Deniel saw that he was driving back Zack; he was taking the advantage and the lead on the fight.
I can do this! Just a few more swings! Not only that, but Deniel made him drop one of his swords. He may have been able to control them without the use of his hands, but the fact that he was able to do such a thing made it clear to Deniel he was making Zack struggle, even if it was the slightest bit. And if he was struggling, then Deniel might finish his final trial soon. Deniel thought that his next group of attacks would do the trick, but then Zack took a good leap away from him. Instead of chasing after him like an idiot, Deniel jumped back as well so he could see what his mentor would do next. He clenched his clawed hand in response to his own frustration, though. After all, he had almost just won; how could he not be frustrated? Deniel pulled his scythe back a tiny bit so that it would turn back into its sword form. The blade thickened and shortened, turned ninety degrees, and pulled itself back on to the hilt where it originally was. And he was glad that he did. Just then Zack came at him in a similar way that he did before. Instead of just throwing himself at Deniel though, this time he spun himself like a drill. Deniel didn't have time to dodge, so instead, he held up his large blade in front of him to block Zack's attack. The force of it started to push him back, but Deniel's blade was barely able to withstand the force being exerted on it.
Deniel had to put all of his strength into making sure that he didn't move his sword, and that he dind't move at all. The second part failed, but didn't go so terrible. Deniel's black boots skidded across the ground, causing the dirt to pile up on the soles of his shoes. Deniel could hold out for quite a while, and there was no way that something like this could last forever. However, it was Nidhogg who couldn't last much longer on this. Armageddon was a very durable sword, but the amount of punishment it was taking was almost unbearable. The dragon grit its teeth as he felt the pain of him in one of his forms being pierced, but he had to hold out for the sake of Deniel's training, as well as his own. Deniel then heard a crack. A crack in his sword. His eyes suddenly widened, and he started to push back against Zack's force. He didn't seek to do to much, he only pushed him back enough to where Deniel could jump out of the way and make sure he didn't get struck. Deniel stared down at his sword,
"Nidhogg! Are you alright!?"Just as Deniel asked his question, his sword suddenly grew even more cracked, and about half of it shattered like glass. This was the first time something like this had ever happened, and Deniel didn't know what to say. He thought he lost his friend again...but this time, forever.
"Hold it! I'm fine, Deniel. Just one of my forms was broken. Don't worry. Simply switch to another." Deniel sighed in relief. He couldn't bear to lose Nidhogg a second time. Without hesitating another moment, Deniel swung his broken sword, and Nidhogg was once again enveloped in blackness. Deniel didn't just have two forms for his sword; there was a third, but in the match he was having with Zack, he didn't have much use for it. The blade shrunk its size, and once again became the black katana in the scabbard.
"Alright! New approach! Get ready, Zack!" Deniel drew the sword from its scabbard, but instead of using the scabbard, he placed it at his waist. His black scales enveloped part of the scabbard so it would hold it in place. Deniel held the fair-sized black katana with both hands, and closed his eyes. A small wind blew up from beneath Deniel up to his face, making his spiked hair go in a wavy motion. And then, in one instant, his entire body flashed and became covered in red energy that made motions just like fire. It was of a blood-red color, and gave a mysterious glow to the energy around him. And despite being covered in so much of it, Deniel's red eyes were still visible through it.
As his final step, Deniel rattled his wings even harder, and although they were insect-like and fairly small compared to the rest of his body, they were still able to lift him up. Deniel didn't necessarily go very high, but enough to where his legs weren't touching the ground. By doing this, he was about to gain an unebelievable advantage. Not only was he faster, but also much trickier.
"You're going down!" Deniel clenched his fists harder around Nidhogg's hilt, and then literally flew to Zack. Upon his arrival, Deniel looked like he was going to perform a typical diagonal slash from the shoulder, but before he performed it, he used his wings to fly right beside Zack and send a stabbing motion. And if that wasn't enough, hew flew above Zack and swung his sword down. His next string of attacks were all either feints or tricky maneouvers, as he was using his wings to his advantage. He rarely attacked from the front, never did his feet touch the ground, and never did he stop attacking. He was once again taking Zack's advice, and never letting up.
OOC: The whole thing that just happened is his Devil Trigger. It just gives him 30% increase in everything. I haven't been keeping track of his Trigger Energy, which is irresponsible for me, but I know it's well over 100. And right now it's at zero. I'll start keeping track of it, though.
