    In Progress Death meets Chaos

Post by Yuiisai 9th December 2018, 10:36 am

It wasn't so long that she got free from the guild and facility she had been with her entire life, she knew she didn't quite fit in even within her 'family' or those thought to be the puppet gods of a new era. Her very touch could take away life if she wasn't concentrating due to this she was often bound while she slept and they avoided touching her skin under any circumstance. Only people who ever had was those within her 'family' and Rui but she felt like she had to be doubly careful with him knowing his issues, she had to give her immortality so that he could survive what happened to him in that hell that was their home for the longest time. This alone had left her vulnrable to the treatments that she went through more so after he managed to get free of the place, she held nothing against him though she was stronger the younger male had always given what he had to her, giving her safety, warmth, his food and took all punishments solely so she wouldn't be harmed. She never really did understand why he done such a thing and never once asked him though she did want to stop him she did it would cause issues, this was something that she wanted to prevent such things from happening.

She didn't know why he had even come back to the facility at that time, he had finally got something they all wished for that was until she seen his eyes and realised that he was sick. At this time she had blocked her past so she didn't even realise that the person whom had brought him here was the same boy she had sparred with back where she was raised previously before being sent to the facility for going against their superiors and protecting him. During the return however she had pushed Rui into a capsule to keep him safe from the ones that enforced the rules, not knowing that she had a family member that had been travelling with Rui that had given up his immortality for her until her own could be restored back within their home realm as she was killed. When she awoke she was in a place that felt so very familiar to her but felt so distant at the same time, it was the first time she had met her cousin's, twin and even her father officially having some of the answers she had been wanting all her life answered. She had found out she was a daughter of the primordial entity death and thus was a goddess of death due to it. Part of her recognised this to be true but not being raised with this knowledge, with these people who said they were her biological family was to much for her to take in and so she ran to the streets dressed in a white and ice blue hanfu a black butterly on the left hand side in the hopes she would be able to work out what was going on and why it was happening to her.

Notes: Markus has no idea where he is going or how he appeared there. He would probably be very much confused. If she spoke in any language other than Earthland then you can free to assume he looks completely lost.
    Markus Eldridge

Markus glanced about in a secret wonder. Though his face was mostly passive and his eyes showed no emotions. While here, Markus could feel its influence stronger and more powerful than ever before in his life. The void has a strange way of bring the mage closer to his primordial patron. Closer to Chaos.

The Progeny of Chaos had left its realm some time ago, having grown tired of the twisting landscape and chaotic nature of the seemingly ruleless domain. Markus had learned a lot of the void in his time there, it was how the universe was before Creation. That one day, it will be how the universe is once more, after Destruction. He had learned that other beings, deities, and primordials called the land their home, all of which carved out a spot and warped the void into their personal domain. He knew the void was vast, even endless, and strange. Very few creatures had permission to explore the void itself, but all domains touched the shifting land in some way or form, from Earthland, to ‘Heaven’, and ‘Hell’ and countless more Markus knew nothing about.

The chaos mage had gotten ‘blessed’ by the primordial, now that he had proved his worth. When covered in its visage, and aflame with its magic Markus could explore the void to his hearts content. Something the mage would currently be found doing. Unfortunately, it seemed the void itself was rather formless and boring, yet Markus was not ready to return home, or to his guild. He still needed time to think, despite the years that had passed.

For a brief moment the chaos mage had thought he found something interesting, seeing a large, well giant, creature moving through he space in the distance. However, as Markus attempted to approach and learn more the creature seemed to disappear within the depths of void, something which surprised and confused the chaos mage. After all, its sure size should have made the creature easy to follow.

Markus felt as his wings shifted, keeping him aloft in the endless void. Markus was unsure really how it worked, after all there was endless space, formless and featureless, in all direction. When turning, or flipping, he always felt as if he was facing ‘upwards’, and even when he was certain he was upside-down from his previous position, it was normal. In fact, the only reason the chaos mage was not worried that he would be lost was because of a small pull, an itch, a feeling in his mind. The mage, thanks to this, knew where the domain of chaos currently reigned. Even if it moved from time to time.

