- To Age 6
Alyia had been born in a small secluded village. This village had at most 200 people inhabiting it and at the age of four Alyia knew everyone and everyone knew her. The village was tightly knit and our young girl considered everyone family. Her biological family had 4 children. Her, an older sister and a younger pair of twins, a boy and a girl. She and her family lived in a 3 bedroom house. One for Alyia and her older sister, one for her parents, and one for the younger twins. The village was hidden and no one was allowed to venture very far away. Alyia knew this and wondered why no one would allow her to out into the surrounding habitat that surrounded the village.
Though one day a couple days before she turned 6 Alyia snuck away in the middle of the night to sneak out of the village to see just what laid outside of her world. She crept through the foliage and ventured out into the habitat farther than she had been allowed to. After a good amount of time of continuing into the outside world Alyia had near given up on her adventure to see the outside world when she saw a unnatural light coming from in front of her. She grew curious and made her way to the light only to find a campsite. She wandered into the camp and looked around. All of the people that were staying there seemed to be asleep. She peeked into one of the tents that decorated the campsite and found a woman. Inching closer Alyia saw that the woman had wavy brown hair that was to her shoulders, and long eye lashes. She must have been beautiful. Alyia reached out to touch the woman but stopped. It was getting close to sunrise and she had better be getting back to the village. Leaving the tent and heading back into the woods Alyia could not get the picture of that sleeping woman out of her head. Alyia had gotten back before the sun had risen and slipped back into her bed. No one knew that she had been gone.
Since that first night Alyia had snuck out every night to look more at the people that resided outside of the village and every night the camp got closer and closer. Well that’s what it seemed like to Alyia. But, maybe she had gotten used to walking that far. With all of her adventures Alyia had come to count all of the tents and people that lived in the camp. There was the one woman that she had seen the first night and 4 other males that all slept in two other tents.
Age 6
On the day of her birthday Alyia could not have been more happier. She had ventured out last night and the camp seemed like it was only a few minutes away from the village. This time when she was at the camp she had found a book. She had opened the book and had started to read it to find that the group of people were looking for the village. Maybe they were coming to visit. And for them to visit right on her birthday made her extremely happy. With a smile plastered on her face she exited her house into the morning sun expecting to find a celebration. But, there was no celebration. There to meet her was a wall of fire. She shrieked and ran inside to get her siblings. Waking up her sister and grabbing the twins Alyia made her way out of the house and to the edge of the village where she and her siblings hid. Their hiding didn’t last long as a man came up from behind them and grabbed them hoisting them off of the ground and into the air. He carried them through the fire and to another clearing near the village. Alyia’s eyes widened in fear as she saw that all of the living people in the village were there. She saw that some were lying on the ground dead and that there were people crying over them. She saw that in the midst of the horror that there were people that wore different clothes lining the villagers up and killing them. She looked closely at the people that were killing and saw that they looked like the people that had been from the camp that she had been visiting every night. She watched in horror as one of the men cut off the head of her neighbor. She thought that the people from that camp had been nice, she was wrong, way wrong. With tears in her eyes she was finally thrown to the ground. She held the twins close to her chest and hit the ground with her shoulder harshly. The two younger siblings were crying. They didn’t know what was going on, all that they knew was that their family was dieing. She looked around for her sister and spotted her by another pair of people. Their parents. Shuffling off of the ground Alyia made her way over to her parents. Reaching them she knelt down and handed the twins to them in hopes that they would calm down once they were in the arms on their mother and father. But as soon as she handed the children to them she was pulled away from her family. Dragged by one of the men over to the other side of the clearing. She screamed and cried for him to let her go. But, he did not listen. Finally throwing her to the ground the man looked at her. “Yes, that’s her,” the words came out of his mouth like a razor. What did he mean? “She was the one to get into camp every day and slowly lead us to the village.” With a gasp she finally understood what he meant. They had been following her and she had lead them right to her home. A cry escaped her throat as she watched another person die in front of her. These people were dying because of her and her curiosity. She watched more and more people die due to her mistake and tears stopped leaving her eyes. She wasn’t sad now. Now? Now she was angry. She watched another person get their head cut and growled. She was going to do something. But as she was about to act she froze. She saw the next people that were getting their heads removed. They were the younger twins. With wide eyes she screamed for the outsiders to stop. Her screams did nothing as the sword came down on their necks. Her voice broke as she started to sob again. There was something in her that broke. It hurt. It hurt like no tomorrow. She never removed her eyes from the scene as she watched as her older sister was next. It only took a moment and her sister was dead next to the twins. Alyia’s tears never stopped streaming down her cheeks and she surged forward trying to get to where her siblings lay dead. She didn’t even get two feet before she was grabbed and forced back into a seated position. She watched in horror as her parents were escorted to the death platform. She screamed and kicked keeping her eyes on her parents. But, it was no use the person that held her was much stronger. She observed as her parents got to their knees and closed their eyes waiting for their end. Her voice grew hoarse and she watched the sword arc and their bodies fall. They were dead. With new vigor Alyia shrieked and looked at the person who had just killed her family imagining the pain that she felt thrust upon them. She watched as he screamed and fell to the ground her eyes widened. Had she done that? She looked up at the man holding her and imagined his head being cut off. As soon as she thought of it the man let go of her and grabbed his neck as if it were in pain. Letting go of Alyia had allowed her to run to her family. She knelt beside them and cried. This was her fault. She looked up to see if anyone was alive and found that everyone and everything was dead. All except the outside people. She watched as the other three people entered the clearing and looked around to see if their other two people were alive. With a growl Alyia stood up and looked at the three people. “I call upon the Punishment of the Father!” She screamed as she imagined the pain of all of the people that were killed being thrust upon them. She felt tears roll down her face as she watched as the people fell to the ground. Alyia moved from her spot and walked over to the two men and one woman that were now on the ground. Reaching the spot where they lay Alyia stopped moving. “You shall never ever cause pain like that to others.” With that she walked away from the clearing and into the surrounding habitat.
