Taming the Curse

Lina sat on the stairs outside the guild hall. The sunset out in front of her, turning the sky red and pink and the clouds into dark and light shades of lavenders. She hated the feeling of anxiousness, she hated it so much. but around this time she would always get it, then get it again before the sun started to rise. "Damn this stupid curse.." she grumbled to herself as she played with her hands in her lap, waiting for the moon to come up. feeling like it was taking forever.

Daemon yawned as he walked through the guild hall as the sun began to set causing the sky to change from it's pure blue to a rich pink and purple. Daemon personally enjoy the night time air compared to the hot muggy air of the hot summer days . As Daemon headed outside the guild hall he quickly noticed Lina sitting on the steps staring at the setting sun. Daemon knew why Lina was sitting perfectly still. It was due to the curse their family was placed under since their first ancestors became human they were forced to return to their animal form during the night when the light of the moon shines upon them . Daemon sat down next to her and gently patted her head then calmly said out to her. If you want sis I could teach you how to control your transformations." He turned to her and smiled as the moon rose into the sky bathing them both in it's pale light.

Lina felt a little calmer knowing that daemon was sitting next to her. She sighed shakily not looking at him, trying to calm herself until she said something she didn't expect to hear. she nearly gasped as her eyes lit up. "R-really!?" and all of a sudden she had a big grin on her face. but then she could feel the moon rising, as it did she got a sensation up her spine. the yellow light fading away as the stars began to reveal themselves. she gritted her teeth as she began to shrink, and as the moon showed its form fully she was now a little silver fox laying on the top of the stairs, her ears back and her head on her paws with an annoyed face. Daemon, she knew, was the only person who could still understand what she was saying. "...that would be nice, because this stupid thing is annoying, and it hurts.." she whimpered.

Daemon smiled sadly and looked up at the moon. "It'll become second nature by the time were done sis being able to switch anytime you want can be useful in sneaking around or attack an enemy then rushing off without them knowing what hit them ." Daemon smirked a little and shifted slowly into his lupine form. Alright first lets get you talking you have to focus on your vocal cords instead of a growl or bark you have to think about speaking with your normal voice ." He said calmly in his human voice .

Lina sat up and straightened her posture. She took in a deep breath and started to think about her human self, and talking. And started to try and say the letters of the alphabet. "A....b-bvvvvv..c..d-d.." she managed to make it all the way through the alphabet clumsily and did it over and over again until she got the words right."Well I can say the alphabet.." she started, but then she gasped. Looking at her wolfy brother with a toothy grin. "I DID IT! I'm talking! La La la laaa..." she laughed.

Daemon snickered and laughed with her as they got her to be able to speak in her animal form. Daemon slowly shifted back into his human form. Now comes the hard part. In order to control the curse you have to accept the fact that were not human to begin with and our ancestors were animals and that they were given a human form. Lina you have to accept your fox form as the real you once you do that you will be able to take control of this power. " Daemon said calmly knowing that Lina hated her curse but if she wanted to spend her nights s she chose she had no choice.

"w-what!? we were originally animals??" her ears fell back as she looked shocked, she sighed and looked down at the pavement stairs below her paws. her ears back, "were not human.." she mumbled, closing her eyes and wrapping her tail around her paws, flicking the white tip back and forth. "we are not human, this is who we are.." she mumbled again, taking in deep breaths and repeating the thoughts in her head. she stayed nearly completely still for almost twenty minutes, mumbling her thoughts out loud, it was hard for her not to think about her human self. Because that was what she was trying to achieve, she sighed, her brows narrowing in frustration for a minute, she growled to herself for a minute before she changed her thought.

"I'm not human, This is who I am.." she said, then she felt herself touching the pavement not with paws, but with fingers. she looked at her hands as a smile crossed her face. "I did it!" she laughed, scooting towards daemon and hugging him tight. "thank you so much, Nii-San!" she giggled as she was still hugging him.

Daemon smiled and hugged her back. He was truly happy to be able to help his beloved little sister out with controlling their curse. As the night rolled on a flock of crows flew overhead. Amongst the avian creatures there was one that appeared to be much larger then a typical crow. This crow was covered with a shroud of onyx feathers. As the bird flew over their heads it caught a whiff of their combined scents and practically dive bombed towards them. Within said dive the bird suddenly shifted into a tall yet well built pale skined male. "Onii-san Onee-san" The male shouted as he continued to plummet towards his older siblings.

Daemon looked up to the sky as soon as he heard the word Onee-san and Immediately being sweat nervously a he quickly stood up just in time to get it in the head with the male's bare foot causing Daemon to fall backwards in pain.

The male jumped off of Daemon's face preforming a quick summersault before landing on his feet in front of Lina. The young male was wearing a basic dark green v-neck t-shirt. Black cargo jeans. with a necklace with a pendant of the spade family crest. His primary weapon was a strangely designed composite bow and a magical quiver to produce infinite arrows. The male hugged Lina and began to sob. Onii-channnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn UWAHH.

Lina watched as a bird dove down from the sky and took the form of a male, barreling into daemon as she stepped back awkwardly, "who is this creep!?" Lina mumbled to herself as the male turned to her, his eyes lighting up light a child on christmas mourning. he summersalted and barreled into her, she squeaked in alarm as he started balling into her shoulder. "Onii-channnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn UWAHH" he sniffled as his embrace was so tight she had to push him so she could actually breathe. "O-onii-chan...?" she said getting a good look at his face, but then sniffed him. then remembering his scent. her eyes widening, "W-Waka!" she smiled and returned his hug. "its been so long!" Waka smiled as he rested his head on her shoulder, even though she was older he was a bit taller than her, but she definitely acted older than he was.

Daemon grabbed his head and groaned before looking up at his little brother as a small tick mark appeared on his head. Waka come here ." Daemon gestured his little brother to come closer which caused waka to attempt to hide behind Lina. Daemon sighed and calmed down as Lina gave him a look that sent ice running through his veins. Daemon walked over to Waka and gave him a hug before ruffling his hair. "It's good to have you back Waka." Waka began to sob again giving his brother a bone crushing hug.

After several mins of Waka crying and hugging his long lost siblings the trio was sitting on the steps of the guildhall. They were sharing stories of what happened to each other after they were separated there was laughter, sorrow, and the warmth of the love between siblings.

Lina listened to all the shared stories as they talked through the night, as they did so she transformed into her fox form and squeaked as she yawned loudly, causing waka to yawn as well. but then Waka transformed into his crow form and flapped onto Lina's back. lina laughed a little as he ruffled his feathers. they both looked over at daemon.

Daemon smiled and snickered at his little siblings before shifting quickly into his dire wolf form. Daemon sat on the steps with his siblings staring up at the moon with a smirk. Unbeknownst to the trio a pair of ghostly apparitions were staring at them from atop of a building close enough to see them yet far enough for their scent's to remain undetected. The du was composed of a dire wolf and a mythical dragon. The two smiled happily at the tiro as they slowly began to fade away into the night sky.

"rawrrrr!" Lina laughed as she rolled over and pinned waka down by his wings. tickling his exposed feathery middle as he squawked trying to squirm out of her grasp.