Once more the mage started moving, unsure how best to proceed. The mage knew he was heading somewhat in the direction of the aparation he had seen, yet as far as he could tell he was traveling through blank space, through nothing, through everything. It would be maddening if Markus was the kind of person to dwell upon such things.

Unfortunately for the chaos mage, he had yet to learn how to feel the subtle shifts within etherium, and as such was unable to stop himself from suddenly being pulled downwards by the unexpected and unwelcome return of gravity.

After a brief second, the mage found himself standing slowly from his prone position. Looking around, Markus could not help but blink in wonder. He was within a city completely unknown and foreign to him, within a land he could not recognize. He briefly questioned whether he had somehow found himself back in Earthland when he saw her. A pale female with a shock of white hair standing about his height. Markus attempted to come up with words, questions, yet his mind could not think.

He was still trying to process his sudden drop from void.

Demi had continued to move through the city trying to get a feel for the place that she should have called home from the day she was born, she seen the way people looked at her and felt anxious as they bowed to her. It wasn't something she was use to and the nervousness was easily seen in her eyes, she could feel them trying to communicate with her through the way she guessed was natural to her kind but she prevented it from reaching her, she now knew what others felt like when she connected to them and she didn't like it but even now there was times were it was needed for safety and protection. How could the two that she found out were her cousins deal with their abilities, they seemed far stronger than what was normal within this place. She seen the looks from other people towards them and even how hard they worked to try and keep such a thing under control, from what she had seen however they knew such a thing was impossible and so came up with their own honour code above what was normal for their race. She heard the surface thoughts of those who had been near them, how they were seen as abominations to the people they served and tried to better the lives for. "How can they bare knowing such things and continuing as if they don't?" she asked herself, she could only imagine the heartache that they went through and how isolated they felt when they never asked for what gifts they had been born with. She would love them regardless of gifts or how it made her seem, then again she had a differing view given how she was brought up.

She stopped however seeing something coming into the city and moved her hand up a faint micro smile on her lips as she rubbed the belly of the low flying beast as it passed. There were so many wonders in this realm, so much for her to learn and she would happily take such knowledge. She hated the fact that she was looked upon as an outsider by many due to how she acted and what little she knew of herself and her culture. It wasn't like she asked to be kidnapped as a child, raised as an experiment and weapon for some dark guild on the mortal plain, just to be moved to some weird facility were the treatment was far harsher than that of the guild. This was how it had went and to her it had only made her stronger than many of her race, she could stand light, she could speak from both her mind and mouth, she could take more punishment and she wasn't afraid to get down and dirty for her or those she cared for's survival. It was then something caught her eye bringing her out of her own thoughts, a boy seemingly falling from the sky and falling hard on the ground below. She wasn't to sure if that was normal or not so was debating on wither or not to find out if he was injured or just keep moving along, it wasn't anything to do with her after all she had her own problems to deal with.

She watched him get to his feet and dust himself off as he looked around, even if she couldn't hear his surface thoughts his face alone painted a thousand questions. She could however read his surface thoughts and sighed. "No you aren't in Earthland, this is the realm of death." she said trying to help him make some sense of at least where he had landed. "My name is Demiari, though I am use to being called Demi." she wanted to introduce herself to the other even if she didn't want to tell him anything else, this was just the way of things within what was her home. "I didn't mean to be rude before but you were kind of projecting your thoughts in a realm filled with people who are telepathic and gods forbid if you get near my cousins, they'd have read you like a children's book." she said tilting her head to the left slightly taking in his clothing and features. "So who are you?" she asked finally, there were of course other things she wanted to ask but these could wait until the basics had been covered.

Markus blink and glanced to the side when the woman spoke to him. For a second his was confused, he had not said anything. Not even a word. Then, her next statement answered his questions and caused an exacerbated sigh from the chaos mage. Mind readers… It had been a while since Markus had dealt with such things. He wondered if any of his old lessons stuck. He had a name to work with, for the mage that was enough as his mind started to racing.

