or even a thunderstorm coming down on them. Zeno would have to make this exam a quick one to make sure he would be managing the guildhall in time for the bad weather. If something was to go wrong, he did not want to be in the Training Tower where he'd be hard to reach.

As they entered the tower, all levels that could be counted from the outside turned out to be false, as the tower was one large and hollow construction. The walls and windows were all covered in rising crystals that led all the way to the top of the tower. The tower was an arcane structure on the inside.

Zeno cleared his throat and explained.
"This tower took me some time to build. It is an arcane construction that creates the perfect training environment for those will it. Imagine a place in your head, add as much detail as you can and use your will as you would when casting magic. The guild tattoo will resonate with the tower and, in turn, the tower will resonate with the arcane realm. Somewhere on the walls, the crystals, a portal will appear and you can step through to find yourself inside the very world you created in your mind. You'll be in the sliver of void between reality and the arcane realm. You can choose to leave your portal open, allowing other members to step into your world, or you can choose to close it to the outside, meaning you'll be able to go out at any point, but others won't be able to come in.

Now, the choice is yours. Would you like to give this a try and create your own world, or do you want to step into mine?"

Kiba followed Zeno, keeping pace with him the entire time. He followed the man into the tower, stopping to look up, Listening to the mans explanation as he did. Smiling as Zeno Finished. "Zeno... you though taking me... someone whom is counter to magic into a magic construction?" he looks at the man as he speaks. "Well as long as it does not blow up in my face." Clearly referring to how magic item tend to explode on him. "and lets do mine. i have someplace i wish to see."

Zeno smirked, "I guess there is no way for me to guarantee you nothing will explode on you..."

The guildmaster walked over to the wall opposite of Kiba. Calmly, he placed his hand on the crystal layer. He could see his shattered reflection across its shiny surface.

"The tricky thing is to tether the portal to a specific area on the wall, while concentrating and creating your world. If you fail to do this correctly, the portal could appear anywhere on the crystalline surface. Which means it could open up on the wall twenty meters above us and become relatively difficult to reach."

He tapped onto the wall several times with his index finger.
"Take a few deep breaths, focus on the world you're building in your mind and feel the magic of the guild tattoo resonate through this space. Try aiming or directing the energy flowing from the guild tattoo to this exact spot. If the tattoo explodes on you... Well, we'll deal with that when it happens..."

Kiba frowned and the Facetiousness that the man showed, but he could not blame him for it, in many ways Kiba's magic was his own worst enemy. Kiba did as he had seen, only getting a small explosion from on of the crystals. It only results in a small cut, which Kiba quickly wraps a piece of cloth around then step back.

"Your trying to kill me." Kiba mutters as he steps forward to try again.

Closing his eye Kiba focus on a memory of his old home. A shrine on a moutain so far and so deep in the moutain few know about itlocked in permanent winter, with a constant gentle snow. A large tree, So old, that it trunk is as large as a small building. the Main building tall and majestic covered in shades of reds and purples, sits next to it. off to the right sit the main housing where the sub family's live, just as great as the main Building but build more for utility then anything else. The main approach, a path cut into the mountain itself with wards protecting every step.

The portal opens as Kiba opens his eyes. "Not hard." His tattoo hurt, which is no surprise as its made of magic. "Lets not do this again soon that hurt." Kiba felt sore now, it was slow to take as he had been forced to use magic to open this portal, but the pain was growing.

Zeno nodded quietly as he stood by and watched. He was curious to see the realm Kiba had created -by using magic, no less. The guildmaster had noticed the magic reacting violently with the anti-mage, but he had said or done nothing about it. This test was going to revolve around dealing with it. With his abilities, Kiba would have to learn to live in a magical world. In this land, magic would continue to surround him at every turn, at every step, and it would interact with him whether he would want it to or not.

Zeno waited at the portal and waited for Kiba to be the first to enter.
"The one who created this dimension should enter first, otherwise it could break apart and become void."

Kiba nodded then stepped into the portal, the first thing he felt was the familiar chill. To him it was pleasant, but to others it might be cold. Kiba looks around to figure out where he came out, then laughs, they were at the bottom of the stairs. the reasons this made him laugh was because from bottom to top there was 1930 steps. when the guild master followed he turn to him and spoke. "hope you like stairs." Kiba said. he did not mind he had played on these steps as a child so they where nothing to him.

A portal formed and Kyll shot out of it into the stairs. "Master Zeno! Why do you keep doing that!" Kyll said angered and annoyed. Kyll looked around in a rather awkward manner. The closed eyes mage then looked to see Kiba. The new member whom slipped by her. She sighed and looked at the stair case. "Something came up with the master. So I'll be taking over." Kyll said tapping a boot. "Even though I was working on a masterpiece in the kitchen." Kyll sighed again and crossed her arms. How was she going to get this cake done in peace? With Katherine around causing havoc, then there was Sephiria bothering her every now and then. Then she blinked and looked at the stairs again. "Seriously? Your mind is... Stairs?" Kyll said sarcastically to him. She then stood behind the new mage and shoved up the stairs. "Come on, you have to go first other wise I might wind up hurting myself." Kyll said. "I don't want to wind up in another coma."

Kiba blinks as Kyll comes though then frowns. "he really IS trying to kill me." shaking his head. "and hello Kyll. Sorry that you got dragged away." then turn to the stairs. "and know my mind is not stairs this is a place from my memory's." he starts climbing avoiding the patches of snow and ice the wards to keep them clean did not start till stair 1730 so it would be tough going for a while.

