The Chaos Theorist meets the Magmaborn (Closed)

Nev had taken the train from Magnolia town to Hargeon town, he was making a journey to see all the different places that this land had to offer and if their stores had any of his families heirlooms for sale since they show up from time to time. As the train approached the town the salty smell of the sea filled his nostrils, "Been a while since I smelled the sea."
The train was fairly crowded since Magnolia and Hargeon were close to each other which made commerce much easier between the two and the train allowed fairly quick travel between the two. As the train came to a halt Nev picked up his book and got up to leave the train but with everyone moving about so much he got pushed into someone, all he saw was what looked to be a mess of black hair.

Almyra was wide-eyed with wonder the whole train ride to Magnolia. She had worked hard to earn the jewels for the ride, and it was certainly worth it. She hugged her doll tightly as she enjoyed the sights, sounds, and smells. It was amazing. And then, when she got off, she would have a whole new place to explore!
As the train came to a stop, she was surrounded by people all trying to get off. She wished she could talk to them all, but she knew that they all were busy and had places to go and things to do all within the grand system of chaos that was the world. She stopped for a moment to admire he beauty of it all before she was bumped into by someone. She let out a small "Oof!" As she staggered forward a bit, then turned around to face whoever had bumped into her. "Sorry!" It was most likely her fault that she was bumped after all, since she was the one standing in the busy area.

Nev looked at the small lady before him and notice she was a full brunette, a true brunette, black hair albeit a tad messy, large beautiful brown eyes. Aesthetically she was almost completely perfect, only her mind is left to learn about, Nev did notice her apologize and was confused by her apologizing for him bumping into her. "Someone as beautiful as you doesn't need to apologize to anyone, see I am completely fine, no harm done. Nev does his best to show her he is fine by showing that none of his clothes were damaged and most of all his book.
He hadn't run into anyone this perfect looking in a long time, and she seemed far less awkward than the other lady he had met in Oak Town. This one seemed more in tune and friendly with people, maybe he could borrow her to assist him in his search.

Almyra tilted her head. He did not seem to mind being delayed when most did. Strange. She blushed a bit when the boy called her beautiful. She had never heard people call her that before, 'cute,' however was fairly common. "You are sure? I was in your way because I had stopped for a moment to observe things. I have likely delayed you in your schedule, disrupted your system. You are sure that the ripples I have set forth will not grow into a tsunami of terrible consequence?" She asked, seeming concerned. Almy doubted this would happen, but with her knowledge she knew that almost anything could happen. "If I delay you further, we may both be swept into a current that we have no control over. We should first get off of this train, lest it leave with us on board. We may speak more after disembarking." She turned and walked away from him, making her way off of the train, but would wait nearby once she got off.

Nev looked at the lovely young lady before him as she spoke he came to the realization that she was amazingly well spoken which made her even more marvelous. He calmly smiled and replied to her asking if she would disrupt his system, "Someone as lovely as you could never disrupt anything for me. She then spoke quickly stating that they should get off the train before it leaves again which Nev agreed with her and tried to follow her as best as he could but with how small she was he lost her in the crowd. He decided he would wait for the train station to calm down a bit before he attempted to find her, if she was actually still there.
Nev sat on one of the train benches since standing was too tedious and he wanted to focus on nothing but her dark hair and beautiful eyes. He sat there purely lost in thought with his little crush on this new young lady.

Almyra looked around after getting off of the train and the man was gone. Well, gone from her sight at least. She couldn't see much in the crowd with her height. She knew the place would be clearing out eventually and decided to just wait for him. She had a feeling he would wait for her as well. As the people slowly started to leave, she spotted him in his red clothing sitting on a bench. She smiled and trotted over to him. "There you are! I was unsure if you would find me. So many systems colliding and interacting, ripples being created, and strings being pulled. It is beautiful, but confusing, and easy to be lost in."

Nev smiled at what the lady said, he wasn't sure what she was referring to however it was interesting, "so where does a lady like yourself come from?"
She didn't look like most other people from this place which was interesting since Nev wasn't from this place either but it is all he has known, maybe she remembers her homeland. Maybe she has books about her homeland that he could maybe read one day. She was unusually small though, it was interesting, the people from his land were very tall and of a heavier build than most people from here. However their skin was quite pale regardless of how much they walked in the sun so concealing the paleness of his skin was much more suitable, plus his skin on the front of his body was more familiar to most people due to the heat his book produced when he casted spells.

Almyra smiled, glad to see that the boy was interested in talking. It was nice speaking with people.. "My family comes from Desierto. We moved to Fiore when my sister and I were found to be able to use magic." She frowned a bit. "People do not like magic much here, even though it a good thing." If Nev new anything about Desierto, it would probably be its climate, which would explain Almy's darker skin. "Where are you from? And what is in the book you showed me on the train. It seems important to you." Why else would he show that his book was okay after he bumped into her?

Nev continued smiling, just sitting and talking to someone was great, however stating she was from Desertio he had no idea where that was since this is the farthest east his family had ever gone. Nev was also confused about her stating that magic was frowned upon where she came from, since where his people came from everyone could use magic. "I'm from across the ocean, and the book is how I cast my magic, so it is very important. Without my book I'm just a regular person with no magical ability what so ever."
Since the way Nev's family line uses holder magic in order to cast their spells since that is the traditional casting method of the family. The magic of this land is very strange to Nev and slightly confuses him about how he should explain things to people often.

Almyra tilted her head curiously, looking at Nev. "Really? Interesting. Every other mage I have met, even other holder mages have some abilities that do not require their focus. What was your home like? I was unaware of any other lands across the sea." She looked at his face, with his pale skin, she assumed it was colder and darker than her home at least. She probably wouldn't like it there, the cold wasn't fun. She looked to his book. "Can I see your book? I just want to look at it. It looks pretty. I'll show you my book if you want."