Shaking his head once more he stood strait and adjusted his coat, leaving his guild mark showing unintentionally. Markus had not thought of the guild in a while… well, that as not true, he thought of them a lot, and just forced them from his mind most days. Markus had become very busy now that he had proven his worth to Chaos, whether training or traveling he was always on the move. Sometimes alone, and sometimes with Chaos ‘favorite child’. Luckily this time he was alone, he could imagine her smug remarks even now.

“Well Demi, the name is Markus. Do you mind explaining where I am?... One second…” Markus drifted off the words looking again at the sky. He was informed that not all realms knew they bordered the void, and such talk in the wrong place was dangerous. Yet still, Markus knew the woman at least understood Earthland. If he could get back there, perhaps he could return to Chaos. Or, if he was lucky he could find a way back to the void from here. Even now Markus had lost his tether, he no longer felt the direction of Chaos’ Domain. “Your cousins?... sounds like people I would like to avoid. Any help in… Getting home, and staying out of trouble would be greatly appreciate.” Markus forced a rather realistic looking smile, having been practicing on his ‘manners’ yet as always his voice was neutral and devoid of any real emotion, and anyone with Demi’ abilities would probably see strait through it. Markus really did not care, but he knew some places respected their ‘codes. The chaos had gotten more and more stoic, and less and less emotional, as he spent more time with any proximity to Chaos’ domain, almost as if the deal he made was progressing far faster than it had in the past few years. Markus wondered if it had to do with Chaos, or his powers growing stronger.

Although Markus had not moved, not wishing to risk antagonizing a woman who could just as easily be friend as foe, he was certain to take in as much of his surroundings as possible. The city was glorious, and certainly had a charm of its own. Yet, perhaps to Markus’ luck, he could not currently see any of its other inhabitants.

Demi watched him as he fixed his attire her eyes going to the unknown symbol that he was showing but she would get to that in due time "Not mind readers, telepaths there is a difference believe me." she corrected him as she again picked up on his surface thoughts a sigh crossing her lips "I swear people instantly think mind reader when they see that people can pick up on projected thoughts." she commented seemingly slightly irritated on the assumption "My kind can't speak like your kind do, we communicate through mind. The only reason why I heard yours is because you are projecting them." she gave him a quick lesson on those like her, she was an oddity as she was raised to speak from her mouth and only use her telepathy for the betterment of those who raised her or she served. She did so but she also used it while she was in the place she knew as her original home to keep her in touch with her 'family' when they where in isolation or in their cells. She often feared what would have happened if she had been caught doing such a thing but then there was really no way to prove if she was doing it unless someone spoke about it and they never did. She even tried to do it from the facility but she guessed those she knew where to far away for her to reach or the magical barriers the facility used prevented such things.

"Oh and on this occasions I didn't need your surface thoughts to know what you where thinking, it was written all over your face. We're also good at that." she said with a faint smile. "A pleasure to meet you Markus, this is the realm of death and this as far as I know is the capital city but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place." she said seemingly ashamed of that fact, but then she was raised on Earthland away from those like hers so the racial and cultural shock was throwing her through a loop that was for sure. "We know where our realm starts and ends so you don't have to worry about speaking or thinking about such things here." she said knowing that his mind was trying to protect itself but right now he was at a disadvantage in this realm as it was how things were done naturally. Demi could only glare a little as he said that he would like to avoid her cousins, she understood that people liked their privacy but her cousins couldn't help what their gifts they had been born with. She hated the stigma they found themselves in "My cousins are actually very kind people Markus and have enough stigma hanging over them for being how they are from their own people, they don't need the same kind of reaction from outsiders." she said her voice sounding both saddened and angered voice "They give themselves even stricter rules than the rest of us so they can give that privacy to people. They even keep themselves isolated as much as possible so they don't intrude on people" she explained her hands balling to the point darkened blood started falling from her hands "They saved Rui when he accidentally came here though his light hurt them... yet people want to avoid them because of what the stupid primordial's wanted to give them as gifts, how is that fair!" she hated people who judged without knowing the full story or even wanting to learn it, it was however something she seen over and over again.