9 years later
Alyia had wandered around the forest where she lived for 9 years. Learning how to control her new found powers and learning how to get along alone. She had developed an attitude of I don’t care if you like it or not and she learned to hate confined spaces and crowded areas. But, one thing never changed she still loved chocolate. Alyia had let her blonde hair grow out so that it touched her heels and started to braid the bangs that framed her face. Over the 9 years that she had been alone Alyia learned to like heights. They allowed her to get away from people and they allowed her to be able to see what was coming. Today she decided after spending so much time alone without human interaction she was going to go into the closest town and be around some people. She approached the towns border and stepped over the town line. Alyia took a deep breath and continued into the town. People started to appear on both sides of her and walk all around her. It was abnormal for her. Suddenly her head was yanked backwards. Her hair had been stepped on. Her hair now reached the ground and trailed a little bit behind her. Turning around she picked up her hair and held it in the hands. She looked up at the person who she had bumped into. It was a girl. She had brown shoulder length hair and dull brown eyes.
Alyia had gotten to know the girl, her name was Kazum she was 16, just a little older than Alyia, and had a small family. Alyia talked and laughed with the girl as she told stories of her friends and their adventures. They had spent all morning together before Kazum had to go. She left Alyia with a smile and some money after finding out that Alyia didn’t have any and was all alone. Alyia gladly accepted the money and watched Kazum leave. From there Alyia walked around and finally stopped in a park. She climbed one of the trees that were littered around the park and looked up at the sky. Not even a few minutes later Alyia heard a familiar voice enter the park. “Like oh my god her hair was awful, it reached the ground and was all dirty. And she smelled like she hadn’t taken a bath in years. It was so gross! I didn’t know that there were people out there that actually looked like that! So I sent her off with some money. I hope that the next time I see her she’s at least clean.” Alyia could not move. The person that had been so nice to her earlier was double sided. Jumping down from the tree that she was sitting in Alyia landed right in front of Kazum and snarled. “I call upon the Fears of the Risen,” she spoke with a hoarse voice as she gripped a small part of Kazum mind. Alyia watched as Kazum started to quiver and shake. A smirked appeared on her facial features. This spelled showed the person that she had a piece of their mind their worst fears. Alyia smirked and let go of Kazum’s mind. The girl fell to the ground breathing hard. “Witch!” Kazum screamed as she regained her composure. Alyia froze she had never considered herself a witch. Shaking it off Alyia shrugged. “Call me whatever you want. It doesn’t change you.” With that ALyia walked off. She walked into town to a hair cutters and entered with her hair dragging on the floor. She looked at the person at the main desk and gestured to her hair. “I need it cut. Just a couple inches so that it won't drag.” The lady at the desk nodded and lead Alyia farther into the back of the building.
Alyia had left the hair cutters with the hair that she still has today and still enough money to go buy new clothes. Walking down the street Alyia felt freer with less weight on her head. She walked down the sidewalk where clothing stores decorated the sides. She entered store after store and bought the clothes that she wanted. Eventually spending all of the money she had been given Alyia left the towns with bag after bag of clothes and toiletries.
16 years of age
Alyia walked into the city of Karakuri all scrapped up and clothes torn. She was here to join Eclipse Soul. She had been interested in joining a guild since she had left Kazum. Being called a witched had sparked something in her. She didn’t want to hurt people without a reason it made her no better than the people that killed her family. She had thought about going to guilds other than Eclipse Soul but they all just seemed too happy for her. Alyia sat down on a bench that decorated the side of a sidewalk. ‘This place just had to be up in the mountains didn’t it,’ Alyia thought as she looked around. She had at least made it to Karakuri. ‘All those years alone payed off.’