Kyll sighed as she walked up the stairs with him. "So how do you feel about sweets?" She asked walking up the stairs. Kyll sighed marching up the steps with him. She then slipped on the snow and fell face first into the stairs. She then got up. "It's.... cold..." Kyll said glaring at Kiba. "You know I can understand the stairs, but the snow... it's just too much."

Sighing Kiba continues to walk the step stopping to figure out what the sound is, Kyll falling. "these stairs act as the first test for Mage bane martial arts... along time ago we taught outsiders. well that what i was told at least." Kiba slips slightly but maintains his balance. "and for the cold i just remembered home... although the stairs where badly damaged in the attack..." Kiba zones out slightly as he climbs.

Kyll sighed as she looked at him walking up the stairs. "You know there are a lot of things in common from where I came from and what not. Tests of sheer endurance up the stairs, lonely nights in the snow... It's just rather nostalgic that you would choose such a place." She looked at him and gave a smile. "So what is supposed to be at the top of these stairs." Kyll continued to climb up the stairs with Kiba ahead of her. She huffed and puffed letting her breath turn into mist with each puff.

After a while it was clear that there would be no damage to the stair so he kept climbing. "the Shrine and living quarters for the Yukiko family and all the sub famillys." Kiba stopped. "Do you know what happened to my family?" he did not know if Kyll knew. it mattered little in the long run but perhaps it would help them understand him a little better. "My family... was killed by mages because of our skills."

Kyll glanced over to Kiba. She raised an eyebrow and sighed. She had no clue how to react because she didn't know what his skills were. However Kyll understood warring families over magic. "I'm a hunted creature by another family in Midi. The clan I hail from has been fighting for centuries against another clan because they do not understand that fate can be changed. However the other clan only sends out assassins preventing the Wei's work to further stability and balance." Kyll looked at him and walked further. "Many healing mages were lost, while many of the dark assassin's were killed by the traps the Weis lay before them." Kyll stopped and looked at Kiba. "What I'm saying is, you're not the only one that deals with such a tragedy." Kyll sighed. She knew she was lucky enough to be born outside of that drama only to be tossed back in and betrayed by her own kind. It would be a long story to tell him. More than likely he didn't want to hear about it from her. "It's a cycle that everyone knows about, grim, but true."

She looked at Kiba. "To be honest I don't know which situation I would rather be in. Hunted because of 'skills' or experimented on because of magic." She gave a smile.

Kiba stopped climbing when kyll tells him shes hunted, turning to face her, listening silently. when she finishes he turn back and climbs a few steps and stops again. "I am the last Yukiko... when i die my bloodline dies with me." Kiba says quietly. "I have no family left so i had to find one. That family is you and Kath and all those people at the guild hall." Turning to face Kyll. "I refuse to lose any more of my family, when they come back for your life you will not be alone." He offers his hand. "And perhaps one day we can stop them completely." He smiles gently. "and perhaps one day i will be accepted in this cruel world of magic. Make you a deal be there when i need you and i shall return the favor."

OOC: Post 1500

Kyll smiled and took his hand. "Well... If you would understand in this guild. It is all of us who cover for each other." She followed him further up the steps. "This world we live in has to keep turning. It is our job as beings who live here to keep it that way." Kyll walked with him to the stairs hoping that he may have learned something at the top. Maybe there was something up there that the two would have to fight either way or maybe it was something else since he finally showed a sign of letting Kyll in. She was bound to show Kiba that there are brighter things out there. "What I'm saying is, do not forget where you come from, but use that to move forward." Kyll said with a small grin. The closed eyes mage opened her glowing green eyes slightly showing a warmth in them. "There are those out there who mean well with their capabilities. It is their job to stop those who don't. To keep the chaos to a minimum..." Kyll smiled warmly. "We reaching the top yet?"

Kiba kept silent for a few a few minutes, as the steps became steeper he spoke again. "I know that, i have seen it at least in a small way." Kiba stops. "Up ahead is a narrow bridge that usually has ice on it, the winds that go over the bridge can be as fast as 30 miles per hour, i know the charm to cease the wind but would you like to do the test on your own?" He turns to face Kyll. "its the second to last test... one i had to do when i was 6." he smiles. "i have never forgotten where i am from, not once." Kiba lets Kylls hand go. "if you choose to cross on your own i ask you don't use any magic." he turns and climbs the last few stairs. The platform leading to the bridges is covered with markings and wards but they stop at the bridge. next to the bridge is a small placard.

Many Eons ago man fought nature without the aid of magic and lost many of times, but there are times when man won. Show the strength of your will to live.

Kiba frowned as he looked at the bridge, it was really icy and the winds where not calm at all. "well decision time." he smiles gently.

OOC: Sorry it took so long

BIC: Kyll walked with Kiba and smile. "Technically this is your training, so you decide as you wish to do. Either way when we get there we may see something amazing. So your choice is... Use the easy way to get to the reward or the honest, hard way to get to the end." She gave a smile and awaited for Kiba's answer. As she did this she took in the scenery both scary and awesome at the same time. The wind would surely blow around making the trek across the bridge a difficult one, but Kyll didn't mind either way.

Kiba smiled. "suits me." Kiba then runs towards the edge jumping at the other cliff face, catching onto the protruding rocks, then gaining his hold on the cliff face. after he was secure he begins climbing the wall, keeping himself as close to the wall so not to get blown from the wall. It takes a few minutes to reach the top, save a few close calls. as he reaches the top he stretches