Unballing her hands after a moment and again became stoic, she knew that nothing good would come from her being angry at him over things that couldn't be changed. "So you're wanting to return to Earthland? This realm is the easiest way to do it as we have reapers here, turns out I am one of those a child of the death primordial themselves." she said watching as her hand healed quickly "I could help you back there or to the void, but I have to ask if you are an experiment or something. I noticed your marking." she said calmly bringing up the sleeve of her own clothing showing a marking of a forgotten dark guild and what seemed to be a magical branding from the facility she called home for a while. "Are you trying to return to them? Where they kind to you?" she knew from her personal experience that two places that done pretty much the same thing to those in their charge could differ, sure she was experimented on and used in both the guild and the facility but she was at least treated like a person in the former scenario so was wondering if he was like her "It be somewhere I'd like to visit some day perhaps if it is nice, it might even help me find a way to help Rui and my cousins." she said her eyes looking at what she believed to be his facility marking not really knowing about guilds at this point.

Markus again listened as the woman spoke. He found the difference between telepaths and mind readers interesting. He knew both were rare in earthland, and had little interaction with either. Markus priding himself in staying cool under pressure, and keeping his emotions in check was thrown off by the sudden inability to grasp the situation, and chastised himself even as she would have. Taking a breath the chaos mage nodded as she finished informing him of her home, and magic did Markus speak.

“Thank you for the information.” The chaos mage was glad when he learned of the truth, the realm he was in was still within the void and he had heard whispers of the primordial death. He was surprised to find such a place within the realm of a primordial, but then again the only other realm he had been within was Chaos and as such not a very good baseline.

Markus did not mean to be insulting, in fact he understood very well what it meant to be hated, or judged due to ‘gifts’. As such he listened with an understanding heart as anger touched the voice of the female in front of him. He could tell she had spent plenty of time thinking, and hating the situation her cousins were in, and to be far Markus did not blame her. The chaos mage held nothing against Demis cousins, in fact he had no person feeling against or for them. Markus purely had come to hate his own internal mind, Aporia had done wonders to show the chaos mage his weaknesses, and Markus’ own vanity did not wish for him to show those to others.

Markus decided there was no reason to hide such, and informed the female in front of him of his feelings. After all, most of what he thought was n the surface anyways so there was nothing to hide. HE very much believed they were kind, and was gladdened to learn they did not… squander their gifts. However being one such ‘blessed’ by a primordial he knew personal feelings, and moral codes meant nothing to the masses. It was something he had come to live with, and he knew it was something they too had to live with.

Markus did not recognize this Rui that she spoke of, and as such he listened as she finished her tale. “I can understand your anger, and I meant no disrespect. But, you have to understand my own apprehension. It matters not to me how moral they are, my thoughts, my fears, my weaknesses are my own to live with. Not for someone else to read willingly or not. I have enough trouble dealing with them, and as such I do not wish to… burden other.” That out of the way Markus listened as she spoke asking him questions on his destination.

For a second, the chaos mage was unsure… He had been informed that time moved differently here, or at least in Void. Besides, he still was not yet ready to return… he had too many questions, and to much to deal with before such a time. “I would like to return to the void.”

Upon hearing Demi speak of his guild mark the chaos mage actually looked down upon the symbol with a smile. A feature that until recently had been almost completely foreign to the man. No… they had not hurt him, and despite how much had happened Markus had come to call Fairy Tail his home and those within his allys. Markus thought ov what Ivy had said when he needed it most, of the girl Athena and their strange mission, of Aven and his… quirks, and of Nessa. He had still yet to determine how he felt about her, but he knew her to be a valiant ally and friend.

“They were kind to me, though I certainly did not deserve it. I was… not a good person in Earthland, yet I was accepted despite that. I refused to let go of my past, and fought tooth and nail to keep them at arms-reach, yet still…” Markus died off. He never spoke that much at once.