Nev continued his smiling even though he was extremely perplexed by her statement that every other mage had some sort of ability even if they use an item to cast from. This made his mind race with wonder as to what hidden abilities he might have, maybe he could make a volcano appear out of thin air. Then she asked what my home was like, then she elaborated on the homeland instead of my home in specific which troubled him slightly since he had only read about it in books. "I've never really tried using magic without the book... my family has just always used items for magic. And my home I've only read about in books but it was often dark and covered in ash clouds and it was hot with all the volcano's that were around so we were called the Magmaborn since we use volcanic magic as well. Aside from that I could not tell you more and my ancestors had no idea there were lands to the west but it was the only direction to go."
She also asked him if she could look at his book which he was very conflicted about, "I can show you my book but I cannot let you hold... it, I hope you understand why." He then opened his book to show a page covered in rune markings on pages of tanned flesh of some form, the runes have some similarities to Ecriture however their are obvious differences in many of the runes and others that aren't familiar at all.

Well it seemed his home was warmer than she had thought it would be, though the darkness from the ash clouds certainly would have made it dark there. It was interesting hearing about his people's home. She wondered why they left. She smiled widely when Nev agreed to show her his book, and nodded, understanding why he would not want him to allow someone else to hold his source of magic. She admired the pages, looking closely at them and studying them. It certainly was interesting. She wanted to touch it, but resisted the temptation, since she didn't want to upset the boy. After looking at it for a bit, she reached into her bag and pulled out her own book.
"Your book is neat! Want to see mine? My sister made it for me as a gift for when I started exploring. It lets me write anything I want to down if I use the pen that goes with it." She took the pen off of the strap on the book and made a small doodle on one of the pages, then turned the page over and turned it back, the drawing disappearing. "Now watch!" She closed her eyes for a moment, calling upon the page she had just made. The doodle quickly re-drew itself on the page, appearing identical to the one Almy had drawn.

Nev's mind had just erupted like a volcano, none of the family heirlooms his family had could do anything remotely close to that. "The magic here is weird but amazing, where I come from the only magic is from channelling your magic through another item, for example my book that I use. Originally I was supposed to learn how to use the sword that is passed down to all the men of my family but instead the book chose me to be it's wielder which hasn't happened since my family left the homeland..." Nev stopped talking with a worried look on his face since the last holder of the book destroyed his home, which worried him greatly since he didn't want to have the same thing happen again.

Almyra giggled. "The magic here varies a lot. Some people channel it through things like you. Other people can just cast it from their bodies, and some items can have magic in them. Like my book." She smiled at him. "Well there may be something special about you if the book chose you. Though several factors may affect it. Perhaps it with your relation to the last person who wielded it. Maybe it could be that you are closely related, or the opposite, and as distantly related as possible." She gave him a concerned look when he stopped talking. "Is something wrong?" She inched a bit closer to him, wanting to comfort him, since he seemed worried about something.

Nev looked at her with a slightly worried look, the words that the book chose him because he could have been closely related to it's last wielder, since all the magmaborn are related in some way however the last wielder destroyed the island. He hopes not to become an evil being like the last wielder of the book was since the book is a sign of great fortune to the magmaborn however it is also a sign of a potential calamity. "I hope I'm not anything like the last wielder of this book, hurting people is never okay unless you are defending people you care about... which was not the intention of the books last wielder. I would prefer to drop that topic, so what are you doing here then?" His sad look quickly changed to a smile like as if someone had turned a light on.

Almyra nodded, agreeing with him about hurting people and moving onto a new subject. She smiled when he asked why she was here. "Just exploring. I had never been on a train before, and it seemed like fun, so I tried it out. I also just love seeing new places, so I got on the train to see a new place. So why did you come here?"

Nev gave a cheerful smile, "I came looking to see if the shops here have any items related to my homeland since they do get washed up from time to time. Most of them are magical so water doesn't destroy them thankfully unless they are books then they need to get dried out and hopefully none of the ink runs. Good thing my book doesn't have any ink... Would you like to explore with me? Nev had a large smile on his face.

Almyra nodded with a smile. "Sure, that sounds fun. What do they look like, so I can help find them?" She wondered what sort of other items there were. Well one of them was a sword, as he had said. She also wondered why her people would sell the things that let them use their magic. A new thought interrupted her, and her eyes widened a bit with a realization. "I forgot to tell you my name!" She giggled. "That was silly of me, I'm Almyra. It's nice to meet you!"

Nev thought about how to explain the items to the lady since they are all very different however he did remember the one distingushing thing that a non-magmaborn could do. "Well the easiest way to find them is if they have an oddly warm feeling to them that isn't explainable." She then remembered they hadn't exchanged names, Nev rarely told people his name unless they asked and she had asked. "Almyra is a pretty name, I am Nevraygrr Smordereckt currently the youngest magmaborn wizard.

Almyra nodded. "Alright, I'll try to help you find your family's things. It should be fun." She smiled when he liked her name. "Thanks. I like your name, too. It's interesting. And it's nice to meet you." With that, Almyra leaned forward and gave Nev a hug. She liked him. He was a nice person.

Nev welcomed the hug and hugged back but not too long lest it get awkward, "there are a few shops I would like to visit here to see if they have them there. What about yourself, do you have a purpose for moving about? Nev liked the thought of having someone to talk with.

Almy didn't hug Nev for long anyway, certainly not long enough for it to be awkward. She had hugged many people, and knew how long she could generally sustain a hug without them becoming uncomfortable. She nodded in response to his question. "I explore to see things and have fun and learn."