“I am not ready to return to them. Not yet at least…” Markus listened as she spoke towards visiting. “Well, if you ever find yourself free in Earthland, look for the town of Magnolia. There is an… office building. It does not look like much, but you would be surprised. It is the home to a wizards guild known as Fairy Tail. I am sure someone there will be able to help you.”

Markus finished telling the girl of his home, and even gave her some details of Magnolia itself. Of its beautiful forest, and silent seclusion. And, of its people as enigmatic and vexious as they are. Markus informed her of the wizards that he knew, for it is possible that at least one of them could help her.

Then, he spoke one last time on the subject. “If you speak to a… hopeless mage named Nessa. Tell her..” Markus was going to say to tell her that the chaos mage was sorry. But, the truth was he was not. She would never know why he left, nor the pain that night had brought him when Aporia trained him. She would never know how that night had also saved the chaos mage from destruction. Markus remembered what Aporia had said, ‘We both know she is safer…’

    “Tell her nothing.” Markus finished.

Demi looked to the other through her blood ruby eyes, she knew that many seen telepathy and mind reading as one in the same but to her kind it wasn't even if it was elsewhere but she nodded as the other seemed to take the information from her "Mind reading is a taboo, I'm not saying this example to be rude but it like be us walking into a holy place and deciding to defecate within it." she shuddered at the thought of doing such a thing. It was disgusting, unneeded and most of all immoral for many reasons so was glad that he understood and they could move past it. When the other spoke of his own apprehension she nodded understanding fully what the others point of view. It wasn't exactly like they could help it and they placed all sorts of safeguards in place so they could keep the invasion of privacy to a minimum. "I completely understand where you are coming from, they are princes of this place..."[blur] she closed her eyes and sighed as she thought of her next words [blur]"I think that alone is why they are still alive, killing royalty is bad regardless of realm or race it seems." she opened her eyes once more a saddened look within them

"They don't really interact with anyone due to their gifts and not wanting to intrude on privacy but it will happen on occasion and so they have a strong moral code that no matter what they see of a person unless a threat it remains with them solely unless there is an immediate danger to Rui, the realm or permission has been given." she said moving to hold out a picture of her cousins. Stood in the image where two males whom looked identical, they stood about around 6'3" tall, lilthe build, albino skin, indigo eyes and white hair. The one to the right had his long white hair tied to the right of his head. He was wearing a semi loose black and royal purple hanfu robe with a long sleeveless semi pale indigo hatori, at his back a straight sword with a carmine tassel would be seen. The one on the left had his long white hair tied to the left and was wearing a semi loose black and carmine red hanfu robe with a long sleeveless crimson hatori, at his back a straight sword with a white tassel would be seen. "The one to the right is Shindara, he is the crowned prince and the one to the left is Amuul, if you ever met them they would end up calling you Chaos, as here you are called by what you do, who you are to the person, your magic or your realm." she explained so he wouldn't be surprised if bumping into any death touched void dwellers.

Hearing he wanted to return back to the void she began to walk "Please follow me and I'll show you the way, the streets will be empty at the moment for the most part. It is night time here." she said remembering his thoughts from a few moments ago as he noticed the lack of anyone around "And yes we can be seen, only people who have the ability not to be seen are reapers." she explained but even within the realm of death they were very sparse but they done their job well. Hearing about Magnolia and how it gave him a person deemed as unworthy a chance within the mage guild known as Fairy Tail she smiled and nodded "I may just have to enquire there and find out more, thank you for the information." She said as she continued to move out of the city limits knowing the other was likely following, she walked what would have seem for quite a time before stopping and placing her hand forward the black gem on the back of her neck glowing just slightly as a portal appeared "This will take you where you would like to go, I could accompany you for a while if you like while my contract with Rui is being finalised I can't really go to Earthland to find out about Fairy Tail or Magnolia more so this will help me a little more." she said with a smile awaiting his answer, she would like to learn more of his experiences and perhaps he would like to learn more of her kind too. "If I leave the realm before you and find the one you are looking for within the guild, I will let her know you are thinking of home." She added to the end, in honesty she didn't know which of them would end up their first but she was a person of her word and by how he spoke, she could tell he truly did miss his guild.
